30th May 2009 – Report from Mary Kalal

A very busy but interesting day with lots of cats to judge and I thank Julia and all concerned for the kind invitation and warm welcome. Very many thanks also to Jeanette Sheldon who stewarded for me; handled the cats gently but firmly and was very good company and a great help on a busy day right through to helping out in Best in Show, I look forward to the next time Jeanette.

BREED 32 CAT ASSOCIATION:

Tabby, Red or Cream Point Grand Premier Male:

1 and IGP to MUIR-TAYLOR SUP UK IMP GR PR TIANLEX FULL MONTY (32c) 14.3.03.

A big handsome cat with a superb temperament and enormous ‘presence’ and who is, I now see, a dear friend looking great in his mature years with a long firm but rather portly body, long fine legs with small oval paws and long fine tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, evenly balanced wedge head, straight profile, firm chin and level bite; oriental eyes of vivid quite intense colour but slightly deep set. Long elegant neck, coat short and close showing rich ‘Jersey’ cream points colouring with some body shading in tone but good contrast; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

RESERVE to TOBIAS IMP GR PR SHERMESE FUNANDGAMES (32.1) 9.9.06.

A handsome and elegant cat with a long muscular body, long fine legs with oval paws and long fine well ringed tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, even wedge head, straight profile, chin rounds off slightly, bite level; oriental eyes of bright vivid blue with an excellent expression. Long neck; coat short and close with clear seal tabby markings on his points, body showing some ticking in tone; excellent condition and most beautifully presented.

Adolescent Adult:

1 to COOK CH JOHPAS SABINA PURDITA (32c) 9.5.08.

A lovely female of very good type and balance, strong well muscled body, long fine legs with small oval paws and long fine tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced even wedge head, almost straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of bright vivid blue with an excellent expression. Long elegant neck, coat short and close with soft cream points and a clear warm toned body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

A mature cat with a charming temperament; long rather heavy body with long legs and oval paws, tail fine and balanced; ears could be larger for perfection but excellent set and well flared, balanced wedge head, straight profile, firm chin and level bite; oriental eyes of clear bright green. Coat short and close, excellent shine and texture and even apricot colouring, excellent condition and beautifully presented.

A lovely female of excellent type and balance; long firm body, long fine legs with small oval paws and long fine well ringed tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of deep blue colour with an excellent expression. Long elegant neck, coat short and close, excellent length and texture, soft fawn based caramel tortie-tabby points developing, clear warm body colour; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AV Visitors Kitten:

1 to MIDSON MIYOKO SUPER-TROOPER (48.43bs) 21.11.08.

A young male of excellent oriental type and balance with a long firm well muscled body, long fine legs with small oval paws and long fine well ringed tail with a white tip; large ears of excellent set and flare, long wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of clear green. Long neck, coat short and close, clear white except for two tabby patches between his ears with a white blaze between and a well ringed tail apart from the white tip, some slight patches of barring on his inner back legs; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

Veteran Siamese Neuter:

1 to SNAITH IMP.GR PR FOXTWIST MOPPET (32.8) 17.11.97.

A pretty female of veteran age with a sweet nature; long firm body, long fine legs and fine balanced tail; large well set ears, medium length wedge head, almost straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of bright blue with a typical oriental expression. Coat short and close with caramel tabby markings on her points, body clear; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

1 and GR PR to WILKINSON GR PR TONKAHOLICS ANTARES (74d) 27.3.03.

A charming cat with a firm but rather heavy body, legs and oval paws in proportion, tail tapered but needs a little more length for perfection; ears moderately large, rounded and well set, balanced head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and green-blue colour, excellent expression. Coat short, close and shining, excellent texture, red colouring deeper on points and gently merging over his body, excellent condition and beautifully presented.

RESERVE to WILKINSON PR TONKAHOLICS SIDROPHEL (74) 4.7.07.

A strong young cat, well balanced and of good type with a firm well muscled body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears moderately large and well set, head slightly long, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes well set and expressive, green-blue colour. Coat short and close with an excellent shine and texture, dark brown points with slightly lighter colour gently merging over his body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

Tonkinese Premier Female:

1 and GR PR to CROSSLEY GR PR DIABOLOS MYLEAH (74) 11.6.03.

A very pretty female with a lovely expression; firm lithe body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears moderate, rounded but held slightly high until she relaxed when they were well set, balanced medium length head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes well set and bright green-blue colour with an excellent expression. Coat short and close, dark brown points with colour gently merging over her body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

RESERVE to RICHARDS GR CH & IMP GR PR TONKAHOLICS ISLA TANIKA (74e) 18.8.01.

A lovely mature female with a firm well muscled body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears moderately large, rounded and well set, medium length head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and perfect bite; eyes well set and bright blue-green colour with an excellent expression. Coat short and close, dark brown well patched and mingled with shades of red, points being slightly darker; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

Tonkinese Self Male Adult: CC not awarded.

1 to MASON TALEN MIDAS OFTOSHIKI (74d) 27.5.08.

A young male with a charming temperament but whose type leaned too much towards Burmese, my reason for not awarding the certificate. Firm muscular body with legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced, large ears rounded and wide set, short broad rounded head with a dip in profile, rounded muzzle, good chin and level bite; eyes well set and expressive but clear green colour with no sign of blue. Coat short and close, red colour with some tabby markings present, colour darker on points; excellent condition and well presented.

BOB to CASE IMP.GR CH FECHELDEE CHAILAI TITAYA (74c) 29.5.02.

A very pretty female of type and balance; firm lithe body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears rounded, moderate and of excellent set, balanced head of medium length, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and bluish-green colour with an excellent expression. Coat short and close with dark lilac colouring on points and colour gently merging over body; excellent condition and well presented.

1 and CC to RICHARDS TONKAHOLICS KIKI DEE (74) 14.5.08.

A pretty young female of good type and balance; firm lithe body with legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears moderate rounded and well set, balanced head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and bluish-green colour with an excellent expression. Coat short close and silky in texture, dark brown colour on points with the colour slightly lighter gently merging over her body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

2 to CRAGG WAKANDA GOODIE BLUSHOOZ (74a) 18.8.08.

Another pretty female with a lovely expression; firm lithe body, long legs with oval paws and balanced tapering tail; ears large, rounded and well set, balanced head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes well set, expressive and greenish-blue colour. Coat short and close, silky texture and showing darker blue on points and colour gently merging over her body; excellent condition and well presented.

3 to BERNARD CH MIMAPERKS WINDMILL GIRL (74b) 14.3.08.

A tense female but she did come out to be judged; firm well muscled body, long legs with oval paws and very long fine tail; ears large, rounded and well set, balanced head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and greenish-blue colour. Coat short and close, darker on points and colour beginning to merge over her body; excellent condition and well presented.

4 to RICHARDS TONKAHOLICS SHANT TELLE (74) 4.7.08.

A very nervous but basically sweet natured young female with a firm lithe body, dainty legs and paws, tail tapered and balanced; ears moderately large, rounded and well set, balanced head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes of excellent set, expressive and greenish-blue colour. Coat short and close, excellent shine and texture, dark brown colour, darker on points with body colour a little lighter; excellent condition and well presented.

Tonkinese AC Tabby, Tortie-Tabby or Tortie Female: (6 present 3 for BOB):

BOB to HODSON CH ADOREATONK TIANA (74e) 14.5.07.

A pretty female of very good type and balance with lovely expressive vivid bluish-green eyes; ears moderate, rounded and well set, medium length head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; coat short and close, darker on points and colour gently merging over her body, pattern well patched and mingled in dark brown and shades of red; excellent condition and well presented.

Another pretty female of good type and balance with a firm lithe body, dainty legs and paws, and balanced tapering tail; ears moderate, rounded and well set, balanced head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes large and well set, bluish-green colour. Coat short and close, pattern darker on points and gently merging over her body; excellent condition and well presented.

2 to CHAPPLE ANTIKPATINA PRUNELLA (74t) 13.8.08.

A sweet young female with a firm well muscled body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears moderately large, rounded and of excellent set, balanced head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and bluish-green. Coat short and close showing a classic tabby pattern darker on points and lighter over her body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

3 to MACEY FECHELDEE DAISIE MAY (74p) 1.12.06.

Another pretty female with a firm well muscled body, legs and paws in proportion, tail balanced; ears moderate, rounded and well set, balanced head with medium wedge, slight dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and greenish blue colour. Coat short and close showing a pattern of caramel patched with shades of apricot, slightly darker on points and gently merging over her body; excellent condition and well presented.

BOB to MEEKINGS UK GR CH & PR LEMENTAL RED ALERT (61dt) 14.6.03.

A shy but good natured cat of very good type and balance with large ears of excellent set and flare, even wedge head, very slight bump on profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of deep blue colour with an excellent expression. Silky coat of very good length, showing a well plumed tail and ‘fringes’ along his sides, medium red points colour with some body shading in tone; excellent condition and most beautifully presented.

1 and PC to HOWARD CH & PR LEMENTAL ARAGORN (61d) 11.7.04.

Another shy but sweet natured cat with a long firm well muscled body, long fine legs with oval paws, tail balanced and plume-like; ears fairly large, tufted and wide set, medium length wedge head, slight bump on profile, chin rounds off slightly, bite level; eyes of oriental set and vivid blue colour with an excellent expression. Coat silky and of good length showing ‘fringes’ along his sides, red points with some body shading in tone but good contrast; excellent condition and well presented.

Red, Cream or Apricot Point Neuter Female:

1 PC and BOX to MEEKINGS CH BEWITCHING BARBARELLA (61dt) 19.8.00.

A shy young female who preferred her pen; lithe body, dainty legs and paws, tail tapered, plume-like and balanced; ears large, tufted and well set, short wedge head with a straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of medium blue. Coat a little on the woolly side but of very good length, red points and warm tone to body; well presented.

AOC Neuter Male:

BOB to HART UK GR PR APRIKAT SKULDUGGERY (61t) 21.5.04.

A charming cat with a firm muscular body, long legs with oval paws and long tapering tail with a full plume; large tufted ears of excellent set and flare, medium length even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of deep blue colour with an excellent expression. Coat silky and well developed with seal tabby points, body showing pattern in tone and lacking contrast at present; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

1 and PC to BIRD CH & GR PR BLANCSANGLIER BITTERSWEET (61) 30.8.00.

A mature cat of very good type and balance with a charming temperament; long lithe body, long legs with oval paws and long tapered tail with a very good plume; large tufted and well set ears, long wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of lovely deep colour with an excellent expression. Silky coat of very good length and texture, dense seal points and warm beige body with some shading in tone; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AOC Neuter Female:

A very pretty female of lovely type and balance with a firm lithe body, long fine legs with oval paws and balanced tapering tail with a well ringed plume; ears large, tufted and with good thumbprints, excellent set and flare, medium length even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of lovely deep blue colour and excellent expression. Silky coat of very good length with seal tabby markings on her points, body shaded in tone, excellent condition and beautifully presented.

2 to PININGTON SPINDIAMOND HAPPYTUNE (61h) 9.7.07.

A young female who had a lot to say for herself; long firm body with dainty legs and paws, tail long tapered and plume-like; ears quite large and well set, medium length wedge head, small bump on profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of vivid blue with a sweet expression. Silky coat well developed and showing fringes each side, points well patched and mingled in chocolate and shades of red, ivory body colour; excellent condition and beautifully presented. Balinese Non-Breeders Female Adult:

1 to STUDER PIPPASTRO TICKLED MY FANCY (61p) 22.11.07.

A very pretty young female, shy but sweet natured with a long lithe body, long fine legs with small oval paws and fine balanced plume-like tail; large ears well set and flared, medium length wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes, colour difficult to assess at that time of the day but appeared to be very good and with an excellent expression. Silky coat, developing well with points patched and mingled with caramel and shades of apricot, body clear; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

2 to BROWNING CH YELLOW FAIRLY AV KARITZY (61fnt) 28.3.06.

A lovely female of very good type and balance with large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced wedge head, almost straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes, colour appeared to be dark blue. Silky coat, well developed with apricot points colouring, body shaded in tone, excellent condition and beautifully presented.

Limit Adult:

A well developed young female with a firm well muscled body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears moderately large, rounded and set slightly high, balanced head, dip in profile, muzzle a little fine but rounded, whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes large, bluish-green colour. Coat short and close, colour dark on points but is also very dark over her body with no contrast; excellent condition and well presented.

Coat developing well with dark chocolate points and beige body, colour just starting to develop; excellent condition and well presented.

A pretty female with a lithe body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears moderate, rounded and well set, medium length head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin, bite scissored at present; eyes well set and green-blue colour. Coat short and close, darker on points with colour starting to merge over her body; excellent condition and well presented.

A pretty little female with a firm body, dainty legs and paws and balanced tapering tail; ears large, rounded and well set, balanced head, dip in profile, rounded muzzle, good chin and level bite; eyes well set and green-blue colour with an excellent expression. Coat short and close with lilac points and contrast in body colour with colour not yet merging; excellent condition and well presented.

2 to CASE TARJIKA MOONSTONE (74c) 3.1.09.

A sweet little baby with a firm body, legs and paws in proportion; ears large rounded and well set, balanced head dip in profile, rounded muzzle with a whisker pinch, good chin and level bite; eyes well set and blue-green colour; silky coat, slightly long but close with soft lilac points colour and paler body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

Breeders Male Neuter:

1 to VOUSDEN GR CH & PR MYMYSTIC PHAROAH (74at) 30.1.97.

A charming cat of veteran age with a firm well muscled body, legs and oval paws in proportion, tail tapered, balanced and well ringed; ears moderately large, rounded and well set, head a little short, dip in profile, rounded muzzle with whisker pinch, good chin and level bite and he still has his front teeth; eyes well set and bright blue-green, excellent expression. Coat slightly coarse but close and showing blue tabby markings on points, body colour similar in tone, barring on legs; excellent condition and well presented.

2 to CHAPPLE ANTIKPATINA LOGIBEAR (74b) 13.8.08.

A big strong young cat with a firm well muscled body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears rather large, rounded and well set, medium length head, slight dip in profile, rounded muzzle, whisker break, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and greenish-blue colour.
