Mrs Jackie ReedBedford & District Cat Club Show25th April 2009Many thanks for the invite and hospitality to judge here at my favourite venue. Thanks also to Pat for her Company and care of our charges. P.S. The PicknMix took me back a zillion years to my childhood! Special mention for my choice of BOV Oriental, an OLH Kitten – Holder’s Mylynn Magnifique who then went to the top of the tree by becoming Overall Best In Show. Congratulations – aptly named! IMPERIAL CASS AC GR CH SIAMESE/BALINESE ADULT MALE1 + IGC MULLEN’S GR CH JOHPAS RED RUUDI (32a) 6/10/05Macho red chap who has a strong even wedge with minimal pinch, good topline with large open based ears, straight profile, chin rounds slightly but bite is level, oriental vivid blue eyes, good length of neck and strong muscled body, tail is short and a little heavy – shows signs of treated stud tail – long legs. Pleasing bright red/gold points – even has stockings evident, off white coat showing tonal shading with a few ghost bars and spots to sides, coat long and open in his excitement, touch dry to back. Had a severe hissy fit when we returned him to his Pen – however I was pleased to see later in the day he was quite composed. HAVANA ADULT FEMALE1 (CC and BOB w/h) SHARP-POPPLE’S DENSON LOUISIANA 31/8/07Rather fine and dainty lady with a long wedge with pronounced pinch, ears of good size but requiring more width between and she tends to bonnet them, small depression evident, almost straight profile, eyes full in shape but of a lovely green, bright and expressive, good chin and bite, fine body and long whip with dainty legs. Warm but patchy and unsound coat of an excellent texture. ORIENTAL BLUE ADULT1 (CC and BOB w/h) SAXON’S CH TIJANMEEK MERCEDES 19/4/07A nice solid girl of reasonably good type with a medium wedge rather square to muzzle line, ears of good size and setm eyes of a good shape and depth of green but showing a permanent squint to both eyes, bump to nose on profile, firm chin, bite marginally undershot, quite a pronounced bump to back of skull, firm well nourished body and balancing whip tail. Very dark blue coat – this not sound- her coat qualities were super though. ORIENTAL BI COLOUR ADULT INTERMEDIATE1 IC and BOB SMITH’S FIROUSI FORYOUREYESONLY (48 40 d) 29/4/07A small and stocky red colour point chap whose type overall was good with a short strong wedge and well set ears although ideally these could be larger, oriental eye shape– rather pale blue in colour – small pinch, almost straight profile, chin could have a little more depth and strength although bite ok, strong little body compact and muscled, tail rather heavy – there was quite an area of greasy stud tail which required attention and this combined with the fact that he also had chin acne almost cost him his certificate. Difficult I know to keep on top of with young adolescent lads and in partic with red and cream series in whatever guise but it needs attending to.I think he has a much higher than minimal third of white but with this colour it is hard to tell until completely coloured up, his red rather a flat tone but prob due to ‘and white’ gene.White showing to mask and around muzzle , up legs and under belly area.Coat very dry to the feel – probably once again hormonal. AC ORIENTAL ADULT NOT BRED BY EXHIBITORI regret I could make ‘no award’ per SOP to the only entry in this Class CLAY’S METEXA MARQUESA (37h) as she had a very evident white spot in her ‘bikini’ area – this confirmed by a Senior Judge of the Breed. Her type was good with a long wedge - quite a pinch evident though, ears of good size – just tending to bonnet them, eyes of good shape but of a slightly yellow/green tone, small dip to profile, chin rounds off slightly but bite is ok.Long and elegant bodyline and balancing whip tail. She does have a very pleasing rich red hue to her coat intermingled to warm base chocolate tone, her coat short and sleek. AC ORIENTAL ADOLESCENT ADULTI regret I could make ‘no award’ per SOP to the only entry in this Class CLAY’S METEXA MARQUESA (37h) as she had a very evident white spot in her ‘bikini’ area – this confirmed by a Senior Judge of the Breed. AC ORIENTAL KITTENThe first 3 kittens in this Class were of the highest quality. 1 HOLDER’S MYLYNN MAGNIFIQUE (62 18 )M 5/9/08He truly is magnificent in build, type and temperament. Leonine head with firm straight profile with wide jug handle ears and perpendicular jaw line, minimal pinch, oriental deep green eyes with a trusting gentle expression, long neck and body - this firmly proportioned and length of tail to balance, churlish to mention the rather heavy legs and paws I know but hey ho……the coat of a superb texture , silky and fine and developing length already, silver pushes well up the hair shaft which does distort the tabby pattern somewhat however the spine line is breaking, his facial tracing are beautifully etched, black solid tip to tail with tail rings evident, pattern to side is uniform and the legs show bars and a few spots 2 MAISH’S CHIKUAI CALYPSO (37h) 23/10/08Really rich warm ori choc tortie – I did think cinnamon from outside the pen but her nose leather and paw pads appear more pinkish brown rather than pink or cinnamon. Long strong even wedge with wide topline and minimal pinch , straight profile, oriental bright green eyes with good depth to chin and level bite, long neck and feminine body line , fine whip tail, stands tall on elegant legs and neat paws. Rich warm chocolate well broken with bright red tones, her coat and close fitting. Unlucky to meet Mr Magnificent ! 3 WILDON’S SUNJADE SILKMOTH (45K) F 15/10/08First time ever I have placed this lady down the order, which is testament to the quality of the Class. AC ORIENTAL VISITORS NEUTER1 WEAVER’S PR SUNJADE SKIPPER (37K) MN 27/10/07A cinnamon lad of lovely type – a bit of a grouch though which is a shame. Strong wedge with well set ears which ideally need to be more open to the base, and firm depth to chin, eyes a touch straight in set of bright green tone, straight strong profile with good depth of chin, tiny pinch, level bite, long well nourished body with balancing tail just a heavy. Warm rich coat tone –some ghost barring to legs evident. Short well prepared close coat. 2 LOWELL’S PR SUSPIRIA WILLIAM BECKFORD (37K) MN 21/4/07A large cinnamon lad with a strong medium wedge , quite a pinch evident, large ears that need a touch more width between, straight profile, eyes of good shape when relaxed back in pen and of bright green tone, good chin and bite, long very substantial body and quite heavy legs, tail needs another 1” or 2” and is rather heavy.Rather patchy unsound coat and had obviously been prepared with a substance that left a rather ‘glittery;’ effect! 3 WILLIAMS& MARSH PATCHESTY IGGLEPIGGLE (41n) MN 8/6/08AC SIAMESE BREEDERS KITTEN1 COWLING’S ANDALYN CHARISMA (32/1) F 18/10/08A very worried seal tabby miss but I liked her type and style. Short wedge just a little fine to muzzle with small kitten pinch, lovely wide based ears set with good width between, her eyes were very full in fear until she returned to her pen – they appeared of a good depth of blue but her pupils were dilated in her anxiety, straight profile and firm chin albeit a little narrow, level bite, short firm body and long fine whip tail, slender legs, warm dark points and her pattern well defined with pressed thumbprints and ribbons, whisker spots, broken leg bracelets, tail well ringed for ¾ of length, coat short and close fitting – just a touch too white in tone as yet. 2 w/h 3 ROSS’ WILLOWSILK STAR LEO (61nt) M 22/9/08I withheld 2nd in this important Class as this caramel tabby Balinese lad lacks Siamese type and has a permanent fixed squint to both eyes and I hope he is not destined for use as a stud! Short wedge with square muzzle, ears small in size , set close and as a result held upright, eyes full in shape, pale in colour and with a squint, dip to profile, level bite, long body and length of tail, heavy legs and paws. Points appear more of a dark blue hue at present however his coat colour is muddy in tone, lacking in thumbprints, facial tracings quite well etched, tail has a couple of ghost rings evident, broken and smudged leg bracelets, coat is of a good texture and pleasing length with a good plume evident. AC SIAMESE/BALINESE DEBUTANTE KITTEN1 COWLING’S ANDALYN CHARISMA (32/1) F 18/10/082 GODDARD’S DEBIKAT MARMALADY (32/3) F 24/12/08Choc tabby miss of good type however her ears only just fit her at present and I feel in a couple of months she will have grown thru them. Lovely roman profile to her neat wedge, small pinch, eyes a touch straight but of good depth of blue, firm chin and level bite, short plump little body with fine whip. Points rather cold in tone, faint thumbprints, lacking facial tracings as yet and bracelets, tail shows rings for half of length, body of a dark ivory and her coat was a little long and very dry to the feel. 3 STEWART’S JOMESE JOYTOTHEWORLD (32/3)F 6/11/08I was convinced this was the wrong dob for this kitten and sent Pat to check. It was correct so I can only presume she had something during her time that stopped her growth for a period. Shame as she has nice type – lets hope she catches up. AC VISITORS KITTEN1 HARRIS’ SHERMESE PEGASUS (32/1) MN 10/9/08Seal tabby lad of good type. Long wedge just a little too sharp to muzzle line at present, ears reasonably large in size, need a little more width between to balance the lines, eyes of good shape, set and colour, almost straight profile, chin could have a little more depth, bite ok, long neck and body – firm feel to it – very long fine whip tail. Points rather cold toned , ticked base and therefore the pattern lacked a little in clarity obviously as a result. Coat a touch long and dry. I made no other award in this class – I was particularly concerned by the condition and size of Exhibit no 454 a red point male kitten who was nearly Adult and lacked any weight and substance and indeed was already suffering from severe chin acne. AC SIAMESE/BALINESE NEUTER1 CROWLEY/LAMBERT JOHPAS RAFAEL (32fn) MN 7/11/07Lovely apricot lad of good growth with roman profile, ears large and well set, oriental bright blue eyes, chin ebbs away and his bite fractionally over, long neck - he uses well – long well toned muscular body and balancing whip tail, long legs. Points of good tone – hot and dusky with a real glow to the body evident – coat fits like a glove. AC SIAMESE/BALINESE DEBUTANTE NEUTER1 FREEMAN’S CH KRISTIKATS SERAPHINA (24c) FN 9/12/06A substantial lady of good type. Strong wedge with large ears she tends to bonnet at times, eyes of good shape, set and colour, tiny dip to profile, good chin and clean level bite, long neck and body – this comfortably padded! – tail rather short. Points of good pinky grey tone – a little darker to tail, this shows typical ghost ringing. Warm magnolia coat – virtually unshaded and coat well prepared. AC SIAMESE/BALINESE LIMIT NEUTER1 BOND’S JOHPAS RED BREEZER (32A) 6/10/05A rather grumpy pants this red lad – but we were able to handle and assess him. Medium wedge, slighly long in forehead in profile, ears of good size needing a little more width between them, tiny bump to nose, eyes of good shape a touch straight in set, good depth of blue to them, god chin and bite.Long body and whip tail that balances, stands tall on elegant legs. Pleasing brightness to the points – quite well matched, some tonal shading, coat of very good texture just a little long and open. 2 WEAVER’S BRYTHAIS BLUE TOPAZ (24a)MN 28/5/08Still looking immature and a touch ‘girly’ and I must admit I feel he is blue based caramel and would probably have a better show career if reregistered as such! Medium wedge with small pinch, ears of good size – held a little too high, small rise over brow in profile, eyes of good shape and set and vivid blue, chin a touch shallow but bite level. Body short and needing to lengthen out, tail good whip just needs another inch. Points very dark slate toned and heavily shaded – the points starting to develop a brown overtone to them. AC SIAMESE/BALINESE JUNIOR NEUTER1 CROWLEY/LAMBERT JOHPAS RAFAEL (32fn) MN 7/11/072 PEREIRA’S YELOPERYL SOLSTICE MOONBEAM (32fn) MN 11/11/07Long wedge with pronounced pinch, ears of a good size but needing more width between to balance the lines, eyes of good shape but the colour needs more depth, almost straight profile, chin and bite ok, long neck and body, tail of good length - little bump near tip. His points are rather mismatched being of a very good apricot hot hue to hocks and tail, the ears , mask and front legs being softer in tone and more inclined to a dark cream at present, Coat also of a warm white and at present lacks the ‘glowing’ hot look of an apricot. Coat well prepared.
