Bristol & District Cat Club Show 18th April 2009

John Hansson

Much appreciation to the family ‘Robinson’ for the excellent hospitality & excellent show, for which they are renowned, to Elaine & Lisa as always delightful hosts who have a wonderful sense of humour, John as hall manager working to ensure that everything runs smoothly, plus assisted helpers too many to mention. My thanks again for the invitation, to Hayden for his stewarding well done. I thoroughly enjoyed selecting the overall Best Exhibit, the winner of which looked quite superb & well worthy of her relatively new high title, the very lovely IMP GR CH PAPAGENA VERA BARONEL, owned by Anna Virtue & bred by Lady Yardley, oozed ‘Burmese’

AV Foreign Imperial Grand Premier Male;

Imperial Grand Premier Not Awarded, 1st EGAN’S GR PR ZAWADI HAMSINI. 76 30. 09-11-04.

Brown Spotted Bengal, in most respects a handsome & very masculine looking lad. His head though possessing width at his high cheeks in is just a little on the longer side, gentle rounding to his skull, nose a little too straight, chin firm, bite good. Ears medium size, slightly wide at their base, rounded tips. The eyes are large rounded oval shape, very good colour green. Strong neck , excellent long muscular body, with strong legs & good sized paws, tail broad at its base, with slight taper, medium length & thickness. Coat was a little on the longer side with a slightly more woolly texture, soft but not the beautiful luxurious feel, which at this level is essential. Though Ideally I would have preferred more dramatic contrast to his pattern elements, the body pattern showed varied shape to the spotting, very well marked facial tracings with multi cheek flashes, well defined ‘M’ on the brow, leg bracelets with spotting towards the toes, well marked tail rings. For preference the ground colour could be richer & more intense which would have given better sharpness to the pattern, black heels & tail tip, pale near white chin & muzzle with some evidence of chin strap. Very composed gentle nature, excellent condition.

AV Foreign Imperial Grand Premier Female; Imperial Grand Premier.

ARNOLD’S UK IMP GR CH & GR PR PAPAVER CRESSIDA. 33 31s. 30-04-98.

Black Smoke & White Cornish Rex, gorgeous lady of some quality & presence, age no barrier to her considerable good qualities. She has an excellent ‘Cornish’ head, a little longer than wide, sculpted effect to her high well defined cheeks, narrowing to a rounded muzzle, profile has flat plane to the brow between the ears, with strong profile, excellent chin plus as a bonus despite her age, all her teeth & level bite. Ears are large & most beautifully set typifying that so ‘Cornish’ look, being quite high, with wide base & elusive mussel shell shape. Sultry eyes of full oval shape with slight hint of slant, green with amber flecking (no points, so perfectly permissible), wonderfully trusting. Still has an elegant neckline & the toned body that a much younger exhibit would be proud of, slim legs, neat oval paws, tail fine & yes it could be a little longer. Her coat is most impressive with its short beautifully soft texture, with beautifully rippled waves over its entirety, softer ripples down the inside of the front legs, the covering at the base of the tail a little thin, but still with wave after the half-way stage. Her pattern & colour combination suit her beautifully with her clean white areas showing against the black smoke, attractive tuxedo effect, white paws, with stunning set of crinkled & curling white whiskers & eyebrows. Her condition was superb & her temperament charm personified. She was later Best Foreign Exhibit & was a contender in the final line up for Overall Best In Show, delightful lady.

Res Imperial Grand Premier, WILLIAMS’S GR PR SANTILLO JASMIN. 78 30s. 03-07-07.

Black Spotted Egyptian Mau, a very mature impressive looking lady of very good type. Head has moderate wedge, with the muzzle flowing into the contours of the cheeks, nose of good uniform width, level brow, good muzzle, slight rise at the nasal bridge, her chin, could be marginally deeper, bite good. Ears medium size, with slight flare to the base & plenty of width between, cupped forward, tiny tufted tips. Large wide almond shaped eyes, set straight with slight slant upwards on the lower line, most pleasing gooseberry green tone, possessing the required worried expression. Body was very well grown with a slight tendency to rounding on the waistline, elegant legs, oval paws, slightly thicker base to the gently tapering medium length tail. Close lying medium length coat, very good degree of density giving it a very resilient texture, with a very good degree of sheen on the surface. Spotted whisker pads, well traced cheek ribbons, ‘M’ on the brow, with some thumbprints of the ears, small spots on the shoulder blade areas, with larger spots along the length of the body, the leg bracelets evident, tail rings better towards the tip showing some brindling towards the base, the pattern elements of charcoal grey on a silver ground colour. Black heels & tail tip, with well coloured brick nose leather. Her condition was excellent, quite a composed lady.

AOV SLH Grand Champion Male;

GR CH MITCHELL’S CH ADSETLO MERDENS SON. 66. 28-07-07.

 Seal Colourpointed Ragdoll, well grown lad of generally very good type. Head has good breadth both across & between the cheeks, well filled, well developed muzzle, flat plane to his brow, gentle dip in profile, slight retrousse nose tip, chin tapers a little, bite good. Ears medium size & set well, rounded tips, good inner ear furnishings, just enough evidence of forward tilt. Eyes quite large & open, a gentle oblique setting, quite a good depth of blue, could have a touch more brilliance to the tone. Body is quite firm & well developed, the length good, firm legs & paws, good bushy tail, slightly tapered, I would ideally prefer it a little longer. Good fullness of coat well prepared, silky texture, good full ruff & knickerbockers. The coat though shady still had a very good degree of contrast to the dense seal points, with the exception of some brindling on the tail. His condition & temperament both excellent.

AOV SLH Grand Champion, Female;

GR CH FITTEN’S CH FINEARTE ZEPHYR ROSE. 66 31a. 17-08-06.

 Blue Bi-Coloured Ragdoll, better out than in, looking very attractive & such a gentle look about her. Good width to her head, good breadth to her cheeks, well developed muzzle, flat brow, gentle dip with slightly retrousse nose tip, good chin, untidy bite. Ears well placed medium size, gentle forward tilt, well furnished interiors. Well open large eyes with slightly oblique slant, bright deep blue eye colour. Body has good length & was well proportioned with good sturdy medium legs & tufted paws, quite a well balanced length of tail with reasonably furnished brush effect. Soft silky texture to the coat, which was well presented (but her nose leather required a little tidy up), some evidence of ruff, longer on the tummy & with good knickerbockers. Balanced inverted white blaze on the face, which extends well through the chin, chest, tummy & front legs, the back legs white to the line of the body, patch of white on the shoulders & another on the lower back, soft blue shading on the neck & back, the remainder of the points, mask, ears & tail a slightly dark shade of even blue. Her condition was excellent & her demeanour very gentle.

RES GR CH MITCHELL’S CH DRAUPNIR LITTLE- MISSCOCO. 66e. 29-07-07.

Seal Colourpointed Ragdoll, excellent size & lovely condition, initially appeared to be my winner. Head on very impressive, with breadth both across & to the actual cheeks, strong muzzle, good flat plane to the brow, has gentle concave curve at the brow line as opposed to gentle dip & as a result lacks the more distinctive retrousse tip to the nose, good depth chin, bite good. Ears have rounded tips, set well apart, showing gentle forward tilt, good inner furnishings. Slightly oblique setting to the eyes which are well open & good larger size, the colour showing a very good depth of blue. Lovely firm well proportioned body, good bone to the medium legs, good paws, well balanced full bushy tail. Coat well prepared, very good density, silky texture, full knickerbockers, the ruff could be a little fuller. Body has some very light mottled shading with excellent contrast to the points, dense seal base colour but a little low on the red, with one back leg appearing solid & also her left ear. Her condition was excellent, very amicable temperament.

 British Grand Champion, Male;

GR CH Not Awarded. 1st YOUNG’S CH HARLEME HENRY COOPURR. 16. 10-08-07.

Blue, this lad had a lovely coat but was quite difficult & would not allow adequate assessment to justify awarding the certificate. His head though appearing rounded this was to some degree optical due to his developing jowls, though ideally the cheeks could be fuller & the muzzle a little broader for balance, rounded brow line, reasonable chin, would not allow his mouth to be examined. Ears set well if slightly open at their base, medium size. Looking a fraction hooded on the eyes, which though round were marginally deep set, the colour taking account of the vagaries in the lighting conditions appeared to be very good, golden orange tone. Chunky compact body shape, good breadth chest, well boned legs, round paws, medium length moderately heavy tail. He has a really super dense, quite short crisp coat, with a lovely scrunchy feel to it. Medium shade of blue with some tipping but nothing excessive, could be a little sounder. His condition was excellent, very tense & despite a number of attempts during the morning he was not going to co-operate, so there seemed little point in stressing him further in order to prove a point.

British Grand Champion, Female;

GR CH. GARDNER’S CH LORASTON FIORRA MAYE. 22a. 10-06-05.

Blue Tortie & White, very substantial mature queen of very good type. Full fat face with filled broad cheeks, rounded brow, broad nose, chin & bite both good. Medium size ears which were placed well apart & fitted well into the head shape. Large well open rounded shape to the eyes, the colour a golden bright orange ( & we did take a walk over to daylight to confirm. Excellent body substance & depth, broad chest, square compact body, strong well boned medium length legs & good size paws, broad heavy medium length tail. Dense thick coat which could perhaps have been marginally shorter but with a good degree of crispness to it. Inverted white on her face, clean white collar line, the patches of blue & cream large & with generally good contrast however there are a number of white hairs here & there which could have been tidied up to sharpen it a little, approximately 1/3 white to colour, the white areas clean & well presented, mid blue & slightly warm cream patches. Her condition was splendid & her temperament most agreeable.

No Other Awards.

 KEELING’S CH GOSPRITLEY BRIGITTE BARDOT. 39. 07-04-08.

Black Tipped, very small girl lacking in substance & development. At only just over a year she has a great deal of growth to achieve before she can aspire to this level of certificate, hence I did not feel I could justify an award. Head still looking very adolescent lacking in fullness & rounding at the cheeks, rounded brow, slightly sharp muzzle with a pinch, her chin & bite both good. Reasonably small ears, which she tends to hold a little high. Large eyes, black pigmented line surrounding, quite large & well open, dual yellow green tone which may well have been better in natural light, showing a slight degree of squint to the left eye. Body is rather light in weight & requires a much greater degree of substance, rather narrow body, the legs somewhat slender, more oval paws, tail in proportion to the body. Her coat has a very good degree of crispness & density to it, good for length. Clear silver undercoat with tipping over the body deepening off slightly on the lower back & tail, silver chest, tummy & beneath the tail. Black lips & paw pads, with brick coloured nose leather. Her condition was very good & her temperament was quite charming, she really needs to have a litter of kittens to broaden off & hopefully develop a more grown up shape & appearance.

Oriental Grand Premier, Male; GR PR & RES GR PR Not Awarded.

 1st CLOTHIER’S PR KASSALIC ROBIN REDFEET. 37d. 07-05-07.

Red, rather dainty & fine boned for a male for my preference. Head though showing a very impressive even wedge lacked masculine strength being a little on the narrow side, excellent profile, chin requires a little more depth, missing upper incisors. Ears are medium sized & have quite good width to their base, but does tend to prick a little. Quite an extreme shape to his oriental eyes, the colour requiring more evidence of green, whilst I have no doubt that the light drained the colour his only appeared to be a hazel tone, & as result lacked brightness. Good neckline, lithe rather lean body which required more masculine substance, slender slim legs, neat oval paws, fine whiptail of quite well balanced length. Tended to fluff his coat intermittently & as result looked a little on the long side, not laying as close & sleek as I would have wished. Colour quite a bright shade of red showing some degree of pattern but nothing which was too sharply contrasted, it was also virtually sound. His condition appeared to be very good, handled well but very grumbly.

2nd CLOTHIER’S PR KASSILIC ARTHUROHEARTS. 37fn. 12-12-07.

 Apricot, this lad also required a greater degree of head strength to give presence. Rather narrow wedge, medium length, the actual head requires a greater degree of depth to give a more masculine appearance, very good profile despite the very slightest of rises on the nose, chin shallow, bite over & untidy, some gingivitis. Ears require more size & flare to give the head more balance, he also carries these rather too high. Oriental shape & slant to the eyes, pale green tone. Slender neck, body again rather too fine & dainty for a boy, particularly of his age, slim legs, small oval paws, fine tail requires an inch or so. His coat though a little on the longer side was close lying & well prepared. Hot sandy even toned Apricot with the exception of the slightly deeper tone on the ears, hocks & tail, the usual flat tone throughout. His condition & temperament were both very good.

 AC Colourpointed or Mitted Ragdoll Kitten, Male;

 1st & BOB. GLEDSTONE’S ADATELO JOSEPH. 66. 13-08-08.

Seal Colourpointed, very handsome quality kitten who looked splendid. Beautifully grown & well proportioned throughout. Excellent head type, broad wedge, well filled out cheeks, the muzzle well developed, brow line showing flat plane, gentle dip the retrousse nose tip, firm chin, bite excellent. Ears are very well set & with good width to their base, rounded on the tips, well furnished interiors, slight amount of forward tilt. Large well open eyes in a slight oblique setting, excellent depth of vivid blue. Lovely muscular build for his young age, with well boned legs, good size paws, well balanced length gently tapering, full bushy tail. Coat was really excellent having an impressive degree of density, soft texture, excellent length already with a very good full ruff & knickerbockers. Virtually clear light beige body colour, with merest hint of light tonal shading, excellent contrast to the very dense well matched almost complete seal points. His condition was superb & he has such an air of confidence & presence for one so young, very promising.

AC Colourpointed or Mitted Ragdoll Kitten, Female;

1st MARJASON’S CHICCATS CLOVER WEARMARBEAR. 66w. 13-09-08.

Seal Pointed Mitted, pleasing type, attractive kitten, with such a gentle look about her. Head showing very good width across the rounded cheeks & between the eyes, well developed muzzle, good flat brow line, gentle dip to nose with slightly retrousse nose tip, chin reasonable depth, bite good. Medium size ears, with rounded tips, good inner furnishings, touch of forward tilt, set well. Eyes moderately large, well open & slightly oblique setting, the colour requiring a little more depth. Body quite firm, starting to lengthen, well proportioned legs & paws, tail has quite a full brush, quite well balanced length. Well prepared coat, excellent soft texture, good length already evident, with reasonable degree of ruff development & good knickerbockers. The body has some warm beige tonal shading, her points are showing a good degree of density & with a good degree of warmth to the seal, white chin extending through the chest & tummy line, with white mittens on the front paws & to just about the hock line on the back, little white flick on the brow & nose not so often seen these days. Her condition excellent, lovely personality.

2nd EVAN’S ADNIOLO MARIE-BELLE. 66. 14-08-08.

Seal Colourpointed, slightly cobby at this stage & could be a little larger. Head showing good breadth across the cheeks, quite a good muzzle, flat plane to the brow, gentle dip with retrousse tip to the nose, chin requires a little more depth, bite good. Medium size ears set well apart, good inner furnishings, hint of forward tilt. Eyes are well open & slightly oblique, the colour a tad dull, requiring a little more depth. Body still to lengthen more, good legs & paws, good full brush but I would have liked it longer. Very good length & density to her coat, which was well prepared, with a very good soft texture, good amount of ruff becoming evident & full knickerbockers. Slightly shady beige body but nothing excessive, contrast will be more defined when her points densen & complete, still with some brindling evident. Her condition was excellent & her temperament charming.

3rd LYE’S ROSYPOSY DRESS TO IMPRESS. 66gw. 11-10-08.

Blue Tortie Pointed Mitted, this girl was looking a little out of balance & her temperament left something to be desired. Head is as yet, rather too narrow & as a result looks a mite long, the cheeks need to be broader & fuller, reasonable muzzle, slightly more rounded than flat on the brow, gentle dip with retrousse tip to the nose. Ears medium size, just a little too pricked & lacks the slight forward tilt. Eyes quite large, well open shape & gentle oblique setting, good depth of blue. Body is developing good length, quite firm, well proportioned legs & tufted paws, good length gently tapering tail, the brush still to develop. Coat has quite good length, her ruff still to come, fluffy tummy & knickerbockers, good texture. Has white mittens on the front with white to the hocks on the back legs, clean white chin chest & tummy, delicate patched shading on the body (very subtle), points well patched including the ears with a large patch of cream on the mask, but the tail rings were very obvious. The blue quite soft slightly warmer toned cream. Her condition was sound worrying degree of attitude for one so young.

AC Bi-Coloured Ragdoll Kitten;

1st & BOB. ALAND’S APPLAUSE SADIE. 66 31. 15-10-08.

Seal, attractive baby of very good type & lovely gentle look. Head showing good width across the cheeks, quite good muzzle, flat plane to the brow, gentle dip to the slightly retrousse nose tip, firm chin, just finished teething, excellent bite. Medium size ears, furnished interiors & wispy base, gentle tilt, set quite well. Eyes large the setting slightly oblique, pleasing bright blue colour. Body showing good development, well proportioned legs & paws, tail could be a little longer, still to achieve a little more fullness to the brush. Well prepared silky soft fine coat, good length, some knickerbockers. Balanced inverted white ‘V’ on the mask, extending through the chin, chest tummy & front legs, back legs white to the line of the body, remainder of the points, mask, ears & tail developing a warm seal brown colour, body light beige shading with white spot present, ting seal spot on the right back leg. Condition excellent, confident young girl, charming temperament.

 Silver Bengal Assessment Neuter;

Merit to PARKES’S LITTLESTAR RAINMAN. 76 30s. 30-04-08.

Spotted, Generally well balanced, even lad of very good type. Head quite broad with well defined cheeks, puffed whisker pads & nose leather, gentle break in profile, good depth chin, bite good. Ears medium size, quite well set. Eyes large & expressive, rounded oval, good green. Excellent body tone, firm & well muscled, good length, well boned legs & paws, tail moderately thick base, medium length. Coat has excellent quality & texture, very luxurious& incredibly soft to the touch, very dense feel. Well marked facial tracings, some chin strap, complicated brow markings, body well spotted, very good contrast even if the silver could be sharper, excellent glistening lustred effect. Excellent condition, he was a little tense & has some tarnish but overall this does unduly detract, pleasing. Speaks the language.

 AC Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest or Siberian Breeders Neuter;

 1st WILKINSON’S COONTASTIC EDUARDO. 64 41s. 29-04-08.

 Black Silver Tabby & White Maine Coon, though still with a degree of maturing to fulfil, he was beautifully grown & his type was generally very pleasing. Head is little longer than wide, his cheeks high & well defined, good square effect to his broad muzzle, gentle concave curve in profile, deep chin, excellent bite. Ears are large & set tall pricked with wide base, well furnished interiors & some tufts giving emphasis to the size. Eyes round in shape, slight obliqueness top the setting, light yellow green tone appeared to be the best description regarding their colour. Good length muscular neck, body long & muscular, creating rectangular appearance, heavy strong bone to his legs, large tufted paws, quite a well balanced length tail which is developing a good degree of flow to it. His coat length is showing promise, with slight ruff beginning to become apparent, slightly shaggy tummy & quite well developed breeches, good degree of density, glossy surface sheen. Inverted white on his face with small black spot on his otherwise pink nose leather & a couple of black whisker spots on the right side of his muzzle, the white extending down his chest & his front legs, good way up the legs on the back, sharply defined against the silver tabby pattern where present, his back is a little solid, facial markings more obvious with some stripes present, pattern better on his sides with good rings on the underside of his tail. Excellent condition & presentation, not completely relaxed, but not in any way difficult.

AC Ocicat, Bengal or Snowshoe Breeders Adult

1st CAUNTER’S THICKTHORN MADRAS. 73b. 19-09-07.

Chocolate Spotted Ocicat, most mature in the class as her age would suggest, possessing the lithe athletic appearance as should be the case with her breed. Head has a moderate wedge, slightly longer than wide, with gentle curve beneath the cheeks, gentle rounded brow, the slight rise at the nasal bridge could be just a little more apparent ideally, broad muzzle, giving the impression of squareness, her chin & bite both good. Ears moderately large in size, slightly angular setting, well placed. Eyes wide almond shape, colour light hazel golden tone with slight green rim (no points, so not very relevant). Body has very good length & was showing lovely firm tone, well muscled limbs, oval paws, tail moderately long to balance the body with gentle taper to its tip. Coat has good shorter length, satiny in texture, possessing a very good surface sheen. Well traced facial markings, body spotting is generally well contrasted against the ticked agouti ground of warm chocolate, the bulls eye formation of spots better on one side than the other, broken spine line with smaller spotting on the shoulders, very good leg bracelets & tail rings for most of its length, solid coloured chocolate heels & tail tip. Her condition excellent, quite a reserved albeit gentle nature.

 2nd MCKELL’S LYCHETTROYAL SUZI QUATRO. 76 30. 20-05-08.

 Brown Spotted Bengal, this girl looked better out than in having a more balanced appearance than first impressions suggested. Head has rounded wedge, cheeks well defined, quite a broad muzzle, gentle rounding to the brow, gentle break & slight dip to nose in profile, chin & bite both good. Smaller medium size ears, placed well, tips rounded. Large eyes, full round oval shape, very good green tone. Body is firm & well proportioned for her young age, with well proportioned legs & paws, medium length moderately thick tail. Beautiful coat texture, with a really ultra soft feel to it, pleasing degree of density with a lovely glossy finish enhance by having some evidence of glitter. Clear facial markings, with cheek stripes, complicated ‘m’ & scarab on the brow, body pattern consists varied size & shaped spots some of which were rosetted with darker coloured outline, very good leg bracelets & tail rings, black heel markings well up the hocks. The colour though having the sparkle created by the glitter was otherwise rather pale requiring a greater degree of richness to it which would have made the pattern far more dramatic. Her condition & presentation were both excellent

. 3rd PEACE’S BARIJKA TABOO. 76 20. 15-06-08.

Brown Marbled Bengal, this girl has the colour which really contrasted sharply against the pattern, but still looking a little juvenile in type, which at her age is understandable & maturity should alter . Head typically slightly small in relation to the body, pleasing rounded wedge, quite well defined cheeks, well developed muzzle, quite a good chi & the bite good, widely set canines. Smaller medium size ears, nicely rounded effect to the tips, set well. Eyes well open almost round full oval shape, bright green colour. Body developing well, lithe yet firm with good length becoming evident, just requiring a degree of maturity to give finish, well proportioned legs, round paws, tail of medium length & thickness, very good density to her coat, which was very soft to the touch, medium length. Quite a dramatic effect to her marbled pattern, which though initially looking very symmetrical is not to be confused with ‘Classic’, hers is more scrolled along the body, very clear facial striations with the cheek flashes almost making a chin strap, complicated scarab on the brow, broad linked tail rings, wide leg bracelets. Rich tawny orange ground colour with as a result sharply contrasted pattern in black. Very gentle nature lady, excellent condition, just to mature a little more fully.

 AC Ocicat, Bengal or Snowshoe Non-Breeders Adult;

 1st GRIMMETT’S BITZAGLITZ STORM PRINCE. 83aw. 21-06-07.

 Blue Pointed Snowshoe, extremely fussy chap, but a little compact in body shape. Moderate broad wedge, the muzzle a little pointed, flat brow with gentle slope to the forehead, straight nose, chin very weak, bite okay. Ears more of a smaller medium size, quite alert following the wedge,. Eyes very good depth of blue, slightly more almond than walnut shaped. Body was firm but required a little more length, looking just a little too cobby in shape, slim legs, short oval paws, slightly broader base gently tapering medium length tail. Coat has a slightly more woolly texture than smooth & resilient. Low white inverted blaze, some white on all the paws, white chest, not completely white tummy, quite extensively shaded & requires more contrast to the points form the body colour, he is also becoming almost hooded, points quite a dark shade of blue. He has some staining on his paws, physical condition excellent, loved being handled & chirruped & purred constantly.

2nd BAILEY’S COLDNEUFFORSNOW XSHU XSHU. 83aw. 18-06-08.

Blue Pointed Snowshoe, very small & fine for her age. Head requires more width to her wedge, good muzzle, some rounding to the contours, brow quite flat, with the appearance to two planes in profile created by the gentle slope at the brow line, chin could be a little deeper, bite good. Ears medium size, tending to prick a little high. Eyes of slightly straight setting & rather deep set also, lacking the required walnut shape having a definite oriental, bright blue but the colour could be deeper. Body has good length but rather narrow & fine, legs rather dainty & fine boned, oval paws, well balanced tail. Coat medium length, reasonably smooth & with a good degree of resilience but lacking glossy shine. Quite a lot of white, with a small blue patch on the nose, white on all the legs the remainder of the points blue, some light tonal blue body colouration. Condition good, not the sweetest of temperaments.

AC Ocicat, Bengal or Snowshoe Breeders Kitten;

1st PEACE’S BARIJKA PSYCHE. 76 30. 31-08-08.

Brown Spotted Bengal, gorgeous type kitten. Excellent head with its broad medium wedge & rounded contours, a little longer than wide, high cheeks, well defined broad puffed muzzle & nose leather, profile, has gentle curve, strong chin, excellent chin & bite, wide canines. Ears medium size, to be critical she does prick them a little tall on occasion, rounded tips. Eyes large in size full oval shape, excellent green tone. Body is beautifully firm & developing good length, strong legs, paws quite large & rounded, tail perhaps marginally long & a little finer than ideal but also has a small irregularity at its tip. Gorgeous coat, short & very dense, wonderful ultra luxurious soft texture with excellent glossy sheen. Excellent pattern contrast which was beautifully defined with multi rosetted spotting along the body & excellent spotted tummy also, lovely clear facial tracings, multi cheek ribbons, clear ‘M’ with complicated brow markings also, clear leg bracelets & tail rings, black heels & tail tip colour. Pattern has extreme contrast to the rich warm ground colour with tawny apricot becoming evident. Her condition was excellent, quite an amicable young miss, lovely kitten.

 2nd LEWIS’S PENTRANCH GUILTY PLEASURE. 76 30. 03-10-08.

Brown Spotted Bengal, much more fluffy kitten all round even taking into effect the allowance for kittens to have longer coats. Head rather short wedge though the width at the cheeks was quite good, muzzle rather fine, gentle curve in profile, chin requires more depth, bite good. Moderately small ears but tends to prick tall, rounded tips. Eyes round in shape, with a definite bluish tinge still evident but this could have been due to the lighting so I did not penalise for this. Body is quite slight as yet, requiring a little more development for her age, legs a little fine boned & the paws quite dainty, medium length tail, with broader base tapering to a fine tip. Coat was long & fluffy, requiring a greater degree of density, texture soft. Reasonable facial tracings but the body pattern rather muted ticked banded spots as opposed to sharp & clearly defined, better leg bracelets, good tail rings. Her colour is a little dull & require more in the way of contrast. Very sweet nature & her condition was sound, somewhat overshadowed by the quality of the winner.

 AC Ocicat, Bengal or Snowshoe Non-Breeders Kitten;

1st FINCH’S ZAWADI FIRECRACKER. 76 30. 21-11-08.

Brown Spotted Bengal, well grown kitten with some very good qualities. Head still a little long for its width, cheeks quite high but to broaden off to give a more rounded wedge, in profile rather too straight in the nose, very good muzzle, strong chin, good bite, despite teething & swollen gums as a result. Ears marginally on the larger size & he does tend to carry these a little tall, rounded tips. Quite large eyes, full wide oval shape, green colour. Body has good length, with good bone to the legs & quite large paws, tail a little too long & fine, with a small kink at its tip. Coat slightly long but not out of keeping with his age, very good texture, some glitter already becoming apparent giving a sheen to the coat. Excellent facial markings, spotted whisker pads, cheek stripes, good brow markings, spots of varied size, with well marked leg bracelets & tail rings, black tip to the tail & well up the hocks. Pleasing degree of warmth to the colour & very good contrast to the pattern. Excellent condition, bit of a grump.

AC Ocicat, Bengal or Snowshoe Non-Breeders Neuter;

1st PARKES’S LITTLESTAR RAINMAN. 76 30s.
2nd EGAN’S GR CH & IMP GR PR ZAWADI SHAMWARI. 76 30. 26-06-06.

Brown Spotted Bengal, mature looking lad of very good type & masculine appearance. Head though perhaps marginally long, possessed good width to the high cheeks, quite well puffed whisker pads, rounded top with gentle break, chin & bite both good. Ears could be slightly smaller ideally, rounded tips, set well. Eyes large full rounded wide oval shape, good green tone. Strong neck, powerful masculine body of good length, well boned strong legs, large paws, moderately thick well balanced medium length tail. His coat though impressively soft was altogether rather too woolly & lacked the required sleekness that is typical. Colour has good degree of brightness with some glitter evident, rich tawny tones to the undercoat. Very well marked facial tracings, double cheek stripes, complicated brow markings, body pattern showing varied shaped spots, excellent spotted tummy, clear leg markings & very good tail rings, black heels & tail tip. His condition was excellent, a very placid gentle lad.

3rd HELLIER’S NEWTONS MOONLIGHT SERENADE. 76 30. 28-04-08.

Brown Spotted Bengal, extremely worried miss who was impossible to assess as a result, I really would say it is not in her best interests to be shown.

AV Debutante Oriental, Siamese or Balinese Kitten;

1st SIDNELL’S LOLUJA MISS HOITYTOITY. 24. 23-10-08.

Seal Point Siamese, very well grown kitten, excellent weight. Good length slightly pinched wedge at present probably exacerbated due to teething, profile has a slight dip which is emphasised by the twin splodges where the hair changes direction on the nose, good chin & bite. Large well placed ears, good width at their base. Eyes have pleasing oriental shape & slant, the blue a very good depth & intensity of colour. Good neckline, excellent firm tone to the body, with slim legs & neat paws, quite a well balanced length fine whip tail. Well prepared, short tight fitting coat, very sleek. Cool beige tone to the body, points look slightly cold toned but this may well improve as they become denser & more complete. Her condition & temperament were both excellent, beautifully presented.

2nd RUDGE’S ASHJOLEX SANDIMESE STORM. 48 40n. 04-08-08.

Caramel Pointed Oriental Bi-Colour, not altogether convinced about the Caramel but given the lighting & the amount of white, felt obliged to give the benefit of leeway. Quite broad medium wedge, some degree of pinch, profile developing well, good depth chin, bite good. Ears medium size, wide base, set well. Eyes a little on the fuller side & fractionally straight in set, very good bright deep blue tone. Firm well toned body, slender limbs, neat paws, quite a good length fine whiptail. Excellent short, close lying coat, well presented. Has colour on the ears with small amount of colour on the mask with tiny spots of colour on each point, fully coloured tail, the colour looking more like marginally dark lilac as opposed to sludgy caramel, body has some light tonal shading with the remainder white including the throat chest & tummy with about 55% white at this stage, this may well be less by the time the body colours completely as she matures. Her condition was excellent & she has a very calm relaxed temperament.

3rd VERLANDER’S KAKAI WHATCHAMCALLIT. 37. 30-08-08.

 Oriental Black, AV Maiden Oriental, Siamese or Balinese Kitten;

1st TWYFORD’S KITAMBER HEPIZABAH. 61et. 09-12-08.

Seal Tortie Tabby Point Balinese, not overtly flashy but beautifully balanced even baby who sells herself well. Very even equilateral wedge, excellent profile developing well, good deep chin, excellent bite. Ears are beautifully set in a pleasing fixed position, with wide base, well furnished interiors & soft fronds at their base, very good for size. Excellent vivid blue colour to the eyes which have a very pleasing oriental shape & slant, charming expression. Body still small as yet perfectly in keeping with her age, slender limbs, neat paws, quite good length tail, still to attain its flowing plume. Coat is an excellent length for a baby, following the lines of the body, with all the required soft wispy edges denoting her breed, lovely soft silken texture. Clear coated, very good contrast to her tracings with slight amount of paler red overlaid in a couple of places to indicate her Tortie colouring on her Tabby tracings, tail with rings faintly evident on the underside, quite good facial ribbons. Her temperament was charming, excellent condition.

2nd MATTHEWS & PUGH’S LOLUJA MISS BEHAVE. 32t 1. 23-10-08.

Seal Tortie Tabby Point Siamese, attractive girl withy lovely eyes. Good length wedge, minimal pinch as yet, very good profile, fair chin, bite good. Ears large with good width at their open base, very well set. Eyes typical oriental shape & slanted appearance, with a very bright intense blue colour, most pleasing expression. Good length of neck, body lithe & well toned, slender limbs, oval paws, well balanced fine whip tail. Excellent coat, short & close lying, well prepared sleek finish. Body has light beige tone, excellent contrast to her tabby tracings, some cheek flashes, ‘M’ on the brow, some thumbprints, good leg bracelets, some incomplete tail rings, quite a warm colour which may well have been aided by the tortie, which appeared to be very minimal but evidence found, showing some mottles on the paw pads, & slight hint here & there elsewhere. Her condition was excellent & her temperament quite charming.
