BRISTOL & DISTRICT CAT CLUB SHOW – 18.04.09

SHOW REPORT – MARY KALAL

A friendly show which I thoroughly enjoyed in the very good company of Sue Amor, and I thank Lisa, Elaine and the Club for the excellent hospitality and kind invitation. Many thanks also to Sue for her firm but gentle handling of the cats, attention to detail and support on a busy day, I look forward to the next time.

AC ORIENTAL CHAMPION ADULT, MALE:

1 and GR CH to DAWE CH WESTGARTH FOOLSGOLD (37k) 23.3.08.

A strong but elegant cat with a long muscular body, long fine legs with oval paws and fine tail to balance; large ears of excellent set and flare, medium length even wedge head, slight dip and bump to profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes, slightly deep set but vivid green colour. Long neck, coat short and close, excellent shine and texture and lovely warm cinnamon colour; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

RESERVE to THOMPSON GR CH CLAERPENTON PIMPERNEL (29c) 23.3.07.

A big cat with a charming temperament; long rather heavy tending towards portly body, long legs with oval paws and tapering tail to balance; large ears well set and flared, medium length head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of clear green with a typical expression. Long neck; coat short, close and shining, soft pink-lilac colour, excellent condition and well presented.

AC ORIENTAL CHAMPION ADULT, FEMALE:

1 and GR CH to DAWE CH BARBECCO WALLISIMPSON (37e) 4.10.06.

A beautiful female with a charming expression; long lithe body, fine legs with small oval paws and long fine tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of vivid green colour with an excellent expression. Long neck; coat short, close and shining, well patched and mingled in black and shades of red with a very attractive nose blaze; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

RESERVE to VIGGERS GR CH SANDTUM SUGARNSPICE (37k) 17.3.05.

A pretty little female, rather nervous but she handled well; long firm body, long fine legs with oval paws and long fine tail; large well set ears flared at base, medium length wedge head, almost straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of clear green. Long neck; coat short and close, excellent shine and texture, very faint ghost markings on her head but lovely warm cinnamon colouring; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AC SIAMESE/BALINESE PREMIER NEUTER MALE:

1 and GR PR to BRINE PR LYNNOX MYSYAMEEZ GALILEO (24c) 7.8.06.

A handsome and good natured cat with a long firm body, long fine legs and fine balanced tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of lovely vivid colour with an excellent expression. Long elegant neck, coat short, close and shining with soft lilac points and a clear magnolia toned body colour; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

RESERVE to TALBOT PR MORALYN RED ARROW (32a) 4.3.07.

Another handsome cat with a charming temperament; long firm well muscled body, long fine legs and fine balanced tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced wedge head, almost straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes, colour quite intense with an excellent expression. Long neck; coat short and close with soft red points and a clear warm toned body colour; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AC SIAMESE/BALINESE PREMIER NEUTER, FEMALE:

1 and GR PR to MEEK GR PR SHERMESE CHINA DOLL (24) 8.6.07.

A beautiful female, fine boned and balanced with a long lithe body, long fine legs with small oval paws and long fine tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced even wedge head, almost straight profile with a very slight bump on end of nose, firm chin with depth and level bite; oriental eyes of lovely deep colour and an excellent expression. Long neck, coat short, close and shining, dense seal points, body has some shading in tone but she does have contrast; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

RESERVE to ROBINSON PR NATHIFA DELICATEDREAMER (32b1) 20.6.07.

A lovely female with a super temperament; long firm body, long fine legs with small oval paws and fine tail to balance; large ears of excellent set and flare, even wedge head, almost straight profile, firm chin and level bite; oriental eyes of deep vivid colour, excellent expression. Long neck; coat short, close and shining, points well brindled in shades of dark seal and red, body shaded and patched in tone but, again, she does have contrast; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

SIBERIAN ADULT ASSESSMENT:

Merit to BURN SAPPHIRENSTEEL RUSLAN (82.31t) 5.5.08.

A young male who is strong, balanced and of good type; broad gently rounded head with well developed cheek bones and breadth across his cheeks, ears medium, rounded and well set, rounded muzzle, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, well set, expressive and hazel colour. Strong muscular body with legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered, balanced and well furnished; coat double with a soft basecoat and firm glossy topcoat with an excellent shine showing a black tabby pattern patched with white, full ruff and breeches; excellent temperament and condition, a charming and promising young cat.

Merit to CORRIGAN ADATELO NATALIA-DAX (82.31t) 22.3.08.

A pretty female showing gently rounded contours, ears rounded and wide set, broad head with rounded cheek bones, a slight concave curve to nose of uniform width. Rounded muzzle, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and expressive. Firm body with legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered, balanced and well furnished; coat developing with a thick woolly base and a firm textured topcoat, ruff and breeches developing well; rich red tabby markings patched with white; excellent temperament and condition; she is progressing well and should mature nicely after a litter.

DEVON REX ADULT MALE:

1 and CC to HUMPHREYS REXINTONS POWDER (33a.14a) 9.2.08.

A charming young male with a firm muscular body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered, balanced and well covered; ears large, tufted, wide at base and low set, broad short head, flat skull, break to profile, broad muzzle with whisker break, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set, expressive and green colour. Coat silky and well developed with deep even waves over his body, under-parts covered in very short suede-like fur but he does have some buff coloured staining on his paws and under-parts which spoilt his appearance and presentation (coloured litter?) but he was in excellent physical condition.

DEVON REX ADULT FEMALE:

1 CC and BOB to GRIFFITH ADATESH ICEWITCH (33a.14) 9.7.08.

A beautiful little female of excellent type, coat is a little on the patchy side but she is covered in very short fine fur where the patches occur; ears large, tufted, wide at base and low set, broad short head, flat skull, distinct stop to profile, full cheeks, broad muzzle with whisker break, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and green colour with an excellent expression. Coat has even waves over her back and lower body, pristine white colour, beautifully presented.

2 to SPENCER-MILLS CH GLAMOOR MAGICAL MERMAID (33a36e) 5.1.04.

A pretty little female who has a very good well waved coat; firm lithe body, long legs with oval paws and tapered balanced well covered tail; ears large, tufted, wide at base and low set, balanced head with a flat skull, stop is there but could be more distinct, broad muzzle with whisker break, good chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and expressive, green colour. Long neck, coat silky and very well waved over her body, black colouring well patched in shades of red, excellent condition and well presented.

3 to RICE DIADEM DEMELZA (33a36e) 27.12.07.

A good natured female with a wonderful short silky coat covered in waves but not quite the type of the previous exhibits, ears quite large, tufted, wide at base and well set, head a little long and she needs a more distinct stop to profile, rounded muzzle, good chin and level bite; eyes well set and expressive, silky coat showing a black smoke pattern patched with shades of red; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

USUAL ABYSSINIAN NEUTER:

1 PC and BOB to REEVES PR ANNERA LYNX (23) 20.9.06.

A charming cat with a lithe firm body, long legs with oval paws and long tapered tail slightly thick at base; ears large, tufted and wide set, head slightly long, small break to profile, rounded muzzle with indentation, good chin and level bite; eyes large, full almond shape and hazel colour, dark rimmed, good pigmentation markings on face. Coat short and glossy with a firm feel, very well ticked in black on an apricot base-coat and contrast, some pale cream around his lips and throat, faint broken necklace, short heels, darker dorsal line and tail tip; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

SORREL ABYSSINIAN NEUTER:

1 PC and BOB to GEAR KOPERKAT RAINBOWS END (23a) 3.5.07.

A tense cat who preferred his pen, firm lithe body with legs and oval paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears large, quite wide set, balanced head showing gentle contours, slight break in profile, muzzle a little fine but rounded with indentation, good chin and level bite; eyes of full almond shape and green colour with an excellent expression. Coat short and close with an excellent shine and texture, warm colouring with chocolate ticking on a bright apricot base, darker dorsal line and tail tip, faint broken necklace, good pigmentation markings on face, some pale cream around his lips, chin and throat; excellent condition and well presented.

BENGAL BROWN SPOTTED NEUTER MALE:

1 PC and BOB to EGAN GR CH & IGR PR ZAWADI SHAMWARI (76.30) 26.6.06.

A big strong cat showing excellent boning, firm muscular body with breadth of chest and depth of flank, strong legs with large rounded paws, tail even and balanced; ears moderate rounded and well set, neat balanced head, and curve to broad nose, puffed leather, broad muzzle with whisker break, good chin and level bite. Excellent coat short dense and silky with rosettes arrowheads and spots on a warm buff background covered in glitter; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

EGYPTIAN MAU NEUTER MALE:

1 and PC to CROUCH CWMDARRAN AZRAFF (78.36) 29.6.08.

A strong and well developed young cat with a typically worried expression; long firm body with legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered, balanced and well banded; fairly large ears, rounded and well set, head slightly long, slight curve to nose of uniform width, head curving to a rounded muzzle, good chin and level bite; eyes large, rounded almond shape and gooseberry green. Coat of medium length, close-lying and of excellent shine and texture showing a smoked top coat with the spotted pattern showing through; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

EGYPTIAN MAU NEUTER FEMALE:

BOB to WILLIAMS GR PR SANTILLO JASMIN (78.30s) 3.7.07.

A pretty female with a charming expression; firm body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears of moderate size with rounded tips and well set, balanced head with width across the top curving to a rounded muzzle, good chin and level bite; eyes large, full almond shape and vivid gooseberry green colour, dark rimmed. Coat close and silky showing an excellent black spotted pattern on a clear silvery white background; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

ORIENTAL BICOLOUR NEUTER MALE:

1 IC and BOB to TAYLOR JADEVYN BRYCHAN TROEDMAWR (48.40bt) 19.5.08.

A handsome cat of excellent type, balance and pattern with a long firm well muscled body, long fine legs with small oval paws and long fine well ringed tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced even wedge head, straight profile, firm chin and level bite; oriental eyes of excellent dark blue. Long neck, coat short and close showing a clean edged pattern of chocolate tabby on points with a beige body colour and over one-third white patching; excellent condition and presentation later he was my choice for Best Oriental Neuter – congratulations!

CHOCOLATE POINT SIAMESE ADULT MALE:

BOB to MORT-WILLIAMS IGR CH CHAIROSS DEMETRIUS (24b) 22.4.03.

An elegant male with a long firm well muscled body, long fine legs and long fine tail; large ears well set and flared, long wedge head with a small muzzle pinch, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of excellent vivid blue colour. Long neck, coat short and close, soft warm chocolate points colour with a clear warm toned ivory body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

1 and CC to TAYLOR MAHEREOE KANDASSIE (24b) 29.11.07.

A handsome young male with a long firm body, long fine legs with small oval paws and long fine tail to balance; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of vivid blue. Long neck; coat short and close, points of medium chocolate, body ivory with some top shading on his lower back but very good contrast; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

CHOCOLATE POINT SIAMESE ADULT FEMALE:

1 and CC to CRUMPLER SARNAJES CHERRY BLOSSOM (24b) 3.2.08.

A fine boned and dainty female with a firm lithe body, long fine legs with small oval paws and long fine tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, medium length wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of excellent vivid blue with an excellent expression. Long elegant neck, coat short and close with an excellent shine and texture, soft warm chocolate points and clear ivory body, excellent condition and beautifully presented.

2 to MORGAN ASTRALBLAESE ATALANTA (24b) 22.3.08.

A pretty little female with a firm lithe body, dainty legs and paws, tail fine but needs an extra inch or so to balance; large ears of excellent set and flare, long wedge head with muzzle pinch, slight dip in profile, good chin and level bite; eyes of oriental set but full shape, medium blue colour. Long neck; coat slightly long and open, soft warm chocolate points and ivory body colour; excellent condition and well presented.

LILAC POINT SIAMESE ADULT MALE: CC and BOB not awarded.

1 to MORGAN CH ASTRALBLAESE PEGASUS (24c) 28.5.06.

A young male with a firm lithe body, fine legs with oval paws and fine tail to balance; large well set ears, medium length wedge head which needs more width across his eyes for perfect balance, dip in profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of vivid blue but he has a definite squint, my main reason for not awarding him a certificate today. Coat short but slightly open today, soft lilac points and clear body colour; excellent condition and well presented.

CARAMEL POINT SIAMESE ADULT MALE:

1 CC and BOB to MORGAN CH ASTRALBLAESE PERSEUS (24n) 28.5.06.

A charming male with a long firm body, long fine legs and fine balanced tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced wedge head, very slight dip in profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of lovely deep blue with an excellent expression. Long neck, coat short and close with caramel points and clear cool tone to body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

CARAMEL POINT SIAMESE ADULT FEMALE:

1 and CC to MORGAN ASTRALBLAESE APHRODITE (24n) 22.3.08.

A pretty female, still a little on the immature side but lovely type and balance; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced wedge head, almost straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of lovely deep blue with an excellent expression. Long neck; coat short and close with soft caramel points and clear body colour; excellent condition and well presented.

AC BALINESE ADULT MALE:

1 CC and BOB to SMYTH CH NATHIFA DIAMOND GEEZER (61dt) 16.5.07.

A handsome male of very good type and balance with a long firm body, long legs with oval paws and long tapered plume-like tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, medium length even wedge head, almost straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of dark blue colour with an excellent expression. Silky coat of very good length, close-lying along his back and showing ‘fringes’ along each side; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AC BALINESE ADULT FEMALE:

1 and CC to SMITH JAYMAX HEAVON SENT (61p) 20.6.08.

A good natured female with a long lithe body, dainty legs and paws and long plume-like tail; large well set ears well flared at base, medium length wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of deep vivid blue with an excellent expression. Silky coat, well developed and close-lying along her spine-line but showing ‘fringes’ along her sides, very attractive caramel tortie pattern on her points; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AV NOVICE ADULT:

1 to COOK JOHPAS SABINA PURDITA (32c) 9.5.08.

A beautiful female of excellent type and balance with a firm lithe body, fine legs and paws and fine balanced tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of excellent deep blue. Long elegant neck; coat short and close, excellent shine and texture with soft cream points and a clear warm toned body; excellent condition and presentation.

A beautiful young female, well developed and elegant with a long lithe body, long legs with oval paws and long tapered plume-like tail; ears large, well set and flared, medium length even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of bright green with an excellent expression; silky coat, close-lying but well developed and showing fringes, black shaded pattern over her body on a silvery white base; excellent condition and presentation.
