BRISTOL & DISTRICT

18 APRIL 2009

JUDGE: MRS J WILKINSON

Many thanks to Elaine and Lisa for their kind invitation to judge at this friendly show. My steward for the day was Saffron Rabey who handled all the exhibits with her gentle expertise. I am sure the cats all enjoyed their cuddles as much as I enjoyed my day. I look forward to our next engagement.

CLASS 532 AC PERSIAN NON SELF BREEDERS ADULT

1ST HILL-QUICK’S ELLAQUIN KODA KODAK (8) M 01.01.08

A very masculine brown tabby boy of fifteen months with a beautiful appealing expression. Broad well rounded smooth skull. Tiny ears set wide and low and very well furnished. Very bold round orange eyes. Short nose, deep break, fully formed brick leather. Ample width to cheeks and muzzle. Level bite. Firm chin to balance. Showing very clear markings to head and face. ‘M’ to forehead, unbroken lines running from outer edge of eyes. Clear lines over his head extending to butterflies on his shoulders. Clear spine line and two parallel lines of dense black separated by warm brown ground colour. His flanks however did not show clear oysters although they were just about discernable and the ground colour to his sides was much colder in colour. Fully ringed short bushy tail. Two necklaces to chest and bracelets to legs. Back legs had solid coloured hocks. Excellent soft and full textured coat that had ever hair separated and his owner had obviously spent many careful hours of preparation. He had the most beautiful long curly whiskers and no paling of colour to his chin. A gorgeous boy with the most endearing temperament. My take home cat of the day.

2ND WILSON’S GR CH TYTHERTON TILLTHERE WASYOU (12a2) F 10.08.07

Blue and white bi-colour of twenty months. Good top of head with smooth rounded skull. Small well set ears with excellent width between. Bold round deep orange eyes. Short nose, deep break and broad pink leather. Slightly undershot bite. Good width to cheeks and muzzle. Strong chin. Cobby body of good weight supported by short thick legs. Medium length wide and fully furnished tail to balance. Left ear blue, right ear white with both colours to face. Blue patches to shoulders and left flank which are sound and even in colour. Spots to three legs. Fully coloured tail of darker mid blue. Very well prepared coat that is soft in texture with sparkling white but beginning to lose its fullness. An attractive young lady who today is in full call and not the best of moods.

3RD LOVESY’S CH PERSILUS NEAPOLITANA (12a1) F 20.11.06

A black and white lady of almost two and a half years. Well rounded skull with good width to top of head. Small ears set well. Round orange eyes. Undershot bite. Short nose with deep break and reduced nose leather. A short cobby girl of good bone and weight. Good preparation to topcoat but requiring a little more attention to detail underneath. Head black with white lower half, showing spots of colour under nose and chin. Coloured spots to all legs. Fully coloured tail. Today she unfortunately showed yellowing under her eyes and to her feet. Easy girl to handle.

CLASS 533 AC PERSIAN NON SELF NON BREEDERS ADULT

1ST CLARK’S SHEERBLISS LONGJOHN SILVER (70 51 dw) M 23.02.08

Red shaded and white exotic boy of nearly fourteen months. Mature in development with very broad top of head and smooth rounded skull. Excellent width between tiny well rounded ears set low. Bold round copper eyes. Short nose with deep break. Pink leather with wide nostrils, leather a little narrow. Very full cheeks, slightly undershot bite, excellent width to muzzle. Shallow chin. Very big bone and of excellent size and weight. Broad chest and very rounded rump. Exceptionally stocky standing low on short thick legs. Beautifully presented coat, plush and thick standing away from his body. Today his coat colour showed minimum contrasts to his head and along his spine line and length of tail. The colour was approximately 50% to 50% white on his flanks and sides. Minimum white to face along his top lip line, white bib, four white feet and underbelly. His coat is a rich red which does have some visible tabby markings but he is still young and would expect these to fade. Gentle boy with quiet nature.

2ND THORNBURN’S RIASCATZ DREAM LOVER (12a5t) M 14.02.08

Fourteen month old red tabby and white boy. Broad top to smooth well rounded skull. Well placed medium sized ears. Round copper eyes of good size. Short broad nose with full pink leather. Full cheeks, wide muzzle. Near level bite with concave top incisors. Good depth of chin to balance. Massive boy with excellent bone and weight, a little longer in body with tail length in proportion. Short thick legs. Red to head, ears and forehead which shows a broken ‘M’. Full white collar, chest, legs and underbelly. Red patch to shoulders and red from middle of his back to tip of tail. His tail is fully ringed but held a little tense. Today no other tabby markings discernable to body. Excellent show preparation with every hair separated. His white sparkles and his red is rich and vibrant. Very friendly and talkative lad.

3RD WITHSHIRE’S SHOU CENTENNAL (8) M 01.05.08

Young brown tabby boy of eleven and a half months. Smooth rounded skull with small fully furnished ears that are set low but held a little high giving his top of head a narrower appearance. Round orange eyes a little heavy browed and deep set. Short nose with adequate break and fair sized leather. Full cheeks, muzzle developing. Level bite and firm chin. Good clear tabby facial pattern. Single spine line to body, butterflies discernable but remainder of coat pattern rather diffused. Fully ringed well furnished tail of medium length. Soft coat of shorter length that today was lying quite flat. A gentle boy who is at the ‘teenage’ stage of his development with plenty of time on his side.

CLASS 547 AV DEBUTANTE ADULT

1ST KILMARTIN’S LIONMAINE LIMITED ADITTION (64 41 ew) F 25.06.08

A tortie classic tabby and white Maine Coon female of almost ten months. Good head shape and size, medium in length. Ears tall and tufted, set well apart but could be a little larger for perfection. Yellow gold eyes that are full and round with slight oblique setting. Good cheek bones and full cheeks. Wide nose with slight concave curve to profile. Square in muzzle, firm chin and level bite. A well grown girl with excellent disposition. A medium large body of excellent weight and good bone confirmation. Long fully furnished tail. She has a very warm vibrant coat with clear black tabby markings on a warm copper agouti ground colour overlaid with rich shades of red. Front paws white. Back legs white extending past her hocks. White chest and underbelly that sparkles. Her top coat is glossy and expertly prepared. A very chatty lady with the funniest little squeak when she talks, not Maine Coon like at all but very endearing.

2ND THORNBURN’S ALINDAS JUSTKISS ME (12 2) F 03.07.08

Blue tortie and white female of nine and a half months. Wide top of head with smooth well rounded skull. Small ears set well and showing all three colours with long furnishings. Round eyes of a paler orange shade. Short nose with a good break and a smaller but well proportioned nose leather. Near level bite with concave top incisors. Full cheeks and wide muzzle with good depth of chin to balance. She is small but perfectly formed with very good body weight and bone. Excellent show preparation to soft textured, long full flowing coat. Blue and cream patches of soft pastel shades to her body. Blue patch to her shoulders is just a little darker in tone. Legs predominantly white but all showing some colour. Short, fully furnished blue and cream tail. A sweet tempered girl who was very easy to handle.

3RD CORRIGAN’S ADATELO NATALIA-DAX (82 31dt) F 22.03.08

Very shy, sweet Siberian girl of thirteen months. Medium sized, round tipped ears set wide. Broad round skull. Large amber eyes with slight oblique set. Concave curve to nose. Gently rounded muzzle and chin. Level bite. Short neck and good width to chest. Heavy girl standing on medium length legs. Tapering tail, well furnished and of adequate length. Medium length coat with softer undercoat and coarser top coat especially to back, flanks and tail. A rich red colour showing clear tabby pattern. White to chin. Shown in lovely condition. Sweet quiet nature.

CLASS 563 AC PERSIAN LIMIT KITTEN

1ST FORSTER’S POPUP SALTAN PEPPER (70 12a1) M 21.08.08

Black and white Exotic boy of almost eight months. Well grown of excellent weight and bone conformation. Well rounded smooth skull with good width between neat, round tipped, well placed ears. Very bold round deep orange eyes that give him a beautiful owl like expression. Short broad nose, good break and fully formed pink leather. Good width to cheeks and muzzle. Level bite, firm chin. Predominantly glossy jet black with white chevron to face, three quarter white collar, white underbelly, four white feet and small white patch to rump to left rump. Good sized cobby body standing low on leg with short tail to balance. Dense plush coat standing well away from body, just beginning to shed. Well shown boy in lovely condition just a little unsure of himself today but I understand from his owner it was his first outing.

2ND HENDERSON’S MAVOURNEEN SPELLBOUND (12a2t) M 29.10.08

Blue tabby and white boy of five and a half months. Good width to top of head with smooth rounded skull. Small ears set low and wide with fantastic long curly furnishings. Round orange eyes of good colour that could be larger for perfection. Short snub nose with fully formed leather. Near level bite. Full cheeks, wide muzzle. Good depth of chin to balance. He is exceptionally well grown for his age. Cobby with excellent bone standing on short thick legs with big well rounded paws. Very wide short full tail to balance. Two thirds colour to white with broken chevron to face, spot of colour to chin, white and colour to all legs, white underbelly. Unfortunately he only shows tabby markings to his face. The blue to his body and tail is sound in colour and pale with no shading. He has an extremely full flowing long coat that has been well prepared but is rather woolly in texture. A very outgoing young boy with an extrovert temperament that just loved all the attention.

3RD HAMMETT & COCKER’S SHOU LILACBLOSSOM (12a4) F 21.09.08

A lilac and white lady of almost seven months. Broad top to head with good sized ears set low. Presently a slight bump to forehead. Pale round orange eyes that are a little hooded. Short broad nose with adequate pink leather but not sitting central on her face. Flat in profile with full cheeks and good depth to her chin but needing a little more width to muzzle. Bottom jaw currently misaligned to right hand side. She is approximately one third white to two thirds a darker shade of lilac that is almost sound to the roots. She has a white chevron to her face, white cheeks, full white collar and chest with a white spot to her back. Fully coloured, short well furnished tail. Full soft well presented coat. Adorable temperament. A pretty baby in a colour we so rarely see. I do hope her bite and balance improve as she develops into adulthood.

CLASS 583 AV PERSIAN NON-SELF BREEDERS NEUTER

1ST MATHER – BARTLETT’S STOWAWAY GOTTHE BLUES (13b2) FN 30.05.04

Female blue colourpoint approaching her fifth birthday. A smaller sized head in proportion to her body size. She has a smooth well rounded skull with good width between small ears set low. Well rounded forehead. Clear ice blue eyes of very good size and shape. Short nose with an adequate break and a small but fully formed blue leather. Full cheeks, firm chin and level bite. Well covered cobby body of medium size with a short full tail. She has good points of a sound, darker shade blue. Full mask. Her coat is quite and well prepared. She is showing slight shading to her to her top coat presently but it is clear at the roots. Her coat is generally soft to touch, just a little coarser along her spine line where she retains some older coat. Gentle tempered girl.

CLASS 584 AV PERSIAN NON-SELF NON-BREEDERS NEUTER

1ST CLEMENT’S PR SUZERAIN LOUIS SAMILTON (70 8a) MN 09.05.07

A blue classic tabby Exotic boy of almost two years of age. Very well rounded skull with good width between small rounded tipped ears. Smooth forehead. Round eyes of a good orange colour and very nice size and shape. Short nose with a deep break and a fully formed dusky pink leather with wide open nostrils. Excellent width to ample cheeks and full wide muzzle. Level bite with good depth to chin. Very heavy and cobby standing on short thick legs which show multiple rings. Broad across his chest with short thick neck with well rounded rump. Fully ringed short thick tail to balance. Excellent show presentation and preparation. His coat is dense and plush standing away from his body. Although he is starting to shed it is still soft and springy in texture. He shows a clear tabby pattern to his face with clear ”M” to forehead and lines running from his eyes. He has thumbprints to his ears and lines running over the top of his head extending to a butterfly across his shoulders. Although this is not crisp it is present. His tabby pattern is clear to his lower sides but he presently shows a solid blue back. Three unbroken chains to chest. Where his pattern is clearer he shows a good beige ground colour against the blue. A pleasure to handle this big handsome boy just loved his cuddles.

2ND BURNETT’S I GR CH & GR PR LOROMAS RUBY TUESDAY (12 2) FN 14.06.05

Cream and blue short full tail. Very good show preparation with a coat that is soft in texture, full and flowing. Her white is sparkling and the coloured areas are sound and even in tone. Today her full pantaloons were, however, a little woolly and she needed a little more attention to her underbelly . Very nicely tempered.

3RD CLARK’S CH HONEYGEM ETERNAL FLAME (70 36e) FN 25.05.05

A tortie smoke Exotic female of almost four years. Broad well rounded skull and forehead with small ears set wide and low. Bold round orange eyes of a very good colour. Short nose with good break and small black leather. Near level bite with a few missing incisors. Ample width to cheeks but needing a little more width to muzzle for perfection. Firm chin to balance. Cobby and heavy, yet still very feminine, standing on short thick legs with short tail to balance. Super ash white contrasts of approximately 50% white to colour. Black and vibrant shades of red evenly intermingled and not patched on her top coat. Today she was shedding her coat by the handful although still maintaining a good amount of density and plushness. A sweet natured girl who was just a little nervous today.
