Bristol & District Cat Club Show - 18th April 2009

Many thanks to Elaine & Lisa for my invite to judge. I had a lovely day at this friendly show. I was ably assisted by Andrew with expert trolley pushing & cleaning, as I didn’t have a steward for the day! We had a great Mum & son day & I had some lovely cats to judge. I must just give a mention to the very wonderful ELLAQUIN KODA KODAK – a gorgeous Brown Tabby lad to whom I had the pleasure of awarding BIS Persian Adult later in the day. A quite outstanding Brown Tabby & a delight to judge.

AC Self Persian Premier Neuter Male;

GPC TAYLOR’S IGR PR LAFREBELLA ESPRIT (2a, 15/4/03).

Really lovely start to the day – this Orange-Eyed White’s been a great favourite of mine for many years & he was looking on top form today. Super top of head with fairly neat ears. Bold eyes of excellent size & shape, paling slightly with age but still orange. Very short broad nose. Full cheeks & firm chin. Bite fractionally undershot. Huge full coat which was expertly prepared & pristine white. Very well grown. Cobby body & short full tail. Really super boy – a pleasure to judge.

Black Adult Male;

1 CC HOWES’ HONEYMIST BLACK MAXIMUS (1, 2/6/07).

Young lad who’s still looking rather adolescent at present. Quite good top of head – ears needing to settle a little. Bold orange eyes of good size & shape. Fairly short nose. Quite good width to cheeks. Almost level bite. Good chin. Coat fairly full. Jet black & sound. Needing much more preparation underneath today. Fairly well grown. Short full tail. Slightly nervous. Very borderline for his CC today on type, and let down by his mum on grooming.

Black Adult Female;

1 CC & BOB WILSON’S FIRANTY ELECTRA (1, 12/6/08).

Lovely girl – young but already very well balanced. Good top of head – ears just needing to close & settle a touch. Bold eyes of mid orange – excellent size & shape. Very short broad nose. Full cheeks & firm chin. Almost level bite. Coat full & very well prepared. Jet black, just fractionally shady. Very cobby body. Short full tail.

1 PC PROBERT & DAVIS’ TROUILLORD HEATWAVE (12a5, 19/7/06).

Attractive Red & White lad of good balanced type. Good width to head with neat ears. Pale orange eyes, bold & of good size & shape. Very short broad nose. Full cheeks & firm chin. Bite fractionally undershot. Full coat which was well prepared. Around 80% clear white with a few patches of mid red to back. Mid red to head & tail. White patch to face with white tummy & legs. Well grown with good body shape. Short full tail.

2 PERKINS’ ZENITH BI GOLLY (12a1, 23/5/05).

Huge Black & White lad of good type. Good top of head with fairly neat ears. Eyes quite bold & of good size & shape, pale orange in colour just showing faint green rim. Very short broad nose with cute black leather. Quite good width to cheeks. Level bite & good chin. Coat full & well prepared. Jet black to back, head & tail, just slightly shady. White inverted ‘V’ to face & white underneath & to legs. One black patch to front left leg. Very cobby body. Short full tail. Another lovely lad who ran the winner very close – just losing out on eye colour & width to cheeks.

Blue Colourpoint Neuter Female;

1 PC BOB MATHER-BARTLETT’S STOWAWAY GOTTHEBLUES (13b2, 30/5/04).

Very pretty girl of excellent type. Good top of head with neat ears. Lovely expressive eyes of excellent size & shape. Bold & pale blue in colour. Very short broad nose. Full cheeks & firm chin. Bite slightly undershot. Coat quite full & well prepared. Slightly shady to body. Mid blue to all points. Fairly well grown with cobby body shape. Short full tail.

Tortoiseshell Colourpoint Neuter;

1 PC BOB EMERY’S PR CUSHKA PANSY POTTER (13b10, 26/4/07).

Sweet Lilac Tortie girl of open type. Quite good top of head, ears just needing to settle a little. Slightly heavy brow. Bold eyes of good size & shape, pale but definitely blue. Fairly short nose. Good cheeks & chin. Level bite. Coat full & well prepared. Clear to body & mid lilac & pale cream to all points. Cobby body. Short full tail. Brown Burmese Kitten;

1 BOB BEALE’S TEIGNAGE BETTY BOOP (27, 19/12/08).

Very sweet girl with lovely laid-back temperament. Gently rounded head with ears of good size held well. Pale chartreuse eyes of good shape – I would prefer them a fraction larger for better balance. Nose showing good break. Slightly pinched in the muzzle at present. Level bite. Good depth to chin. Coat rather kitten soft at present & a touch long. Fairly close lying. Mid seal brown shading gently to the roots, paler to flanks & underneath. Well grown girl with good muscle tone. Looking just a fraction long in the body at this stage in her development. Slender legs with good oval paws. Medium tail tapering to rounded tip.

Blue Burmese Kitten Female;

1 BOB FRANCIS’ STILEWAY MASQUERADER (27a, 17/8/08).

Nicely balanced girl whom I judged a couple of weeks ago. Good type with fairly short wedge, just now starting to go through her teenage development stage. Gently rounded head with ears of good size, just needing to grow into them a touch as she matures. Pale chartreuse eyes of good size & shape. Nose showing break. Fairly good width to cheeks, just showing a slight whisker pinch today. Level bite. Good depth to chin. Coat of good satin texture & close lying. Mid blue in colour, shading gently to the roots. Silvering is still to fully develop. Well grown girl with good muscle tone & excellent body shape. Strong yet slender legs with good oval paws. Medium tail tapering to rounded tip.

1 FISHER’S PANZALIA PRINCEOF HEARTS.

Sweet young Blue Point Birman lad of good type. Good width to head, ears just needing to drop a touch. Deep blue eyes of good size & shape. Nose showing slight dip & slightly roman. Quite good width to cheeks. Level bite & fairly good chin. Excellent coat which was very well prepared. Clear to body & mid blue to all points. Well matched gloves & socks. Matching tapered gauntlets. Well grown with good body shape. Medium tail, well furnished. A promising lad.

2 BLEWITT’S PAZAJEM GLOW AMBER.

Sweet Cream Point Birman girl of quite good type. Good width to head with medium ears held well. Her eyes look rather round & bold out of the pen, but much better in the pen when she’s relaxed. Medium nose with good dip. Quite good width to cheeks. Level bite. Chin could be a touch stronger. Well prepared coat of good length. Clear to body & pale blue to all points. Well matched gloves & socks. Matching tapered gauntlets. Fairly well grown. Medium tail, well furnished.

Attractive Blue Tortie Silver Tabby & White Norwegian Forest girl of good type. Good triangular head shape with ears of good size held well. Well opened eyes of pale hazel and good size. Good straight profile. Well developed chin & level bite. Coat well prepared & of good length. Good double coat already developed. Mid blue & shades of cream with good tabby markings. White to paws. Excellent body shape & well grown. Long tail, well furnished.

2 HARRISON’S RAPTINFLUFF BOUDICCA.

Blue Tabbypoint Birman girl of good type. Quite good width to head –ears of good size, just needing to settle a little. Excellent deep blue eyes of good size & shape. Medium nose with good dip. Good width to cheeks. Level bite & good chin. Coat of good length – needing a little more preparation to do her justice. Quite clear to body & good mid blue tabby markings to all points. Well matched gloves & socks. Matching tapered gauntlets. Well grown girl with good body shape. Medium tail, well furnished.

3 JENKIN & GAY’S JULESCOON GRACIE CAPRI.

1 SCANDRETT’S PETERJEANNE WKD BLUE.

Super Blue Point Birman lad of excellent type. Good width to head with medium ears held well. Excellent deep blue eyes of good size & shape. Very good width to cheeks. Medium nose with good dip in profile, just slightly roman. Excellent clear coat of good length which was beautifully presented. Mid blue to all points. Good gloves & socks. Matching tapered gauntlets. Well grown boy with good body shape. Medium tail, well furnished.

2 GAY’S JULESCOON WHACKER.

Lovely Blue Tabby & White Maine Coon lad of excellent balanced type. Good width to head with ears of good size held well & showing good tufts. Amber eyes of good size & shape. Nose showing gentle curve, just with slight bump in profile. Good width to muzzle. Level bite & good chin. Coat of good length & well prepared. White to muzzle, tummy & paws. Pale biscuit ground colour to head, back and tail. Clear ‘M’ to forehead and spectacles to eyes. Well ringed tail. Fairly clear butterfly to shoulders. Lines to back & oysters to flanks slightly diffused. Very well grown lad with good body shape. Long tail to balance, well furnished.

Medium nose showing good dip in profile. Very good width to cheeks. Level bite & good chin. Lovely coat which was very well prepared. Just fractionally shady to body. Mid blue to all points. Well matched gloves & socks. Matching tapered gauntlets. Very well grown lad with good body shape. Medium tail, well furnished.

Cream point Birman girl of lovely type. Good width to head with medium ears set well. Expressive mid blue eyes of very good size & shape. Medium nose showing good dip in profile. Very good width to cheeks. Level bite & good chin. Lovely coat which was very well prepared. Just fractionally shady to body. Mid cream to points, just showing some tabby rings to tail. Mid blue to all points. Well matched gloves & socks. Matching tapered gauntlets. Well grown girl with good body shape. Medium tail, well furnished.

1 STEPHENS’ GR CH MILLGILL THEATRICS.

Lovely Lilac Tortie girl with good type & nicely balanced short wedge. Gently rounded head with ears of good size held well. Mid chartreuse eyes of excellent size & shape. Nose showing break. Good width to cheeks. Level bite. Good depth to chin. Coat fairly close lying & of quite good satin texture. Lovely pale pinkish lilac & pale cream intermingled softly throughout. Well muscled body of good shape. Slender legs with good oval paws. Medium tail, tapering to rounded tip. Lovely show temperament – purred like a ‘Trim phone’…which is showing my age isn’t it?!

2 KASAMUN’S CH BIENZOLI’S SUGAR PLUM.

Attractive Chocolate girl of good type. Gently rounded head with medium ears held well. Lustrous mid chartreuse eyes of excellent size & shape. Nose showing good break. Good width to cheeks. Level bite. Very good depth to chin. Coat of good satin texture & close lying. Mid chocolate, just a fraction cool in tone. Well grown body with good muscle tone. Slender legs with good oval paws. Medium tail, tapering to rounded tip.
