A great show for the Bristol and District Cat Club, a most enjoyable day with some lovely cats.  Many thanks to my steward Peter Colin for coming down to steward for me especially, excellent as always, I look forward to the next time. Also my thanks to Elaine, Lisa and John for the invitation to judge and to the club for their hospitality.

    AC BRITISH PREMIER MALE

1 GPC BURFORD’S GR CH & PR MIBAYBESE BOWJANGALS  17  MN  2.11.06
Massive two and a half year old boy well balanced and with good muscle tone. Head has full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head of good width between neat ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, small in size and rounded at tips. Good profile line with rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and strong, firm, deep chin. Large, orange, well open eyes set wide apart.  Short neck, cobby body with a short, level back, low on legs and with a lovely broad, deep chest. Proportionate, strong, well boned legs and large, rounded paws.  Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip.  Coat fairly short, lovely and dense with a crisp texture.  Cream British of pale toned cream sound to the roots but just showing very faint tabby markings and rings on tail.
RGPC BENGER’S IGR PR STONNAL ROCKEE  30d  MN  15.6.05
Powerfully built nearly four year old boy with good overall balance, very weighty and good muscle tone. Full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between the ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, medium in size and rounded at tips. Pleasing profile line with rounding to brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Large and well open eyes set wide apart, deep golden in colour.  Strong, cobby body with a short level back, low on legs and with a full, broad, deep chest. Short, strong, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws.  Slightly long tail but thicker at base and rounded at tip.  Coat a trifle long but fairly dense, just the soft side of crisp in texture.  Red Spotted British of rich red ground colour with deeper red markings. Clear facial markings and rings on tail, spotting on body could have stronger definition.

    AC BRITISH PREMIER FEMALE

GRIBBEN’S GR CH & PR TRYANITE THOMASINA  21  FN  15.9.03
Lovely chunky five and a half year old lady with good overall balance. Very good size and weighty with good muscle tone. Head has full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between neat ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, fairly small in size and rounded at tips. Rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and fair depth chin. Deep golden colour to large and well open eyes set wide apart.  Compact body with a short level back, low on legs and with a full, broad, deep chest. Short, strong legs and firm, rounded paws.  Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip.  Coat fairly short, lovely and dense just slightly on the soft side of crisp in texture.  Black Tortie British of evenly inter mingled black and shades of red with just a small patch of red on chest. Naughty but nice.

1 GCC MILLWARD’S CH YOKOTA LUCIE LOCKETT  74c  F   2.3.07
Very attractive two year old lady shown in lovely condition. Very good head with gently rounded top of good width between ears, moderately proportioned wedge with a well rounded muzzle and definite whisker pinch.  Profile shows slight nose break then nose straight to tip.  Level bite but slightly shallow chin.  Medium ears, slightly taller than wide, broad at base, oval tips and pricked forward and set well apart.  Large full almond shaped eyes, set well apart greeny-blue in colour.  Longish body of good weight and muscle tone well balanced with rounded chest, slender legs and neat oval paws.  Fair length tapering tail could be a fraction longer to balance body for perfection.  Excellent coat, fairly short, close lying, fine, soft and of excellent silky texture with a good sheen to it.    Lilac Tonkinese of fairly even warm toned lilac body colour with deeper lilac points.
RGCC LOVELL’S CH KENNBURY AMENARTAS  72 45bq  F  30.11.06
Two plus year old lady of very good size and weight to medium length body with good muscle tone. Well rounded chest and straight back. Slender, proportionate legs and neat oval paws.  Good length and shape to slightly tapering tail with a rounded tip.  Coat short and fine, close lying and with a satin like texture.  Asian Chocolate Ticked Tabby with burmese colour restriction with clear bands of chocolate ticking with warm toned beige base colour. Clear facial markings with ‘M’ on face, half bars on outer side of all limbs and rings on tail. Very good width to slightly rounded top of head between well set and shaped, medium sized ears.  In profile very slight rounding to brow, good nose break, nose a trifle long but straight.  Level bite and fair depth level chin.  Very good size and shape to pale green eyes set well apart.  Lovely temperament.

    AC BURMESE PREMIER MALE

1 GPC HUTCHINGS’S IGR PR TALIPAW BURLINGTON BERTIE  27b  MN  13.12.04
Super fellow of four and a half years of age of excellent size and weight well balanced and with good muscle tone.  Medium length body with proportionate, shapely legs and largish oval paws.  Tail well shaped but a trifle thick overall and just a fraction short to balance body for perfection.  Coat a trifle long but close lying and of excellent satiny texture.  Warm toned medium chocolate, fairly even over body slightly paler across neck shoulders and with slightly darker chocolate contrast masking to face and ears.  Good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of good size.  Very slight rounding to brow, good nose break, nose a shade long but straight.  Level bite and good depth chin.  Good size and shape to pale chartreuse eyes well set.  Lovely temperament. 
2 RGPC Withheld STEPHENS’S GR PR MILLGILL PANDEMONIUM  27  MN  12.7.04
Nearly five year old boy of good size and weight with good muscle tone. Medium length body with proportionate shapely legs and neat oval paws.  Good tail for length and shape to balance body.  Coat a trifle long but close lying and of good texture.  Deep, shiny brown with a nice sheen to it. Slight sprinkling of white hairs.  Good width but slightly flat top of head between largish sized ears held a bit upright today. In profile slight flattening to brow, fair nose break, nose a bit long but straight. Level bite and fair depth chin but looking a bit fine at muzzle.  Pale chartreuse eyes set well apart but tending to round in shape maybe because he was not too happy today.

A lovely class of cats, a real pleasure to judge.
1 GPC TRUSCOTT’S IGR CH & PR JANAGAR MISS SAPPHIRE  27a  FN  5.3.02
Weighty but still well balanced six year old lady of excellent size to medium length body with proportionate shapely legs and neat oval paws.  Well shaped tail is a fraction short for perfection.  Coat a trifle long but close lying coat and of good texture.  Even, medium to deeper blue in colour with silvering to rounded areas.  Fairly short blunt wedge.  Good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of goodly size.  Slight rounding to brow, good nose break and fairly short, straight nose.  Level bite but slightly shallow although level chin.  Good size and shape to chartreuse eyes  set well apart.  Lovely temperament.  
RGPC DAVIES’S GR PR HOBBERDY WICKEDWITCH WIZZI  27b  FN  24.11.03
Five plus year old lady of very good size and weight with a good firm feel to her.  Medium to longer body with proportionate, shapely legs and neat oval paws.  Well shaped tail  of good length has minor excrescence at tip. Coat fairly short and close lying and of very good texture.  Warm toned medium to darker chocolate nice and even over body with slightly darker contrast masking to face and ears. Very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of good size.  Slight flattening to brow, good nose break, nose a bit long and rounds slightly  Level bite and fair depth chin.  Good size and shape to pale chartreuse eyes well set.  Nice natured.

    AOC MAINE COON KITTEN MALE

1 MASKELL’S JEHOZACAT JOHNNIEBGOODE  64 31d  M  27.8.08
Seven month old promising boy of excellent size and weight. Head is medium in length and of good breadth being slightly less than the length. Fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones. Shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge being equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width.  Excellent large ears, feathered, wide at base, tall and set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tufted tips. Golden colour to round shaped eyes, fairly good size spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set.  Square muzzle could be slightly broader for perfection, slightly shallow although level chin and level bite. Large, long body, solid and muscular, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Proportionate length, substantial legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws. Lovely tail, long and wide at base tapering towards the tip and with long profuse, flowing fur. Undercoat with more substantial glossy top coat developing. Some breeches and shaggy belly fur and start of frontal ruff. Red and White of bright red with white to nose, lips, chin, bib, front paws, centre of tummy and back boots. Lovely temperament.

    AOC MAINE COON KITTEN FEMALE

1 & BOB FORD’S RUMTUMTUGGER QLEO  64 44gw  F  26.10.08
Just five months old and of excellent size and weight for age. Head is medium in length but needs to develop a little more breadth, fairly full cheeks and high cheek bones. Shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge being equidistant from the ear line and the tip of the nose and with nose of uniform width.  Tall, large ears, nicely feathered, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at nicely tufted tips. Full and round shape to eyes, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set, golden in colour. Fairly broad, square muzzle with a firm, level chin and level bite. Good length body, solid and muscular, square rump and good breadth to chest giving a rectangular appearance. Proportionate length, substantial legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws.  Moderately long neck.  Excellent tail long and wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with long flowing fur. Good undercoat with more substantial glossy top coat of good texture with length developing down back, flanks and tail.  Full breeches, shaggy belly fur and good frontal ruff. Blue Tortie Mackerel Tabby and White showing faint, broad downward stripes. Nice natured.
2 POWELL’S ZECOONA WINTER SPICE  64 44e  F  17.10.08
Six month old young girl not showing at her best advantage today. Head is medium in length but needs to develop more breadth. Fairly full cheeks, high cheek bones and shallow concave curve at the nasal bridge. Tall, large ears, feathered, wide at base, set high but well apart and tapering to appear pointed at tufted tips. Lovely eyes of full round shape, spaced wide apart and with slightly oblique aperture and set. Strong muzzle with a medium depth chin but unfortunately her bite was undershot which was confirmed by the Duty Vet. Long, slightly lean body with fairly good breadth to chest and proportionate long, medium boned legs and large round paws with tufts emanating from under paws.  Moderately long neck.  Excellent long tail, wide at base and tapering towards the tip and with long profuse, flowing fur. Undercoat with more substantial top coat developing but was open and had slightly greasy feel to it. Some breeches, shaggy belly fur and slight frontal ruff. Tortie Tabby with faint mackerel pattern.

    BRITISH CHOCOLATE NEUTER MALE

1 IC Withheld McLEAN’S MOORMIST LAIRD  15b  MN  19.5.08
Good size and weight with good muscle tone to this ten month old boy. Round face has full cheeks with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head with good width between the ears held a bit low so not  following the outer contours of the head, rather large in size and rounded at tips. Rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Large, deep golden coloured eyes, well open and set wide apart.  Cobby body with a short level back, low on legs and with a well rounded chest. Short, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws.  Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat is a bit long and needs to be denser, feels the soft side of crisp in texture. Warm toned chocolate to surface colour but pales to roots and shows heavy tabby markings and a sprinkling of white hairs across the shoulders and chest. Nice natured.  Sorry to withhold but his coat was not up to the mark today.
2 PRITCHARD’S MIPRIDE BLADON  15b  MN  15.5.08
Eleven month old boy of good size and weight with good muscle tone but lacking balance at present. Head has full cheeks to a round face with good breadth to skull and rounded top of head. Large ears are held upright so not following the outer contours of the head, rounded at tips. Rounded brow and fairly short, straight, broad nose. Slightly undershot scissor bite confirmed by the Duty Vet. Slightly shallow chin. Slightly deep set and small, yellow eyes.  Longish rather than cobby body but with a straight back and broad chest. Strong, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws.  Slightly long tail but thicker at base and rounded at tip. Coat a bit long and lacks density and is rather soft instead of crisp in texture.  Warm toned medium chocolate in colour which pales to roots.

    BRITISH CHOCOLATE NEUTER FEMALE

1 IC & BOB McLEAN’S MOORMIST CHOCOLATE PARFAIT   15b  FN  18.4.08
Nice overall balance to this year old young lady of good size and weight with good muscle tone. Pleasing head with full cheeks to a round face and good breadth to skull. Rounded top of head with good width between the ears set far apart so following the outer contours of the head, small to medium in size and rounded at tips. Rounded brow and short, straight, broad nose. Level bite and fair depth, level chin. Large and well open eyes set wide apart.  Compact body with a short level back, low on legs and with a nicely rounded chest. Short, well boned legs and firm, rounded paws.  Medium length tail, thicker at base and rounded at tip.  Coat a bit long but fairly dense, just the soft side of crisp in texture. Rich, deep, warm toned chocolate in colour which pales minimally to roots. Very faint tabby markings on body. Sweet natured.

USUAL ABYSSINIAN ADULT MALE

1 CC & BOB SHAMMAS’S CH MIKKAR ASHANTI WARRIOR  23  M  31.12.07
Excellent size and weight to this fifteen month old fellow looking lithe, muscular and well developed. Gently rounded contours to head and gently rounded from top of head to brow. Good, gently rounded width between the ears forming a fairly moderate wedge which tapers to a good, slightly rounded muzzle, formed by a slight indentation. In profile slight nose break then slightly long nose for my preference has slight bump towards tip. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Good well cupped, large ears, pricked and with furry inner edges, tufts at tips and set wide apart. Outer line of the ear follows the outer contours of the face. Large, amber coloured, expressive eyes set well apart, full almond shape and oriental in set. Medium build and size to body, straight back and rounded rib cage.  Fairly slender, well boned legs in proportion to body and small oval feet. Good length tail to balance body but a trifle thick overall. Coat is short, fine, dense in texture and close lying.  Usual Abyssinian of ruddy orange base colour with black ticking, showing excellent ticking having bands of colour. Clear facial markings with black pigmentation lines from eye to top of head and pencil lines on cheeks. Pale hair around eyes and dark edge to eyelid. Rufus colour to ears with darker tone at tips. Cream chin and lips. More intense black ticking colour extending down spine and tail to a black tip and black slightly up the hocks. Faint broken necklace. 

USUAL ABYSSINIAN ADULT FEMALE

1 CC SHAMMAS’S CH MIKKAR LITTLE MYNX  23  F  29.12.06
Lithe, muscular and well developed, smart two plus year old lady. Gently rounded contours to head and gently rounded from top of head to brow. Good, gently rounded width between the ears forming a moderate wedge which tapers to a slightly rounded muzzle, formed by a slight indentation. Pleasing profile line with slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Level bite but shallow chin. Large, well cupped ears, pricked and with furry inner edges and set wide apart. Outer line of the ear follows the outer contours of the face. Large, expressive eyes set well apart, full almond shape and oriental in set, hazel in colour. Medium build and size to body, straight back and rounded rib cage.  Slender legs in proportion to body and small oval feet. Tail, thick at base and gently tapering, good length to balance body but spoilt by slight defect at the tip. Coat a trifle long but dense in texture and close lying.  Usual Abyssinian with slightly pale ruddy orange base colour but black ticking, showing distinct ticking. Black pigmentation lines from eye to top of head, pencil lines on cheeks. Pale hair around eyes and dark edge to eyelid. Ruddy orange ears with darker tone at tips. Cream chin and lips. Black ticking colour extending down spine and tail to a black tip and black slightly up the hocks.  Nice natured.
2 CHILCOTT’S NISHALKA JUNO  23  F  8.7.08
Well developed young lady of just nine moths looking lithe and muscular. Gently rounded contours to head and gently rounded from top of head to brow. Gently rounded width between the ears forming a fair  wedge which tapers to a slightly rounded but fine muzzle. Profile line virtually straight with no nose break. Level bite but shallow chin. Large, well cupped ears, pricked and with furry inner edges and set wide apart. Outer line of the ear follows the outer contours of the face. Expressive, amber eyes set well apart, full almond shape and oriental in set. Medium build and size to body, straight back and rounded rib cage.  Proportionate slim legs and small oval feet. Tail, thick at base, tapering gently to tip and of good length to balance body. Coat a bit long but dense in texture and close lying.  Usual Abyssinian of ruddy orange base colour and black ticking with distinct bands of colour. Pigmentation lines in black from eye to top of head and pencil lines on cheeks. Pale hair around the eyes and dark edge to eyelids. Deep ruddy orange ears with darker tone at tips. Cream chin and lips. More intense ticking colour extending down spine to tail with a black tip. Black  slightly up the hocks. Faint broken necklace. 

    SORRELL ABYSSINIAN ADULT

BOB WARREN’S CH CATSMAGIC NARTJIE  23a  F  14.12.05
Lithe, muscular three plus year old lady, well balanced. Gently rounded contours to head and gently rounded from top of head to brow. Good, gently rounded width between the ears forming a moderate wedge which tapers to a slightly rounded muzzle, formed by a slight indentation. In profile slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Level bite and firm, level chin. Large, well cupped ears, pricked and with furry inner edges, tufts at tips and set wide apart. Outer line of the ear follows the outer contours of the face. Large, expressive hazel eyes set well apart, well shaped and oriental in set. Elegant body, straight back and rounded rib cage.  Slender legs in proportion to body and small oval feet. Good tail, thick at base and tapering gently to tip, good length to balance body. Lovely short coat is fine, dense in texture and close lying.  Sorrel Abyssinian of bright apricot base colour with chocolate ticking, well ticked showing distinct bands of colour. Pigmentation lines from eye to top of head, pencil lines on cheeks. Pale hair around eyes and dark edge to eyelid. Apricot  ears with darker tone at tips. Cream chin and lips. Chocolate  ticking colour extending down spine and tail to a chocolate  tip.

    TONKINESE ADULT

Two year old lady shown in lovely condition. Gently rounded top of head of good width between ears, moderately proportioned wedge with a rounded muzzle and definite whisker pinch.  Profile shows slight nose break then nose straight to tip.  Level bite but shallow chin.  Medium ears, slightly taller than wide, broad at base, oval tips and pricked forward and set well apart.  Large, rather full shaped eyes, set well apart greeny-blue in colour.  Longish body of good weight and muscle tone well balanced with rounded chest, fine legs and neat oval paws.  Medium length tapering tail.  Coat fairly short and close lying fine, soft and silky with a good sheen to it.  Blue Tonkinese of slightly deep blue body colour which pales over shoulders and with deeper blue points. 

    ABYSSINIAN ADULT ASSESSMENT

Merit to BARRETT’S HIGHLIGHT KATRINA  23ats  F  29.5.08
Nicely balanced young lady of medium build and good weight. Moderate wedge with rounded top of head. Slight indentation to form muzzle which I would prefer stronger. Level bite, slightly shallow chin. Slight break to profile line. Large ears set fairly wide apart, well pricked, following lines of wedge. Amber colour to almond shaped eyes but I would prefer them slightly larger. Lithe body with proportionate slender legs and small oval paws. Good length tail to balance body. Coat a trifle long but fine and dense in texture. Silvery white base colour ticked with chocolate, most evidence of silvery red on front paws and back of neck. Nice facial markings. Chocolate ticking more intense down spine to tail. Nice condition, lovely temperament.

    BLUE ABYSSINIAN KITTEN

1 & BOB WARREN’S MARJANWA NALADAWN  23c  F  21.10.08
Well grown five month old girl lithe and muscular. Gently rounded contours to head and gently rounded from top of head to brow. Good, gently rounded width between the ears forming a good moderate wedge which tapers to a slightly rounded muzzle, formed by a slight indentation. In profile slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Level bite and medium depth chin. Well cupped ears, pricked and with furry inner edges, tufts at tips and set wide apart but slightly oversized for her face at present. Outer line of the ear follows the outer contours of the face. Large, expressive eyes set well apart, full almond shape and oriental in set. Elegant body, straight back and rounded rib cage with slim legs in proportion to body and small oval feet. Good tail, thick at base, tapering gently to tip and of good length to balance body. Coat is short, fine, dense in texture and close lying.  Blue Abyssinian of pinkish mushroom base colour with bluey-grey ticking fairly well defined. Bluey pigmentation lines from eye to top of head and faint pencil lines on cheeks. Pale hair around eyes and dark edge to eyelids. Cream chin and lips. More intense ticking colour extending down spine to tail to a blue  tip and blue slightly up the hocks. Sweet natured.

    BROWN BURMESE ADULT

BOB GRICE’S CH KIMARLIM SIMPLY WILDSILK  27  F  27.2.06
Very good size and weight to this three year old lady. Medium length body with a good firm feel. Nicely rounded chest and straight back. Slender, proportionate legs and neat oval paws.  Good length and shape to slightly tapering tail which feels rigid at tip.  Coat fairly short and close lying and of good texture.  Nice and even warm, seal brown in colour. Fairly short wedge, wide at cheek bones and finishing with a blunt muzzle.  Good width to slightly rounded top of head between well set and shaped, medium sized ears.  In profile gently rounded brow, good nose break and fairly short, straight nose which shallows slightly in depth to tip.  Level bite and fair depth chin.  Pale yellow eyes of good size and shape, set well apart and with ‘typical’ burmese expression.

    BLUE BURMESE ADULT

1 CC & BOB STEPHENS’S CH MILLGILL SOLILOQUY  27a  F  24.9.05
Mature lady of three and a half years of age. Very good size and weight to medium length body with good muscle tone. Nicely rounded chest and straight back. Slender, proportionate legs and neat oval paws.  Good length to slightly tapering tail which feels tense at tip.  Coat a trifle long, close lying on back and sides but a bit woolly on tummy. Medium blue in colour with slight sandy overtones.  Good width to slightly rounded top of head between well set and shaped, medium sized ears.  In profile slight rounding to brow, acceptable nose break, nose a trifle long but straight.  Level bite but shallow chin.  Pale chartreuse eyes of good size and shape set well apart. Sweet natured.
