CAMBRIDGESHIRE CAT CLUB SHOW

Thank you Sally and Paul for the invitation to judge once again at Cam Cats. I had a lovely day and would like to thank Richard Lord for stepping in to steward for me when my booked steward had to pull out. As always Richard is gentle and expert at handling the exhibits and a great help.

IMPERIAL CLASS – AC PERSIAN GR CH ADULT MALE

I needed two Imperial Certificates when I did this class, two lovely exhibits.

IGRC MS C WALL’S GR CH SHEERBLISS ENRICO (70 31a) M 14/4/07

– Blue and White Exotic of good size and shape whom I think I have given every award I can! Body is cobby and he stands on short fat legs. Lovely well balanced Persian type. Large round head with good width between neat ears. Round eyes of a good orange colour. Short broad nose with good break and full leather. Level bite. Coat dense and plush standing well away from the body. Medium shade of blue which is a little unsound at the moment with a sparkling white. White collar and white chevron to face. White underparts. Tail in proportion to his body. Excellent temperament.

RES IGR CC MRS T BRAY’S GR CH LORINA GOLD ‘N’ DELICIOUS (54) M 11/8/06

– Golden who is cobby in shape and standing low on the legs. He is beautifully balanced for Persian type and has a lovely temperament. Head broad and round with good breadth between neat well furnished ears. Round eyes of a good emerald green which are outlined in black. Short broad nose with good stop and full brick leather which is also outlined in black. Good bite. Full cheeks firm chin. Coat well prepared. Coat is rather cool apricot at the moment and he ahs a gold undercoat, there is grey at the roots today. The chin, ear furnishings, stomach and chest is a pale apricot. Coat is evenly tipped with black. Tail in proportion to his body.

BLUE POINT BIRMAN KITTEN

1ST BOB MISS T GARDINOR’S ATAKAD AIMIN HIGH (13c2) M 1/7/08

– Blue Point Birman who is well grown and balanced for his age and has a lovely temperament. Body is long and he stands on thick set legs with short strong paws. His skull is broad and rounded with good width between ears that are medium in size. Eyes are blue and almost round. Nose is medium in length with a slight dip in profile and full blue leather. Good bite. Full cheeks with a slightly receding chin. Well prepared coat that is showing some surface shading but it is clear at the roots. Pure white scalloped gloves that finish at the angle of the paws. Socks are pure white and medium in length. Good length to gauntlets. Coat is long and silken with ruff developing. Points a blue grey and all matching. Tail is bushy and medium in length.

TORTIE POINT BIRMAN KITTEN

1ST BOB MR & MRS ENSOR’S KITTAH ARTEMIS (13c6) F 10/8/08

– Seal Tortie Point Birman. Well grown and balanced for her age. Round broad head with medium sized ears that are spaced nicely apart. Eyes almost round and a good colour of blue. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile and a blaze of colour down middle. Cheeks needing to be a little fuller. Good bite. Well prepared fawn coat. Points are a seal brown intermingled with shades of red. All points are broken with colour. Pure white symmetrical gloves which are scalloped. Socks which medium in length. Gauntlets are rather short but tapering. Tail short and bushy.

SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON KITTEN

1ST BOB MRS A JONES’S COONFLAKES QUANTUMOFSOLACE (64 41dsw) MN 17/9/08

– Classic Red Silver and White Tabby Maine Coon. Body long, solid and muscular and he stands on substantial legs with large round paws. Head is medium in length with ears that are held high and spaced nicely apart. Round gold eyes that are spaced wide apart and set slightly oblique. Nose of even width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Muzzle square needing just a little more fullness in cheeks. Coat was well prepared displaying Classic Tabby markings. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Well defined butterfly to shoulder area with oysters. Good barring to legs. Coat has a pale silvery red ground colour with red markings. White chest, feet and underparts. Nicely developed ruff and breeches. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back.

AC COLOURPOINTED or MITTED RAGDOLL KITTEN MALE

1ST BOB MR & MRS BEAL’S SONNIFACIO GENTLEMANRUFFIN (66) M 16/9/08

– Seal Colourpointed Ragdoll with a long and well built body for his age. He stands on legs which are medium in length on large round paws. Head is broad with flat plane. Ears are medium in size with a slight tilt and set well apart. Eyes are large, set slightly oblique, blue in colour but would have liked a deeper tone. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip and slightly retrousse at the tip. Level bite. Cheeks need to be a little fuller and chin recedes slightly. Coat well prepared, silky in texture with full ruff and knickerbockers. Coat is showing surface shading on the body and a small tummy spot. Dense matching seal points with full mask that was brindled on the day especially around the eyes. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders well. He was very nervous so did not show himself off at all well.

AC COLOURPOINTED or MITTED RAGDOLL KITTEN FEMALE

1ST MRS A VALE’S ADNIOLO PHATPAWS BOOTIGIRL (66a) F 22/9/08

– Pretty Blue Colourpointed Ragdoll. Good size and shape, body long and muscular standing on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Nice broad head with flat plane. Medium sized ears needing just a little more width between them but they are tilted forward. Medium blue eyes set slightly oblique which are large and well opened. Medium length to nose which is a little straight and needing more dip. Level bite. Full cheeks and rounded muzzle. Well-prepared coat which is showing some surface shading but it is a good length and a nice texture. Points colour is a greyish blue and all matching. Long and bushy tail.

2ND MISS G NEVIN’S LEWSHAN LITTLE STAR (66g) F 29/7/08

– Blue Tortie Point Ragdoll. Good size and shape having a long and muscular body standing on legs which are medium in length on large round paws. Broad head with flat plane. Ears medium in size and slightly tilted forward. Mid blue eyes set wide and slightly oblique which I would have liked a little bigger. Nose of medium length which is a little straight needing more dip. Level bite and firm chin. Full cheeks with square rather than rounded muzzle. Well-prepared coat showing some shading. Points are a pastel blue and cream with all points broken with colour. Tail bushy and in proportion to the body.

3RD MRS S McHUGH’S LEWSHAN MAMMA MIA (66gt) F 29/7/08

– Blue Tortie Tabby Point Ragdoll. She is a good shape and size for her age. Body is long and she stands on medium sized legs. Her head is a little short in length and domed rather than flat. Ears are medium in size and have good width between them. Eyes are large, well opened and a good blue. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip. Good bite. Cheeks well developed but muzzle is a little fine and chin is weak. Her coat is well prepared, silky in texture and a good length. Points are light beige overlaid with cream with blue tabby markings. I could find cream on her legs, tail and left ear but right ear and face does not appear to have any cream on it. She has an M on her forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles on her eyes and thumbprints on her ears. Legs show barring and her tail is ringed, bushy and a good length.

RED POINT BIRMAN NEUTER

1PC BOB MR & MRS ENSOR’S PR KITTAH ODYSSEUS (13c5) MN25/10/07

– Red point Birman of lovely balanced Birman type. Good size and body confirmation. Broad and rounded skull with medium sized ears that are spaced nicely apart. Almost round pale blue eyes, would have liked a much deeper shade. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Level bite. Cheeks rounded, chin a little weak. Pure white scalloped gloves that finish at the angle of the paws with white socks that cover the entire back paw. Gauntlets a good length finishing just below the point of the hock. Well prepared coat of pale cream with full ruff. Rich red points which are all matching just showing faint tabby markings on forehead. Tail medium in length and in proportion to body.

BRITISH BLUE KITTEN

1ST BOB MISS J MARTIN’S WELLMAR TITAN (16) M 23/7/08

– British Blue kitten whom I judged at the beginning of the year and he is coming along very well. He is cobby in shape, shows good depth to his body and has very good boning. He stands on short strong legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between rounded ears which are slightly tall. Large round expressive orange eyes which are spaced nicely apart, I would like them a little deeper in colour for perfection. Nose is short broad and straight. Level bite. Nicely rounded cheeks with firm chin. Coat is a lovely pale shade of blue; it is showing silver tipping at the moment which is acceptable in a kitten. Coat is a good length and is dense and crisp. Tail is medium in length and thick with a rounded tip. Lovely to handle.

BRITISH TIPPED KITTEN

1ST BOB MR & MRS McEWEN’S PENNYDOWN XCLUSIVE (39) F 12/7/08

– Black Tipped of good shape and size for her age. Cobby standing low on her legs which are short and strong standing on round firm paws. Round head with good width between neat ears which are rounded at the tips. Round expressive green eyes which are outlined in black. Short broad nose with full brick leather, outlined in black. Level bite. Full cheeks but chin a little weak. Coat is short dense and crisp. Almost white undercoat with the coat on the back, flanks, head, ears and tail evenly tipped with black. Legs show tipping. Chin, stomach, chest and under tail almost white. Tail in proportion to body, thicker at the base with a rounded tip.

AC SELKIRK REX INTERMEDIATE KITTEN

1ST BOB MRS G RYMER’S CURLU QUIZZICAL (79L21) F 24/9/08

– Long Haired Tortoiseshell Selkirk Rex. This young lady has a lovely temperament and is a good shape and size. Body is muscular and more rectangular than square, shoulders and rump are equally broad. Head is round with a slightly curved top of head. Ears are medium in size, have curly furnishings and are spaced well apart. Eyes are large and round and have good width between them. Nose is short broad and straight with a convex curve in profile. Good bite. Muzzle is medium in width and padding is still developing. Coat is thick and dense. It is arranged in loose individual curls although it is a little straighter on the back and today needed a little more preparation. Ruff is full and curly as are the trousers. Tail is thick and medium in length.

2ND MRS P PALMER’S TISHKABAR COCONUTMOON (79s 40 8) F 27/7/08

– Blue Tortie Colourpoint Selkirk Rex. More British in type than Selkirk. She has good boning and she stands on legs which are medium in length. She has a firm muscular feel with a rectangular body shape. Head is round with ears that are medium sized and spaced nicely apart. Eyes are large and round. Nose is short broad and straight needing more of a downward slant. Good bite. Her muzzle is quite short and whisker pads need to develop more. Coat is thick and dense, of fairly uniform length and it stands out from the body with rexing developing well on the head around the neck and on her tail. Tail is thick and medium in length.

1ST MRS A JONES’S COONFLAKES QUANTUMOFSOLACE

2ND MRS L FRASER-SMITH’S NORSKMAGI VENETIA (67 36) F 24/7/08

– Black Smoke Norwegian Forest of good size and shape and a very pretty young lady. Body long and muscular standing high on the legs with her back legs longer than front ones on large round paws which are well tufted. Head is triangular with large ears which have good width at the base. Eyes large and oval, green with a lovely alert expression. Long straight profile, chin recedes just slightly. Good bite. Well prepared coat which is developing as she does not have much undercoat at the moment. Ruff and knickerbockers are developing. Tail long and easily reaching the shoulders. Handled beautifully.

3RD MRS S McHUGH’S LEWSHAN MAMMA MIA (66gt) F 29/7/08

AC ADOLESCENT ADULT

1ST MRS S CHANCE’S CHESLO FRITTON SADIE (15) F 28/5/08

– Black of excellent shape and size and a very pretty young lady. Compact well balanced body with a full broad chest. Short strong legs and rounded paws. Large round head with good width between neat ears. Large round eyes which are spaced well apart and are copper in colour. Short broad straight nose. Full round cheeks firm chin. Level bite. Coat is short, dense and crisp. Jet black colour to her coat and it is sound to the roots. Tail thick and of medium length. It is thicker at the base with a rounded tip.

2ND MRS L BROWN’S LYNBRO LAYLA (16) F 21/3/08

– British Blue who is cobby and stands on short strong legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between ears which are a little tall at the moment. Round expressive orange eyes. Nose short, broad and straight with full blue leather. Level bite. Cheeks could be a little fuller with firm chin. Light blue shade to coat which is almost sound and it is dense, short and crisp. Tail medium in length, it is thick and has a rounded tip. She was a little nervous today and did not show herself off too well.

3RD MRS J WHINES’S TEMPLEGATES JAZDANE ORIEL (75) F 7/6/08

– Golden who is a lovely shape and size. She stands low on her legs on round firm paws. Body is compact and well balanced. Head round with full cheeks. Ears are small and rounded and fit well into the contours of hr head. Green eyes which are outlined in black, they are a little small and deep set. Short, broad and straight nose with full brick leather which is outlined in black. Good bite. Chin is a little weak. Coat is a rich golden apricot colour sound to the roots with even black tipping. Legs showing tipping. Chin, stomach, chest and underparts are a pale apricot colour. Tail is thick and medium in length with a rounded tip.
