Cheshire Area Cat Club Show Report
8th November 2008
Dr Peter Collin

I would like to thank Pat and Dorothy for the kind invitation to this one of my local shows. It was a pleasure to attend and the size and quality of the Burmese entry was very good- thank you to the exhibitors for making me work hard! Thanks also to my very competent steward Jan Bradley for looking after me so well.

Class 397 Blue Burmese Kitten

1st and BOB Marriott-Power and Marriott’s Rumba Lavender Blue (27a) 05/04/08:

A happy relaxed kitten enjoying her day out. She had a fairly short wedge with reasonably good width at her cheekbones and tapering to a blunt finish to her muzzle that I would have preferred slightly shorter. She had good rounding to the top of her head and reasonably good width between her ears that would have benefitted from being set slightly lower. Her ears were medium to large in size and were the correct shape having a broad base and rounded tips. Her eyes were medium in size and were set well apart and were the correct shape having a rounded bottom line and a flatter top line slanted towards her nose. They were chartreuse in colour. She had a nice Burmese expression. In profile her depth of head was good and her ears showed slight forward tilt. She had a gently rounded brow and a well defined nose break. Her nose was reasonably short and had a roll off at the tip but finished in the same vertical plane as her chin that was of medium depth. Her bite was correct. Her body was well grown and her muscularity was developing. She had a rounded chest and a straight back and she had elegant legs that ended in neat oval shaped paws. Her tail was the correct shape having a medium base and tapering to a rounded tip and was long enough to balance. Her coat was medium in length and soft in texture and was nice and close. It was a mid-toned Blue shade with some silvering on her face and paws and she was clear coated. Her condition was good and she was calm and playful throughout.

Class 399a Lilac Burmese Kitten Male

1st Campbell’s Miciasali Moshe (27c) 16/02/08:

A relaxed cheerful chap who was almost adult. He had a shortish wedge with reasonably good width at his cheekbones and tapering to a blunt finish to his muzzle. The top of his head was gently rounded and he had reasonably good width between his ears that I would have preferred set slightly lower for preference although they improved as he relaxed. His ears were largish in size and were the correct shape having a broad base and rounded tips. His eyes were medium in size and set well apart with a rounded bottom line and a straighter top line angled towards his nose. They were pale yellow in colour. He had a reasonably good Burmese expression that would have been improved by slightly larger eye size. In profile his depth of head was good and his ears showed slight forward tilt. He had a rounded brow and a reasonably well defined nose break. His nose was slightly long and straight and finished in the same vertical line as his chin that was slightly shallow. His body was well grown and his muscularity was developing well. His chest was rounded and his back was straight. His tail was slightly thick at the base and tapered to a rounded tip and was long enough to balance. His coat was medium in length and soft and lay well. He was a darker toned lilac colour with some blue-ish masking on his face and tail. He was clear coated. His condition was good and he was friendly and inquisitive throughout.

Class 399b Lilac Burmese Kitten Female

1st and BOB McCormick’s Aureus Prettypenny (27c) 26/03/08:

A slightly shy girl with promising type and really lovely eyes. She had a short wide wedge with good width at her cheekbones and tapering to a blunt finish to her muzzle that would have benefitted from being a little shorter. Her top of head showed excellent rounding and width between her ears that were set wide apart to continue the line of the upper part of her face. Her ears were medium in size and had broad bases and rounded tips. Her eyes were a strong feature being large and lustrous, set well apart and had a very well defined shape with a well rounded bottom line and a straighter top line that was angled towards her nose. They were gold in colour. She had a lovely Burmese expression. In profile her depth of skull was good and her ears showed a slight forward tilt. Her brow was rounded and her nose break was well defined. Her nose was slightly long and straight and finished in the same vertical plane as her chin that was of medium depth. Her bite was correct. Her body was well grown and her muscularity was developing well. Her chest was rounded and her back was straight. Her legs were elegant and her paws were neat and oval shaped. The base of her tail was slightly thick and tapered to a rounded tip and was long enough to balance. Her coat was medium in length and lay close. She was a pale lilac with some warmth showing pinkish tones. She was clear coated. Her condition was very good and although shy she handled very well. A very nice surprise to see her!

2nd Baker’s Vintarn Cho Linosa (27c) 18/07/08:

Youngster of the class but actually the most self assured. She had a nice short wide wedge with good width at her cheekbones and tapering to a short blunt finish to her muzzle that was slightly pinched probably due to teething today. The top of her head showed good rounding and excellent width between her ears that were set well apart and continued the shape of the upper part of her face. Her ears were medium in size and had a broad base and rounded tips. Her eyes were small to medium in size and were unfortunately almond shaped today. They were a nice yellow tone. Her expression was spoiled by her eye size and shape today. In profile her depth of head was good and her ears showed slight forward tilt. Her brow was gently rounded and her nose break was well defined. Her nose was fairly short and straight and finished in the same vertical plane as her chin that was of medium depth. Her bite was correct and she was teething today. Her body was well grown and her muscularity was developing well. Her chest was rounded and her back was straight. She had elegant legs and neat oval paws. Her tail was a little short to balance and had a medium thick base and tapered to a rounded tip. Her coat was medium in length and soft in texture and she was a darker toned lilac with some pinkish overtones beginning to develop. She was clear coated. Her condition was very good and she was very easy to handle. She had a lovely wedge and head type that was spoiled by her eye shape and size today that was could well have been adversely affected by her teething.

Class 665 AC Burmese Non-Breeders Adult Lovely class headed by 3 super youngsters.

1st Gorman’s Molynmeux Demeuxre (27c) 07/12/07:

A promising young girl with super eyes and Burmese expression. She has a short wide wedge with good width at her cheekbones and tapering to a short blunt finished muzzle. Class 777 AC Burmese Neuter

1st Crow and Goss’s GrPr Kagura Gloriana (27) 25/04/99:

What a charming girl. Super type only bettered by her lovely temperament! She had a super short wide wedge with very good width at her cheek bones and tapering to a short and blunt muzzle. She had excellent rounding to the top of her head and good width between her ears that I would have liked set a little lower for perfection. Her ears were on the smaller side of medium and a correct shape with a broad base and rounded tips. Her eyes were a super feature being large and lustrous and set well apart and had a well defined shape with a well rounded bottom line and a straighter top line angled towards her nose. She had a lovely Burmese expression. In profile her depth of skull was very good and her ears showed slight forward tilt. Her brow was rounded and her nose break was very well defined. Her nose was short and straight and finished in the same vertical plane as her chin that was lovely and deep. Her bite was correct although teeth were missing. Her body was the petite side of medium and of lovely weight and was firm and muscular. She had a rounded chest and a straight back. Her tail was medium thick at the base and tapered to a rounded tip and was long enough to balance. Her coat was medium in length and lay well. It was a rich seal brown and she had a few white hairs on her upper shoulders. She was clear coated. Her condition was good and she had a very loving temperament.
