CUMBERLAND CAT CLUB

11th October, 2008.

DR BRUCE BENNETT

A packed Show, run with panache by Jenny and Ian, to whom many thanks for the invitation, and the wonderful Cumberland sausage, greatly appreciated (already!). Thanks also to my friend Ian Thomson who stepped in to steward at short notice and whose company and expert handling of the exhibits were very welcome on a busy day.

AC SIAMESE/BALINESE CHAMPION MALE.
GR CC. CANEYS CH MERRYTAIL MYHINENI. (24c) 1yr 8mths.

Excellent type to this retiring fellow. Beautiful, equilateral even wedge, ears well flared in alignment with it, eyes of very good oriental shape and incline, very attractive clear bright blue. Very good, even profile, chin lines up, incisors very untidy but basically level. Firmly muscled body of medium size, balancing limbs and tail. Coat short and close, good fine texture, showing matching soft lilac points, slight brindling on tail, excellent contrast to magnolia body that shows a hint of toning shading over the hips. I understand that today’s certificate makes him up; congratulations.

RES GR CC. MORGAN’S CH ASTRALBLAESE PERSEUS. (24n) 2yrs 4mths.

Large male of good type with a long wedge, good breadth between well flared ears of size, eyes just a little open, blue acceptable but would prefer a little more depth to it for perfection. Excellent straight profile, another set of very irregular incisors, on average meeting. Lovely big strong body, limbs and tail in balance. Coat texture good, soft lilac based caramel points well matched, good contrast to off white body.

ORIENTAL CINNAMON ADULT MALE.

1. CC Withheld. DIXON’S BILLSTES FANTASTIC MR FOX. M. (37k) 1yr 3mths.

Huge gentleman with a very strongly boned wedge on which ears are set quite well, could be a little larger to balance it all, oriental shape to his slightly deep set eyes of olive, very good straight profile, chin and bite level. Huge strong body and limbs to match, tail of good length, dark cinnamon coat slightly uneven in shade over the back; unfortunately it is very unsound and has a sprinkling of white on the sporran area that precluded the certificate, to my disappointment as I believe he is about to emigrate to Sweden with his owner. My best wishes to all concerned.

ORIENTAL CINNAMON KITTEN.

1. BoB. HAMILTON’S ADATESH THIEFOFHEARTS. F. (37k) 6mths 2wk.

Neat little person of good basic type, medium length wedge, little pinch, ears quite well spaced and flared, surprised oriental eyes, olive toned, good straight profile, chin slopes back a little, bite level. Dainty body, balancing limbs and tail that shows a tiny expansion of the terminal vertebra, and needs a little length. Coat of kittenish softness, fairly sound soft cinnamon with a hint of warmth. Cheeky!

ORIENTAL BICOLOUR KITTEN.

1. BoB. SAMPHIER’S EIREACHDAIL IVEGOTRHYTM. F. (48.40t) 4mths 4wks.

Girl of very good development for her youth and of very pleasing type. Lovely balanced wedge head with super broad top between ears of excellent size and flare, eyes of good oriental shape, marginally open and of a good blue shade. Coat of good short length and fine texture, very extensive white with small patches of colour on mask, extremities and tail. Body looks almost completely white at present, well ringed seal tabby tail, whisker spots and faint tabby tracings on the small coloured patches on the muzzle and left side of forehead.

ORIENTAL BLACK NEUTER.

1. PC. BoB. HALLIDAY’S TOGHAR MIDNIGHT MAGIC. MN. (37) 11mths 3wks.

Formidable gentleman of great presence. Long, strong wedge head, graced by large ears, open and well set, wicked oriental expression to his light green oriental eyes. Very good straight profile, deep muzzle, level chin, dazzling white Shere Khan dentition that meets. Body long and strong, limbs and tail in balance, tiny expansion of last vertebra, alignment correct. Superb close shining sound black mantle.

ORIENTAL SPOTTED TABBY NEUTER.

BoB Withheld. BRUNO’S PR EIREACHDAIL LOVE LOVEMEDO. MN. (38f) 2yrs 6mths.

Loved this boy’s strong, even, wedge with very attractive broad top and well flared ears, oriental eyes perhaps marginally open, light green with a wonderful expression. Good straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Large strong body and limbs, tail balancing. Coat a pleasant slightly dark cream on head, with sheeny biscuit tones to the very faint forehead lines, darkening ‘southwards’ till on the tail it looks virtually apricot. Pattern only very faintly etched even for this dilute colour where contrast is minimal; what is discernible on the body shows extensive linkage. Very nice lad nonetheless.

AC BALINESE ADULT.

1. CC. BoB. BULFORD’S PIPPASTRO PANDORA’S BOX. F. (61n) 1yr 5mths.

Neat little lady with a shorter wedge on which large ears are very well spaced and show attractive flare in good alignment. Eyes are of a very good blue and are basically oriental in shape though held too open. Gentle angle to profile at the brows, chin and bite level. Dainty body and limbs, tail in balance. Coat of excellent silken texture and flow, just long enough on the body, lightly plumed tail, tiny toe tufts. Good soft caramel points with excellent contrast to the beautiful clear unshaded body. The eyes gave me a bit of pause, which I managed to overcome.

TABBY POINT KITTEN FEMALE.

1. BoB. BRASH’S RIVANESS MIZ PRISSY. F. (32.2) 7mths. Girl of length and elegance, good equilateral wedge head, tiny pinch, large ears spaced and set well in line, almond shaped eyes, inclined well, held just a little open, excellent blue tone. Good straight profile, chin slopes back somewhat, incisors scissored over at present but they meet. Body slender and lithe, long limbs and tail to balance. Close coat showing well developed tabby pattern in good blue tone, attractive cool body showing soft toning shading.

RED POINT NEUTER.

1. PC. MATHER’S GR PR STATIONARY SCARLETSHADOW. MN. (32a) 3yrs 3mths.

Large strong male neuter of most pleasing type and colour. Even triangular wedge, hint of jowls now, broad top between large flared ears, appealingly attentive, good oriental eye shape, excellent depth of blue. Profile shows a gentle patrician arch, chin lines up, excellent teeth and bite. Long, strong body, matched by proportionate limbs and tail. Coat marginally long and the teeniest bit fluffy, warm red mask and on the gently ringed tail, some soft shading in matching tone on the contrasting body.

2. THORPE’S GR PR JOHPAS SUNNY-JIM. MN. (32a) 2yrs 7mths.

Another elegant large neuter of good type. Long, gently pinched wedge with inclined oriental eyes of good blue, ears set well. Very good profile, chin level, irregular incisors meet. Long strong body, limbs and tail ditto. Coat a little open, shows light bright red points, good contrast to creamy, warm white body.

BoB. THORPE’S PR JOHPAS DROPREDGORGEOUS. MN 11mths 3wks.

Just a youngster, but wow, what an eye catcher!! And so well named. Stunning wedge with terrific breadth at the top between huge flared ears sometimes held a little low, eyes of good oriental shape and excellent blue with the most imperious bored expression as he surveyed lesser mortals down his aristocratic profile. Long tubular body, matched limbs, tail needs a little length to keep up. Points very light red as yet, would like a little more brightness but he has time, striking pale clear body.

TABBY POINT NEUTER MALE.

 1. PC. JOHNSON’S SULALAYA SAVANA GOLD. MN. (32.10) 1yr 8mths.

Met this lad when he was just turning adult; how he has changed! His head, formerly quite short, has lengthened considerably and is now quite long; it has breadth at the top with ears nicely flared in line, excellent oriental shape to his eyes, set just marginally close, good blue to their tone. Good profile, level chin and bite. Body, always substantial I recall, is now very long and strong, limbs in keeping, tail needing a little more to balance. Coat smooth, soft apricot tabby markings, with good contrast to the body that shows matching warm shading down the spine. Retiring disposition, not inclined for social discourse, or making the most of himself.

2. PR SHIMILEETA STONECOLDCRAZY. MN. (32.3) 2yrs 1wk.

Cautious neuter of good type, treading carefully. Medium wedge, quite good width between ears well set, would like them a tiny bit larger. Eyes shape oriental good blue. Gently curved profile, level chin and bite. Body strong and well developed, balanced limbs and tail. Very good warm chocolate tabby points, even the well marked tail rings, with excellent contrast to the lovely clear ivory body.

Considered also for BoB. PAGE’S PR ASHJOLEX ZACHARYBINX. MN. (32.1) 1yr 5mths.

Boy of good type, even wedge, just a little narrow at its top, well set ears of size, oriental eyes of very good blue. Straight profile, level chin and bite. Body of mid size, limbs and tail to match. Excellent tabby points pattern, body quite heavily shaded in cool tone.

TABBY POINT NEUTER FEMALE.

1. PC.BoB. FRENCH’S GR CH & GR PR NEXSIS MADAMWAZEL CARAMEL. FN. (32.8) 4yrs 5mths.

Mature lady whom I have always admired for the very even lines of her attractive wedge, all just as it should be, ears set in exact line with the wedge, lovely oriental shape and incline to her deep blue eyes. Very good straight profile, chin and bite line up. Body now just a hint matronly, but people in glass houses………. Silken coat, well matched caramel points, body now showing more shading over the back than ideal, good contrast to bib and tummy.

AC SELF ORIENTAL KITTEN.

1. RICE’S SEIDO SULTRESS OF SWING. F. (37). 5mths 4wks.

Elegant lass with a very good equilateral wedge head on which ears of good size are well placed and flared in alignment, well shaped oriental green eyes, straight profile, but chin recedes a bit and bite is marginally over. Body, limbs and tail in pleasing balance. Stunning shiny sound black coat.

 2. HAMILTON’S ADATESH THIEFOFHEARTS. F. (37k) 6mths 2wks.

AC SELF ORIENTAL NEUTER.

1. HALLIDAY’S PR TOGHAR TERRACOTA. MN. (37d) 1yr 2mths.

Lovely type to this slender lad, very good wedge, long and even, ears open and well flared in line, eyes of very good shape, green in tone. Profile almost straight, chin lines up, incisors meet. Lithe body, balanced by proportionate limbs and tail. Slick coat in rich red tone, sound, modest permitted ghost tabbying evident.

2. LOWELL’S PR SUSPIRIA WILLIAM BECKFORD. MN. (37k) 1yr 6mths.

This boy has a strong, short wedge head, sporting ears quite well spaced and flared, eyes of light green. The profile undulates gently, chin is firm and incisors meet. Big strong body and limbs, tail in keeping. Healthy coat in darker cinnamon, not wholly sound, good texture.

3. HAMILTON’S PR EMERPUS HOCUS POCUS. MN. (37k) 2yrs 5mths.

Mature fellow with a long, very narrow wedge head, making his eyes look very inclined; ears of size, follow its lines well; the whole wedge needs more breadth at the top (Definitely a long isosceles!). Profile shows a gentle depression above the brows, chin and bite level. Long slender body, limbs and tail (to go with his long slender head!). Coat soft, medium to dark cinnamon, fairly sound.

AC TORTIE OR TABBY POINT ADULT.

1. HARVEY’S ADVIAM PINUP POPPY. F. (32.1) 2yrs 11mths.

Girl of very good type with a very well balanced, equilateral wedge head, on which large ears are very well set; eyes of good almond shape, nicely inclined and of very good deep blue. Profile virtually straight, firm chin, level bite, very pale gums. Graceful, lithe body of mid size, limbs and tail in proportion. Very good coat quality, short, close and fine, feeling like silk, showing well marked seal tabby points, thumb prints, single cheek lines, tail ringing and leg bracelets, contrasting with the body that shows only gentle shading.

2. BULFORD’S GENETTA CAVALLERIA M. (32.2) 1yr 7mths.

Pleasing fellow with a neat, even wedge on which sizeable ears are set quite well. Eyes of good oriental shape and excellent depth of blue. Profile shows a gentle superior arch, chin slopes back gently. Slender body, a little dainty, balancing limbs and tail. Close smooth coat shows tabby points pattern in lovely soft blue contrasting well with the attractive, cool, gently shaded body.

AC DEBUTANTE ADULT.

1. BULFORD’S GENETTA CAVALLERIA. M. (32.2) 1yr 7mths.

AC NOVICE ADULT.

1. MASON’S GENETTA ISLAYMIST. F. (24c) 10mths 4wks.

Pleasing lass, only just adult, with a medium length wedge head, ears set well, would like a little more spacing, oriental eyes of very good blue. Good straight profile, level chin and bite. Dainty adolescent body, matching limbs and tail. Close coat, well matched points of mid lilac shade with excellent contrast to the excellent clear magnolia body.

 AC MAIDEN ADULT.

1. FRENCH’S CALIGANZA CHANSON DAMOUR. F. (24a) 10mths.

Girl of excellent type, exquisite even, equilateral wedge head, ears of excellent size, spaced and flared to enhance it, super oriental eyes of blue. Very good straight profile, chin slopes away a bit, bite level. Long svelte body with limbs to match and tail that unfortunately has a terminal defect. Good close coat texture, points matching, of a darker blue, shady body.

2. BULFORD’S PIPPASTRO PANDORA’S BOX. F. (61n) 1yr 5mths.

Profile arches, little bump at brow level, chin slopes very slightly, bite meets. Long lithe body, limbs and tail in proportion. Coat longish but smooth lying, showing rich, slightly darker chocolate points, mask not quite complete on muzzle, excellent contrast to the ivory body that shows only a hint of shading.

AC NON-BREEDER’S NEUTER.

1. UK & IGR PR ROYSTERER APRIL FOOL. MN. (24c) 10yrs 6mths.

Oh my goodness, what a wonderful fellow, and over 10 years old. A huge, great senior of super type and colour, with a demeanour that radiates dignity and wisdom. Very strong, even wedge head, large ears well spaced and flared to complement it, wise oriental eyes of good blue. Profile shows a proud arch, muzzle is of wonderful depth, chin is firm, upper incisors gone but other teeth in good order. Very large strong body, but still trim, limbs and tail proportionate. Glorious coat, well matched soft lilac points with appropriate warmth, contrasting with a superb, totally unshaded, magnolia body. Remarkable
