My thanks to Grave and her committee for the invitation, as always it was a fun show with some lovely cats. I was delighted to have Andy Finch stewarding for me, he handles all cats with ease and is great company, I’ve already booked him for the future.

BRITISH BLUE ADULT MALE

1. C.C. B.O.B. STUBBS’S WILLOWWOOD AUGUSTUS GOOP (16) M 25/05/09

A huge boy with just the most delightful nature, huge well developed head with wide smooth skull between well set ears with rounded tips. Large round eyes a super deep orange colour, short nose with rather a dip when viewed in profile but this was balanced by full well developed cheeks and rounded muzzle, his bite has level incisors with slightly dished top canine’s, firm chin. He has a massive frame which was rather long, when he fills out he will need a block to lift him if he doesn’t want to get up. Short coat with super density a pleasing sound mid blue just a touch on the soft side, balanced length rather full tail.

2. BROMLEY’S ADATESH LUCKY STAR (16) M 15/06/08

This boy was not at all happy, despite being a year older than my winner he had a very adolescent look to him. Small head with narrow top and medium sized ears, round light orange coloured eyes, short straight nose, he is lacking cheeks and muzzle which is what makes him look much younger than he is, level bite and rather weak chin. Small framed with short finely boned limbs, short coat that lacked density it was unsound to the roots and showed some barring to the ends, rather long slightly thin tail.

BRITISH BLUE ADULT FEMALE

 1. C.C. BROWN’S LYNBRO LAYLA (16) F 21/03/08

A rather shy girl not hugely happy but not difficult to handle. Round head with slightly narrow skull between medium sized ears, large round orange eyes, short broad nose, her cheeks are quite full, she has a very strong muzzle and rather weak chin but despite this has a level bite. Compact shaped body with good boning to limbs, short but slightly soft light blue coat that was a fraction longer along her spine line, slightly short tail that was very thick to the base and pointed to the tip.

A.C. SELKIRK REX PREMIER MALE

 1. G.P.C. CREATON & WALKERS CH & PR CURLU NATE (79L 15) MN 19/04/08

Black Longhair. I gave this boy a C.C when he was entire and said what a lovely nature, I am afraid he was having an off day and was a tad grumpy today he really told us what he thought as we put him back in his pen. Broad head with round underlying bone structure, well set medium size ears with broad base and rounded at the to tips. He would not open his eyes and gave us a very slit eyed glare, short nose with downward slant, full muzzle with well padded whisker pads and rectangular impression, level bite good chin. Nice weight and size to body with a rectangular shape and sturdy boned limbs. He has a summer coat which was very well prepared, quite good ruff, more crimped than curled to his back. Medium length tail with crinkles rather than curls.

BRITISH RED SPOTTED NEUTER

B.O.B. TO WITHEY’S IGR PR STONNALL ROCKEE (30d) MN 15/06/05

 BRITISH BLACK SILVER SPOTTED NEUTER

1. P.C. B.O.B. WITHEY CH & GR PR SHAMISSYL SILVER SURPRISE (30s) MN 31/08/96

What an old sweetie, he was so relaxed he didn’t want to stand up but did give us a loud purr when we finally persuaded him to. Large round head with smooth top and medium sized well set eats, large round eyes that still have a hint of green, short broad nose full cheeks and rounded muzzle, level bite, I was amazed he has nearly all his teeth still, fair chin. As is the way will all content neuters he is a little on the rotund side, luckily he has very thick well boned legs to hold him up. Short dark silver coat with dense black markings, it lacked density due to moulting, clear facial markings, slightly linked spine line, the side spots are clearer, short ringed tail.

DEVON REX NEUTER MALE

1. P.C. RICE’S CH & PR BOUNTIFUL JOEBALCK (33a 36) MN 25/12/08

Black Smoke. Friendly but shy, short quite broad wedge with high cheek bones, rounded brow and wide flat skull between only medium sized ears set a fraction high, they have good width to the base. Large eyes with good set and lovely expression a fraction on the round side, short nose with more of a slope than stop, the muzzle and whisker break rather merged together, level bite and fair chin. Elegant neck, firm lithe body with slim legs and oval paws, short silky coat covering all of his body with well formed ripples, long tapering tail well covered with short fur.

2. MAPES’S KARAKUL BEAU REGARD (33a 18) MN 13/08/09

Silver Tabby. What a gorgeous nature this boy has he was head butting and purring all the time, he is a tad on the plum side but I can see why he’s so indulged. Short broad wedge with high cheek bones, rounded brow and fairly flat rather narrow skull between high set ears that are medium in size and tufted to the tips. His eyes have a slight slant to outer edge, short nose which has a slight dip but no stop, his muzzle is thin and rounded but there is no real whisker break, level bite, his chin falls away. A big boy with a well developed body his coat is a tending to medium length and covers all of his body with only slight curls. Long tail well covered with fur.

DEVON REX NEUTER FEMALE

B.O.B. HOLLOWAY’S PR MICAJAS VALLA MAJIC (33a 36d) FN 04/08/06

A super natured girl with lovely pixie look.

1. P.C. KEATES’S IGR CH & PR PHILOKALIA JOCELYN FAFURST (33a 36) FN 30/07/00

Black Smoke. A super natured girl, short broad wedge with high cheeks bones, flat skull between large ears that have width to base and fair set, large oval shaped eyes that slope towards outer edge, she has a long white lash above her left eye. Short nose with definite stop, rounded muzzle and well defined whisker break with short white whiskers, level bite and quite firm chin. As befits a happy neuter she is really rather rotund and has sturdy legs to hold it all up, super short dense coat that covers all of her body and shows well formed waves all over, long tapering tail covered with short fur.

THREE COUNTIES CAT SOCIETY 21st August, 2010 DR BRUCE BENNETT

Many congratulations to Sheila and Ivor on this most enjoyable Show and for carrying it off despite the fire alarm in the afternoon. My thanks for their invitation and hospitality; thanks too, to Irene Roos for coming to steward and for making the day so pleasant and problem free. Best wishes for your next engagement and may it be as successful, Irene.

SIAMESE/BALINESE GRAND PREMIER MALE.

IMP GR PC to HUTCHING’S GR PR MAFDET MACARTHUR MN. (32 8) 1yr 4mths.

Very handsome neuter gentleman of very good type. Lovely even wedge with super breadth at its top between large ears widely flared in becoming alignment, splendid oriental set to his almond eyes of good depth of blue. Profile straight, chin lines up, irregular incisors meet well. Firm body of medium size, proportionate limbs, neat paws, tail might have just a tiny bit more for balance. Coat of good smooth texture, marginally long, excellent typical caramel points pattern with forehead M, single eye lines, thumb prints, excellent tail rings, super contrast to unshaded off white coat that had hints of ivory in the Hall light.

RES IMP GR PC to EMMENS’ GR PR JOHPAS JACK SPARROW. MN. (32c) 2yrs 11mths.

Very shy boy today, very handsome, even, shorter wedge, excellent broad top between large ears, the set of which he was reluctant to reveal but seemed good, oriental eyes of blue, set well. Profile shows just a little bump over the muzzle, chin lines up, irregular incisors level. Body large and strong, would have been of good length had he relaxed and straightened out, slender limbs, tail also would benefit from just a tad more to balance. Coat close and smooth, shows points that are now a hint warm, excellent texture to his off white body where there is a little shading evident, also marginally warm.

SIAMESE/BALINESE GRAND PREMIER FEMALE.

IMP GR PC to GR CH & IMP GR PR ABICASA CARMINA BURANA. FN. (24c) 3yrs 6mths.

Very handsome lilac lady, showing excellent type and strong development. Very good even wedge with super width between large open, flaring ears, lovely oriental eyes of deep blue, good to see in a lilac. Profile virtually straight, chin lines up well, very good bite. Graceful neck, very strong body development, with good substance, proportionate limbs, neat paws, tail might be just a little longer for preference. Sleek coat shows pleasing soft lilac points with a hint of warmth, good contrast to the magnolia body that shows a trace of toning shading. Bursting with condition and confidence. Later Best Siamese Exhibit, Congratulations.

RES IMP GR PC to EMMENS’ CH & GR PR JOHPAS BLONDE BOMBSHELL FN (32c) 6yrs 11mths.

Very attractive strong girl with a medium length, even wedge on which ears are well placed and flared in line with the wedge. Oriental eyes of very good blue. Profile now shows just a slight dish from the brow, chin and bite level. Very good strong body and limbs, tail balances. Coat a little long but texture smooth, very good soft cream points with super contrast to the rather cool, off white body that shows very little shading. Like her stable mate seemed very diffident today.

 ORIENTAL BLUE KITTEN, MALE.

1 BoB. McCULLOCH’S NUTROSTAR BLUE-MOON. F. (37a) 7mths 1wk.

Feisty little madam of good basic type. Wedge even with ears of good size and openness, placed well though would prefer just a little more flare, eyes of oriental shape, marginally open but she spent a lot of her time on her toes, clear green. Profile virtually straight, level chin and bite. Dainty, feminine body, limbs and tail to match. Coat texture good, sound but rather a dark blue, with just hints of brown which made me pause; pads also not quite typical blue though nose leather is. I debated about this for a while, eventually gave her the benefit and awarding the BoB, but will be interested to see how her colour develops.

 ORIENTAL TORTIE NEUTER.

1. LEE’S PR WILLHAVETODO WINNITHEWITCH. FN. (37e) 4yrs 3mths.

Lady with a very good even wedge, splendid width at the top between flaring ears of size, inclined almond eyes of pale greenish gold. Angled profile, chin slopes away a little, bite level. Strong body and limbs, tail could be a little longer for balance. Close lying coat shows warm breaks in the black.

 2. BAXTER’S PR SOLARUS ALLTHATJAZZ. FN. (37y) 2yrs 5mths.

A very appealing lady with a medium length wedge, tiny pinch, ears well placed, might be just a tad larger, eyes well shaped, held a little open, bright green in tone. Profile virtually straight, strong chin, bite meets. Firm body and limbs, tail has a minute terminal expansion. Gorgeous coat, texture smooth, a lovely warm mushroom shade with rather warm breaks evident.

BoB to LEE’S CH & IUK GR PR WILLHAVETODO OUIJA BOARD. FN. (37p) 4yrs 3mths.

Serene and stately as ever, splendid top to her beautiful wedge, superior expression to her oriental deep green eyes, straight profile, firm chin and level bite. Balanced body and limbs, tail to match. Coat of super texture, typical taupe with warm breaks to it. A pleasure to have met her several times recently in her glamorous mature years.

ORIENTAL CREAM/APRICOT NEUTER

 BoB LUNGDREN’S PR SAIKOU THESUNDANCEKID. MN. (37fn) 1yr 7mths

.Gangly boy of good type, nice broad top between large flaring ears, excellent oriental eyes of green, straight profile, chin slopes away slightly, incisors meet. Firmly muscled body and limbs, shapely paws, balancing tail. Coat a bright apricot shade, showing some soft tabby ghosting.

ORIENTAL CINNAMON NEUTER.

BoB TO WEAVER’S GR PR SUNJADE SKIPPER. MN. (37k) 2yrs 10mths.

Huge strong individual his size in contrast to his apparently timid nature. Short, strongly boned wedge on which ears that could be a little larger for balance are spaced and flared quite well. Eyes almond shaped, olive toned. Profile almost straight, firm chin, level bite. Immense, strong body, limbs and tail to match. Rich, almost sound, warm cinnamon coat.

SEAL POINT SIAMESE ADULT.

1. CC MOSS’S KATZINE DELTA. F. (24) 2yrs 3mths.

Girl of sound type. Medium wedge, ears well placed and flared, almond eyes of reasonable depth of blue. Good straight profile, chin slopes a little, bite level.. Firm body and limbs, neat paws, tail balances. Coat texture good, seal points showing a few bare patches on backs of ears (OKed by duty vet), good contrast to the warm body tone.

BoB to MARTIN’S CH ABICASA AMAZING GRACE. F. (24) 1yr 7mths.

Long slender lady, given to typical Siamese ‘quacking’. Excellent even triangular wedge, super deep blue orientally shaped eyes, large ears flared in line. Profile virtually straight, level chin and bite. Long lithe body and limbs, tail to match. Good warm seal points, contrast to the rather cool shaded body.

BLUE POINT SIAMESE ADULT FEMALE.

1. CC. BoB. SIBLEY’S ATARIQ SIAN. F. (24a) 1yr 11mths.

Large, mature girl with a triangular wedge, wee pinch just showing, broad top between sizeable ears flared in alignment, inclined oriental eyes of good blue. Profile shows a shallow dish on the muzzle, chin and bite level. Slender neck, firm body, matching limbs and tail. Coat shows very good soft blue points with very good contrast to the almost glacial body that shows a little shading over the back.

AC BALINESE NEUTER..

 1. PC. BoB. WOODHOUSE’S DORAL LE BRUIN. MN. (61fnt) 10mths 1wk.

Appealing young gent with a very good even triangular wedge, broad top on which are set ears of good size and flare. Eyes are of oriental shape and incline, set marginally close. Good profile, level chin and bite that meets. Strong body and limbs, tail balances. Coat of soft texture but a little full, rather than flowing as yet. Soft points colour evident on the forehead M, faint eye lines, hocks and tail tip, perhaps a single tail ring, super clear warm white body.

AC ORIENTAL JUNIOR.

 1. BAILEY’S WESTGARTH BATOUT OF HELL. M. (37) 10mths 4wks.

Strapping long lithe youth. Long wedge, large ears spaced well, might show a trifle more flare for preference, Eyes of oriental shape, green could be more intense, but have lovely fierce expression. Excellent, smooth, gently convex profile, chin slopes back a little, bite meets. Body of huge length, limbs match and lengthy tail balances. Excellent shining black coat.

AC ORIENTAL SENIOR.

1. HATCHETT’S NUTROSTAR HONEYSUCKLE ROSE. F. (43e) 2yrs 11mths.

Plaintive lady, lovely appearance, even wedge, excellent large, flared ears, eyes of oriental shape and incline, needing a little more clarity of green. Gentle arch to her profile, level chin, incisors meet. Firm, feminine body, limbs and tail in keeping. Coat shows lots of warm reds overlying and predominating over the black, pigment bands quite broad, so undercoat seems short and not clearly defined beneath all these markings, clear tabby patterns on mask, limbs and tail.

 AC ORIENTAL KITTEN.

1. McDOUGAL’S NUTROSTAR JOE’S SMOKEY SKIES. M. (42) 7mths 1wk.

Striking boy with a medium wedge on which ears are reasonably well spaced and flared, oriental eyes slightly open, green there. Very good straight profile, chin lines up, bite meets. Lengthy firm body and limbs, tail matching. Super coat shows lovely shading, the dazzling silver about half way up the hair shafts on the body, a pleasure to see..

2. . McCULLOCH’S NUTROSTAR BLUE-MOON. F. (37a) 7mths 1wk.

 AC ORIENTAL NON BREEDER’S KITTEN.

 1. McDOUGAL’S NUTROSTAR JOE’S SMOKEY SKIES. M. (42) 7mths 1wk.
 2. CONSTABLE’S NUTROSTAR ZOUTHAN F. (29) 4mths 2wks

Boy of good type, long wedge, large ears spaced and flared well, oriental eyes that in the hall light appeared orange rather than green. Good profile, almost straight, chin and bite level. Balanced body, limbs and tail. Excellent, typical sound black coat.

AC ORIENTAL LIMIT.

1. CONSTABLE’S NUTROSTAR TORTALINA. F. (37e) 7mths 1wk.

Lass with a long, slightly narrow wedge on which large ears are well aligned, eyes of oriental shape and incline, green in tone. Profile almost straight, slight bump on occiput, chin lines up. Body long and slender, limbs similar, neat paws, balancing tail. Sleek black coat shows lovely bright red breaks.

2. McCULLOCH’S NUTROSTAR BLUE-MOON. F. (37a) 7mths 1wk.

AC ORIENTAL BREEDER’S (PR or GR PR).

1. LEE’S PR WILLHAVETODO WINNITHEWITCH. FN. (37e) 4yrs 3mths.

 AC NON-BREEDER’S SIAMESE or BALINESE.

 1. BUNYAN’S CH MAFDET BLUEMOON. M. (24n) 1yr 4mths.

Lad of good type, an even wedge, on which are set large ears showing good flare, eyes of good shape and blue tone. Profile shows a smooth arch, muzzle has pleasing depth, chin lines up, bite level. Lengthy wriggly body, limbs and tail proportionate. Coat of good texture, points colour makes his name understandable, very bluish in tone, body shows considerable matching shading.

 AC JUNIOR SIAMESE/BALINESE ADULT.
1. SIBLEY’S ATARIQ SIAN. F. (24a) 1yr 11mths.
2. COSGROVE’S ZARAFA PENELOPE PITSTOP. F. (32c) 1yr 2wks.

Sweet lass, still looks quite kittenish, neat even wedge with well flared ears and almond shaped inclined eyes of good blue. Profile straight, chin and bite level. Body rather heavier than the head would lead one to expect, limbs and tail match. Points a warmish cream with the tail showing considerable warmth, excellent body contrast.

SEAL OR BLUE POINT. KITTEN

1.COSGROVE & LAKE’S HARTZIE FORTUNE COOKIE. F. (24) 5mths 4wks.

Typy gIrl in a most combative mood. Broad at top wedge sporting large flared ears, oriental eyes flashing bolts of lightning, straight profile, bite not examined. Firm body and limbs, tail showing a kink. Typical seal points and muddy body.

BREED 24 BREEDERS’ KITTEN
1. MARTIN’S ABICASA NELLA FANTASIA. F. (24n) 8mths 1wk.

Lass with a lovely even wedge, super oriental eyes, beautifully spaced ears the set of which remained concealed as she held them permanently down but this was temperamental, not structural. Good, smoothly convex profile, chin lines up, bite meets. Well developed body with matching limbs and tail. Smooth coat shows blue based caramel points, good body contrast.

AC NOVICE KITTEN.

 1. PAUL’S ROZANDEN AEMILIA. F. (32a) 4mths 2wks.

Babe with a wedge that shows length already, needing a bit more breadth at its top, ears aligned, eyes of soft blue. Profile straight, chin lines up and incisors meet. Neat little body and limbs, tail matching. Soft baby coat shows a blush of red on the points, body pale and clear.

 BREED 32.

1. HUTCHING’S GR PR MAFDET MACARTHUR MN. (32 8) 1yr 4mths.
2. EMMENS’ GR PR JOHPAS JACK SPARROW. MN. (32c) 2yrs 11mths.

AC SENIOR MALE/FEMALE.

1. TURBULL’S PR MALIKASIAM MICKALA-MAY. FN. (24n) 2yrs 4mths.

Rather uncivil girl with a medium wedge needing a little more breadth at its top, ear aligned and of good size, eyes of good shape and depth of blue. Profile shows an angle at the brow, chin a little shallow and sloping, bite meets. Body, limbs and tail balance. Points colour rather silvery blue on the paws, browner toned elsewhere. Excellent clear body a bit ivory in tone rather than off white.

( PS - COPIES TO GCCF - SHOW MANAGER CHRIS BAMFORD - PLUS CAT PLANET PLEASE ! )

MY MANY THANKS TO SHOW MANAGER CHRIS AND ALL HER CATSHOW COMMITTEE - AND ALSO THE AIREDALE AGRICULTURAL SHOW - FOR A MOST MARVELLOUS MORNING JUDGING HOUSEHOLD PETS AT BINGLEY - INC. A LOVELY BUFFET LUNCH IN THE MARQUEE - NB - MY TWO SHOW DEVONS ADORED THE SLICES OF FRESH SALMON THAT WE SNEAKED BACK TO THEIR PENS A LITTLE LATER ! ALL THIS PLEASURE - PLUS THE CATSHOW JUDGES GIFT - AND THE BOTTLE OF BEST ITALIAN RED WINE FOR MY HUSBAND PETER WHO ACTED AS MY STEWARD - AND THOSE CROWDS OF AMAZED VISITORS WHO WANDERED THROUGH THE CAT TENT ALL AFTERNOON TO SEE THE FELINES IN THE SHOW AND ON DISPLAY - IT ALL MADE MY DAY SOMETHING SO SPECIAL TO TREASURE AT THIS ANNUAL EVENT THAT WE ALWAYS ADORE TO ATTEND ! PS - THE HOUSEHOLD PETS WERE ALL PURR-FECTLY BEHAVED AND WELL PREPARED - AND THEIR OWNERS SHOULD INDEED BE SO PROUD !! BABS CHIARA BAILEY

OPEN CLASSES - HOUSEHOLD PETS SELF (single colour) ADULT with or without white MALE

1ST - Christians GMC TEDDY BOY - blue MN aged 6

a large and lovely dark blue self coloured lad - superbly lush close textured coat of immense substance - and a most pleasing and gentle temperament -also well presented in his pen - soft green eyes and neat shaped ears - an adorable pert pussycats nose and oh those huge paws - a happy fellow who was the ideal introduction and start to this HP judges show day !

2nd - Hawkins LENNON

sh black and white MN aged 8 - another big and beautifully presented boy - again with green eyes and also a very gentle nature - with impeccably white socks and a wonderfully long set of matching white whiskers - so well presented - and adored his huge paws and handsome face - a couple of contrastic cats so a close run decision for me to make !

SELF (single colour) ADULT with or without white FEMALE

1st - Kidds GMC DAISY - an adorable black and white FN aged 4

a very pretty black and white lady with a plush cleanly groomed coat and neat little black ears - eyes like olives and petite paws - very good show preparations - and she shared a little soft spoken girlie cat chat with us - well awarded her a first place !

GINGER OR AC TORTOISHELL ADULT with/without white MALE

1st - Kidds GMC GARFIELD

amazed at his age saying he was 12 since he surely didn’t appear so senior - a typically ginger male neuter with the softer honey colours of his marvellous maturity - and large paws, rounded green eyes, very well groomed indeed - this guy was waiting for us to open his show pen so that he could simply stroll out onto the table to be judged - a most laidback and lovely lad indeed - many thanks for my seeing him at this show, since remember him from some years ago, and this gentleman wears his middle years with great dignity and a gentle good nature ! Nb - not one of all these adult cats seemed to act their ages at all, which was an absolute delight to me, because I have some seven middle aged and senior HPs at home myself - and its all their show owners love, time, and lots of TLC that makes them stay this young and active !!

GINGER OR AOC TORTOISHELL ADULT with/without white FEMALE

1st - Kidds GMC HANNAH - tortie and white FN aged 10

again a lady who looked far younger for a feline of her calendar age ! Rich coppery coat, neatly patterned - so pretty paws, gentle green eyes, very good presentation - such a sweet girl - special thanks for entering her in this class !

ANY OTHER COLOUR OR PATTERN ADULT with/without white FEMALE

I only judged her in side classes - so not in my own opens sadly - but she was also my shared eventual nomination for the BIS ( with the other HP and PED PET judge after some deliberations) because this girl was just so SO gorgeous and unusual ! PS -have had to mention her here , since she was a wonderfully intense shade of all that’s autumnal, almost like a cat curled up across a carpet in front of an autumn log fire, her fur almost glowed with warmth - well done indeed to her owner on her show win - especially since was told later that she was a rescue as a one day old abandoned baby and also hand reared, which isn’t an easy task at all, such a special purr-sonage - and a pleasure to see at the Airedale !!

PEDIGREE PETS TABBY ADULT - ANY PATTERN - with/without white

 1st - Bretts PRINCE DAYBREAK

a very very large blue coloured MN tabby age 4 My first impressions were of a wonderfully thick and slightly waved coat, his white ear tufts, and a cute salmon pink nosepad - all set against amazingly intense dark amber eyes ! Well groomed and presented, with a distinct M mark on the forehead - plus a set of gigantic paws - a real pleasure of a pussiecat - presented to perfection - ps most laid back and lazed on the table looking into my eyes - liked him a lot !!
