JERSEY CAT CLUB – 25 APRIL 2009 – BRENDA PEARCE

My grateful thanks to Helen for inviting me to judge in Jersey, and to the Committee for their warm welcome and generous hospitality. A big thank you also åto my steward Sarah Spears for her help, her caring attitude to all the cats we handled, and excellent company throughout the day – thank you Sarah.

OPEN CLASSES

AC ORIENTAL IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER MALE.

IGP w/h, 1 MILLER’S IGP PASHTAN VALLIANT. (37d) 12.3.05.

Oriental Red. A tall and elegant lad of good type. Long wedge head which requires just a little more width to better balance the length. Large ears with width at the base but which he tends to hold slightly tipped forward. Straight profile, needs a bit more chin, acceptable bite. Deep set oriental eyes of pale green – nicely expressive. Long well muscled body, elegant neckline, long slender legs, long whip tail. Well prepared short and sound rich red coat of excellent texture, with tabby markings evident. Delightful temperament and beautifully presented but, for me, not quite an Imperial.

AC SIAMESE/BALINESE GRAND PREMIER MALE.

GP, MILLER’S PR PASHTAN WILLIEWONKA. (32/10) 10.5.05.

Apricot Tabby Point Siamese. Looking extremely relaxed and handsome, better than I have ever seen him actually! Long wedge head, ideally requiring a touch more width to balance the length but his ears are large and very well flared which gives a wider impression. Straight profile, firm chin, level  bite. Bright blue oriental eyes – very expressive. Very long body and neckline – has gained muscle and weight since we met last and it suits him. Stands up very tall on long slim legs. Very long fine whip tail. Tabby markings overall well defined in soft warm apricot. M and single cheek ribbons, shadow leg bars and arm bands, good rings to tail. Lightly shaded warm creamy white body – shows good contrast to his points. Well prepared close lying coat. Delightful temperament, beautifully presented.

RGP w/h, 2 MILLER’S PR PASHTAN DAKOTA. (24b) 6.7.06.

Chocolate Point Siamese. A handsome boy of very good type. Strong balanced wedge head with large wide based ears of excellent set. Near straight profile just a slight rise over the bridge, firm chin, level bite. Vivid blue oriental eyes with lovely expression. Long strong body and legs. Tail rather thick and has a fixed deviation about 1” from the tip. Points dark in tone but well matched on his ears, mask and tail and they do show warmth. Very lightly shaded warm ivory body – contrast excellent, his coat well prepared, short and close lying.  Lovely temperament but his tail fault cost him the reserve award.

ORIENTAL RED NEUTER MALE.

Judged for BOB only and awarded,

MILLER’S IGP PASHTAN VALLIANT. (37d) 12.3.05.

CREAM POINT SIAMESE ADULT MALE.

Judged for BOB only and awarded,

MILLER’S GR CH APRIKAT SONOFMYFATHER. 17.5.06.

He has very good type and a gentle disposition, but what a shame he lets his nerves get the better of him and insists on pretending he’s not really there! Strong balanced wedge head with large wide based ears well set and flared. Straight profile, good chin and bite. Expressive oriental eyes of bright mid blue. Fine boned in type with a long well muscled body, long slim legs and a long fine whip tail. Soft cream points, some shading on his body but the contrast good – his coat a touch long but close lying and of good texture. Presentation and condition both excellent.

TORTIE POINT SIAMESE NEUTER.

PC & BOB, LAFFOLEY’S CATLANTIC BOUDECIA. (32t2) 5.11.07.

Blue Tortie Tabby Point. A very attractive and stylish madam with attitude!! Strong mid length even wedge head with large wide based and very well set ears. Straight profile with a firm chin and acceptable bite. Bright vivid blue oriental eyes with lovely expression. Long well toned body with dainty legs and feet. Long fine whip tail. Tabby markings overall well defined, a touch dark in tone overlaid with lots of tortie breaks in shades of cream. Well mottled ears. M and cheek ribbons to mask, leg bars and bracelets, good tail rings. Body shaded in tone with her points – shows good contrast. Short, close coat beautifully prepared. Excellent presentation.

NON-PEDIGREE.

TORTIE OR TORTIE & WHITE SHORTHAIR NEUTER.

These were three delightful ladies all beautifully prepared for their day out and in excellent condition, I found it very hard to choose a winner, they were all more than worthy.

1 CURTIS & POUNDS’S CINNAMON. FN 1.5.08.

Short Hair Tortie & White. A lovely big girl with very expressive  and sparkling eyes. Beautifully prepared, her coat was thick and plush, of rich autumn colours with patches of bright red, and clean, pure white feet. Full of character – demanded to be placed 1st.

2 NO NAME IN CATALOGUE. FN 15.5.08.

Short Hair Tortie & White. Another big girl, similar to the winner but not quite so outgoing. Again a lovely plush coat and clean bright white legs and feet.

3 HUCKER’S MITZI. FN 3 years.

Short Hair Tortie. A dear girl, quite timid, but very gentle. No white on her but she had the most lovely gleaming coat.
