How long have you been a TICA Judge?
Since 1999.
What made you become interested in becoming a judge?
It seemed the logical step from breeder/exhibitor to Judge and I can also combine my hobby of travelling.
Do you breed cats as well and if so which breed?
I used to breed Siamese, Oriental and Main Coons but I stopped breeding in 2002.
How many cats do you have at home?
Six cats.
If you can give one tip to aspiring new judges what would it be?
To love each and every breed of cat.
Do you have any hobbies outside of Cats Shows?
Music (Opera), fine arts and travelling.
Best Cat Show moment?
When my Maine Coon stud boy Supremed as none of my peers and friends liked him.
Worse Cat Show moment?
Every time I see a Manx Tabby as they remind me so much of losing a much loved pet.
Funniest Cat Show moment?
Too many to mention! TICA is all about fun.
Scariest Cat Show moment?
When I witnessed a cat bite another Judge really hard!
Best part of the Cat Show day?
My finals and when I have a very playful cat that I get a real sense of bonding with while I Judge.
Favourite overseas country to judge in?
Japan, U.K and France.
Favourite cat breed?
Maine Coons and Orientals.
Winter or summer Cat Shows?
Winter.
Any other animals/pets at home?
No.
What part of the judging do you enjoy most?
I love the interacting with the cats.
Can you recall ever loving a cat at a show so much that you wanted to put them in your pocket and take them home?
Yes! I met two very beautiful and playful Bombay and Burmese kittens!
