Kentish Cat Society 17.10.09 Mrs Val Anderson

Thanks to Helen, Sean & Sue for the invite and the excellent hospitality. The new hall appeared to be a success and the lunch was excellent. Thanks to Georgina Anderson-Keeble for stewarding. Georgina is very enthusiastic and keen to learn and I enjoyed our day together.

OPEN CLASSES

MAINE COON BROWN/BLUE TABBY (INC BI-COLOUR) KITTEN

1ST & BOB GILLMAN’S MABALAKAT ROTHKO (64 41w) M 23.02.09

Brown Tabby & White A strong well-grown boy of 7½ months shown in excellent condition. Balanced head, strong & masculine with good breadth and slightly longer than wide. Uniform width to the nose and square muzzle. High cheek bones & fairly full cheeks. Shallow concave curve to the profile & deep chin though it rounds of very slightly at the tip, level bite. Large tall ears with a broad base & tapering with inner feathering and lovely tufts. His ears are set well apart but could be fraction higher especially as he is only young. Large eyes, full & round in a slightly oblique aperture & set. Lovely rectangular body shape with strong substantial limbs and large feet with tufted toes. Long tail that is well-furnished if a little bushy. Well-prepared coat with a silky texture & increasing in length down the body. Classic tabby pattern though a little solid down the spine. Black markings on a pale copper base with a richer colour on the neck & shoulders. Good head markings with a tabby “M” on his forehead, rings on the underside of his tail. White on his feet, chest, tummy and face. A gentle boy who was easy to handle & a pleasure to judge. He went on to become Best SLH Exhibit – Congratulations to his owner and breeder!

BROWN SPOTTED BENGAL ADULT, MALE

1ST CC & BOB ALGER-STREET’S TYPHAST GREATBALLSOFIRE (76 30) M 02.03.06

A mature boy of 3 years with a lovely feel to his coat and shown in excellent condition. Broad masculine head of medium length & slightly longer than wide with rounded contours, pronounced jowls. Large nose, broad muzzle and pronounced whisker pads. Shallow curve to the profile, deep rounded chin and level bite. Large slightly puffed nose leather. Medium ears with a broad base & set wide apart. Large almost round eyes of a lovely bright green colour. Long sleek & muscular body with limbs to balance. Medium length tail of good thickness but with a rather bony tip. Soft dense & luxurious coat of a lovely warm overall colour with lots of gold dusting & clearly spotted with large rosetted spots on a rich golden base. Good head markings, spotted tummy, well-marked limbs and ringed tail with a dark tip. Super temperament & very easy to handle.

2ND STRYDEM & GARCIA’S WILDSIDEBENGALS SHAKA (76 30) M 29.08.07

A mature boy of 2 years with a broad masculine head of medium length with rounded contours. Large nose, broad muzzle and pronounced whisker pads. Shallow concave curve to the profile, level bite and shallow chin. Small ears set wide apart and green eyes of oval shape set on a slight slant. Long muscular body with limbs to balance and moderately long tail. Soft coat but is a little sleek, it could be denser & more luxurious. Lovely clear coat pattern of large rosetted spots on a golden base with a warm overall colour and lots of gold dusting. Well-marked chest, barred limbs, spotted tummy & ringed tail with a dark tip. He was a little reserved but with a gentle nature.

1ST & BOB RAVENSCROFT’S GOLUBOI RAISA (16a) F 09.06.09

A baby kitten of only 4 months, of a good weight for her size but she has a lot of developing yet to do. Short wedge but her skull is still a little rounded. Rounded forehead at present with an almost straight profile. Her chin could be stronger & her bite is slightly scissor but her teeth are changing at present. Prominent whisker pads but I would prefer a little broader muzzle. Large ears set vertically to the head. Wide set eyes that could be a little larger and are a touch rounded, the colour changing but of a good green already. Longish body with elegant limbs and quite long, tapering tail showing a few faint rings. Dense coat that is a little long and showing banding at present, medium blue with the silvery sheen developing nicely. A gentle girl though a little scared and so not showing to her best advantage.

2ND COE’S ADNIOSH EVELINA (16a) F 11.02.09

An elegant well-grown girl of 8 months but unfortunately her head is too long & narrow and she doesn’t have the Russian look. Long wedge with prominent whisker pads. Rounded brow, the angle is yet to develop, acceptable chin and level bite. Large tall ears but they could be more pointed. Good green eye colour developing but she has an oriental look to her eyes. Long elegant & muscular body with long limbs & oval paws. Long tail but it is rather thick at the base. Double, reasonably plushy coat of an even blue colour with good colour at the roots plus a silvery sheen. Shown in lovely condition and easy to handle.

1ST DEACON’S PR GLEDEKATT FENJA (67 31t) FN

A pretty brown tabby & white girl of 3 years who had been beautifully prepared. Triangular head with all sides equal and almost straight profile. Large ears with a broad base, small tufts and inner furnishing; set high & open. Large expressive eyes of pale green, well-opened & of oval shape in an oblique setting. Elegant body carried high on long substantial limbs with large rounded feet and tufted toes. Double coat with a dense woolly undercoat and well-developed topcoat with lots of long guard hairs. Bushy tail of a good length. A stylish girl with lots of presence.

2ND DEACON’S GR PR GLEDEKATT BRUNI (67 20) MN

A large well-grown boy of 3 years and litter brother to Fenja. Triangular head very slightly longer than wide and almost straight profile. Large ears with a broad base & tufts & large eyes of oval shape in an oblique setting. Long body with strong bone development with substantial limbs with large tufted feet & long bushy tail. Good length to the coat with a ruff & shirt front. Coat double with a woolly undercoat but the topcoat is still developing.

1ST WICKS’S GR CH SEREKH CLEOPATRA (78 30s) F

Egyptian Mau A well-fed mature girl of nearly 3 years. Typical Mau look with a worried expression, head a slightly rounded wedge of medium length with a rounded muzzle that flows into the contours of her head. Good profile & level bite but her chin rounds off a little. Medium ears set wide apart and straight-set eyes of a lovely gooseberry green colour. Elegant body of a good weight for her size with limbs to balance and tapering tail of medium length. Dense coat of medium length with a distinct spotted pattern on a silvery-white agouti base. A gentle girl with a sweet nature and shown in lovely condition.

2ND CHERKAS’S CH JUSARKA THAI LILAC PROMISE (34) F

Korat A sweet girl with a lovely Korat look, she is a little on the small side but perfectly formed. Heart-shaped head with good width between & across the eyes. Slight stop in profile plus a small nose bump. Well-set ears and large wide-open green eyes. Semi-cobby body with elegant limbs and medium length tail. Short fine & close-lying coat of an even blue colour. Well-developed silver tipping on the limbs but if could be more developed on the body.

Chocolate Ocicat A well-grown girl of nearly 3 years with a lovely coat & typical wild look. Head longer than it is wide with a moderate whisker pinch & squarish muzzle that is longer in profile than it is wide. Slight dip in profile, shallow chin and level bite. Well-set moderately large ears and large expressive eyes of rounded almond shape & set wide apart and on a slant. Good depth of colour to her greeny-coloured eyes. Elegant body, long & muscular with an athletic appearance. Muscular limbs to balance with oval paws & fairly long tail with a broad base. Short fine & close-lying coat & clearly spotted with large distinct chocolate spots on a pale copper agouti base & warm overall colour. Good head markings, spotted tummy, bracelets on the limbs and banded tail with a dark chocolate tip. Shown in lovely condition.

2ND DAVIS’S CH OITAMONSOON AMELIA (78 30s) F

Egyptian Mau A very pretty girl shown in lovely condition. Head a slightly rounded wedge of medium length with a good profile & chin, level bite. Almost parallel nose. Well-set ears and large straight-set eyes of a pale green colour. Muscular body of medium length & of a good weight for her size with elegant limbs and tapering tail of medium length. Dense coat, a fraction long but clearly spotted with small black spots on a silvery white agouti base. Super condition and temperament.

Cornish Rex An elegant & well-grown black smoke & white boy of not quite 7 months with a lovely coat. Head a medium wedge narrowing to a rounded muzzle with a slight whisker pinch at present and an almost straight profile. Large ears with a broad base & rounded tips; set rather high. Oval eyes of medium size & set on a slight slant. Muscular body of medium length carried high on elegant limbs and long fine tail. Coat short dense & silken, plushy on the shoulders but rexing developing well on the body. Super crinkly whiskers & eyebrows. Interesting colour pattern with a black moustache & white tip to the tail. Shown in lovely condition, a gentle lad though preferring to sleep in his pen when we reached him.

2ND HUTCHINSON’S KIMANI RAST OF IRREP (72) M

Bombay A very well-grown boy of 7 months. Nice head, a reasonably short, blunt wedge with a good break in profile though his nose is a fraction long. Level bite. Well-set ears and expressive gold eyes. Strong & muscular body of medium build with elegant limbs and huge feet, I think he is going to be a large lad! Tapering tail to balance. Super coat, short fine & close-lying and jet black with a glossy sheen. Super temperament and shown in excellent condition.

Egyptian Mau A familiar silver spotted boy of 2 years, strong & muscular and with lovely type. Head a slightly rounded wedge of medium length with a typical worried expression. Uniform width to the nose & acceptable chin. Well-set ears and straight-set eyes of a good gooseberry green colour. Well-grown muscular body of medium length with limbs & tail to balance. Close-lying coat with a distinct spotted pattern on a silvery-white agouti base. Shown in lovely condition.

2ND EK’S KARESAMA SILVER SEAMERCURY (72 43nsq)

Caramel Silver Burmilla A strong well-grown boy of not quite 2 years. Good head, a short balanced wedge with a blunt muzzle & good nose break in profile. Well-set ears and large eyes set wide apart. Muscular body of medium length with a hard feel & limbs and tail to balance. Close-lying fine coat with dark caramel shading on a silvery-white base. He had a bit of a grumble but wasn’t difficult to handle.

1ST YOUNG’S PR SASHOVA SIYKATERENKA (16a) FN

Russian Blue A mature girl of 5 years with lovely type & typical Russian expression. Flat skull & short wedge with prominent whisker pads. Large vertically-set ears and expressive green eyes of almond shape. Elegant & muscular body with limbs to balance and long tapering tail. Soft fine & dense coat, double & plushy. Even blue colour apart from a slightly darker spine line and well-developed silvery sheen. Shown in excellent condition. My choice for BIS Foreign Neuter and she later went on to win Best Foreign Exhibit. Congratulations to her proud owner!

2ND GREENSLADE’S PR WEESAMS SNOFRU (78 36) FN

Egyptian Mau A well-grown strong & muscular young girl of 1½ years. Obviously a smoke but with a good spotted pattern. Head a slightly rounded wedge of medium length with a worried expression. Uniform width to the nose & slight dip in profile. Well-set ears of medium size & straight-set green eyes. Strong body of medium length with limbs & tail to balance. Silky coat texture but her coat was a little open and could be more close-lying. Gentle nature.

1ST GRETTON’S THICKTHORN PINTO (73 41) MN

Tawny Ocicat Classic A young boy of only 10 months with a beautiful coat. Lovely type, his head is longer than wide with a slight curve from muzzle to cheek, moderate whisker pinch and squarish muzzle that is longer than it is wide. Slight dip to the profile, his chin could be stronger but level bite. Moderately large ears with a broad base & rounded tips and set at a 45° angle. Large expressive eyes of almond shape set wide apart and on a slant. Well-grown elegant & muscular body of a good weight for his size with limbs & tail to balance, oval paws. Satiny coat, short dense & close-lying with a super feel to the touch & lustrous sheen. Lovely distinct pattern & warm overall colour with black markings on a rich tawny base. Butterfly & oyster markings on the body, his shoulder markings could be more distinct but lovely clear markings on his hindquarters. Good head markings, creamy-coloured chin which extends down to his chest with necklaces below. Spotted tummy & ringed tail with a black tip. Shown in excellent condition, a lively boy with a superb temperament and a pleasure to judge!

2ND RAVENSCOFT’S GOLUBOI ELANEC (16a) FN

Russian Blue A mature girl of 7 years though she looks much younger. Very elegant and with a sweet nature. Head with a flat skull & short wedge & prominent whisker pads. Well-set ears but they could be a little bigger & large green eyes of almond shape. Long elegant body with long limbs & tail to balance. Plushy double coat but it could be a little softer. Even blue colour with a well-developed silvery sheen. Shown in lovely condition.

1ST WELL’S PR CRYSTALTIPS GUY PIPPIN (23) MN

Usual Abyssinian A strong muscular fellow of nearly 6 years who was reluctant to come out of his pen. Head a moderate wedge with rounded contours and good width between the ears. Well-set cupped ears and large expressive eyes. Muscular body of medium length & build with elegant limbs and a tapering tail. Lovely coat, short fine & close-lying and clearly ticked with black on an apricot base and rich overall colour. A gentle lad shown in lovely condition.

2ND HENDRA’S PR CZARKUSHKA BOSATAMAHON (16a) MN

Russian Blue A large cuddly boy approaching his 9th birthday. Mature masculine head with a flat skull, short wedge and prominent whisker pads. Large vertically-set ears and almond-shaped eyes of a yellowy-green colour. Long heavy body with elegant limbs and long tapering tail. Double coat of an even blue colour but it is a little harsh to the touch. Excellent temperament and very easy to judge though whilst the Aby boy didn’t want to come out of his pen this Russian lad didn’t want to go back in!
