Show report for Kentish Cat Society Show held on 18/10/2008

Many thanks to Helen, Sean and Sue for the invitation to judge and congratulations on a successful day; thank you to the club for its hospitality. It was a real pleasure to have my friend and fellow judge Ann-Marie Heath steward for me - thank you again.

AC BURMESE IMP GR.PR MALE

IMP GR PR ELLIS’IMP GR PR MAINMAN APOLLO,

chocolate, heavy, muscular lad, well proportioned, and with balancing tail of good shape, lovely sleek coat of warm pale tone, not quite sound to the roots; head has short blunt wedge, with excellent break in the profile, and nicely rounded brow, excellent width to top of head and deep level chin, well shaped ears with good width between, eyes are pale yellow, and have correct obliquely set upper line and rounded lower lid, giving typical expression.

RES BUIST’S GR PR ADMEWBU BILBO BAGGINS,

brown; excellent firm muscular body and limbs, tail slightly thick, lovely sleek coat of even colour, nice width to top of head, and well shaped and set ears, deep level chin, inclined to puff out his whisker pads, making his muzzle appear slightly square in shape, nicely shaped eyes are pale yellow in colour and with a slight green pupil rim.

FEMALE IMP GR PR

CROW & GOSS’S GR PR KAGURA GLORIANA,

 brown , chunky, muscular fell, well proportioned, limbs, coat just a little open, but of fine texture, clear, balancing tail, head ultra short, with deep, level chin, some teeth missing now, strong profile break, good width to top of head, and well shaped and placed ears, just a tine bump over nose, yellow eyes with lovely expression.

CHOCOLATE BURMESE ADULT, FEMALE

1 CC BEIRNE’S MINAHTO CHOCOLATE CARDAMOM,

slightly immature feel to this girl, lightly made, but muscular (perhaps has been calling,) sleek fine coat of warm pale colour, clear, head has a nice short blunt wedge, good width to top of head, with nicely placed ears of balancing size, pale golden yellow eyes, nice oblique top line when relaxed giving typical expression.

CREAM BURMESE KITTEN.

1 BOB HENRY’S ADATEBU NICA’S DREAM, female;

nice firm, muscular feel, with elegant limbs and oval paws, very sleek fine texture to coat for such a young kitten, with desired powdery effect, head has a medium wedge, level bite and chin, well shaped and set ears, with good width to top of head, eyes are golden yellow, would prefer that they were slightly larger in size and had more obliquely set upper lid.

ASIAN (TIFFANIE) ADULT

 1 CC W/H BERN’S NEMOREZ LEPETITELALIQUE;

rather small and completely lacking in substance, although muscular and in otherwise good condition, with well proportioned body, limbs and tail, coat has silky feel, blue tortie with smoke evident at roots, head has a short blunt wedge, with rather prominent whisker pads, overshot scissor bite (confirmed by duty vet,) head has a short blunt wedge, well placed and set ears, rounded brow and good profile break. Rather dubious temperament.

 BOB CROW & GOSS’S CH KAGURA SAPHIRA,

blue ticked tabby; lovely strong muscular feel to this nice girl, with well proportioned body, elegant limbs and proportionate well furnished tail, coat is of fine texture, and lying nicely over back and with soft silky texture, blue ticked with pale creamy beige, nice ruff, head has short blunt wedge, deep chin and level bite, good width to top of head, rather prominent whisker pads, well shaped and placed ears have streamers, pale yellow eyes of good shape and set when relaxed .

JAMES’ CH HURTLEPUSS ZOE FILANDRE,

tortie tabby; muscular girl, proportionate body, limbs and tail, coat is of nice silky texture, flowing nicely in tones of red and brown, with some ruff, head has short blunt wedge, level chin and bite, good width to top of head, good shape well furnished ears of correct set, nice eye shape when relaxed.

ASIAN SELF OR TORTIE (INC BOMBAY) NEUTER.

1 PR BOB CLARK’S GR CH & IMP GR PR CHINKARA JET BLACK ,

Bombay; what a lovely big strong muscular lad, of excellent proportions, firm heavy body, elegant limbs and paws, tail of balancing length, coat of superb sleek fine texture, close lying, head has an excellent short blunt wedge, excellent ear shape and placement, level chin and bite, expressive golden eyes have correct rounded lower line and obliquely set upper lid, giving typical expression; lovely lad.

 CORNISH REX, DEVON REX, LAPERM OR SPHYNX ADULT

1 BOUCHER’S SUP UK & IMP GR CH GRIZABELLA OHBLADIOHBLADA, black smoke Devon Rex, 5/2/03,

a lovely girl, strong and muscular, but elegant, with a firm body and fine tail, strong but elegant limbs and dainty oval paws, well covered in deeply waved black smoke coat throughout, head has a short broad wedge with high cheekbones, excellent width to top of head with large ears, set wide on the head, which show tufts, excellent whisker break, short nose with stop, brow curves back to flat brow, eyes are oval, with oblique upper line, giving typical expression.

 2 TANNER’S JONSCOTT POSH ENYA, smoke Devon Rex, 17/12/07;

another nice, well proportioned girl, with muscular body, slim limbs and fine tail, body well covered in nicely waved coat, except for an area around the neck where it is rather flat, ears are fairly large and wide at base, set wide apart, short nose with fair stop, brow curves back to flat skull, whisker break only minimal, pale green eyes are of correct oval shape, and slightly oblique set.

3 ADRAIN-GROVES’ AMAROGUE SHALYMAR, Sphynx.
4 THOMPSON’S UK GR CH CHRISAN CORDELIA, 33 40 1w; Cornish Rex, 25/3/2000,

nice elegant lad, stands tall on slim legs, neat oval paws, balancing long tapering tail, coat is silky in texture and of even length over the body, with well defined waves throughout, head has a relatively long wedge, with the muzzle appearing too long in proportion to the upper part of the head, and ears, although correctly placed on the head, are held rather “closed” thus spoiling the overall balance. Correct profile, with level chin and bite, gentle curve at brow leading in a straight line to tip of nose, deep level chin and bite, wide awake oval eyes with correct slant towards the ear.

 AV FOREIGN KITTEN 1 PENFORD’S KWANSAN NUTIKITINALA,

Singapura; of moderate build, firm and muscular feel, well proportioned body, elegant limbs and proportionate tapered tail, coat is of fine texture, some smudgy vestigial barring on knees, several bands of quite deeply coloured ticking visible over body, head has medium wedge, with short blunt muzzle, and slight stop, chin and bite level, quite large cupped ears are held correctly, green eyes are oval in shape.

2 FEREDAY’S YASSASSIN VENUS IN FURS, Devon Rex, 5/4/2008,

excellent firm, muscular body, long fine tail, slim legs and small oval paws, body well covered in soft dense wavy coat, short head lacks width at top, has a good stop in profile but very little whisker break, head needs more width between the ears, which are of good size but held rather too upright, green eyes are oval in shape and obliquely set, but slightly small in size.

CORNISH REX, DEVON REX, LAPERM OR SPHYNX ADULT

1 HANOMAN’S INFURNO CAN-CANDANCER,

Sphynx; nice type, well proportioned elegant body and slim legs, fine tail, fine peach-skin feel to body, head shows slight angle to rounded brow, with large ears set at slight angle, lustrous lemon shaped eyes. AC BURMESE NON-BREEDERS ADULT MALE 1 BRININGER’S PREFERE VERISMO, brown; a young male, good type body, limbs and tail, muscular but adolescent feel, coat clear, head has medium length wedge, level bite and chin, prefer more width to top of head, ears well shaped and set, pale yellow eyes of good shape and set.

AC BURMESE NON-BREEDERS ADULT FEMALE;

1 MACOY’S MCMESE PRINCESS ANASTASIA,

brown; a big strong muscular, well-proportioned girl, with the most wonderful coat quality, sleek, fine, and of a beautiful warm tone; head has medium length wedge, ears follow line of upper head, level chin and bite, good profile break but end of nose rolls off, eyes are of wonderful golden colour, but I would prefer them to be larger. Although she is not without faults, she has many good qualities.

2 WEAL’S ROSSIKHAN ESSEXGIRL,

lilac; nice girl with well balanced body, limbs and tail, coat of excellent texture but rather bluish in tone, medium length head, needs a little more width to the top of the head and wider ear-set, yellowy eyes of good size, but rather round in shape.

AC BURMESE SENIOR ADULT

1 SNEESBY’S GR CH KATOME BETHANY BROWN,

brown, very short head, chunky body, balancing tail is a little thick in shape, coat is sleek and fine, and of a nice warm tone, clear, head shows good width to top and well shaped and spaced ears, level chin, rounded brow, good profile break, eyes of excellent shape, set and expression.

2 WOODLEY’S HONPUSS CARELESS WHISPA,

blue tortie, nice sleek clear coat, head is short, with blunt wedge, good break in profile and rounded brow, level bite and deep chin, good width to top of head with well shaped and set ears, eyes are just a little round is shape, yellow with slight green pupil rim.

3 MOONEY & REID’S GR CH MAINMAN KISSCHASE.

BROWN OR BLUE BURMESE KITTEN;

1 WYATT’S TYPHA HARMONY,

blue female; excellent type girl, firm and elegant, well proportioned body and limbs, tail of good shape and length, coat is silvery, sleek and close lying, head has nice unexaggerated wedge, deep level chin, even bite, good width between well sized ears of correct set, expressive golden eyes of excellent shape and size.

2 TAYLOR’S ZIGON SARABANDE,

blue female; well proportioned girl, silvery, sleek coat, medium length head has level chin, head slightly narrow at jaw hinge, well shaped ears , prefer more break in profile, eyes are a lovely golden colour, but rather small in size.

AC BURMESE KITTEN OVER 6 MONTH OLD - part I

1 WYATT’S TYPHA HARMONY.
2 ALGER-STREET’S TYPHA FIREFLY,

lilac female; a cuddly kitten, muscular and well-grown, tail rather short for balance, coat is soft and clear, a nice pinkish tone, head is short,with good break in profile, deep, level chin, nice width between well shaped and set ears, golden eyes of good shape, set and size.

AC BURMESE KITTEN OVER 6 MONTHS OLD - part II

1 FORTESQUE’S BLOOMERS BELCHAMP’S BARON,

 red male; what a beautiful youngster; lovely type, muscular and heavy for his size feel, sleek clear coat of mature feel, clear and vibrant tone of red, short head with rounded brow and top of head, between well placed ears, level bite and chin, good profile break and level chin, super eyes of lovely golden colour and correct shape and size.

 2 BRININGER’S KARRIEWHITCHIT OLIVERIA,

 lilac; another nice kitten, correct pinkish caste to sleek coat, well proportioned muscular body and limbs, tail slightly short to balance, head has medium length wedge with good width to top, between well placed ears of proportionate size, level chin, good profile break, again, lovely eye shape and wonderful golden colour.

3 PEED’S FERARA TERALINA.

1 SIMPSON’S PAPAGENA XANDER,

 chocolate; lovely chunky feel to this nice well proportioned boy, muscular feel, matching tail of good shape, coat is a lovely pale warm tone of chocolate, sleek in texture, nice well balanced head with good nose break, level chin and bite, well shaped and set ears, good break in profile, lovely eyes of golden colour, and very typical expression; lovely lad.

2 ROBERTSHAW’S KYMIAN SHAMU,

blue; nice lad overall, with well balanced body, limbs and tail, coat is slightly thick in texture, but of a nice colour, with silvery extremities, head is of medium length, with a good nose break but brow is slightly flat, excellent ear shape and set, with nice top of head, pale yellow eyes of good shape and set.
