LONDON CAT CLUB SHOW

SATURDAY 13TH JUNE 2009

JUDGE: Charis White

Many thanks to Sandie Holloway who was my steward for the day – and an excellent one too! I always enjoy my days with good people like Sandie, and she handles the cats with real care and respect. Thanks again for your company, Sandie. It’s always a pleasure to meet up with you.

BRITISH LILAC ADULT MALE

CC, BOB – WELLS’ CATBALU WESTENBACH HUDSON 10/04/08

Compact medium-framed male with fairly good weight – he is only young as yet. Round head has fairly full cheeks but narrows to a pointed muzzle, adding to his youthful appearance. Ears are a little open but well spaced. Round pale orange eyes. Broad nose, level bite and fairly firm chin. His coat is dense but a little long. The medium lilac shade is even throughout and fairly sound – just showing some slight summer fawning. Tail of good length but it looks ‘thin’ – over grooming perhaps?

2ND - BEESLY’S HAVENHOUSE SHAMROCK 20/06/08

Quite small framed but reasonably cobby male with balance to legs and paws. Round head with rather large ears for head shape at present. Pleasing expression and look to his face, the round gold eyes still have a hint of a green rim – he may not lose this. Good full cheeks. Broad nose and level bite, firm chin. The coat is dense and crisp but too long, and the dark shade of lilac is very unsound and showing some traces of scurf. Balanced tail. Sweet temperament.

BRITISH BLACK SILVER SPOTTED ADULT

BOB - COULTHURST’S CH ESSYLT CAMEO-CELESTE – female

AOC SPOTTED ADULT, FEMALE

CC, BOB – WELLS’ WESTENBACH DONNYBROOK – Chocolate Spotted 21/05/08

A very attractive cat with good cobby balanced body of good depth and breadth. Well boned legs and rounded paws. Broad full head with good cheeks. Ears are well set. Large round gold eyes. Good profile and level bite. Her coat is just a fraction long but very dense and the texture is good. The ground is a lovely warm-toned bronze to the roots and the pattern is rich chocolate. She has very pleasing facial markings and the lines run from the ‘M’ on her forehead over the back of her head to her shoulders where the lines have broken well into spots. She has bars and stripes on her face and plenty of necklaces, some broken. On her body, the spots are clear and well defined – very minimal linkage of a few spots in places. Good spotty tummy and barring to legs. Very thick tail with rounded tip, ringed and tipped with chocolate.

AC BRITISH OR MANX GRAND PREMIER, MALE

GPC – BARDSLEY’S PR TUFTON RED SOX – Red Silver Spotted 30/03/08

Compact medium framed male – he is still filling out in the body but he has good depth and weight and stands on sturdy legs with round paws. Medium length tail with rounded tip, neat round head with super deep copper round eyes. Ears are a fraction open at the bases, but well set. Broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Dense crisp coat is fairly short, the colour pale silvery cream contrasting with the red pattern. He has good spots evident across the body and very little linkage. ‘M’ on his forehead with lines running over his shoulders to where they break down the spine. Necklaces are evident and he has leg bars. Good spotted tummy and several rings on his tail.

RES. GPC – IVES’ PR WELLMAR BOAZ – Blue Spotted 31/05/07

Very large well grown male with a long deep body and good bone to legs and paws. Fairly broad round head but he is not yet fully mature and the cheeks are still filling out and his muzzle just shows a slight pinch. Ears are a fraction upright but have good width between. Large round hazel eyes. Good profile, level bite and firm chin. crisp dense fairly short coat just lies a fraction flat. The ground colour is bluish fawn – just paler around his muzzle -and he actually has fairly good contrast with the mid blue pattern. He has good facial markings and necklaces. Some slight shading on his shoulders. On his body the spots are confined to the centre sides, with a lot of linkage from his shoulders back and from his flanks to his thighs – but at least you can see them! Spots on his tummy and barring on his legs. Well ringed tail of good length ends with a blue tip.

HAVANA ADULT MALE

1ST, CC – SHAFTO’S HUBBELL HUBA HUBA 26/04/08

Long elegant muscular body balanced by a long whip tail. He stands well on slender legs with neat oval paws. Medium wedge with large, well set ears. Green eyes of Oriental shape – I couldn’t decide if he had a slight squint or not – if he did it was not fixed. Slight dip to nose in profile, level untidy bite, chin could be a little firmer. Short, fairly fine coat lies close to the body. The colour is even and fairly sound – quite a dark rich chestnut brown, could be a little warmer.

FEMALE 1ST, CC, BOB – SHARP-POPPLE’S DENSON LOUISIANA 31/08/07

Medium framed muscular female stands on long slim legs and oval paws. Long tapered tail balances. Medium wedge with large ears – they could just be a little wider set for perfection. Green eyes are Oriental in shape and slant towards her nose, which is fairly straight in profile. Level bite and firm chin. Good fine short coat lies close to her body, the colour is rich warm chestnut brown. The colour is sound – just shows a few ghost markings on her body in the light in certain angles.

ORIENTAL BLUE ADULT, FEMALE

CC, BOB – SAXON’S CH TIJANMEEK MERCEDES 19/04/07

Long muscular body – the tapered tail is a little short for balance. Long slim legs end in oval paws. Wedge is slightly narrow but the large ears follow the lines – it would be preferable if the wedge was a bit wider and they were wider set to follow. Oriental shaped green eyes. Nose has a bump un profile. Level bite and firm chin. Short fine coat of medium, fairly sound blue.

ORIENTAL FAWN ADULT, FEMALE

CC, BOB – GREATOREX’ MEWZISHUN EPHORN 21/06/08

Well grown elegant female with a long muscular body, good legs and paws. Medium wedge could be a little wider, held on an elegant neck. Ears are wide at the bases and follow the lines. Good green eyes, slanting towards her nose, they are Oriental in shape. Nice profile, level bite and chin lines up. Short fine coat, lying close to her body, of sound, fairly rosy mushroom. Long tapered tail.

ORIENTAL SHADED ADULT, MALE

1ST, CC Withheld – CONNELLY’S LUNATORA ARAMIS - Black Silver Shaded 16/05/08

Medium framed muscular male with a long tail, which tapers at the tip. Medium wedge is held on a slender neck. Ears are wide at the bases but could be wider set. Green eyes slant towards his nose and are Oriental in shape. Fairly straight profile, level bite, chin steps back a fraction. Short fine coat lies close to his body. There is reasonable black shading but in places it extends towards the roots, detracting from the clear silver under-colour. He also has extensive tarnishing on his face, chin, chest and on the legs. It is a shame as it detracts from the colour quite dramatically, and it was my reason for withholding the award. He has some acceptable tabby markings on his head and legs.

ORIENTAL BICOLOUR KITTEN MALE

1ST, BOB – MIDSON’S MIYOKO SUPER-TROOPER – Shorthair Chocolate Silver Shaded and White 21/11/08

Lovely type to this boy – he has an elegant body and long slim legs with oval paws. Good muscle tone developing. Long tapered tail balances. Super wedge with large ears, wide at the bases, set to follow the lines. Good Oriental shape to green eyes which slant towards his nose. Straight profile, level bite and firm chin. Short fine coat lies close to his body. He is mostly white with coloured patches on his head, where they show tabby markings, and a coloured tail with a white tip. He has some colour patches with tabby markings on his legs – running up his front left leg from ankle to elbow, and on his right front leg. The chocolate shading colour is still settling and is quite dark in shade. At present colour extends quite a long way down the hair shafts into the paler chocolate silver under-colour.

FEMALE 1ST – WHISTON’S MIYOKO CHIQUITITA - Shorthair Chocolate Silver Shaded and White 21/11/08

Litter sister to the above and she also has good type with a lovely balanced frame, which stands on long slim legs, and oval paws with a long tapered tail to balance. She has a nice triangular shape to her head, with large ears widely spaced and following the lines. Oriental shaped green eyes slant towards her nose. Straight profile, level bite and firm chin. Short fine coat, well prepared, lies close to her body. She has over one-third white areas in proportion to the colour. There is a small white patch on top of her head and white on the back of her left ear. A small patch on her nose, between her eyes, joins up with white under her eyes and then extends down either side of her muzzle, round under her chin to her throat and chest. It then extends fully to her abdomen. She has a wide full white collar with a colour patch in it. The white on her abdomen creeps up her left shoulder and her left thigh. She has some white patching on her back. She also has white extending from her lower tummy on her right side up her back, ending just above the base of her tail. She has white on all four legs and paws, with colour patches on the fronts and colour extending up the backs of her hocks and back legs. The chocolate colour is quite a dark colour – more bitter chocolate, but not cold. At present, the colour and chocolate silver under-colour are quite muddled, more banded than shaded as there is no clear even under-colour, and in places, colour is evident close to the roots. There are some acceptable tabby markings evident at the moment. Two nice kittens.

HAVANA NEUTER

BOB – BRIGHT’S GR PR MIDAMYST SPARKLEMAKER – Male

FOREIGN WHITE NEUTER

BOB – JANICKI’S UK & IMP GR PR THAIRANO TILLERMAN – MALE

Lovely to see him again!

ORIENTAL CREAM OR APRICOT NEUTER

PC, BOB – SMITH’S GR PR MOUSTACHES FENTON FAUVE – Apricot male 22/06/99

Bless his heart – in lovely condition for a few days away from his tenth birthday! Sweet boy, large and muscular framed with long legs and oval paws. Tapered tail balanced. Triangular wedge is held on a fairly slender neck – his ears just look a little small for balance but are well set. He still has lovely green eyes, of good shape, and an excellent set of teeth! Good profile and firm chin. His coat is slightly dense for perfection but at his age, it is allowed. The colour is an intense slightly dark toned apricot. It is even in colour and sound to the roots. Lovely condition for his age.

ORIENTAL CARAMEL NEUTER, MALE

IC, BOB – SMITH’S MOUSTACHES CARAMELLE TWIST 13/09/03

Large muscular boy standing on long slim legs with oval paws. Long tapered tail balances to his body. Good wedge held on elegant neck with triangular shape to head, topped by large ears, wide at the bases. Lovely green eyes of good shape and set. Good profile and level bite. Chin lines up in profile. AV BRITISH SELF ADULT

1ST - DENNY’S GR CH CHESLO EASTON CASPER – Black male 25/06/07

He really is a super cat – great type and quality, showing what a proper British cat is all about. Excellent maturity for his age, and a worthy winner of all his awards. Lovely to handle.

2ND - KRAUSE’S GR CH ADFURSH BLUE TYCHO – Blue male 02/04/04

A good looking cat with super British head – lovely full cheeks and neat ears. Good expression. Short dense coat just shows some paleness at the roots and a bit of shading across the surface. Slightly short tail.

3RD - DAY’S FELESAMOR BLUE VELVET – Blue female

AV BRITISH DEBUTANTE ADULT

1ST - WELLS’ MYLLBANK JEFFERY – Black Tipped male 07/06/08

2ND - MARSLAND-ROUND’S CATBALU DELIGHTFUL – Chocolate female 25/08/08

Just an adult and she rather lacks type at the moment. Her head narrows to a square muzzle and she has a hint of a green rim to her eyes. He coat is fairly dense, and reasonable length but the rich chocolate colour pales at the roots and she is showing some ghost tabby markings.
