THE MAINE COON CAT CLUB – 27^TH JUNE, 2009.

MRS. PAT PERKINS – SHOW REPORT

My thanks to Daphne, David and all the hardworking team for a happy and well run show, the comfort of the cats was paramount and despite the heat all seem to go very well. The standard of the exhibits was as usual very high and it was a pleasure to judge such lovely cats and kittens. Special thanks to Pat Parrish for again stewarding for me, she handles the cats with love and care, and is an excellent steward.

IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION – FEMALE

IMP. WHITMARSHS GR. CH. NORACOON MOLEPOLOLE – (1.5.07)

Tortie Silver Tabby & White, super lady in excellent show condition, full glossy flowing coat with good undercoat, frontal ruff, shaggy trousers and tummy, tail long reaching her neck, showing soft tortie colours and visible rings, tabby markings to head, spectacles round eyes, rings to legs, shades of tortie to body and head, tabby markings showing on body. strong mature head, high ears, wide at base, long tips, broad nose with a gentle curve, bright oblique set hazel eyes, square muzzle. Length to well developed body, strong high legs, large feet with undertufts – a quality lass with a gentle temperament.

SILVER TABBY SERIES WITH WHITE NEUTER – MALE

Quality boys all 4 worthy of a certificate

BOB MAYNARDS PR. DOTCOM MONZA – (20.7.04)

Blue Silver Tabby & White, substantial mature boy with length to body, strong legs and big paws. Masculine head with broad nose, high well furnished ears, square muzzle, tail long to shoulders flowing and showing rings – laid back lad.

1^ST. & PC WILKINSONS COONTASTIC EDUARDO – (29.4.08)

Classic silver Tabby & White already has the bone and substance, long muscular body, tree trunk high legs and big tufted feet. Broad skull, nose wide with concave curve, large not quite round eyes obliquely set, strength to muzzle. Ears set high wide at base, tipped and feathered. Thick soft coat showing classic tabby markings to head and sides, rings to legs, tail long with tabby rings – super temperament on this lad.

2^ND. JONES COONFLAKES QUANTUMOFSOLACE – (17.9.08)

Red Silver Tabby & White, only 9 month but already has length to well proportioned body and high legs, large tufted feet. Head just need a little more width, but super high ear set, long tips and furnishings, bright oblique set hazel eyes, curve to broad nose, firm chin, muzzle square. Lovely coat showing dark rich red classic tabby markings on a silvery red ground, M to head, eye lines, rings to legs, necklaces, back still a touch solid, white to paws, chest and tummy, long ringed tail to shoulders – quality youngster.

3^rd. CANNELLS MABALAKAT WOOFMAN JACK – (10.1.08)

Very shy Silver Classic Tabby & White, soft thick coat, pristine white to legs, chest tummy and back, good clear markings to head, back rather diffused as yet. Broad head with large ears, very long tips, he did keep them flared, broad nose, gentle curve, bright greenish eyes, chin needs to strengthen but he has lots of time. Very full long tail to neck – gentle promising lad.

RED TABBY SERIES WITH WHITE NEUTER

BOB WALSH CH. & PR. OLTOMAINE MARLON BRANDO – (30.306)

Red Tabby & White, long body with excellent bone and substance Strong head, bright oblique set hazel eyes, broad nose, good curve, wide based high ears. Glossy coat with classic tabby markings on a pale red ground, long flowing ringed tail – touch on edge but handled well.

1^ST. & PC.GRIFFITHS SHOOKATOO JIMMY CHOO – (27.8.08)

Red Classic Tabby & White boy, thick glossy coat showing deep red tabby markings on a softer red ground, white paws, chest and tummy. Flowing long ringed tail, shaggy tummy and trousers. Wide based ears set high, nose with gentle curve, firm chin, muzzle square, bright obliquely set eyes. Long and lean body with strong thick legs and big feet, tail ringed, reaching neck – lovely temperament.

2^ND. CHAMBERS HUGMETIGHT JINGLE BEAR – (6.8.08)

Red Classic Tabby & White wearing a lovely coat, rich dark red tabby markings on paler ground, white to head, paws, rings to legs, M, eye lines to face, shaggy tummy and trousers. Long lean body, high legs, head not yet caught up with body development. Well set high ears, wide based, curve to nose, bright hazel eyes set obliquely, chin needing to firm up a touch. Flowing long tail with good tabby rings – very shy youngster.

FEMALE

1^ST. & PC BUNCE GR. PR. KEVERSTONE CLEMENTINE – (11.2.07)

Quality Tortie & White lady who was so very shy. Lovely glossy thick coat, showing bright tortie colours, pristine white to paws and face, wide bushy two colour tail to shoulders. Mature head with high tipped ears, bright oblique set greenish hazel eyes, curve to broad nose, firm chin – lovely girl.

AC ADOLESCENT ADULT – MALE

1^ST. WORRELLS DARKTOWER MR BOJANGLES

12 month old Classic Silver Tabby boy, strong bone, length to body. Broad head, high ears, bright eyes, oblique set, firm chin. Tail long and ringed, body showing classic tabby markings on a silvery ground – friendly boy.

2^ND. LETTLEYS SUVICOON SUNSET DANCER

Big long Red Shaded Silver, super muscular body, strong legs. Broad head with ears, wide based, set high, firm chin, very long full tail. Good creamy contrasts with red tipping, heavier on back, even tipping to face, - big gentle boy.

3^RD. PAYNES DRAGONMAINE STRONG-FLAME

Well made Red Classic Tabby.

AC ADOLESCENT ADULT FEMALE

1^ST. LONGLEYS ELMCOON MISS YOU NIGHTS

At 9 months still very much a youngster, but showing length to body and strong limbs. Lovely bright alert expression high ears well set, muzzle square, good chin. Glossy coat with classic tabby markings on a warm ground – lovely nature lass.

2^ND. WHITMARSH MABALAKAT HELPME RHONDDA

Brown Tabby & White wearing a lovely coat, thick but soft, glossy shine, clear tabby markings on a warm ground, length to ringed tail, white to paws, chest and neck. Well set ears, wide based, eyes a touch deep set, firm chin – friendly girl.

3^RD. CHAMBERS HUGMETIGHT PEEKABOO

Very promising Brown Classic Tabby youngster.

AC LIMIT KITTEN

1^ST. SYKES DARAQUIST CHUBBY BROWN

Seven month old Brown Tabby & White boy with strong bone and good substance for age. Super ears wide based, high, long tips and well furnished, curve to nose, bright eyes obliquely set. Thick coat, some slight brindling to back, good tabby markings, white to paws and chest, long tail to shoulders – promising youngster.

2^ND. CHADWICKS LIONMAINE MASAI MARA

Attractive Brown Tabby girl of 5 months with a baby soft coat showing excellent classic tabby markings, tail long to neck. Ears held high and wide at base, curve to nose, good chin, bright eyes obliquely set – super temperament.

3^RD. STANTONS RUSTIBLU QUEEN AMIDALA

Tortie girl of 7 months, striking tortie colours to coat.

1^st. HAYNES UK IMP. GR. PR DAIRYMAINE EMILY

Solid well made Brown Tabby girl, excellent bone, strong limbs, length to body. Broad mature head, curve to nose, bright oblique eyes, square muzzle, firm chin. thick glossy coat, frontal ruff, classic tabby on a warm ground, ling flowing tail – grand lady to handle.

2^nd. JONES GR. PR. KADACOON GIZMO

Red Shaded & White boy, solid with strong bone, well padded, length to body, strong legs. Mature masculine head, high wide based ears, oblique set to hazel eyes, firm chin. Lovely coat full and well groomed, showing good creamy white contrasts, tail full and flowing – ran winner close.

3^rd. WALSH CH. & PR. OLTOMAINE MARLON BRANDO

AC PREMIER OR GR. PREMIER NEUTER

Another class that was a pleasure to judge, all quality exhibits.

1^ST. FLEMINGS GR. PR. COONTASTIC DANCING BRAVE

Mature Brown Tabby & White boy in excellent condition, strong bone and well padded. Length to body, strong high legs, big feet. Broad head, ears set high and wide based, curve to broad nose, bright eyes, real “Coon” expression, firm chin. Thick well prepared coat, clear tabby markings to head, rings to legs, tail long and showing rings, white to paws and tummy – very laid back lad.

2^ND. GARLANDS GR. PR COONARIA CATERINA

Lovely Brown Tabby girl thick glossy coat showing clear classic tabby markings, shaggy tummy and trousers, frontal ruff. Strong and well made. Broad head with ears set high, tipped and feathered, bright expressive oblique set eyes, good chin, tail long and ringed – lovely temperament.
