SHROPSHIRE CAT CLUB JUDGE – Mrs. Barbara Prowse 6/2/2010.

Thank you to Janet and Jill for the invitation to judge once more at this well run show. I had a lovely day in the company of Sarah Walker. This was our first time together and I hope not our last. Thanks Sarah for your help and expertise. We handled some lovely cats and kittens.

AC PERSIAN NON-SELF PREMIER MALE

GRPC W/H – MRS N LESS’S CH & PR SHEERBLISS OHSO THEO (70 12a7) MN 14/4/07

Cream and White Exotic of lovely well balanced Persian type. Well grown boy who is cobby and stands on thick strong legs on large round firm paws. Large round head with excellent width between neat well furnished ears. Round eyes of a very good copper colour. Short broad nose with good stop. Good bite. Full cheeks, strong chin. White to face legs and undersides and part white collar. Coat is in need of a lot more preparation as it was harsh to the touch and not springy at all in fact it was difficult to move your fingers through it. The cream at the moment is very hot in shade and very unsound. Tail is in proportion to his body.

GRPC W/H MRS B EDWARDS’S PR DELAVALE ROSEBUD (12a7) FN 25/6/02

Cream and White Bi Colour of good size and shape but of rather old fashion Persian type. Round head with good width between ears. Round orange eyes which are a little deep set. Nose broad and straight needing much more break. Good bite. Cheeks could be fuller. Coat needing more preparation and showing patches of hot cream with white. Face was rather stained as well. Tail in proportion to body.

BLUE POINT BIRMAN ADULT MALE

1CC BOB MESSERS MLYNEK & HAYWARD’S CONANIMA SNOWDRIFT (13c2) M 19/3/09

Blue Point Birman of good shape and size. Skull is broad and rounded with good width between ears that are medium in size. Almost round deep blue eyes. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Level bite. Rounded cheeks which are full. Coat well prepared, silken in texture with ruff developing. Pure white gloves which are scalloped with socks that cover the entire back paws. Good length to gauntlets. Points are blue-grey in colour and all matching. Tail bushy and medium in length. A lovely young man with a good temperament.

CHOCOLATE/LILAC BIRMAN KITTEN FEMALE

1ST BOB MRS D CONWAY’S BAYGAZER LILAC LIL (13c4) FN 9/5/09

Lilac Point Birman. Good shape and size standing on legs which are medium in length on short strong paws. Skull broad and rounded with ears that are medium in size and spaced well apart. Eyes almost round and a medium blue in colour. Level bite. Cheeks full and round chin a little weak. Nose is medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Well prepared magnolia coat with matching pinkish grey points. Ruff developing. The gloves are scalloped but finish at the angle of the paws with pure white socks that are medium in length. Gauntlets are a good length and taper to a point just below the hocks. Tail short and bushy.

RED/CREAM/TORTIE GROUP BIRMAN KITTEN MALE

1ST BOB MISS N BAILEY’S NICADAEMUS DANSE DEFEU (13c5) M 23/6/09

Red point Birman of excellent size and boning. He is long in the body and of good Birman type. Skull is broad and rounded with ears that are medium in size and spaced well apart. Almost round blue eyes. Lovely profile with the required slight dip. Level bite. The muzzle is strong but could be rounder with fairly wide cheeks which are still developing. Well prepared coat with matching rich red points. Full pure white gloves which finish at the angle of the paw. Medium length white socks and long tapering gauntlets, these finish just below the hocks. Tail medium in length and in proportion to his body. Sweet temperament.

2ND MRS M EDWARDS’S PIPPACRE HARVEST MOON (13c7) MN 11/5/09

Cream Point Birman. Good shape and size to this young man and lovely type and a good temperament. Body is long and he is a good weight. Skull broad and rounded with medium sized ears that are spaced well apart. Almost round medium blue eyes which are nicely spaced. Medium length to nose with a slight dip in profile. Level bite. Cheeks full but chin recedes slightly. Points colour a pastel shade of cream on mask, ears and tail. Clean pure white feet. The front gloves are full, scalloped and finish across the angle of the paw. Socks are medium in length. The gauntlets taper halfway up the back of the legs. Coat needing much more preparation today. Tail bushy, medium in length but slightly hotter in tone.

BROWN TABBY & WHITE MAINE COON NEUTER MALE

1PC BOB MR & MRS WOOD’S COONARIA COOL RUNNINGS (64 41w) MN 28/3/09

Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon. Body is medium in size, solid and muscular. He stands on substantial legs on large round tufted paws. Head medium in length with large tall ears that are well spaced and very well tufted. Eyes round, full and set slightly oblique. Nose of even width with slight shallow curve. Good bite. Square muzzle, firm chin. Cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones. Beautifully prepared coat of a warm brown showing dense black tabby markings well. Ruff and breeches developing well. White chevron, feet, legs, underparts and white chest. Long well ringed tail which reaches the shoulders easily.

BROWN TABBY & WHITE MAINE COON NEUTER FEMALE

1PC MISS & MR CARDIN & FERGUSON’S SHEERCLASS MUSCARKEISHA (64 41w) FN 12/9/08

Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon. Good size and body confirmation standing on substantial legs with large round well-tufted paws. Head medium in length with large tall well-tufted ears, which are spaced well apart. Full and round green eyes set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Muzzle could be a little squarer. Well prepared coat of a warm brown agouti showing M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Body markings are well defined. White feet, chest and underparts. Tail long, well ringed and at least the length of the body.

1ST BOB MISS J HUMPHRIES’S TOPMARX CUPCAKE (15b) F 12/7/09

Chocolate British who is well grown for her age and has a lovely temperament. Body is a good shape and size. He is compact and well balanced. Head is round with full cheeks. Ears are rather large but are well spaced. Round orange eyes which are spaced well apart. Nose short broad and straight. Level bite. Coat is short, dense and crisp. It is a lovely rich shade of chocolate and is slightly unsound near the roots and showing very faint tabby markings. Tail is thick and in proportion to his body.

CREAM KITTEN MALE

1ST BOB MRS C WALTERS’S WESTENBACH ELLIS (17) MN 10/5/09

Cream who is well grown for his age and nicely balanced for type. Body is cobby and he stands on short strong legs. Head round with good width between rounded ears which are a little large. Large round expressive copper eyes. Nose is short, straight and broad with full pink leather. Level bite. Cheeks full with firm chin. Coat is a pale toned cream which is a little cooler in tone near the roots. Coat is dense, short and crisp. He has very slight ghost tabby markings at present. Tail is medium in length with rounded tip.

1ST MRS M MURPHY’S STEELAWAY SAVARNAH (17) F 8/6/09

Cream who is a little rangy in shape at the moment. Body is a good length but she needs to fill out a little more. Her head is small in proportion to her body and needs more breadth. Head is round needing a little more width between ears that are a small and rounded at the tips. Large round expressive copper eyes. Nose is short, straight and broad. Level bite. Cheeks full with firm chin. Coat is a pale toned cream which is paler in tone near the roots. Coat is dense, short and crisp. She has some faint tabby markings at the moment. Tail is medium in length with rounded tip.

1ST MRS A TUCKER’S JHARDUFAE NORDIK NITEQUEEN (67 31ts) F 14/4/08

Silver Tabby and White NFC. Body is long and she is a good weight and has good boning. She stands high on the legs with back legs longer than front on large round paws. Head is triangular and she has a long straight profile. Her head is slightly rounded and her ears are large with good width at the base and follow the line of the head down to the chin. Eyes are large and oval well opened and obliquely set. Good bite. Chin is a little weak. Coat is semi long and she has a woolly undercoat that has a coarser topcoat. She has a full ruff and knickerbockers. Tail is long and bushy and reaches the shoulder blades easily. Well presented and a lovely temperament.

2ND MRS K MITCHELL’S VALLEYCAT HEAVEN-SENT (66 31a) F 4/5/06

Blue Bi Colour Ragdoll. Excellent size and shape. Body is long and she has good boning. She stands on legs that are medium in length on strong round paws. Broad head with flat plane. Ears are medium in size, set wide and slightly tilted forward. Eyes are a medium blue and a good shape and size. Medium length nose with a gentle dip. Level bite. Full cheeks with rounded muzzle. Points colour a bluish grey. Back a bluish grey with a white patch between her shoulder blades. White front legs and white to the level of the underbody on the back legs. Balanced inverted V on face. Bib chest and underparts white. Coat is silken in texture, a good length and well prepared. Long and bushy tail.

1ST MR A HOWARD’S ADATESH KINGSTANDING BLUE (16) F 29/8/08

Pretty British Blue who is cobby and well balanced standing on short strong legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between small ears which are rounded at the tip. Round expressive orange eyes. Nose short, broad and straight with full leather. Level bite. Cheeks round with firm chin. Medium blue shade to coat that is almost sound and is short, dense and crisp. Tail medium in length, thick and has a rounded tip.

2ND MISS J MARTIN’S CHARMODEN DYNOMITE (30a) F 30/7/08

Pretty Blue Spotted British who is a good shape and size, stands low on the legs on round firm paws. Round head with rounded cheeks. Ears are small, rounded at the tips and spaced nicely apart. Large round orange eyes showing just a faint hint of a green rim. Nose is short, broad and straight. Level bite, chin recedes slightly. Coat is short, dense and crisp. Ground colour is a bluish fawn with markings that are deep blue. Head pattern shows a well defined M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to her ears. Pattern on the body and legs shows well defined elongated oval spots which are linked in places. Tail is medium in length and well ringed.

3RD MS S BEEVES’S TOPMARX MAKEINTHE MOVE (15c) F 24/4/09

Lilac who is totally out of balance at the moment, going through the teenage stage. He is a good weight but rather rangy. Round head with rounded cheeks, just a little muzzly at the moment. Eyes large, round and a good shade of orange. Nose is short, broad and straight. Ears are a little large at the moment but nicely spaced. Level bite. Firm chin. Coat short, dense and crisp. Coat is a very nice shade and is frosty grey and has a distinct pink tone. Tail is thick and medium in length.

1ST MISS & MISS CREATON & WALKER’S CRINKLES FORGET ME NOT (79L 21) F 17/4/09

Tortoiseshell Long Haired Selkirk Rex. She is a very good shape and size with excellent boning. She is cobby in type and her body is more rectangular than square. She stands on legs which are medium in length on round firm paws. Round head with a slightly curved top. Ears are medium in size, have curly furnishings and are spaced well apart. Eyes are slightly deep set and could be a little larger for perfection. Nose is short broad and straight with a downward slant. Good bite. Well padded whisker pads giving a rectangular impression. Coat is thick and dense, stands out from the body and is arranged in loose individual curls, it is very well rexed and well presented. Ruff is full and curly as are the trousers. Tail is thick and medium in length.

2ND MRS LYNN-MARIE FOUNTAIN’S BEACHBUOY BOYD (15r) M 7/4/09

Fawn. Excellent shape and size being compact, well balanced with a full broad chest. Standing on short strong legs and firm rounded paws. Round head with good width between neat rounded ears. Large round eyes that are orange in colour and spaced well apart. Short straight broad nose. Cheeks rounded with firm chin. Level bite. Coat is short, dense and crisp. Coat is a warm rosy mushroom colour and is a little cooler in tone near the roots. Tail thick and of medium length.

3RD MISS C HAZEL’S ASPIRITOUS URIAH HEAP (79S 16) M 6/7/07

Blue Shorthaired Selkirk Rex who has a muscular torso and is cobby in type. He stands on legs that are medium in length on round firm paws. Head is broad and well rounded. Ears are quite small in size but are set well apart. Eyes are large, round and well opened. Good profile with medium length nose which has a downward slant. Whisker pads still developing and needing just a little more padding and width. Level bite. Thick and dense coat which is even in length over his entire body and standing out from the body. The rexing is very well developed and shows evidence of the rex gene over the entire coat and his coat is a lovely soft and plush texture. Tail thick and in proportion to his body.

1ST MISS N HUTCHINSON’S ZINGFRO TIGERLILY (16) F 19/6/09

Blue kitten of excellent size and shape. Cobby and compact showing good depth of body. Round head with good width between small rounded ears. Large round orange eyes that are nicely spaced. Nose is short broad and straight. Level bite. Cheeks are full. Chin is a little weak. Coat is a medium shade of blue; it is a little unsound at the moment near the roots. Coat is a little long, dense and soft in texture at this time, rather than crisp. Tail is medium in length and thick with a rounded tip.

2ND MRS C OLDBURY’S CAZBURY MISKISSY ROSE (16) F 11/6/09

Blue kitten of excellent size and shape for her age. Body is cobby and she stands on medium legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between ears that she needs to grow into. Large round orange eyes that are spaced well apart. Nose is short broad and straight. Level bite. Cheeks are full and rounded. Firm chin. Coat is a good shade of blue and is slightly unsound near the roots. Coat is a good texture, dense and crisp. Tail is medium in length with a rounded tip.

1ST MRS W LAW’S MENARA BATHWOOD ARCHER (40 2) MN 30/3/09

Blue Colourpointed who is compact and shows good depth to his body. His head is round with good width between neat ears. Eyes are large and round, blue in colour. Nose is short, broad and straight. Good bite. Round cheeks, firm chin. Coat is dense but a little soft and long. Points are medium blue in shade and her coat is showing some surface shading which tones with the points. Tail is thick and medium in length.

2ND MR & MRS GRAY’S MILETREE OFFSHOREMOON (16) FN 28/5/04

British Blue who is cobby and stands on short strong legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between ears which are a little large. Round expressive orange eyes. Nose short, broad and straight with full blue leather. Level bite. Cheeks could be a little fuller with firm chin. Coat is a dark shade of blue and is short, dense and crisp. Tail medium in length, it is thick and has a rounded tip.

3RD MRS J RILEY’S LILACMIST BLAZE OF GLORY (40 5) MN 20/1/09

Red Colourpointed. Still rather adolescent looking. Body is rangy and he stands high on his legs. Round head with good width between ears that are rounded at the tips. Eyes are large, round and blue in colour. Nose is short broad and straight. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill and he is a little muzzly. Firm chin. Coat is long and soft rather than short and crisp; it is creamy white with slight shading to back and flanks. Points are a rich red. There is faint barring on legs and tail and a faint M to forehead. Tail is thick at the base, medium in length and rounded at the tip.
