THE SHROPSHIRE CAT CLUB SHOW – 06.02.2010 Show Report – Mary Kalal

As always I enjoyed my day at this well run show and would like to congratulate Janet and her team on their success and thank all concerned for the kind invitation and warm hospitality. Many thanks also to Val Kaye for her good company and care for the cats and me during a busy day and I look forward to the next time.

AOV SLH Premier Male:

1 and GR PR to PATTERSON PR FORESTSHADOW CONAN (67.31t) 18.4.08.

A strong and handsome young cat with an excellent expression; long firm well muscled body, legs and tufted paws in proportion, tail long and bushy; ears large, tufted furnished, wide at base and high set, balanced triangular head, straight profile, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, oblique set and hazel green colour. Coat well developed and double with a full ruff and knickerbockers, well developed glossy top coat over a thick woolly basecoat, attractive tabby pattern patched with pristine white; excellent condition and beautifully presented, for me he was the epitome of an outdoor working cat on a Norwegian farm, as the Standard describes..

RESERVE to FISHLOCK-LOMAX PR VIEUXTEMPS VANTAGE VROOM (67.31t) 15.11.02.

A shy but good natured cat who preferred his pen but he handled well; long firm body, legs and tufted paws in proportion, tail long, tapered and bushy; ears large, tufted, furnished and excellent high set, triangular head, almost straight profile, good chin and level bite; eyes large, oblique set and vivid green colour. Coat double and well developed with a woolly basecoat under a glossy topcoat with a full ruff and knickerbockers; very attractive markings with a balanced white inverted V on his face; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AOV SLH Premier Female:

1 and GR PR to ASHWORTH UK GR CH & UK IGR PR EMERISLE DIAMANTE (66.31) 2.3.00.

A lovely female looking great for her age with a firm body, legs and tufted paws in proportion, tail long, tapered and bushy; ears of medium size, tufted furnished, wide set and forward tilted, broad head, full cheeks, dip in profile and retrousse tip to nose, good chin and level bite; eyes oblique set, expressive and dark blue colour. Coat silky and well developed with a full ruff and knickerbockers, warm seal patched with pristine white; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

RESERVE to FISHLOCK-LOMAX PR ADETELO EMPRESS ELIZABETH (67.31et) 15.4.08.

Another lovely female with beautiful tortie colouring; ears of very good size and excellent set, triangular head with a straight profile, chin rounds off slightly, bite level; eyes large, oblique set and bright green colour, dark rimmed. Coat lacking much in the way of basecoat at present but it is developing, very attractive markings in black tabby patched with shades of red and brilliant white; excellent condition and beautifully presented

AC Abyssinian, Cornish or Devon Rex, Korat or Russian Premier Male:.

1 to STARK CH & PR DUSHENKA XANDER (16a) 5.1.08.

A very dense cat who really did not want to be there and made his feelings plain; firm well muscled body, legs with oval paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears large rounded and excellent set, balanced head with a flat skull, slight dip in profile, good broad muzzle with prominent whisker pads, good chin and level bite; eyes of vivid emerald green and almond shape with an excellent expression (when he was in his pen). Coat short, fairly dense but a little flat over his body, even medium blue colour on top slightly lighter at roots; excellent condition and well presented but difficult to handle.

AC Abyssinian, Cornish or Devon Rex, Korat or Russian Premier Female:

1 and GR PR to NOBLE GR CH & GR PR TROIKA AURORA (16a) 3.5.02.

A mature female with a charming expression; firm lithe body, legs and oval paws in proportion, tail long tapered and balanced; ears large, narrow and tall, excellent set, balanced head, flat skull, angle, slight curve to profile, good broad muzzle with prominent whisker pads, chin rounds off slightly, bite level; eyes of almond shape and bright vivid green colour. Coat silky and dense, particularly around her neck and shoulders, even medium blue colour; excellent condition and presentation.

RESERVE to TAMS PR POOLSIDE CHEEKY RASCAL (33a30bs) 6.9.05.

A mature female well named and with a typical ‘Devon’ expression; firm muscular body, fine legs with small oval paws and balanced well covered tail; large ears tufted, broad at base and wide set, broad short head with a flat skull, stop there but could be more defined for perfection, good broad muzzle, chin slightly shallow, bite level; eyes large, well set and expressive green colour. Coat fine and silky, waves regular but could be tighter over her back, very well covered under-parts and there she has tight even waves; excellent condition and presentation.

Siberian Neuter, Female Assessment:

Merit to WAREING ALEXANDRITE SOFIA (82.18) 6.6.08.

 A pretty spayed female, strong and well developed for age; ears a little large and pointed but wide set, good broad head gently rounded, good broad cheek bones, rounded muzzle, good chin and level bite, slight curve to profile; eyes large, well set, oval shape and expressive green colour; firm body, legs and tufted paws in proportion, tail thick at base, could be longer for balance but well furnished. Coat well developed with a glossy top coat, undercoat quite dense and still developing, showing a black tabby pattern on a silvery white base; excellent temperament and condition, she is a good example of a young Siberian neutered female.

Asian Tabby Neutered Male:

BOB to PLAW IGP RAINSONG STEVIE GERRARD (72.45d) 28.6.05.

A charming cat with a superb temperament, firm well muscled body, legs and paws in proportion, tail tapered and balanced; ears moderately large, rounded and wide set, balanced head with a gently rounded top, break to profile, good broad muzzle, firm chin and level bite; eyes large, well set and golden colour. Coat short, close and showing a well ticked pattern in red on a paler warm base; excellent condition and presentation.

Red Point Neuter, Male:

1 PC and BOB to SMOUT PR KAMIK FIRECRACKA (32a) 18.7.08.

An elegant young cat with a long lithe body, long fine legs with oval paws and long fine tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of deep intense blue with an excellent expression. Long neck, coat short and close, excellent shine and texture, medium red points colour and a clear warm toned body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AC Oriental Neuter:

1 to DAVIES SATIVA TIMMYS LITTLESTAR (37) 10.01.07.

A fine boned cat with a long lithe body, long fine legs and fine balanced tail; large ears well set and flared, long wedge head, slightly narrow across his eyes, profile not quite straight, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of vivid green. Long neck; coat short and close excellent shine and texture, dense black colour; excellent condition and presentation.

2 to WEAVER PR FOXYPAWS TILLY BUTTERCUP (37d) 9.6.08.

A tense female who preferred her pen; long firm body, dainty legs and paws and long fine tail; large ears well set and flared, long slightly narrow wedge head, dip in profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes, colour appeared to have an amber cast in the hall lighting. Coat short and close with rich red colouring, excellent shine and texture; excellent condition and well presented.

AC Oriental Non-Breeders Neuter:

1 to HINCHCLIFFE GR PR MYLYNN MUMBO JUMBO (62.36) 25.1.08.

A strong cat, well balanced and of good type; long firm body, long legs with oval paws and long plume-like tail; large ears well set and flared, medium length wedge head, almost straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of clear bright green. Coat silky and well developed showing a black topcoat on a silvery white base; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

2 to ANDERSON PR FIORDILISO EARL GREY (37a) 21.6.08.

A handsome cat also of good type with a long muscular body, long fine legs and long fine tail to balance; large ears of excellent set and flare, even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of clear green. Long neck; coat short close and clear dark blue colour, excellent shine and texture and beautifully presented.

3 to FALCONER KYOMI HONEYBEAR (37n) 12.2.09.

AC Siamese/Balinese Adult:

1 to SIDNELL BABADAG STRIPE PAYJAMAS (32.1) 6.5.09.

A young adult male, just 9 months of age with a firm lithe body, fine legs and paws and long fine well ringed tail; large ears of excellent set and flare showing good thumbprints, medium length even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of dark blue colour with an excellent expression. Long neck; coat short and close with dense seal tabby pattern on points and a lightly ticked body in tone; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

2 to STOKES GR CH LITTLEFEAT TATTOO (32b1) 26.11.05.

A pretty female with a firm lithe body, dainty legs and paws and long fine tail; large ears well set and flared, balanced wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of deep blue colour. Long neck, coat short and close, points well patched and mingled in seal and shades of red, body shaded in tone; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

3 to RATHBONE BELIS DAZZLE (32.1) 26.3.06.

AC Siamese/Balinese 1 or more CCs Adult:

 1 to JOHNSON ROYSTERER SNOWTIME (24c) 2.6.07.

A shy but sweet natured female with a long firm body, fine legs and paws and fine balanced tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, medium length wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of lovely deep colour, shape rather full until she relaxed when she had an excellent expression. Coat short and close with soft pink-lilac points and a clear magnolia tone to her body, excellent condition and beautifully presented.

2 to ARMETT MAZPAHS TIGERLILY (24) 5.3.08.

A young female with large ears well set and flared, medium length wedge head, pinch to muzzle, almost straight profile, chin goes off slightly, bite level; eyes rather full and colour could be deeper. Balanced body with fine legs and paws and balanced tail. Coat short and close, dense seal points, body shaded in tone; sweet natured.

AC Siamese/Balinese Kitten:

1 to SHELDON TIANLEX GLINTOFGOLD (32a) 20.8.09.

A promising young male with a firm lithe body, fine legs and paws and fine balanced tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, medium length even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes, colour appeared to be intense. Long neck; coat slightly open, he seemed to be in a draught, red points colour developing well and clear warm tone to body, excellent condition and presentation.

2 to HOWARTH MIYASAMA MOURINHO (24) 4.6.09.

A well developed young male with a good firm well muscled body, legs and paws in proportion, tail even and balanced; large ears well set and flared, medium length wedge head with a muzzle pinch, straight profile, good chin and level bite; eyes rather full, lovely vivid colour. Coat short and close, excellent shine and texture, points colour developing, clear body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.

AC Siamese/Balinese Visitors Neuter:

1 to DUNCAN GR PR BRYTHAIS SIMPLY RED (32a) 30.5.02.

A charming veteran who purred all the time he was handled; long firm well muscled body, long fine legs and fine balanced tail; large ears of excellent set and flare, balanced wedge head, very slight dip in profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes slightly deep set, lovely deep colour. Long neck, coat short and close with rich red points colour and a warm tone to body; excellent condition and presentation.

2 to MUIR-TAYLOR JOPHAS FATBOYSLIM (32fn) 12.2.09.

A handsome young male with a long firm body, legs and paws in proportion, tail long and fine; large ears well set and flared but tendency to bonnet, even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes, colour appeared to be intense. Long neck, coat short and close, apricot points colour with a warm tone to body, excellent condition and well presented.

3 to WEBB PIPPASTRO MARINSKY (61b) 7.6.08.

AC Balinese Neuter:

1 to WEBB PR PIPPASTRO BOLSHOI (61n) 7.6.08.

A charming young cat with a long firm body, long fine legs with oval paws and balanced plume-like tail; large ears well set and flared, balanced even wedge head, straight profile, good chin and level bite; oriental eyes of vivid blue with an excellent expression. Coat well developed and silky, very good length and soft caramel points colour and a clear cold tone to body; excellent condition and beautifully presented.
