SOMERSET CAT CLUB

6 JUNE 2009

GRACE DENNY

It was indeed a great pleasure to have Helen Hardwick once again to assist me throughout a most enjoyable day. As always her reliability and efficiency leaves nothing to be desired and I thank her sincerely.

OPEN AV SLH GR PR NEUTER MALE

1 IMP NUTLEY GR PR CARAMLEIGH VALENTINO (13c5)

Well presented and of excellent type plus of lovely temperament. Well balanced head, ears of medium size and spaced well apart. Skull broad and rounded, cheeks quite full, slight dip in profile. Eyes almost round of medium blue in colour, chin slightly tapers, chin could be stronger. Bite level, rich points and mask, matching and complete. Body has substance. Coat beautifully prepared with silken texture, length, clarity and ruff, curls on underpants, sturdy limbs, matching gloves and gauntlets. Full tail, quite worthy of the high award.

OPEN AC BRITISH CH ADULT MALE GR N/A

1 YOUNG CH HARLEME BERTRAND (15)

A young male still developing although of good cobby type. Rather a flat forehead, breadth of skull with neat ears well placed, fullness of cheeks, short broad nose with break. Chin rather shallow but bite is level. Wide open deep orange eyes, short in neck, deep body. Coat short and dense but loose and unsound. Sturdy limbs, short thick tail, handled well.

OPEN AO FOREIGN CH ADULT MALE

1 GR CC WAGSTAFF CH SPRINGMEADOW REBELREBEL (76.20)

A very alert exhibit and handled beautifully. Very expressive of the 'breed' broad medium wedge with rounded contours. High cheek bones, ears short with rounded tips, eyes oval and quite large, broad nose, full in muzzle with whisker break, chin firm, bite level. Profile shows a gentle curve, thick at neck. Body sleek and muscular, coat pattern clearly defined and mask, short and soft in texture and quite luxurious, strong limbs, well barred to toes. Tail thick and ringed, spotted underpants.

OPEN AO FOREIGN CH ADULT FEMALE

1 GR CC PILKINGTON CH GARES OYSTERCATCHER (72.45q)

A beautifully presented exhibit, quite exquisite and full of bloom. Short wedge wide across cheek bones, tapering to blunt muzzle depth at jaw hinge. Brow curves gently to nose with distinct break. Bite level. Body hard and muscular, coat short fine and glossy, evenly ticked throughout with warm base. Elegant limbs, tail tapers to solid tip. Handled beautifully.

RESERVE BRUCE-GARDNER CH FRILFORD SILVER FILAGREE (72.43sq)

Another excellent exhibit unlucky to meet winner today. A most elegant attractive lady, just faulted on forehead being a little flat. Well balanced wedge wide across cheek bones tapering to blunt wedge with good width at jaw hinge, in profile shows distinct stop. Chin firm bite level, good head carriage, body sleek and muscular. Coat evenly ticked with silver base, short and fine, with bloom, slender limbs. Tapering tail to solid tip. Of excellent temperament.

OPEN AOC BRITISH SH ASSESSMENT ADULT

MERIT LEIGHTON PORTEOUS SPINTHEBOTTLE (15.45A)

Of typical British cobby type, broad round head, full cheeks neat well placed ears, short broad nose, with correct colour nose leather. Chin firm, level bite, eyes wide open, deep gold in colour. Well muscled cobby body on well boned, strong legs, neat round paws. Thick short tail showing some rings. Beautiful coat dense, thick, crisp and short of very pleasing blue and bluish fawn undercoat. Clear ticking, two unbroken necklaces. Tabby 'M' to forehead and some barring on legs shown in excellent condition. A lovely exhibit and delight to handle.

OPEN CHOC/LILAC PT BIRMAN ADULT FEMALE

1CC BOB BRIGLIRDON/ROBSON SHWECHINTHE KASINA (13c3)

A well presented exhibit of both type and temperament. Well balanced head, broad rounded skull, eyes of brilliant colour almost round in shape. Cheeks developing well for a young 10 month of age lady, ears of medium size and well spaced, slight dip in profile. Chin tapers well, bite level. Body long with substance. Coat silken in texture with length and ruff, ivory in colour, quite unblemished. Points and mask quite complete for a 'choc'. Strong limbs thick set paws. Symmetrical gloves one gauntlet slightly unmatched. Bushy tail.

OPEN BRITISH SH BLACK/CHOC/LILAC TORTIE ADULT

1CC BOB HEMMING HINDERSLYNE HECAT (21)

A young female of only 10 1/2 months but of cobby type and in excellent condition. Round faced, cheeks quite full. Neat ears, breadth between, eyes wide open, deep orange in colour. Chin firm, bite level, short broad nose with break. Low on legs, cobby body. Coat short and dense. Colours well mingled with red, except one solid front paw, short thick tail. I understand she became a champion today.

OPEN BRITISH SH RED/CREAM/TORTIE/TABBY KITTEN BOB N/A

1 O'CONNOR HUMBUG MINNIMINX (20E)

Lacks British SH type. Small roundish head for 8 months of age, eyes nondescript in colour and again small ears close set, with narrow top. Chin firm. Long rangy body, coat pattern quite clear and tortie colouring in evidence, but far too much base brindling which is grey to base. Fine boned. Tail long. Of good temperament.

OPEN BRITISH SH BLACK NEUTER MALE

1PR BOB FLYNN HINDERSLYNE D'ARTAGNAN (15)

Just adult and very immature but of cobby type. Round faced, cheeks just in evidence, ears have breadth between but open. Short broad nose, eyes well opened and deep gold in colour. Chin firm. Deep in body, coat dense but showing faint tabby markings and pattern as yet. Rather fine of bone. Short thick tail.

OPEN BRITISH SH CHOCOLATE NEUTER FEMALE PR N/A & BOB

1 MCLEAN MOORMIST CHOCOLATE PARFAIT (15B)

A year old but lacking typical 'British SH' type. Head out of balance, ears set rather on side of head and open. Long in nose, too sharp in muzzle. Eyes were opened golden in colour. Bite level, body quite muscular. Coat long and shows tabby markings throughout. Tail short and fine of bone.

OPEN ORIENTAL CINNAMON NEUTER MALE

1PR BOB HACKING ALLIBEAR MICKEYMOUSE (37K)

Shown in excellent condition, length of head. But although ears are large and wide at base need more breadth between for balance. Slight dip in profile. Eyes oriental in setting of lovely green tone. Muzzle shows pinch, chin firm. Coat short and fine in texture and of desired cinnamon colour, elegant limbs. Tapered tail. Handled beautifully.

OPEN AC BRITISH SH COLOURPOINTED NEUTER FEMALE

1PR BOB CROOK MIBAYBESE ZARA (40.4)

Rather small but cobby and compact. Round faced, breadth of skull with neat well set ears, eyes were opened. Cheeks have fullness. Short broad nose. Chin firm, bite level. Short in neck, deep body. Clear dense coat, excellent 'lilac' points and mask which is complete, sturdy limbs. Short thick tail. Handled well.
