Suffolk & Norfolk CC Show

16 May 09.

Report by Mrs. Dorothy A Stone.

Grateful thanks to Helen, Sean, Sue, Grace and the Committee for your kind invitation to judge at this super show, also for the fantastic hospitality. We had a wonderful time. Fellow judge MARK PEARMAN made his debut stewarding for me in the Burmese section and was all anyone could possibly wish for. Very many thanks, Mark. I really enjoyed our day together & hope to return the favour some time. I hope I was as much benefit to you as you were to me.

BURMESE GRAND PREMIER MN. 3 entries.

GPC WEALE’s Gd Pr ROSSIKHAN BLUESAN TWOS. Blue. 4 yrs, 1 ½ mths.

Super wedge, lovely width to flattish top of head, large well shaped ears are well set thus continue the line of the wedge. Profile shows rounding to brow, slightly flat forehead, distinct break to aquiline nose that has a small bump, receding chin could be slightly deeper, untidy but level bite. Gorgeous large lustrous greenish-yellow eyes enhanced with mascara are well shaped, set & have that unique smouldering expression. Mature well balanced chap of very good size, weight & conformation has required fit firm feel, elegant muscular legs, neat oval paws, well shaped tail prefer longer to balance. Super short, sleek, shining coat of even antique pewter blue has required silvering on rounded areas. Shown in top condition I loved this adorable lad who is now fulfilling his early promise and should go all the way.

Res ELLIS’s Imp Gd Pr MAINMAN APOLLO. Chocolate. 8 yrs, 11 ¾ mths.

Lovely wedge & top of head, his well shaped & sized ears seemed slightly high set today. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, well defined break to sloping nose, firm level chin but bite seemed a little uneven today. Expressive yellow-chartreuse eyes are well sized, shaped & set. Mature gentleman of somewhat over-generous proportions thus appeared inelegant today, shapely limbs, well shaped tail needs an inch or so to balance. Slightly long glossy coat with silky feel has no noticeable contrast but was rather dark & patchy in colour today (no doubt been making the most of the fine weather). A real sweetie & a firm favourite of mine, he just needs fining down a little for perfection.

BURMESE GRAND PREMIER FN. 9 entries. A quality class in which I was really spoilt for choice – thanks folks!

GPC REES’s Pr OAKENSHIELD LOUISIANA. Cream. 2 yrs, 8 mths.

Lovely balanced wedge, well shaped & sized ears are set just right thus continue the line of the wedge. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, definite break but chin recedes and is shallow. Gorgeous large lustrous Primrose yellow eyes have that unique expression! Mature lady has weighty but muscular body, elegant muscular legs, dainty oval paws, thick tail of correct shape prefer longer to balance. Super short coat with satin texture & sheen, has powdering on rounded areas but is a little dark in colour. Shown in very good condition, a mouthy minx who really impressed me – well done!

Res WARD’s Gd Pr KUPRO SWEETALYSSUM. Choc Tortie. 10 ½ yrs.

Short, wide wedge looking rather square in the muzzle today as she was puffing out her whisker pads, wide gently rounded top of head, medium sized ears are well shaped & set. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, distinct break to aquiline nose that has a small bump, chin has depth but recedes slightly. Expressive eyes are well sized, shaped & set but time has emphasized the green in them. Medium sized matron lacking just a little in substance and muscle tone today has well shaped body & limbs, well shaped tail balances body. Quality glossy coat of attractively combined warm milk chocolate and varying shades of red. In good physical condition she was happier in her pen today.

AOC TORTIE BURMESE ADULT. 1 entry plus 3 for BoB.

ASIAN TIFFANIE MALE KITTEN. 1 entry.

1st. COLGAN’s RUSHBROOKE SILVER CHIPNDALE. 68 43s. 14 wks, 1 day.

Short wide blunt wedge, top of head is of good width & gently rounded. Profile shows a very good depth of skull from brow to lower jaw, rounded brow & forehead, acceptable break to slightly long nose the leather of which is brick coloured, deep level chin, level bite. Well sized broad based ears with oval tips and forward tilt with tufts and long curling streamers & are spaced well apart. Brilliant hazel eyes are spaced well apart but are too full thus lack the desired expression; lids have the required dark outline and the paler spectacle-like surrounds, pencil lines from the outer corners & a smudge of colour in the inner corners. Well grown lad has well shaped body but is rather bony & needs to muscle up somewhat, slightly short medium boned legs, large round paws have tufts between the toes, well shaped tail of good length has a small invisible irregularity near the tip, plume still developing. Coat that is still developing is glossy, long, fine, lies flat along the spine but is very wild looking & upstanding; black shading is quite heavy and has a sparkling silver undercoat with no breakthrough but there is some tarnishing on his nose. A very sweet baby shown in acceptable physical condition & very well prepared.

ASIAN TIFFANIE FEMALE KITTEN. 1 entry.

1st & BoB COLGAN’s RUSHBROOKE AIRGEAD GAGARAN. 68 43s. 14 wks, 1 day.

Short blunt wedge of very good width, gentle rounding to wide top of head. Profile shows rounding to brow & forehead, good depth to skull from brow to lower jaw, acceptable break to slightly long nose that has brick coloured leather but has some tarnishing around it, deep level chin & level bite. Broad based ears with tufts & long curling streamers have required oval tips & forward tilt are spaced well apart but could be slightly larger. Large lustrous well spaced muddy coloured eyes with dark rims & pale coloured spectacle-like surrounds are fairly well shaped thus have required expression. Well grown girl has muscular body of good weight, straight back & rounded chest but is rather heavy boned, her legs seeming rather short & thick, large round paws have tufts between the toes, tapering tail is rather broad at the base and of good length – plumy fur is coming in nicely. Long silky glossy coat with ruff developing lies flat along the spine, is evenly shaded with a slightly darker spine line, black colour shades down about 1/3rd of the shaft to sparkling silver undercoat with no breakthrough, charcoal grey colour on the hocks & heels, leg barring, spotty tummy & tail rings. A sweet soul in good physical condition and very well prepared.

ASIAN SMOKE or BURMILLA FEMALE KITTEN. 1 entry.

1st & BoB DEW’s DEWRIDGE BRONTE LIVEWIRE. 72 43sq. 4 mths, 8 days.

Short blunt wedge needs more width across cheekbones/jaw hinge & showing a slight teething pinch today, gently rounded top of head could be slightly wider. Profile shows that skull could be a little deeper from brow to lower jaw, fair break to nose that “rolls off” at the tip, chin that could be a little deeper is set back thus out of alignment with tip of nose. Large broad based ears with rounded tips and forward tilt are well set when relaxed. Gold eyes with green pupil ring have dark rims, paler spectacle-like surrounds, are of good size, are spaced well apart & are of required shape thus having typical expression. Well grown medium boned girl has well shaped and muscled body of good weight for age & size, elegant muscular legs, large oval paws, tapering tail is of good length thus balances body. Super sleek, short, shining coat has required satin texture, seal brown colour in the top third of the shaft shades gradually down to a sparkling silver undercoat, evidence of tabby pattern vis a darker spine line/dorsal area, brown colour from heels up to hocks, darker tail tip, silvery underside of tail, light leg bars & tail rings. A sweet soul in good condition.

TONKINESE FEMALE KITTEN. 2 present.

1st. (BoB N/A) BERNARD’s MIMAPERKS SOLITAIRE. 74e. 8 mths, 8 days.

Moderate, quite well balanced wedge has a nicely rounded muzzle, well defined whisker pinch, top of head is of acceptable width but lacks the required gentle rounding. Profile shows curved brow, forehead however is flat and nose lacks the required gentle break, chin is level & of good depth, level bite. Wide based ears with oval tips are too large, rather flared and are set slightly high. Expressive, green eyes of very good size are spaced well apart but are of incorrect round shape. Well grown lass has muscular body of medium length and good weight, rounded chest, level flanks, elegant muscular legs, neat oval paws, broad based tail of medium thickness & length tapers to a point. Short, sleek, shining coat of warm seal brown broken with varying shades of red has slightly darker points and tail. A sweet girl in good condition, unfortunately her straight profile coupled with her large ears & round eyes precluded the BoB award today.

2nd. CRAGG’s WAKANDA GOODIE BLUSHOOZ. 74a. 8 months, 29 days.

Wedge is too long and narrow but tapers to a nicely rounded muzzle showing a well defined whisker pinch, top of head is of good width but rather flat, slipped crown (falls behind her ears instead of between them). Profile shows curved brow, flat forehead, profile is straight thus lacks the required gentle break, chin has depth but recedes thus is out of alignment with tip of nose. Wide based ears with rounded tips are well set when relaxed but are far too large and flyaway. Slightly small but well set eyes the upper lids of which have the required slant towards the nose, the lower lids being more rounded, are of a lovely bluish green. Adolescent lass of very good size is too fine boned & long in the body, is of acceptable weight but could be more muscular, elegant legs, neat oval paws, tapering tail is too long and fine & has some rings evident. Short fine glossy coat is of a sandy blue body colour, but the points are too sharp thus failed to blend as required. A sweet wriggler in acceptable condition who needs to muscle up.

Lovely short wide blunt wedge, correct top of head & ears, profile shows rounded brow & forehead, distinct break & a lovely deep level chin. Elegant, mature queen of very good size, weight & conformation, shapely limbs, tail of required shape & good length has a tiny invisible pip at the tip. Quality coat of warm seal brown has a highly polished finish. This gorgeous lady who epitomises the Breed (& is so like her unforgettable ancestor Gd Ch Lusara Charlie Brown) has the most meltingly sweet nature. We had a lovely cuddle.

Lovely buttercup yellow eyes have typical expression. Mature queen of medium size carrying a trifle too many pounds thus lacking the required elegance, shapely limbs, well shaped tail balances.
