TABBY POINT SIAMESE & PROGRESSIVE BREEDERS CC – 27 SEPTEMBER 2008 – BRENDA PEARCE

I was delighted to judge here again, and would like to thank Harry and the Committee for inviting me. The cats were all relaxed and handled extremely well in the care of my steward Catherine Moulton – thank you Catherine for your expertise and excellent company. I apologise to Harry and the exhibitors for being a little late in sending this report to Our Cats, this was due to unexpected family commitments.

Imperial Class – AC Oriental GR PR Male.

IGP, Holder’s GR PR MYLYNN MAGICNOIR. (62 36) 9.12.06.

Black Smoke Longhair. Exceptionally handsome boy, big, strong and masculine, his type excellent. Lovely strength and balance to his head. Ears large, wide based and set perfectly in line, with wisps and fronds to the base. Excellent strong, straight profile with lovely depth to chin, straight line nose to chin, level bite. Very good oriental shape and setting to his bright green eyes – most inscrutable expression. Body very hard and muscular, strong and well nourished, but not so much as to spoil his overall lines. Long strong legs with large tufted feet. Tail well plumed, almost balances. Beautifully silky texture and correct flow to his jet black glossy top coat with correct length near white undercoat - the smoke effect very even indeed. He is quite something – having stolen my heart as a baby, it gave me immense pleasure today to be able to award him top honours. As always he was presented to perfection in his pristine pen.

RIGP Smith’s GR PR MOUSTACHES FENTON FAUVE. (37fn) 22.6.99.

Apricot. A big strong lad of 9 years plus, looking very impressive overall – especially in regards to colour. Very strong broad wedge head, his ears well set although, for my preference, could be a touch larger. Good strong profile, deep firm chin, bite level, lovely to see a full set of sparkling clean white teeth. Expressive clear green eyes of very good oriental shape and set. Long strong body and neckline, although well nourished he is firm and muscular. Long strong legs, stands proudly - has presence. Tapered tail needs a touch more length for perfect balance. Beautifully prepared sound and close lying coat - superb hot sandy toned apricot free of ghosting and of excellent texture. Endearing temperament, very chatty, excellent presentation.

Imperial Class – AC Oriental GR PR Female.

IGP w/h, 1 Clayden’s GR PR SPELLCASTER BLACKBESS. (37) 24.2.04.

Black. A dainty lady, beautifully presented and of good overall type, but for me not up to Imperial standard. Mid length wedge head with fairly even lines. Her ears I would prefer a little larger and with more flare to better balance her wedge. Small dip to profile the chin could be deeper, her bite looked to be level although there were quite a few missing teeth. Slightly full pale green eyes with a very worried expression. Good length firm and well muscled body, with slim legs and a whip tail which requires a little more length. Tends to hunch up and not want to show herself off – but there again they can’t all be extroverts. Sleek jet black coat which was sound and well prepared. Excellent preparation and handled well, but I wouldn’t say that she was all that happy today.

Seal Point Siamese Adult Female.

1 CC & BOB, Bowles-Gowdy’s MAFDET THEJAZZSINGER. 25.5.06.

Seal Point Siamese. Lovely queen – very elegant – excellent type. Strong well balanced head, excellent width to balance the length - ears large, wide based and beautifully set. Very good profile, firm chin – level bite, although some of the teeth somewhat untidy. Eyes of excellent oriental shape and set – very good deep vivid colour. Long body, firm and well toned with graceful neckline, long slender legs and a fine whip tail. Dense matching points. Body warmly shaded in tone with her points – quite a lot of shading evident but the contrast acceptable. Lovely texture to coat, close lying and beautifully prepared. Excellent presentation - lovely temperament.

2 Northfield’s ADSETAM SAPPHIRES LEGACY. 8.6.07.

A younger queen, well grown but still to gain full adult maturity. Overall of good type with a mid length slightly pinched wedge head. Her ears large and fairly well set. Profile has a small dip, the chin slopes back slightly but her bite is level. Bright blue eyes, need a touch more depth and intensity, held rather full but better when returned to her pen. Good length body, firm and well muscled, elegant legs with dainty feet, fine whip tail in balance. Her points somewhat mismatched – the mask, ears and tail being a cold toned seal, but her legs and paw pads, particularly the front ones were very chocolaty. Lightly shaded coat of good texture, well prepared and close lying, but the colour more typical of chocolate than seal. At the moment I would describe her colouring as ‘shocolate’, neither correct for seal or chocolate - hopefully things will improve as she gains maturity. She was beautifully presented and very friendly.

Balinese Adult Male.

CC w/h, 1 Davison’s DORAL FORSYTHE. (61nt) 23.11.05.

Caramel Tabby Point. A boy of good type and colouring – beautifully presented and a dream to handle. Mid length wedge head with good strength and even lines. His ears, although I would like them a little bit larger, are well set. Very good straight profile, his chin lines up but could be a touch deeper – the teeth rather untidy but his bite appeared level. Lovely eyes and expression – they were bright and vivid in tone with very good depth of blue. Body long, firm and well muscled, but not the real hard feel of a mature full male. Long legs and fairly well plumed tail. Caramel tabby markings of excellent colour, overall well defined. M and single ribbons to his mask, shadow leg bars, hint of tail rings in the longer hair of his plume. Coat un-shaded and of correct silky texture, but lacking the length required by the breed standard at the moment. There was a lot I liked about him but he does lack the masculinity I would expect to see in a full male of almost three years, and taking into account this, and the lack of coat at the moment, I felt that I could not award the Certificate on this occasion.

Balinese Adult Female.

CC w/h, Woodhouse’s DORAL INYOURDREAMS. (61e) 22.6.07.

Seal Tortie Point. An attractive queen of good overall type and balance, but I felt that she was looking quite immature for her age of 1 year 3 months. Short even wedge head with large ears wide at the base and well set. Her profile very good, almost completely straight, and with a firm chin. Some untidy teeth but her bite looked acceptable. Very good bright and vivid colour to her eyes – of good oriental shape and setting, held just a little full on handling but much better when relaxed in her pen. Good length firmly muscled body with elegant legs. Tail almost balances and is well plumed. Points all well mingled in warm seal brown and shades of rich bright, and paler red. Warm tone to body, showing a little light shading over her back. Very well prepared silky coat, lying correctly along her body, and of good length. Promising for type but she does need a little more time to grow up before I would be happy to award a Certificate. Presentation and temperament both excellent.

Oriental Longhair Kitten Male.

1 & BOB, Ellis’s ROUJASMA RED RUFUS. (62 43ds) 22.3.08.

Red Silver Shaded. Very well grown and developed – a kitten of good overall type. Short strong and evenly balanced wedge head with large wide based and well set ears. Very good profile, almost straight with a deep firm chin and level bite. Very good shape and setting to his olive eyes, the colour just acceptable. Long body, very firm and well muscled with long strong legs, large tufted feet and a good length tail with developing plume. Coat of good length for his age, silky in texture with a clear silver undercoat pushing up to about half the hair length at present, his rich red top coat showing very little pattern. Very sweet temperament – excellent presentation.

2 Ellis’s ROUJASMA RED ADMIRAL. (62 20d) 22.3.08.

Red Tabby. Another nice kitten, well grown although finer boned than his brother. Good strength to wedge, just requires a little more width to better balance the length. His ears large and well set – a touch more width between them would give better flare. Very good straight profile, firm chin, level bite. Good oriental shape and setting to hazel eyes. Long well muscled body with long slim legs and quite neat paws. His tail a little short but well plumed. Lovely rich red coat of good length for his age, and silky texture. Tabby markings well defined on his face, but there is little evidence of pattern on his body at the moment. Presentation and temperament both excellent.

Seal Point Siamese Neuter Male.

PC w/h, 1 Abbott’s CHENAZZ BEHINDBLUEEYES. 12.4.07.

A very long and tall youngster looking somewhat immature and un-balanced today. Long narrow wedge head requiring more width to balance the length, and more masculine strength. Large ears which, although well set, need more width at the base, and between them. Very good straight profile but requires more depth to chin which slopes back slightly. Bite level. Lovely bright vivid blue eyes which were good for both oriental shape and setting – held just a touch full on handling but correct when relaxed in his pen. Very long and elegant in type, firm and well muscled but he does look a little effeminate at the moment. Long slender legs. Long fine whip tail. Points of lovely matching warm seal brown, his warm fawn body just shows a little tonal shading over his back – contrast excellent. Coat beautifully prepared, short and close lying. Delightful friendly temperament and beautifully presented

Oriental Caramel Neuter Male.

Judged for BOB only and awarded. Smith’s MOUSTACHES CARAMELLE TWIST. 13.9.03.

A super boy, as always prepared and presented to perfection – a credit to his owner. Very strong broad wedge head - his ears of good size are very well set, and follow the lines of his wedge. Very good strong profile, good depth to firm chin, level bite with lovely clean white teeth. Bright green eyes - very good oriental shape and setting – proudly expressive. Heavy long muscular body, long strong legs, long tapered tail. Beautifully prepared and sound brownish grey caramel coat, free of ghosting and very close lying. Lovely relaxed temperament.

1 & IC, Falconer’s KYOMI SANCHO PANZA. 13.7.06.

A handsome and elegant lad – very good type and style. His head of good length and strength with just a tiny muzzle pinch. Ears large wide at the based and of excellent set. Profile very nearly straight with a firm chin and level bite - teeth clean and even. Bright green eyes of very good oriental shape and setting – lovely expression too. Long muscular body – lovely feel to him. Long elegant legs with a tapered tail in balance. Beautifully prepared sound brownish grey caramel coat which, although a touch long, was close lying and of excellent texture. Presentation and temperament both excellent.

2 Booth & Sheward’s INAZUMA MYSTERYOS STRANGER. 16.1.03.

Huge big strong boy, getting on for 6 years and looking well. His head a short broad wedge with well set ears which need to be a little larger and more flared for better balance. Profile has a small dip, chin could be deeper, the bite level. Rather full pale green eyes, not quite the desired oriental shape and setting. Long heavy muscular body, very well nourished, with long strong legs and a good length tapered tail. Dark brownish grey caramel coat of good texture and almost sound. A well presented boy who, although extremely shy, was of gentle disposition and easy to handle.

AOC Siamese Breeders Adult.

1 Reed’s IMP GR CH JOHPAS SENORITA RUMBALITA. (32a) F 1.5.05.

Red Point. Looking her usual superb best – in my book very hard to beat – her type is pure text book and she knows how to sell herself to perfection. Congratulations on another Best Exhibit award.

2 Bowles-Gowdy’s MAFDET THEJAZZSINGER. (24) F 25.5.06.

Seal Point.

3 Woodhouse’s CH DORAL ELIZADOOLITTLE. (24a) F 7.9.05.

Blue Point. Very good type – albeit rather small and dainty, but it’s all here and in balance. Her head strong and well balanced with large ears wide at the base and very well set. Very good strong profile, firm chin. Bite acceptable. Dark blue oriental eyes, touch wide on handling. Long fine body and legs. Fine whip to balance. Points rather a dark shade of blue but well matched. Body shaded to tone. Coat close lying, just a touch harsh over her spine. Very sweet – beautifully presented.

AOC Siamese Non Breeders Kitten.

1 Crowley & Lambert’s JOHPAS SONNYDAZE. (32fn) MN 3.3.08.

Apricot Point. Lovely big strong boy – very good type. Good length strong wedge head, very even lines with large ears, wide at the base and very well set. Very good strong profile, chin could be a touch firmer, his bite level. Very good oriental shape and setting to his eyes – colour bright, just needs a touch more intensity – lovely expression though. Very long muscular body – already looking big and masculine. Soft warm apricot points – glad to see he’s been re-registered. Un-shaded warm creamy white body with superb texture to his short and close lying coat. Delightful lad beautifully prepared and presented.

2 Le Marchant’s MERESCLIFF CEANOTHUS. (24a) M 5.5.08.

Blue Point. Promising little baby, well grown for his age. Good strength to his evenly balanced wedge head with large wide based and well set ears. Excellent strong profile, firm chin, level bite. Eyes well shaped and set – lovely bright vivid colour – intermittent squint at the moment. Promising length to well muscled body with legs and tail in balance. Blue points just a touch dark on his ears, mask and tail -pale and silvery on his legs. Clear glacial body – his coat with short, close and well prepared. Very shy at the moment, probably his first show – excellent presentation.

AV Visitors Kitten.

1 Willis’s LEBRETON FINLAY. (48 40b) M 21.2.08.

Chocolate Pointed & White Oriental Bicolour. Strong beautifully grown kitten – very good type – very stylish and promising. Long strong wedge head with large wide based and well flared ears. Strong profile with a small bump over the bridge – forehead a little flat. Chin just fades a touch but his bite is level. Dark blue eyes of excellent oriental shape and setting – lovely confident expression – very knowing! Very long body and neckline, very well developed and muscular. Stands tall on long slim legs. Very long whip tail balances. Coat short, close and of superb texture. Points of dark coldish chocolate with a white inverted V on his face, white ear tips, white on all feet and legs, along his sides, and continually from his throat down his chest and under his tummy to his tail. Absolutely delightful lad – wonderful temperament – beautifully presented and well deserving of his best oriental kitten award.

2 Crowley & Lambert’s JOHPAS SONNYDAZE. (32fn) MN 3.3.08.

Apricot Point Siamese.

Richard’s DEBIKAT GRACIE-MAE. (32/1) F 2.4.08.

Seal Tabby Point Siamese.

Oriental SH Non Breeders Neuter.

1 Falconer’s KYOMI SANCHO PANZA. (37n) MN 13.7.06.

Caramel.

2 Clements’s PR LUNATORA SILVER STARDUST. (43s) MN 23.4.07.

Black Silver Shaded. Fine boned of very good type – although still looking quite immature for his age. Long wedge head, his ears large, wide based and well set. Good profile, almost straight with quite a good chin and acceptable bite. Mid green eyes of good oriental shape and setting, held a little full. Long slender body, well muscled but as yet a touch effeminate. Long legs and tail. Superb short and close fitting coat, his pale silver undercoat pushing the black ticked based shading well up the hair shaft. Unfortunately he does have quite a lot of tarnishing at the moment on his face, legs and chest which is a pity because in all other respects he measures up very well. As always he was beautifully prepared and presented.

3 Clayden’s GR PR SPELLCASTER BLACKBESS. (37) FN 24.2.04. Black.
