REPORT FROM CAROLINE WREN
NATIONAL CAT CLUB SHOW – 29.11.2008
Thanks to Carol & Ron for my invitation to their show. Karen Holloway very kindly came especially to steward for me and did a grand job. Thanks, Karen, hope you enjoyed yourself.
BSH BLACK ADULT
1. CC & BOB EDMONDS’ IDLEBECK ENRY IGGINS – 18.02.08. Male. A lovely big lad with a broad top of head. Neat ears set well. Wide across the rounded brow. Round orange eyes with a slight green rim at present. Well developed cheeks. Broad short nose and a firm rounded muzzle. Level bite. Heavy solid body which is broad and deep with good bone to the legs. Coat is just a fraction long on his back but a better on his head and shoulders (he is still changing coat). Glossy jet black which is sound to the roots. Unfortunately he has a defect at the end of his tail and this precluded me from awarding the certificate. A pity in an otherwise lovely exhibit.
BSH LILAC ADULT
1. CC & BOB. EDMONDS’ IDLEBECK EDDIE EAGLE – 18.02.08. Male. Litter brother to the above lad. Medium sized ears set well on broad top of head. Rounded brow and the cheeks are well filled. Round orange eyes with a slight green rim. Short nose, full rounded muzzle and the bite is level. Solid body which is cobby and deep with very well boned thick legs. Big round paws. Thick tail with faint pattern rings. Coat is a good length and is dense with a crisp texture. It lays just a little flat on his back at present. Pale shade of lilac with good pinky tone to it and it is sound to the roots.
2. TAPPING’S ADMIRARI GORDON BENNETT – 23.07.06. Male. A big mature lad. Very broad top of head with small ears which fit well into the head contour. Small round eyes of pale orange. Nicely rounded brow and very full cheeks. Strong rounded muzzle with a level bite. Cobby body which is very deep but the legs a little fine in proportion to the body. Short tail with rounded tip. The coat is dense but very open today especially on his back and s rather greasy. Pale lilac but just lacking a little in pinky tone. Lovely temperament.
BSH BLUE TORTIE & WHITE
Not entered in this class:
BOB to LORTON-HOBB’S GR CH LORASTON MODESTY BLAIZE – lovely example of her breed. I just wrote ‘gorgeous’ on my book!
BSH CHOCOLATE ADULT INTERMEDIATE
1. IC & BOB. ACTON’S IDLEBECK AL ABAMA – 14.09.06. Male. Broad rounded top of head. Small ears spaced well apart. Rounded brow and full cheeks. Round eyes of very pale orangy yellow. The nose is a fraction long for balance and the muzzle needs to strengthen more. Level bite. Well grown body but still looks adolescent and rangy. Good bone to the legs. Correct length and shape to the tail. Short dense coat of a firm texture. Rich chocolate which is virtually sound to the roots.
2. EDMONDS IDLEBECK EAGER BEAVER – 18.02.08. Male. Small head with large ears which could be wider apart . Nicely rounded brow but the cheeks are not yet developed. Round pale orange eyes. Nose is a little long and he is narrow in the muzzle at present. Level bite. The body is well grown and at this stage is out of balance with the head size. Short legs which could be sturdier. Balanced length tail with rounded tip. Short coat but laying very flat and the chocolate is dark and very unsound.
BSH CREAM KITTEN
1 & BOB. CHANCE’S CHARMODEN SIMPLYTHEO – 07.08.08. Male. Attractive little chap. Small ears with good width between on rounded top of head. Nicely rounded brow and the cheeks are filling out well. Round eyes with good colour developing. Short broad nose and a rounded muzzle with a firm chin. Level bite. Well grown solid body which is deep and there is good bone to the short legs. Balanced length tail. Lovely coat, short, dense and crisp. Pale cream which is sound to the roots and reasonably free of markings.
