JUDGES REPORT MS JANE E. ALLEN
Thanks to Carol, Ron and the committee for the kind invitation to judge at the show this year. My congratulations and admiration to them for making such a success of the new show venue. Judging by the numbers of people attending the show I think it must have been a success.
I certainly had some lovely cats to judge and was delighted to have Sue Danks with me for the day. Thanks Sue for all your help, great company and for the marked catalogue at the end of a long and busy day!
IMPERIAL PERSIAN ADULT MALE
IMP GR CC COOKS GR CH BLACK BARNEY VAN IWANDA (IMP) 1
Looking really impressive today. Broad top of head with neat low set ears. Round copper eyes, fat cheeks. Acceptable bite and chin. Cobby and compact body that was covered in a full, dense raven black coat. Excellent boning with a short tail. Beautifully presented and I was so pleased to learn that this made him an Imperil titled cat – well done all concerned.

An exotic male that I also like a lot and have given a grand to quite recently. He too is a most impressive male and worthy of this high award but at two years the junior to Barney it just showed a little in the final assessment and this was my only reason for the placings.

I really liked this little lady and felt at 5 years of age she certainly was worthy of this award. One of the nicest golden coats that I have seen for sometime, delicately tipped and with virtually no greying at the roots of her well presented coat. Very pretty expression with wide set, neat ears. Round expressive eyes of sea green with correct liner and pencilling. Short nose with brick leather and liner. Wide cheeks. Her bite was a fraction undershot and she was missing a few teeth and this I felt just accentuated it. Very sweet to handle and congratulations to her breeder/exhibitor on this award.

I thought this young man was extremely nice and what a size and substance for his age!
At six months just starting to go into a slightly adolescent stage with his ears a little on top of his head, which in turn looked a little small compared to his very large frame!! Time will resolve all of this. Fabulous boning and short, rounded tail to finish. I thought his coat patterning was excellent, great clarity of spots in the patching, many ringed tail and all surrounded by sparkling white body colouring. The density of the coat was developing really well and it really stood away from his body. Very promising male and such hard lines to come up against the female.
NON SELF EXOTIC KITTEN FEMALE
1 BOB KNIGHTS TROUILLORD NO MATTER WHAT 70 40 15 25.7.08
What a fantastic young lady this kitten was, so rarely seen at the present and of such quality I really could have taken her home! She was just so balanced facially and with stocky, compact little body and short, round tail to finish. Her eyes were changing and I gave her the benefit of the doubt because of this. Her coat was a complete dream, thick, dense upstanding and a wonderful body colouring against her red tabby points that were also developing well. Groomed to perfection and a real pleasure to behold!!
2 GARDNERS GARCHELL LILLY 70 22 8.6.08
Pretty and attractive kitten with nicely developing head, slightly pricked ears as yet but she was teething. Round eyes with eye colour still to settle. Short, broad nose, quite wide cheeks and good bite. Cobby frame with short, rounded tail. Good boning with short legs. Her coat patterning was rather predominantly black on her back and I would have preferred slightly better patches of red and white to disperse. Her coat was developing the thick undercoat but was very well presented.
3 STEPHENSONS TRIBALIFE PUSSYCAT DOLL 70 11 21.8.08
Baby in the class and showing some baby traits up against the bigger girls! Head type still filling and developing. Round eyes with a green rim as yet. Short nose with adequate cheeks. Adequate bite and chin. Small frame with a slightly long tail. Her coat needed to develop further to give the true density and plushness required. As yet the colouring was rather cold, needing red to develop throughout. Handled well and seemed to enjoy the experience.
BLACK NEUTER MALE

Sorry to withhold on this young man of 11 months but for me he simply was not balanced facially, his ears were rather large and upright as yet. Adequate eyes for shape and colour. Short, broad nose with rather narrowing cheeks around his jaw area. Large, well fed frame that was covered in a coat that needed a lot more preparation for the show bench and I am sure with that the colouring will be better as that too was rather rusty on his bib and face and grey at the roots throughout his body.
BLUE NEUTER

Mature lad with nicely balanced head and type. Wide spaced neat ears. Round skull shape with nice large orange eyes. Short nose surrounded by fat cheeks. Good bite and chin. Cobby frame of good weight and a short tail with slightly tense end. Generally in good coat and a reasonably sound, mid blue in colour. Well shown.

Mature male of 7 with generally pleasing type. I was happy to award him BOB.

This young man looked really stylish on the day and so nearly got the BOB, just missing out slightly on maturity at the end of the day. Super top and quite neat ears. Round, copper eyes that were so expressive. Short, broad nose with wide cheeks, good bite and nice chin. Large yet cobby frame with excellent boning and a short, full tail to finish! Glorious high white coat with a few rich red patches throughout his body and limbs, full coloured tail and both colour and white to head. Groomed very well and so sweet to handle.
2 RANDALL PURRDREAMZ MADISON 12a7
Same age as the winner but just as yet not quite got the balance of Fred. Very nicely balanced young man with super top of head and smooth skull. Round eyes not quite as a strong copper colour. Short nose with wide cheeks and good mouth and chin. Large, well filled frame with very well shown coat. The cream being just a little shady and paler at the roots. Again super to handle and another very nice exhibit.

More mature exhib with nice balance overall but spoilt by the staining on his bib, I know it is hard to keep these high whites clean but the staining really detracted from his overall looks.

Such a close run thing – so nice to see this male out again and looking stunning as always.

An amazingly large mature young man – and I can remember judging him at his first kitten show!!! Very pleasing all over head and type, large upright ears with lovely tufts and tips, with nice spacing in between. Expressive slightly obliquely set large eyes. High cheek bones. Pleasing width to length balance to his head already. Slightly concave curve in profile with perpendicular line from nose tip to chin. Very strong square muzzle. Long rectangular body and tail in balance. Long, substantial limbs with round, tufted paws. Very well shown coat with super length around ruff, hind legs and on sides. Handled really well and really relaxed.

This female just screams Maine Coon at you. Everything about her was in the right place and of very good proportions, large well set ears, well tufted. Expressive large eyes slightly obliquely set. Super high cheek bones. I particularly liked the balance of her head. Slight shallow concave curve in profile with super line to her chin. Beautiful square muzzle. Long frame and tail with excellent boning and substantial, long legs. Her coat was so well presented and with the most vibrant colouring. Handled well. A most impressive cat.

Mature six year old female with overall nice head and type. Large ears that she insisted on holding rather low on her head. Expressive eyes of nice size and shape. High cheeks. Good squareness of muzzle. Shallow concave curve to nose and quite good strength of chin to make a reasonable perpendicular line. Quite good length to her body and tail. Well shown coat of good length.

Another exhibit that I have handled since kittenhood and I am pleased to have given him the PC today. Very impressive young man with very nicely balanced head and type. I have recently reported on him and have nothing much further to add. He is a very pleasing example of the breed.

Another very pleasing exhibit with a slightly shorter in the head length but nicely balanced. Ears slightly lower held than the winner. Super body and length with long well furnished tail. Substantial limbs with round tufted paws. Well shown coat that was not as clear in the patterning as the winner.

Another super exhibit who was just a little bit nervous on the day, however very nice head shape with well set large ears. High cheek bones and nice length to breadth balance. Expressive eyes that were slightly obliquely set and of great size. Shallow concave curve in profile and with nice line from nose to her chin. Good squareness of muzzle. Long body and tail with super weight. Good limbs with round paws and great tufts! Well shown coat that was showing really vibrant colouring.

A really super male, with such an open, flat expression. Super width to head with round, copper eyes. Short nose with wide cheeks. Good bite and chin. Cobby, boxy frame with short stocky legs. Short, full tail. His coat was long and generally well shown.

Very pleasing exhibit with super head and type. Excellent coloured eyes that for me could have been a shade or two bigger to really stand out. Short nose, wide cheeks. Good bite and chin. Lovely frame with excellent coloured raven black coat. Well shown.

This young man really appealed to me, super rounded top of head with well set ears with extravagant furnishings. Round eyes of nice colour developing. Wide cheeks, good bite and chin. Cobby frame of excellent weight. Short limbs and tail to finish. Long,flowing coat that was very well marked and with the correct ground colouring coming through on his tabby patches. Well shown and so sweet to handle.

A really lovely exhibit with strong head and type, well set neat ears. Round, bold eyes of good colour. Short nose with wide cheeks. Good bite and chin. Stocky, large frame of super weight. Short, full tail. His coat was very well shown and displaying super contrast with a definite over mantle of blue. Handled very well.

Sweet little exotic who still has some maturing to do. Lovely open expression with fairly neat ears set well onto his skull. Large, expressive orange eyes. Full cheeks and nice bite and chin. Compact frame with great weight, short limbs and short, rounded tail. Very high percentage of white which was immaculate and of such lovely density and plush to the touch. The blue tabby head patches were very well marked with some biscuit colouring evident, fully coloured tail and a small spot of colour to his lower limb.

Oh I really liked this young Turkish man! Such hard lines to met Firefly. Super head and type he just oozed quality. Large, well set ears with minimal colour encroaching up the base. Expressive pale amber eyes. Super head length. Still to develop further as he is only just 9 months but he is solid muscle with a super coat for both texture and colour. Congratulations on such a lovely boy!

Very pleasing exhibit with lovely head, broad muzzle and medium ears set well onto his skull. Almost round eyes of nice blue tone, Medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Nice chin tapering slightly. Nice body length and tail in proportion. Thick set legs that were medium in length. Nice long silky coat texture with good pale beige body tone. Dense seal points. His gloves were almost symmetrical with slight scalloping, the back paws had socks coering the paw and his gauntlets were wide and tapering covering ¾ of way to his hocks.
