SUPREME CAT SHOW
22ND NOVEMBER 2008
JANET TONKINSON
An honour to be asked to judge once again at The Supreme Show and there seemed to be a lovely expectant buzz about the show once again. My stewarding team were Sylvia Gibbons, Jacky Atkinson and Mary Parkinson and I owe a real debt of gratitude to these ladies who guided me through what was indeed a very busy day and full book. From my point of view we made a good team that worked well together and I hope you all enjoyed the day as much as I did, thank you ladies.
AOC SELF ORIENTAL GRAND CHAMPION MALE
A heart breakingly difficult class to judge with two of my favourite cats who were equally in the peak of condition it could have gone either way it was literally on the nod, but sadly there can only be one first.
1 UK GR CH & BOB DEBOWSKA’S IGR CH METEXA MENDLESSOHN 29c 11/8/06 big handsome oriental lilac boy with broad masculine head and large well set ears, good strength of profile, good depth of chin and level bite and bright green oriental eyes. Long body muscular and strong, good length of legs with neat paws and lovely long whip tail. Soft texture pinkie lilac toned short close coat that is sound to the roots, excellent temperament and condition.
2 CASSAR-SIMMONDS IGR CH SHADOWSQUAD INFIDELITY 29 27/2/06 again a big strong handsome male with broad masculine head and large well placed flared ears. Straight profile with good chin and bite and oriental set bright green eyes. Strong mature body well muscled and of good length with short close rich chestnut coat that is sound to the roots in excellent condition. Long slender legs with neat paws and lovely length of whip tail. He was just slightly overcome with the occasion at first but his lovely even temperament shone through.
AOC SELE ORIENTAL GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE
1 UKGR CH & BOB HAMILTON’S GR CH TRELGANDORF BURNT SIENNA 29 24/5/06 dainty stylish queen with nicely balanced head of good length, straight profile with good chin and bite and oriental set bright green eyes. Lovely length of slender body with good muscle tone, long legs, dainty oval paws and excellent length of whip tail. Rich warm chestnut coat maybe a fraction long but lies beautifully and sound to the roots, excellent temperament with a really wicked Havana expression.
2 & BOB TARBOX GR CH CHIKUAI LALIMA 37d 8/7/06 another stylish young lady and very relaxed, lovely head of good balance and large well placed flared ears, quite good strength of profile with a bump on her nose, firm chin, level bite and oriental set pale green eyes. Long slender body with really short close coat that is sound with minimal ghosting, rich bright red colour, slender legs, dainty paws and long stringy tail, again I could have wished for two firsts.
ORIENTAL LILAC PRE-CHAMPION MALE
1 CC SAXON’S TIJANMEEK THEPHANTOM 29c 1/9/07 handsome young boy just over a year and very promising, nicely balanced head with large well placed ears and straight profile, he could do with a little more chin but the bite is level and he has lovely oriental bright green eyes. Long svelte body in good condition, slender legs and neat oval paws, I would have liked another inch on his tail for complete balance. Lovely soft pinkie lilac toned coat, close lying and sound to roots if a fraction long but good condition, a really sweet natured young man enjoying his outing.
ORIENTAL FAWN CHAMPION MALE
1 GR CH & BOB HAGGAR’S CH SUSPIRIA SIMPLY SOLARUS 37r 21/4/07 super friendly lad of medium type with broad wedge and large well placed flared ears. Lovely bright green eyes just a fraction full in shape, almost straight profile with good depth of chin and level bite. Long body although I would have liked just a little more muscle tone, slender long legs with neat paws and lovely length of whip tail. Excellent fawn colour coat, soft rosy mushroom that is sound to the roots and in good condition if a fraction longer than desired. He is a super softie just desperate for attention, he’s had lessons in bribing the judge.
ORIENTAL FAWN PRE-CHAMPION FEMALE
2 1ST & CC WITHHELD BODDY’S EMERPUS LINDENLEE 37r 18/2/06 rather disappointing young lady who I felt was far too small for her age and not really in the peak of condition for such a show as the Supreme. Quite nice head shape and length with large well placed ears, oriental deep set green eyes that looked sore and the haws were up. Straight profile but quite a shallow chin and her bite is fractionally under shot. Very slender long body really light weight and lacking in substance, slender legs and dainty paws with good length of whip tail, Soft rosy mushroom coat that is sound to the roots if a fraction long. She was not a happy girl, such a pity but she should be at her peak at this age and today she was not.
ORIENTAL RED CHAMPION FEMALE
GR CH DAWE’S CH EDINGORSE CHARLOTTE 37d 15/7/04 very alert mature lady, nicely balanced head with large flared ears well placed, straight profile and reasonable depth of chin though slightly sharp in the muzzle the bite is level, oriental set clear green eyes. Slender long body, good leg length with neat oval paws and lovely whippy tail, rich red coat that is short and close lying and sound to the roots, excellent temperament and condition.
ORIENTAL CREAM OR APRICOT CHAMPION MALE
1 GR CH & BOB TARBOX CH TIJANMEEK MCLAREN 37fn23/8/07 lovely big handsome and mature looking boy very stylish. Excellent head with large well placed flared ears, oriental set pale green eyes and strong profile with good chin and level bite. Huge long powerful and muscular body with long slender legs and neat paws, and with a super length whip tail to balance. Really short close coat warm apricot in top show condition sound to the roots, a lovely boy with a wonderful temperament.
ORIENTAL CARMEL ADULT MALE
1 IC & BOB KYOMI GALAHAD 37n 5/12/07 gentle young boy of good overall style, well balanced head with large flared ears nicely set and straight profile with good depth of chin and level bite and wonderful deep green oriental eyes. Well grown and developed long muscular body, slender legs with neat oval paws and lovely long whip tail. Close lying caramel coat, lovely texture and condition if a fraction long and basically sound, excellent temperament, just a big baby still.
AOC SELF ORIENTAL GRAND PREMIER MALE
This was a really difficult class of top quality neuter boys who could all have been worthy of the award had the competition not been so keen
1UK GR PR & BOB BAXTER’S GR PR SOLARUS CATHY’S CLOWN 37r 28/7/05 an absolute darling to handle, oriental fawn boy of good overall style, lovely head with large well placed flared ears. Oriental set and shaped bright green eyes and straight profile with good chin and level bite. Long muscular body and slender legs with neat oval paws and excellent length of whip tail. Soft texture warm rosy mushroom coat in wonderful condition and sound to the roots if just a fraction long, outstanding temperament.
2 & BOB LORD’S GR PR TENAL PINK PANTHER 29c 21/9/05 lovely lilac boy with excellent head with large flared ears and straight profile with good depth of chin and level bite with wonderful bright green oriental eyes. Long firm muscular body fully mature, slender legs with neat paws and wonderful length of whip tail. Really short close coat that is a slightly darker shade of lilac but sound to the roots and in top show condition, outstanding laid back temperament.
3 WHEATLEY’S GR PR YELOPERYL THELEGAND 37d 27/9/05 very stylish red boy with lovely head and large wide based ears and good green oriental eyes with straight profile good chin and level bite. Long firm svelte body with really long legs on which he stand very tall and proud, neat paws and lovely length of whip tail. Rich bright red coat in excellent condition sound, short and close lying. He ran the first two very close but then he suddenly became quite upset but the situation, so I felt he would not cope with the next stage of the day.
4 & BOB HINCHLIFFE’S GR PR JADEVYN PHARAOH 37fn 12/9/03 stylish apricot boy with good head and large well placed flared ears, oriental set pale green eyes and straight profile with good chin and level bite. Long muscular firm body yet slender with long legs and neat paws with good length of whip tail, warm apricot coat that is really short and close lying sound to roots and in lovely condition. Good overall condition and style but he grumbled throughout and not really enjoying the experience.
5 MILLER’S IGR PR PASHTAN VALLIANT 37d 12/3/05 gentle nature red boy with quite good overall balance to his head and large flared ears, oriental deep set green eyes that his haws were up slightly and his profile is starting to dip a little, good depth of chin and level gums, and freckles on his nose and lips. Slender long muscular body, he stands quite tall on slender legs with neat paws and long whip like tail. Rich red coat that is sound to the roots if a fraction long, but the lie and condition is good.
AOC SELF ORIENTAL GRAND PREMIER FEMALE
1 UKGR WITHHELD MARSTON’S CH & GR PR STYPERSON TIGER LILY 29c 28/2/02 oriental lilac girl with quite a short head and I would have liked larger ears although the set was quite good. Rather full pale green eyes, almost straight profile with reasonable chin and level bite. Long body that needs more muscle tone and slender legs with neat paws and she really needs another inch at least on her tail. Lilac coat of quite good colour and basically sound but quite long and fluffy yet somehow sticky. She was not a very happy person at all and I felt she generally needed better preparation.

1GR PR & BOB CROOK’S PR MISHKANA CONKER THEWORLD 29 24/3/07 handsome young Havana boy lovely even wedge with large well placed flared ears and lovely deep green oriental eyes. Tiny dip in profile but good depth of chin and even bite. Svelte long body, excellent strength of muscle tone, slender legs with neat paws and long whip tail to balance. 1 GR PR HART & JAMES PR KRISTOPHE LITTLEWILLOW 29c 27/1/06 quite handsome young man with good strength of head and large well set flared ears and lovely deep green eyes if a fraction full in shape, straight profile and level bite I would have preferred a slightly deeper chin. Nice condition to his lilac coat that is a slightly darker shade of lilac but basically sound, it lies well if a fraction long, sweet natured boy in good condition but he needs to watch his waistline.
