SUPREME SHOW MS MARIA CHAPMAN 22.11.08

Thank you for the kind invitation to judge with some lovely cats. A real headache judging the 21 cats for Best of Variety Foreign Adult, with some cats of very high standard in the running. A big thank you to my stewards, Peter Williams, Amanda Lachlan & Vivienne Rice – a tiring day for them but I do appreciate all their help. Also thank you to Simon and his team for the calm atmosphere in the running of the ring – well done.

CORNISH REX IMP GR/GRAND PREMIER MALE:

A lovely class – thank you.

BOB & UK GR PC ARNOLD’S IMP GR PR PAPAVER PROMETHEUS (33 31s).

Alert lad, with good overall expression. Large ears of good shape and set, wide at base with rounding to tips. Oval eyes of good shape and set. Balanced wedge, flattening to skull curving gently at brow. Virtually straight line to nose in profile, would like a stronger chin, level bite. Slim elegant body of good weight, feel and size, slim long legs and neat small paws. Tight waves to short coat of very good texture and dense, in very good condition. Tail of good shape and length, fine and tapering. Tai is well covered, just a little harsh to the touch at base. A worried lad but handles well and poses well in pen when settled.

2. ARNOLD’S IMP GR PR PAPAVER PARIS (33 31s).

Talkative, alert lad. Ears of good shape but rather mobile today and holding slightly lower than would like, good width at base. Large eyes, tending to round some of the time. Flattening to skull curving gently at brow. Slight dip to nose line in profile, level chin but would like more depth. Lovely weight and feel to elegant body with long, slim legs and small oval paws. Superb coat with lovely tight waves, short and dense and in super condition, lovely texture. Tail of good shape being fine and tapering, coat covers, just a small area where slightly sparse and course at base, small invisible pip to end. A gentle lad, a little worried today, but handled well.

3. BOWER’S UK & IMP GR PR GREMACA MEATLOAF (33 36).

An elderly gentleman being 13.5 years old now, who was eager to come out to see us. Poses well. Ears of good set and shape with rounding to tips. Flattening to skull with rounding to brow. Good shape and expression to eyes of good size, gentle rounding to muzzle. Profile shows a virtually straight line, would like more depth to chin, still some small front teeth evident, level bite. Slim body of medium size and of good weight, slim legs and neat paws. Coat has tight waves and covers well, a little untidy now around top of hind legs and base of tail, a little flat and long on spine line. Tail is thin and tapers. A gentle lad who handles so well.

4. HUMMERSTON’S CH & GRP PR CHRISAN CAMELOTT (33 31s).

A gentle lad, interested in all around. Large ears of good shape, wide at base and does hold them well most of the time but seemed a little unsettled. Large eyes which were rather round today, muzzle showing a pinch, flattening to skull with rounding to brow. Profile shows a slight bump to nose line, would like a stronger chin, level bite. Slim, elegant body of medium size, long slim legs and neat paws. Tight waves to coat of very good texture which covers well, and is short and dense. Tail is thin in shape and tapers, slightly sparse in coat at base, but otherwise well covered and waved. A gentle, well behaved lad, a little timid but handled, in lovely condition.

CORNISH REX IMP GR/GRAND PREMIER FEMALE:

UK GR PC ARNOLD’S UK GR CH & IN GR PR PAPAVER CASSIOPEIA (33 31s).

Well proportioned girl with gentle expression. Neat head of good length with gentle rounding to muzzle. Ears of good shape and set, perhaps could be a little larger for perfection. A gentle timid lad, happier hiding in pen. Flattening to skull between large ears, with muffs, wide at base and of good set. Short wedge, showing broad strong muzzle with a whisker break. Wedge is wide at eye level with eyes of good size and oval in shape. Profile shows a stop, chin very shallow and set back, untidy teeth. Body of good weight and feel with strong slim legs and neat oval paws. Coat is regrowing at present and therefore lacking in density and waving on most of body.
