How good to be back at this super pre Christmas show that I have been fortunate to judge at since the beginning, but this time at it’s new venue although maybe the light is not quite so good the hospitality was excellent and another good entry of quality cats. Many thanks to Joan Pam Barry and all the committee for keeping faith with me and proffering the return invitations each year. My steward was Anne Clay which is always a pleasure, good company and willing hands that take great care of all the exhibits, thank you Anne see you again soon I hope.
AC ORIENTAL CHAMPION MALE
1 CASSAR-SIMMONDS IGR CH SHADOESQUAD INFIDELITY 29 M 27/2/06 big gentle Havana boy with strong masculine head and large well placed flared ears, deep green oriental eyes and straight profile with firm chin and level bite. Long firm muscular body and short close coat sound to the roots warm chestnut brown, strong long legs, neat oval paws and lovely long whip tail. Excellent temperament and condition, lovely presentation and he just takes the prize on maturity.
2 ARMITAGE’S CH CHAPELROSE OHMEOHMY 37a M 13/11/07 stylish young blue boy with an excellent temperament, lovely head with huge wide based ears, oriental set bright green eyes and strong roman profile, I would have just preferred a slightly stronger chin but the bite is level he is just inclined to be fractionally pinched in the muzzle which could still be attributed to teething at this age. Slender long svelte body and really short close coat slightly darker blue but sound to the roots, long legs, neat paws and lovely length of whip tail to balance. He was in the end my overall BIS Oriental winner, congratulations to his owner/breeder.

1 BRIDER & MACKENZIE’S PR MISHKANA MORNING MIST 29c FN 5/6/06 mature lilac queen with moderate even wedge and large well placed ears with good width between. Oriental set green eyes fractionally full and straight profile with good chin and bite. Well proportioned body length with soft texture pinkie lilac coat in excellent condition if fractionally longer than desired it is basically sound to the roots. Slender legs and neat oval paws with nice length of whip tail to balance, lovely nature well presented.

1 & BOB CASSAR-SIMMONDS IGR CH SHADOWSQUAD INFIELITY 29 M
2 SIMPSON’S GR CH NITERAP CHESTNUT BROWN 29 M 29/12/01 mature Havana boy still looking good for his age, well balanced head with large flared ears nicely set, oriental bright green eyes, his profile is just staring to dip fractionally now, good chin and level bite. Big long svelte body with warm chestnut coat, fractionally long now but then he is a working boy, not completely sound at present, it seems to vary with the time of year but excellent condition. Long legs with neat paws and lovely long whip like tail, he still has an excellent temperament that is his one constant which always makes him a pleasure to handle.
ORIENTAL CLASSIC/MACKERAL TABBY KITTEN
1 & BOB CRUDEN’S OOPSEEIDEE MAKING WAVES 41n M 16/6/08 wonderful caramel classic tabby young boy with moderate even wedge and large well placed ears with thumb prints. Oriental bright green eyes that are perhaps a fraction full and double ribbons, straight profile with scarab, firm chin and level bite and whisker spots. Three distinct lines come over the top of his head spreading out to form the butterfly wings with the centre line extending along the spine to the end of his tail. He has distinct oysters on each flank and broad classic tail rings, three broken necklaces on his chest and neck and spotted tummy, all clear caramel markings are well defined on a beige ground with virtually no agouti invasion of the pattern. Good length of firm body and long legs with neat paws with the broader classic leg bracelets and his coat is really short and close of excellent texture and condition, a charming young man who was extremely tolerant of the close inspection of his pattern, how great it is to see a classic with a pattern of this quality.
ORIENTAL BLACK NEUTER
1 & BOB DAVIES PR SATIVA HARRISON FORD 37 MN 10/1/07 sweet natured black boy who still has a slightly innocent expression for his age, medium head length and large wide based ears of quite good set, oriental green eyes and straight profile with good depth of chin and level bite. Long slender body yet of reasonable weight and dense black coat of soft slightly fluffy texture sound to the roots if a fraction long it lies well. Slender long legs with neat oval paws and lovely length of whip tail to balance, good presentation and he was later BIS Oriental Neuter congratulations.
CREAM POINT SIAMESE KITTEN
1 & BOB NELSON’S TIDLYPOO TYPHOON TOM 32c MN 26/4/08 rather shy young man of good overall size for his age with moderate even wedge and large wide based ears with good width across the top. Lovely deep blue oriental eyes and straight profile with good depth of chin and level bite and a well developed mask which is a slightly warm cream. Long body of good weight and condition and lovely short close lying coat of excellent texture although there is some tonal shading along the spine line. Slender legs of length with well matched and defined warm cream stockings and I do wonder if he may at some point prove to be apricot but at this moment in time his paw pads are definitely pink so it could have been down to the hall lighting, lovely length of whip tail to balance, nicely presented and he gained in confidence as he warmed to the task in hand.

1 CASSAR-SIMMONDS FIORDILISO CARLOS 37n M 26/8/08 gorgeous little apricot baby boy with super head and huge wide based ears, oriental green eyes and excellent strength of profile with firm chin and level bite. Slender long body with short close lying apricot coat in top condition, long legs and neat little paws with long stringy tail. He was just desperate to be cuddled and he was later BIS Oriental kitten, congratulations.

1 HARRISON’S FULLMOON BEAU-JANGLE 29c F 14/4/08 really nicely grown lilac young lady with a lovely even wedge and large well placed ears. Bright clear green oriental eyes and straight profile with firm chin and level bite. Good neck lines and long slender body with short close coat that is basically sound to the roots and lovely soft pinkie toned lilac colour. Slender long legs with neat little oval paws and excellent length of whippy tail to balance, nicely presented and gentle nature.
2 GARNER’S KITAI BLACK DAHLIA 37 F 6/8/08 pretty little black baby girl with moderate even wedge and large well placed ears, oriental set green eyes of good colour although a fraction full, almost straight profile with firm chin and bite. Neat slender little body with dense black coat sound to the roots and in lovely condition, long legs and dainty little paws with nicel length of stringy tail, a sweet little poppet neatly presented.

1 ANDERSON’S FIORDILISO EARL GREY 37a M 21/6/08 pleasing young blue boy with well balanced head and large wide based ears well set, lovely strength of profile with good chin and bite although he has a marked teething pinch at present with double incisors just at the moment, oriental set green eyes. Well grown for age with slender long body and short close blue coat that is maybe fractionally dark but sound to the roots. Slender legs and neat oval paws with lovely length of whip tail, lovely natured little boy.
2 GARNER’S KITAI BLACK DAHLIA 37 F
3 TAYLOR’S ADATESH BLACK SPARK 37 M 15/5/08 very handsome young black boy with lovely head and huge wide based ears and strong roman profile although I would have liked a deeper chin the bite meets but he has a teething pinch to his muzzle at present which probably doesn’t help, lovely oriental set green eyes. Nicely grown and muscular long slender body and super shining black coat sound to the roots, slender legs with neat oval paws, but sadly he has a small fixed deviation at the end of his lovely long tail which is the reason for his placing.

1 CRICK’S FOXYPAWS ANAXOS ANGEL 37fn F 30/5/08 darling little apricot baby girl with a lovely head and huge wide based ears and good width across the top line , oriental eyes of quite a good clear green, straight profile firm chin and level bite. Slender little body of good length with a really short close apricot coat in excellent condition, proportionate length of legs and dainty oval paws with lovely long stringy tail, she was an absolute sweetheart to handle.
2 ASHMORE’S KAMIK NYX MOON 24 M 18/08 pleasing young seal point male with good head and huge wide based ears well set and lovely deep blue oriental eyes and straight profile, good depth of chin and even bite with well developed warm seal brown mask. Long body and clear cream coat short and close lying, long legs, neat oval paws and long whip tail, well matched seal brown stockings and tail colour. Overall well grown young man for his age but unfortunately he is monorchid at the moment which was the main reason for his second placing in this class, lovely even temperament.
X2 WEAVER’S FOXYPAWS SCARLET 37d F 9/6/08 stylish little red baby girl with good head and large well placed ears, oriental green eyes and straight profile with good chin and bite. Slender body well grown for her age and gender and lovely short close coat, rich red in colour
3 DAVIES SATIVA BLUEYEDBELLE 24 F 9/5/08 quite nicely styled young lady with well balanced head and large wide based ears and straight profile with reasonable depth of chin and level bite, and bright mid blue oriental eyes, good development of mask but I felt the seal colour was slightly dark and needed a little more warmth. Slender long body with short close lying very pale cream coat in lovely condition, long legs with neat little paws and well matched stockings and tail, although I would have liked another inch on the length. Sweet natured young lady, I just felt that the overall impression was rather black and white her points need more warmth, nicely presented.

1 CASSAR-SIMMONDS FIORDILISO PRESTLEY 24a M 26/8/08 rather striking young man for his age with lovely head and huge wide based ears well set, wonderful deep blue oriental eyes and straight profile with firm little chin and even bite with well developed blue mask that is quite a good almost powder blue at this stage. Good neck lines and long body with clear almost glacial coat, short and close lying, slender long legs with neat paws and well matched slightly paler blue stockings with lovely long stringy tail to balance, excellent temperament and condition, nicely presented.
2 WATSON’S STYPERSON SUMMER MELODY 24b F 25/6/08 pretty chocolate point young queen with good balance to her head and large wide based ears that are well set and bright clear mid blue oriental eyes with straight profile and reasonable depth of chin with level bite, although she has double incisors at present and consequently is slightly sore and pinched in the muzzle with teething, nice milk chocolate mask developing. Slender neck and body lines with clear short ivory coat in lovely condition, long legs with dainty oval paws and long whip like tail. Paler milk chocolate points colour on her paws and tail, good natured and neat presentation.
3 BROOKS MIYASAMA MARCELLINA 24n F 5/8/08 sweet young caramel girl with moderate even wedge and large wide at base ears with good top line. Bright clear blue oriental eyes and straight profile with quite good depth of chin and clean bite, well developed caramel mask. Nicely grown and confident little girl with good body length and clear magnolia coat that lies well. Slender legs with neat oval paws and well matched caramel stockings and lovely long whippy tail, excellent temperament and presentation.

1 DAVIES PR SATIVA HARRISON FORD 37 MN
2 NELSON’S PR TIDLYPOO JUSTIN TYME 38d MN 25/2/06 super friendly oriental red boy, lovely head with large flared ears and pale green oriental eyes, straight profile with good chin and bite and he has several freckles on his nose and lips. Big long strong muscular body with rich red coat in excellent condition, but sadly as a tabby he has far too many pattern faults, there is lots of linkage of the spots which are quite superficial and very unevenly matched and quite a solid spine line. Long legs with neat paws and long whip tail that has a cream rather than red tip to it which rather makes me think that this boy is a self red and not a tabby though quite how you can prove that with a neuter I am lost for suggestions, good presentation and temperament.

1 TURVEY’S STYPERSON MYSTIQUE 24n MN 7/8/06 big handsome mature caramel point boy with excellent head and huge wide based ears of good set. Lovely deep blue oriental eyes and strong profile with firm chin and level bite and full caramel mask. Lovely elegant neck lines and long svelte body and short close lying and clear magnolia coat in top condition. He stands quite tall on long slender legs and neat paws with well matched caramel stockings and lovely length of whip tail to balance, just slightly tense by the time I came to him but good presentation.
2 QUEST’S MEILLAND SIMPLY RED 32a MN 20/2/06 another handsome mature boy who ran the winner quite close, nicely balanced wedge with huge wide based ears, lovely deep blue oriental eyes and straight profile with good chin and level bite and quite full rich red mask and ears. Good neck and svelte body lines with short close lying coat off white with some light tonal shading along his back, excellent condition. Standing tall on slender long legs with neat paws and paler red stockings well matched, and lovely length of whip tail to balance, lovely temperament and presentation.

1 JACKSON’S OLLIE GINGER MN 8 ½ MONTHS gorgeous ginger classic tabby semi-longhair young man with big round orange eyes that dance with mischief. He was a delight, full of fun, wonderful pattern and his coat was groomed to perfection in peak condition.

1 JACKSON’S FLORENCE TORTIE & WHITE F 5& ½ MONTHS a real naughty tortie babe, black and red with a very fetching cream blob on her nose and bright green eyes. Shown in excellent condition short hair coat, red black and white patched tortie coat. I bet there is no peace at home when these two start racing about, the Christmas tree will be under attack I don’t doubt.

1 BUCKLEY’S MC MALCOLM Ginger MN 2yrs huge big shorthair boy with super classic pattern, big orange eyes and a wonderful temperament.
2 JACKSON’S SIMBA Ginger MN 5 ½ yrs another wonderful boy SLH with classic pattern full plumed tail and wonderful temperament.
3 BURROW’S BEAR 6mths M lovely young black boy with and excellent coat and not a white hair anywhere, he reminded me of a black boy I had when I was a child.
X3 DAVIES OSCAR Ginger MN 4yrs another big solid boy in excellent condition, just a bit shy.
