White Persian Cat Club Show 2010 - Report from the Show Managers

We had our usual Friendly laid back Show Shared this year with The Long Haired Cream & Blue-Cream Association. at a nice Venue in Twyford, Berks.

GCCF allowed us to invite all Self Colours into our Show.

It was a shame that some White Breeders/Exhibitors didn’t Support us but Many Thanks to those who did.

This year we changed our Best In Show to ensure there was a Best White Exhibit also Self Colour Exhibit, & Non-Self Exhibit. Then the Household Pet Section we shared with a Best Household Pet.

We Hope to see as many of you next year at same Shared Venue.

We had another fantastic show this year, going back to back with The White Persian Cat Club. Both Clubs were excited about the show as they had both been permitted to extend the classes they could offer by providing for other colours. And there were a lovely number of exhibits on show, somewhere in the region of 60 all told with many entries coming from the new colours being offered. Not bad for a combined specialist breed Club show.

A BIG thank you is due to the two Show Managers for this combined event, Paul Asquith and Ivor and Sheila Biggs who did a marvellous job for us in putting together such an excellent show.

Another BIG thank you goes to our Judges, Mrs Marjorie Sharp, Mrs Eileen Fryer, Mrs Celia de Martino, Mrs Coral Allam and Mr Mark Pearman. Thanks also to the stewards and table workers for all their hard work throughout the day. Special thanks go to our Duty Vet, Trevor Turner and his wife Jean. It is always a pleasure to have them on board your team.

The quality of exhibits was very high with a number of cats going home with Championship awards of one sort or another.

There was a really friendly atmosphere present throughout the day and everybody appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves; with many exhibitors promising to come again next year!

Best in Show is the highlight of the day and many visitors stayed to watch, with the judging taking place on the show floor.

Best Self: Mr D & Mrs R Angus, PALCHINNO CELESTIAL SKY, Blue (3), Female

Best Non-Self: Mrs D Cooke, FIRANTY DONNATELLA, Blue Tortie & White (12 2) Female

Best Household Pet: Mrs M Howes, SUGAR AND SPICE, Tortie & White, Female

All our Best in Show winners were beautifully presented and a joy to watch being handled across the table. Congratulations to all the Best in Show Winners.

As always the Bacon Butties and other goodies on sale throughout the day went down very well with everybody, exhibitors, judges and the public alike. Thanks go to Nigel Board, and Gary & Andrew Rainbow-Ockwell for their sterling efforts in the kitchen.

A very successful Raffle was run by Isobella Bangs and Caroline Roberts adding much needed funds to both Clubs’ coffers. To all of those people who supported the Club either by donating prizes and/or buying tickets many, many thanks.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to our Show in 2011.
