Thank you to Lynda for the invitation to judge at one of my favourite shows. Lovely atmosphere always and a superb dinner. Thanks to Chris Bamford who kindly stewarded for me, her help and expertise was a great help.

BLACK SMOKE NEUTER

1PC BOB MRS E VAUGHAN’S UK GR CH PEGALMO LATEARRIVAL (6) FN 19/5/01

– Large Black Smoke with a lovely expression and nicely balanced for type. Cobby in the body and low on the legs. Large round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive orange eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full black leather. Good bite. Full cheeks, strong chin. Full black mask. Well prepared coat displaying wonderful ash white contrasts, coat a little on the short side today so displaying contrasts of two thirds ash white with one third black. The deepest intensity of colour found on the back, head, mask and legs. Full brush.

SEAL BIRMAN KITTEN

1ST BOB MR & MRS HOBSON’S TWINKLETOES JASMIN (13c1) F 16/4/08

– Seal Birman of lovely size and shape and nicely balanced for type. She stands on legs which are medium in length on short strong paws. Skull strong, broad and rounded with ears which are medium in size and spaced nicely apart. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Eyes of blue which are almost round but not bold and at the moment are two tone in colour; the deepest intensity being in the centre. Level bite. Cheeks full and round with firm chin. Well prepared coat of pale beige which is showing slight surface shading and she is developing a nice ruff. Dense matching seal points with some brindling of the tail and very slight brindling on her mask. Pure white gloves which are scalloped with socks which are medium in length. Good length to gauntlets with right gauntlet blunt rather than tapered. Tail bushy and medium in length. Sweet temperament.

SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON KITTEN MALE

1ST BOB MRS J CRAWFORD’S BLACKJACK SANDMAN (64 41ds) M 1/5/08

– Classic Red Silver Tabby Maine Coon. Body long, solid and muscular and he stands on substantial legs with large round paws. Head is medium in length with ears that are held high and spaced nicely apart. Round gold eyes that are spaced wide apart and set slightly oblique. Nose of even width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Muzzle square but chin a little weak. Coat was well prepared displaying Classic Tabby markings. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Well defined butterfly to shoulder area with oysters a little diffused due to length of coat. Good barring to legs. Coat has a pale silvery red ground colour with red markings. Nicely developed ruff and breeches. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back.

2ND MISS C WHALE’S ELMCOON FURRNANDO TORRES (64 41s) M 10/3/08

– Classic Silver Tabby Maine Coon. Body large, solid and muscular displaying the characteristic rectangular appearance. Good strong head of medium length and good breadth. Ears that are tall and large, wide at the base and spaced well apart. Gold eyes that are full and round and set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill a little with a slightly weak chin. Well prepared coat displaying good tabby markings. Black markings on a silver ground colour. M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, spotted whisker pads, thumbprints to ears. Shoulder markings forming an outline of a butterfly with oysters a little diffused due to length of coat. Well defined spine lines. Slight tarnish on the face but does not detract from the overall picture. Tail well ringed and reaching the shoulders and was well furnished.

3RD MRS S WALLACE’S OLIROSE MUSHROOM MAGEE (64 41s) M 27/4/08

– Classic Silver Tabby Maine Coon. Body long and muscular displaying the correct rectangular appearance. Head of medium length. Ears are tall and large and spaced well apart. Eyes of hazel that are full and round and set slightly oblique. Nose uniform in width with a shallow concave curve. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill with a fine muzzle at the moment. Well prepared coat displaying good tabby markings. Black markings on a silver ground colour, I would have liked the markings a denser black (for perfection). M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, spotted whisker pads, thumbprints to ears. Shoulder markings forming an outline of a butterfly with oysters to both flanks. Well defined spine lines. Slight tarnish on the face. Tail well ringed and reaching the shoulders and was well furnished.

4TH MRS S ROGERSON’S COONSEQUENCES PELUSHA (64 41s) MN 19/5/08

– Silver Tabby Maine Coon. Good length to body with head which is a little small and does not balance with his body at present. Ears are large and tall, well tufted but needing a little more space between them. Round gold eyes spaced nicely apart. Nose of even width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill out a little. Square muzzle with firm chin. Coat well-prepared, undercoat and glossy topcoat. Dense black markings on a silver ground colour. Well defined markings to head, legs and tail. Body markings diffused and back is solid. Tail well ringed and reaching the shoulders easily.

SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON KITTEN FEMALE

1ST MRS A BLADES’S ALISIKA STALIGHT EXPRESS (63 41sw) F 16/2/08

– Silver Tabby and White Maine Coon of excellent shape and size. Head medium in length with large tall ears that are set wide at the base but well apart. Eyes full and round and green in colour. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Level bite. Square muzzle, firm chin. Well prepared coat showing classic tabby markings on a silver agouti ground. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, thumbprints and spectacles. Body markings are diffused due to length of coat. She has a little amount of tarnishing on her face. Tail well ringed and at least the length of her back.

2ND MR P KILMARTIN’S NITERAP CATRAYA (64 41sw) F 23/5/08

– Silver Tabby and White baby who is all legs and ears at the moment; she has a lot of growing to do. Body medium in size and she is quite solid. Substantial legs with large well rounded paws which are tufted. Head medium in length with tall ears which are tufted set high and well apart. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Full round hazel eyes set slightly oblique. Cheeks needing to fill and muzzle very fine needs to be squarer. Chin receding a little. Level bite. Well prepared coat. Silver ground colour with good head, leg and tail markings. Body markings are diffused. White chest, feet and underparts with a white blaze to her nose. Well ringed tail which is at least the length of the body

CHOCOLATE INTERMEDIATE KITTEN

1ST BOB MR G KIELY-JONE’S ARDEEVAN CONOR DONN (15b) M 30/4/08

– Chocolate British who is well grown for his age and has a lovely temperament. Body is just a little rangy today and he is standing a little tall. Head is round with cheeks needing to fill and at the moment his muzzle is a little pronounced. Ears are rather large but are well spaced. Round orange eyes which are showing a faint green rim. Nose short broad and straight. Level bite. Coat is short, dense and crisp. It is a lovely rich shade of chocolate and is slightly unsound near the roots and showing very faint tabby markings. Tail is thick and in proportion to his body.

LILAC KITTEN MALE

2ND 1ST W/H MRS S GOODGER’S CWMDARRAN BEAU ZAM (15c) M 8/4/08

– Lilac of very good shape and size for his age. He is cobby in shape and stands on short strong legs. He has a round head with ears that are a little tall and need more width between them. Eyes are large and round, a good shade of orange but unfortunately showing a distinct green rim. Nose is short, broad and straight. Bite is level. Cheeks need to fill and he is a little muzzly at present. Coat is short, dense and crisp but is showing very well defined Tabby markings, my main reason for withholding BOB. Colour is a cold tone of lilac being more blue than pink in tone. Tail is medium in length and in proportion to his body.

LILAC KITTEN FEMALE

1ST BOB MRS KIRK’S & MRS JUHASZ’S ADATESH CHINA DOLL (15c) F 10/5/08

– Lilac of good size and shape for age. She is cobby and stands on short strong legs. Round head with full cheeks. Eyes large and round, good shade of orange showing a very slight green rim at the moment. Nose is short, broad and straight. Ears are a little tall, rounded at the tips and spaced well apart. Level bite. Firm chin. Coat dense and a little soft and long at present showing silver tipping. It is a lovely shade of lilac and has a distinct pinkish tone. Tail is thick and medium in length.

2ND MR G KIELY-JONES’S ARDEEVAN CLIONA (15c) F 30/4/08

– Lilac who is a little rangy at present but is a good weight for her age. Round head just needing cheeks to fill out at the moment. Eyes large and round, pale orange in colour and unfortunately showing a faint green rim. Nose is short, broad and straight. Ears are a little large at the moment but nicely spaced. Level bite. Firm chin. Coat short, dense and crisp. It is a rather cold tone of lilac at present but is warmer at the roots and is showing faint tabby markings. Tail is thick and medium in length.

3RD MRS L BURNELL’S BURLEAWAY ANNASTASIA (15c) F 16/5/08

– Lilac of good size and shape for age. She is cobby and stands on short strong legs. Round head just needing cheeks to fill out at the moment and she is slightly muzzly. Eyes large and round, pale orange in colour and unfortunately showing a slight green rim. Nose is short, broad and straight. Ears are a little tall at present rounded at the tips and spaced well apart. She has a canine out of alignment at the moment but bite is level. Firm chin. Coat dense and crisp but a little long. It is a very cold tone of lilac at the moment and is lacking the pinkish tone being more blue in colour and it is very unsound. Tail is medium in length and in proportion to her body.

TIPPED KITTEN

1ST BOB MR T SMITH’S TERSHEE HERMES (39) M 2/4/08

– Black Tipped. This young lady is going through the teenage stage at the moment; she is standing a little tall on the legs. Round head with good width between ears that she needs to grow into at present. Round expressive eyes that are two tone green in colour and outlined in black, the deepest intensity of colour being in the centre. Short, broad straight nose with full brick leather which is outlined in black. Level bite. I would have liked the cheeks to be rounder. Chin is a trifle weak. Coat is short, dense and crisp. Pale silvery white undercoat with the coat on the back, flanks, head, ears and tail evenly tipped with black although it is much denser along the spine. Legs are showing tipping which decreases towards the paws. Chin, stomach, chest and under tail almost white. Tail in proportion to body, thicker at the base with a rounded tip.

AC PERSIAN JUNIOR ADULT

1ST MRS M CHARLAN’S ALGERNON MAKEMEBLUSH (4) F 30/10/07

– Red of good shape and size. Very well balanced for type. Round head with smooth skull. Neat ears that are spaced well apart. Round copper eyes. Short snub nose with good stop and full leather. Good bite. Full fat cheeks firm chin. Well prepared rich red coat showing the very faintest of tabby markings. Dinky tail. Lovely young lady.

2ND MRS M DUNLOP’S PIPPAKITS HARRY WEBB (70 12a7t) M 1/9/07

– Cream Tabby and White Exotic. Cobby in shape and standing low on the legs. Round head with good width between ears that he needs to grow into. Round copper eyes. Short broad nose with good break and full leather. Good bite. Full cheeks firm chin. Cream is a little hot at present. White whisker pads, chest and underparts. Coat is dense, plush and stands away from the body. Tail well ringed and in proportion.

1ST MS MORTON & MR DERBYSHIRE’S ROSEMEDE KALINA (13b1) F 1/5/08

– Seal Colourpoint of lovely type and a real sweetie. I would have liked her to be a little bigger for her age but she is cobby in shape and stands low on the legs. Round head with good width between neat ears. Round expressive blue eyes. Short snub nose with good stop and full leather. Good bite. Full fat cheeks. Points colour is dense seal. Coat expertly prepared and is full and flowing. Dinky tail to finish her off. A very nice exhibit.

2ND MRS S MACKERETH’S PIPPAKITS SCARLET RIBBONS (70 9) F 3/5/08

– - Red classic tabby exotic. Pleasing Persian type. Cobby body standing on short legs. Round head with good width between ears that she needs to grow into. Round eyes of a good copper colour. Short broad nose with good break and full brick leather. Level bite. Full cheeks, strong chin. Coat dense and plush, soft in texture and standing away from the body. Warm red ground colour with rich red markings. M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, spotted whisker pads, thumb prints to ears with unbroken necklaces to neck and upper chest. Shoulder markings forming an outline of a butterfly with oysters to both flanks. On the back an unbroken line runs down the spine from the butterfly to the tail with a stripe on either side of this and running parallel to it. Short well ringed tail in proportion to body.

– Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon. Body is long, solid and muscular. He stands on substantial legs on large round tufted paws. Head medium in length with large tall ears that are well spaced and well tufted. Eyes round, full and set slightly oblique. Nose of even width with slight shallow curve. Good bite. Square muzzle, firm chin. Cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones. Beautifully prepared coat of a warm brown showing dense black tabby markings which where a little diffused on the day. Ruff and breeches well developed. White to feet, legs, underparts and white chest. Long well ringed tail just reaching the shoulders

2ND MRS KIRK & MRS JUHASZ’S NOYNAROCK CATALINA (67 31ts) F 7/11/07

– Silver Tabby and White NFC whom I judged last as a kitten and she has come on really well. Body is long and she has good boning. She stands high on the legs with her back legs longer than front on large round paws. Head is triangular and she has a lovely long straight profile. Her head is slightly rounded and her ears are large with good width at the base and follow the line of the head down to the chin. Eyes are large, well opened, obliquely set and slightly deep set. Good bite. Coat is semi long and she has a woolly undercoat that has a coarser topcoat. Full ruff and knickerbockers. Tail is long and bushy and reaches the shoulder blades easily.

1ST MISS M DOREY’S NORACOON CHERRY BAKEWELL (64 31et) FN 1/10/06

– Tortie Tabby and White Maine Coon. Nicely balanced for type and size. Solid and muscular with good breadth to chest standing on substantial legs with large round well tufted paws. Head is medium in length with large tall ears that are well tufted and spaced nicely apart. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones. Level bite. Square muzzle. Green eyes which are full and round spaced well apart and set slightly oblique. Well presented coat with full ruff and breeches. Brilliant copper brown ground overlaid with red. Tabby markings on body are diffused due to length of coat. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to the ears. Barring to legs. White chin, feet, underparts and chest. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back.

2ND MRS J HAWORTH’S GR CH & PR POLLYWOFFLES BLUE MIST (66a) FN 30/4/00

– Blue Colourpointed Ragdoll who has a wonderfully laid back temperament. Body is long and muscular and she stands on legs which are medium in length on large round paws. Lovely broad head with flat plane. Ears are medium in size, set wide apart and tilted slightly forward. Large deep blue eyes set slightly oblique. Nose of medium length with a gentle dip and slightly retrousse at the tip. Good bite. Muzzle round, firm chin. Well-prepared coat showing surface shading but clearing well at the roots. Points colour is a medium shade of blue; she has a small tummy spot. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders.

AC SELKIRK REX KITTEN

1ST MRS S LEE’S SEWWSEW COTTONTAIL (79s15) M 14/4/08

– A lovely Black kitten of excellent size and substance. Body strong and muscular standing on sturdy legs. Head was broad and well rounded. Ears are medium in size and well set. Round expressive eyes set wide apart. Broad straight nose showing a downward slant in profile. Good bite. Lovely rounded cheeks with padded whisker pads which I thought needed a little more padding at present. Lovely dense coat of fairly uniform length. Coat is very well rexed around the neck, tail and underparts. It is standing away from the body and had random and unstructured waves. Tail balances with body.

AC BRITISH NEUTER MALE

1ST MISS CREATON & MISS WALKER’S CRINKLES JACK FROST (79L15d) MN 2/5/07

– Long Haired Red Selkirk Rex whom I have met on more than one occasion. This boy has a wonderful temperament and is a good shape and size. Body is cobby with a solid, muscular feel to him. Head is round with a slightly curved top of head. Ears are medium in size, have curly furnishings and are spaced well apart. Eyes are large and round and also spaced well apart. Nose is short broad and straight with a downward slant. Good bite. Muzzle is medium in width and he has well padded whisker pads. Coat is thick and dense unstructured and very well rexed. Tail is thick and medium in length.

2ND MS DALBY & MISS SHEEN’S INT GR CH & PR DONJELAMI SPECIAL BREW (17) MN 28/9/02

– Cream who is a good shape and size and has nicely balanced British type. His body is cobby and he stands on short strong legs. Large round head with good width between neat rounded ears. Large round copper eyes. Nose is short, broad and straight with full pink leather. Level bite. Cheeks are nicely rounded with firm chin. Cream coat that is pale in tone and almost sound. Coat is dense, short and crisp. He has very faint tabby markings at the moment. Tail is medium in length with rounded tip.

3RD MRS D HIRST’S PR VALPETINA FRANKSDREAM (16) MN 6/1/05

– British Blue of good size and shape. He is cobby in type, well balanced, powerful and showing good depth of body. Round head with ears that are a little tall but spaced nicely apart. Large round pale orange eyes. Short straight broad nose. Level bite. Muzzle is rather pinched. Firm chin. Coat is short dense and crisp, very dark blue in shade and sound to the roots. Tail thick and medium in length.
