Thanks to Lynda and the Committee for the invitation to judge, I very enjoyable day meeting some lovely cats.
Original Foreign Grand Champion, Female: Four cats entered.
GCC. KAYE’S CH SITHEE LILLIBULLERO. Russian Blue. 8/12/05. Attractive young lady, looking younger than her age indicates and of good overall type. Long slender graceful body, lithe and of good weight, just a little lean in the flanks and along the length of the spine, however feeling firm and well muscled; slender elegant well shaped limbs end in neat oval paws in proportion. Head shows short wedge with good breadth to muzzle and prominent whisker pads; flat top between tall ears which are broad at the base and of good shape with pointed tips, set vertical to the head. Vivid green almond shaped eyes are of very good size and set wide apart and at a slight slant to give typical expression. Level brow, angle over top of eyes with profile line to nose, which has shallow concave dip, chin is level and of fairly good depth. Coat is fine, dense and double, lies close with good plush velvety texture and in superb condition with gleaming sheen. Medium blue grey, even in tone with distinct silvery sheen; a few faint ghost rings neat end of tail. Tail tapers evenly to rounded tip and is of medium length to balance. Slightly nervous at first, but relaxed with handling, a very sweet natured girl.
Res GCC. BRAMLEY’S CH CHARNFIELD KIRIAKI. Brown Tabby & White Devon Rex. 20/10/05. Very attractive girl, well balanced, mature and of good overall type. Long slender elegant body is of very good weight and substance, feeling firm and muscular with gently rounded chest and slender elegant well shaped legs ending in neat oval paws in proportion. Head forms short broad wedge with high cheek-bones and good bread to quite strong blunt muzzle, distinct whisker break and short curled whiskers. Large wide based ears are of good shape and spaced well apart and set quite low, modest muffs and tiny tufts at tips. Large lustrous rounded almond shape eyes are set wide apart and at a slight slant to give typical “wicked” expression. Flat skull curves forward at brow, fairly good stop, short straight nose, chin is just level and of fairly good depth. Well covered with dense silky coat showing good curl to hairs giving regular neat waves one can feel along back, sides and on flanks, slightly straight along spine-line, very slight waves on back of neck, better defined waves across shoulders, rippled down chest and legs, very loose waves on tail, soft down on tummy. Tail tapers evenly to finer rounded tip and length just balances. Relaxed confident girl, very good natured and easy to judge.
Burmese Grand Champion, Female: Four girls of good quality entered.
GCC. WILLIAMS’ CH MOLYNMEUX BEUXTIFUL. 19/11/05. Mature and very attractive girl of good type. Slender well filled body is of very good weight and substance, just balanced today, but she needs to be careful not to put on any more weight or she will tend towards plumpness, feeling firm and well muscled with straight back, correctly rounded chest and slender elegant well shaped legs ending in neat oval feet. Head shows short wide wedge, quite blunt in the muzzle, with slightly rounded top between medium large well spaced ears of good shape. Lovely large lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes are of very good shape and set wide apart to give typical Burmese expression. Very gentle curve to brow, very good break, short straight nose and level chin is of fairly good depth. Fine close lying coat is of medium length and smooth satin-like texture, in beautiful condition with a gleaming shine. Warm pale to medium dove grey is even in tone with just a hint of a pinkish cast visible in hall light and very attractive frosted effect to head, ears and limbs. Tail tapers evenly to “paintbrush” tip and is just a little short to balance full body. Wonderful temperament, very confident, talkative and affectionate, she showed herself to full advantage and won me over in a strong class.
Res GCC. TEGG’S GR CH BLOOMERS BARONESS BELCHAMP. 17/6/06. Mature attractive girl, well balanced and of good overall type. Slender well filled body is of very good weight and substance, feeling firm and well muscled with straight back, gently rounded chest and well shaped legs ending in neat oval paws in proportion. Head shows short wide wedge, quite blunt in the muzzle with slightly rounded top between well spaced medium size ears, broad at the base and of good shape. Lustrous large palish yellow chartreuse eyes are of very good shape and set wide to give typical Burmese expression. Very slight curve to brow, very good break, short nose and leather falls away at very tip, chin is level and of fairly good depth. Fine, medium length coat is very close lying with satin smooth texture, in superb condition with a glossy shine. Warm medium to slightly dark dove grey is mixed with rich slightly warm toned medium cream; very faint well broken necklace and showing very faint smudged mark on each knee. Tail tapers evenly to “paintbrush” tip and is a fraction short to balance. Calm, relaxed and very good natured.
Egyptian Mau Kitten, Male: Two boys entered.
1 & BOB. BATESON’S NEWKINGDOM ULYSSES. Silver. 22/4/08. Handsome young man of good overall type, well grown for six months, he has improved and developed since I last judged him. Long slender elegant body is of very good size and weight, feeling firm and well muscled with gently rounded chest and slender elegant well shaped legs ending in neat rounded paws in proportion. Head shows medium wedge with gently rounded contours, good breadth to gently rounded muzzle and uniform width to nose. Well spaced medium ears are broad at the base, cupped and of good shape. Large lustrous eyes are shaped like rounded almonds and set wide apart under straight brows to give typical “worried” expression; colour is gooseberry green around pupils with amber cast to outer iris. Very gentle curve to brow, slight dip in profile line to nose, chin is level and of reasonably good depth. Fine and quite dense coat of medium length coat lies close to the body, resilience coming in nicely and of good silky texture, in superb condition with a glossy shine. Pattern of dark charcoal spots is evenly distributed and contrasts well against a clear silver agouti ground; spine line is a little solid as yet, well broken double necklace, bars and spots on legs, broken rings along tail. “M” and complex scarab on forehead, lines over head beak into rows of small spots, attractive mascara effect to eyes surrounded by light spectacles, well defined pencilling on cheeks. Tail tapers evenly to finer rounded tip and almost balances. Alert, lively and very friendly, a very promising boy.
2. LAMB’S GENIEMAU NARUTO. Bronze. 9/7/08. Handsome baby boy of good size and weight for three and a half months - a really cutie and of very pleasing type. Slender elegant body is nicely balanced and feels firm and well muscled, gently rounded chest and elegant slender well shaped legs ending in neat rounded feet in proportion. Head forms medium wedge with gently rounded muzzle of good breadth and uniform width to nose. Medium size ears are broad at the base, cupped and of good shape and spaced well apart to continue the line of the wedge. Expressive large rounded almond-shaped eyes are set wide apart under level brows; gooseberry green colour has a distinct amber cast at present. Very gentle curve to brow, slight dip in profile line to nose, chin is level and of reasonably good depth. Close lying coat is fine and of medium length, good silky smooth texture and good resilience for such a young kitten, in super condition with a gleaming sheen. Pattern of rich warm dark brown spots is evenly distributed and contrasts well against pale golden brown agouti ground, which is a little cool in tone on body and limbs, but warmer and richer on ears, head, neck, chest and under-parts; a few linked spots on sides near shoulders, spine-line beginning to break, spots and broken bracelets on legs, broken rings on tail, well broken necklace. “M” and complex scarab on forehead, attractive mascara effect to eyes surrounded by lighter spectacles, defined pencilling on cheeks. Tail tapers to finer rounded tip and balances. Very talkative boy, slightly nervous out but relaxed and very friendly in his pen.
Egyptian Mau Kitten, Female: Three well matched kittens present.
1. KNIGHT’S MAUOLOGY SERENITY. Silver. 8/4/08. Well grown and attractive young lady of very good size and weight for six and a half months; showing good overall type. Slender long body is well filled and of very good substance, feeling firm and well muscled with gently rounded chest and elegant slender well shaped legs ending in neat rounded paws in proportion. Head forms medium wedge with gently rounded contours and good breadth to muzzle, nose is of uniform. Well spaced medium large size ears are broad at the base, cupped and of good shape with moderately pointed tips. Large lustrous eyes are shaped like rounded almonds and set wide apart under straight brows; gooseberry green in colour around the pupil with yellow cast to outer iris. Very slight curve to brow, slight dip in profile line to nose which has merest hint of a bump; chin is level and of fairly good depth. Coat is fine and of medium length, lying very close lying to the body, silky smooth texture and quite dense and resilient considering age. Pattern of many defined small black spots are well distributed and contrast sharply against a sparkling silver ground, spine line is a little solid at present on lower back, necklace is just broken, broken bracelets and spots on legs and broken rings on tail. “M” and complex scarab on forehead, lines over head, attractive mascara effect to eyes surrounded by light spectacles, defined pencilling on cheeks. Tail is of good shape and length just balances. Affectionate, talkative and very relaxed and sweet natured.
2. MORTON & HAGLAND’S NEWKINGDOM JASMINE. Silver. 22/4/08. Attractive girl, sister to silver boy in class above and of very pleasing type, she ran the winner close in this class. Slender long body is of good size and weight for six months, firm and well muscled with gently rounded chest and elegant slender shapely legs ending in neat rounded paws in proportion. Head shows medium wedge with gently rounded contours, good breadth to muzzle and uniform width to nose. Well spaced medium large broad based ears are cupped and of good shape. Large lustrous eyes are shaped like rounded almonds and set wide apart under level brows, slightly gooseberry green colour around pupil, yellow cast to rest of iris. Very gentle curve to brow, slight dip in profile line to nose, chin is level and of fairly good depth. Fine close lying coat is of medium length and feels silky with dense resilient texture developing, in super condition with a gleaming shine. Pattern of paler charcoal grey spots are well spaced against a clear almost sparkling silver agouti ground, spine line is breaking up nicely, bars and spots on legs and rings on tail, well broken necklace, “M” and scarab on forehead, mascara effect to eyes and light spectacles, faint pencilling on face. Tail tapers evenly to finer tip and just balances. Calm, good natured and very relaxed.
3. MORTON & HAGLAND’S NEWKINGDOM POPPY. Silver. 22/4/08. Pretty girl, litter sister of the girl above and like her of very pleasing type, but not so well grown though of acceptable size for her age and good weight for size. Long slender elegant body is firm and well muscled with gently rounded chest and slender elegant shapely limbs ending in neat rounded paws in proportion. Head shows gently rounded contours to medium wedge, good breadth to muzzle and uniform width to nose. Ears are of medium size and good shape, cupped and spaced well apart. Large lustrous rounded almond shaped eyes are set wide apart under level brows to give typical expression when she is fully relaxed, she can tend to round them slightly; colour is gooseberry green with distinct amber cast at present. Very gently curve to brow, very slight dip in profile line to nose; chin is just level and or reasonably good depth. Fine and very close lying coat of medium length is silky smooth in texture, but lacks density and resilience as yet, in very good condition with a gleaming shine. Well defined pattern of dark charcoal grey spots contrasts against clear silver agouti ground, spine line is rather solid at present, double necklace is just broken, broken bracelets and spots on legs and broken rings on tail; “M” and complex scarab on brow, attractive mascara effect to eyes surrounded by light spectacles, defined pencilling on face. Tail is of good shape and almost balances. A little nervous out on the table, relaxed and good natured back in her bed.
Devon Rex Neuter, Male: Two cats entered.
1 PC & BOB. HALL’S JONSCOTT ZAZU. Blue Smoke & White. 16/9/07. Large handsome boy of very pleasing type. Long slender body is of very good weight and substance, firm and muscular with straight back, gently rounded chest and slender shapely legs ending in compact oval paws in proportion. Head shows short broad wedge with good high cheeks and breadth to quite strong muzzle with defined whisker break and curled whiskers and eye-brows. Well spaced quite large ears are broad at the base and of good shape, could be set a touch lower for perfection, very modest muffs and tiny tufts. Large almond shaped eyes are set wide apart and at a slight slant to give typical expression. Flat skull curves forward to brow, good stop, chin recedes slightly and needs more depth. Well covered with fine silky coat, fairly good density overall and with quite good curl to hairs giving regular shallow waves on back, sides and flanks, chairs are almost straight along spine-line, very slight curl to hairs on lower back, slight ripples down legs, better rexing down chest, fine down on throat and tummy; very loose waves on tail and a some harsh guard hairs too. Tail is of good shape, tapering to finer end and almost balances. Calm, confident boy, who showed well.
2. WESTOBY’S DANCING JACOB TALLI. Black Smoke. 2/12/02. Another large lad, unfortunately he was very unhappy and unwilling to be handled other than a quick and cursory feel. Body is long and very well filled, almost plump, heavy and substantial and looking rather unbalanced; gently rounded chest and slender shapely legs ending in compact oval paws in proportion. Head shows short broad wedge with width to high cheeks, muzzle is a little pointed and of quite good breadth with distinct whisker break and long curled whiskers. I was unable to check is bite. Well spaced medium ears are broad at the base and of good shape, but not set low enough, slight muffs and tiny tufts at tips. Expressive oval eyes are of good size and set wide apart and at a very slight slant. Flat skull curves forward at brow, quite good stop, chin recedes and is rather shallow. Well covered with fine, quite silky coat, very little curl to hairs giving plush texture on back, sides and flanks, also plush across shoulders, very slight rexing on neck and lower chest, fine down on throat and upper chest, very slight ripples down legs, almost straight on tail. I could not check his under-parts. Tail is of good shape and short to balance. A very sulky and grumpy boy, very difficult to handle.
Asian Tabby Neuter, Female: One cat entered.
1 PC & BOB. Imp GR CH LOHR DAYDREAM BELIEVER. Chocolate Ticked Tabby with BCR. 23/6/00. Mature and very attractive lady with a charming disposition and showing good type. Slender balanced body is of very good weight and substance, feeling firm and muscular with straight6 back, correctly rounded chest and slender well shaped legs ending in neat oval paws in proportion. Head forms short wide wedge, blunt in the muzzle with slightly rounded top between well spaced neat medium size ears, broad at the base and of good shape. Large lustrous pale chartreuse eyes are of very good shape and set wide apart to give super Burmese expression. Very slight curve to brow, very good break, short straight nose, chin is level and of fairly good depth. Medium length coat is fine and close lying with a smooth satiny texture, in superb condition and displaying a gleaming sheen. Pattern of warm rich medium milk chocolate ticking is evenly distributed over warm pale beige ground with two bands of ticking clearly visible giving glittering effect typical of a good ticked tabby, slight spine line, faint well broken necklace, clear of marks on legs, solid chocolate tip to tail; “M” and scarab on forehead, attractive mascara effect to eyes surrounded by lighter spectacles, well defined pencilling on cheeks, faint “thumb-print” marks on backs of her ears. Tail tapers evenly to “paintbrush” tip and is a touch short to balance. Very friendly girl, confident and full of purrs. She later went on to win Best Foreign Neuter.
A V Foreign Not Having Won a CC: Seven cats entered.
1. HOLT & HIGGINS’S NEMOREZ YOUTAKEMYBREATHAWAY. Female Black Shaded Silver Asian. 23/4/06. Attractive well balanced girl, mature and of good overall type. Slender well filled body is of very good weight, feeling firm and well muscled with level back, correctly rounded chest and slender well shaped legs ending in neat oval paws in proportion. Head forms short wide wedge with slightly rounded top between well spaced medium size ears are broad at the base and of good shape. Lustrous large rich amber yellow eyes are of very good shape and set wide apart to give typical Burmese expression. Very gentle curve to brow, very good break, short straight nose and level chin of fairly good depth. Medium length coat is a touch long on the back, but lies close to the body, fine and satiny in texture and in super condition displaying a glossy shine. Mantle of jet black shading of light to medium intensity is evenly distributed over clear sparkling silver base, several short narrow bars on forelegs and a few smudged bars on knees; “M” and skullcap on forehead, attractive mascara effect to eyes surrounded by silver spectacles, defined pencilling on cheeks. Tail tapers evenly to “paintbrush” tip and is a touch short to balance. Talkative girl, very good natured and confident.
2. BATESON’S MAULLENIUM’S ZADOK. Male Silver Egyptian Mau. 15/4/07. Large handsome boy, mature and of pleasing type. Long slender graceful body is of very good weight, firm and muscular with good under-lying bone-structure, level back, gently rounded chest and slender elegant shapely limbs ending in compact rounded paws in proportion. Head shows modified wedge, a touch fine across gently rounded muzzle with uniform width to nose. Well spaced medium size ears are broad at the base and of good shape. Large expressive rounded almond shaped eyes are set wide apart under level brows, giving correct expression when he is fully relaxed; colour is gooseberry green with a very slight yellow cast to outer edge of iris. Very slight curve to brow, slight dip in profile line to nose, chin is just level and of reasonably good depth. Close lying coat is fine and smooth and quite resilient in texture, in very good condition with a healthy shine. Patter of charcoal grey spots is evenly distributed and contrasts against a clear silver base, spine line is breaking up, well broken double necklace, broken bracelets and spots on legs broken rings on tail; “M” and complex scarab on forehead, mascara effect to eyes surrounded by light spectacles, fairly faint barring on cheeks. Showing a hint of tarnishing around muzzle and on tips of ear-backs. Tail is of good shape and almost balances. A little unhappy out of his pen where he could see other cats, better back in his bed and basically good tempered.

2. WILLIAMS-ELLISS’S UK GR CH SERENNOL DMITRI. Male Russian Blue. 27/4/00. Large handsome lad, mature and of very pleasing type. Long slender body is of very good weight, graceful with medium foreign boning and feeling firm and muscular although just a touch lean along spine; elegant slender legs are well shaped and end in compact oval paws in proportion. Head shows short wedge with good breadth to muzzle and prominent whisker pads; well developed jowls. Medium large broad base ears are of good shape with flat top of head between, tall with pointed tips and held correctly vertical to his head when he is fully alert, he can drop them a touch low at times (he was very sleepy today). Expressive almond-shaped eyes are of very good size and set wide apart and at a slight slant, colour is mid green with slight yellow cast to outer edge of pupils. In profile has level brow forming correct angle over top of eyes with profile line to nose, which shows a slight dip; chin is level and of fairly good depth. Double coat is fine and of medium length, close, dense and plush in texture except on lower back where it is a little dry and harsh, in very good condition with a healthy sheen. Even medium to slightly dark blue grey with good silvery sheen, a few ghost rings on tail. Tail tapers evenly to rounded tip and of medium length, just a fraction short to balance. Very sleepy and relaxed and rather reluctant to open his eyes at first, very good natured boy.
3. HALLIGAN & HALLIGAN’S CH BRAMBLEWOOD CASPAJACK. Male Brown Spotted Bengal. 7/8/07.

1. AGGETT’S MAGICAL FROG PRINCE. Male Blue Tabby Point & White Devon Rex. 25/6/08. Handsome baby boy of good size and weight for twelve weeks and showing very promising type. Slender elegant body is firm and well muscled with gently rounded chest and well shaped slender legs ending in neat oval paws in proportion. Head forms short broad wedge with good high cheeks and blunt strong muzzle of very good breadth with defined whisker break and stubby whiskers. Lovely large wide based ears are of good shape, spaced well apart and set quite low, appearing a touch to big for his face at present but should look really good when he grows into them, slight muffs and tiny tufts at tips. Large lustrous rounded almond shaped eyes are set wide apart and at a slight slant to give typical expression. Flat skull curves forward to brow, good stop, short straight nose, chin recedes very slightly and is of reasonably good depth. Soft fine down on body, head, neck and tummy, gentle curl to longer fine silky hairs gives regular ripples down legs, chest and on flanks, loose waves along tail. Tail tapers evenly to finer tip and just balances. Delightful temperament, very playful and sweet natured.
2. SWAN’S AFFECTIONATE SIGNOR MARCEL. Male Brown Spotted Bengal. 26/4/08. Very handsome boy of very pleasing type, developing well and of good size and weight for almost six months. Slender long body is firm, lithe and well muscled, level back, gently rounded chest and slender shapely legs ending in compact rounded paws in proportion. Head shows short broad wedge with good width to gently rounded muzzle, fairly broad nose and slightly puffed pads. Well spaced medium ears are broad at the base and of good shape. Large lustrous rich golden yellow eyes are almond-shaped and set wide apart and at a slight slant to give pleasing expression. Gentle curve to brow, gentle concave curve to profile line to nose, chin is level and of fairly good depth. Close-lying fine silky smooth coat is quite dense for age with resilient texture developing nicely, in superb condition with a glossy shine. Pattern of large spots formed by rich seal brown outer ring with warm medium brown centre, spots are evenly distributed and contrast well against rich warm golden toned ground, double necklace is broken, broken bracelets and spots on legs and broken rings on tail, very attractive facial markings with clear “M” and scarab, mascara and specs, and defined pencilling and chin strap, ground colour is richer and brighter in tone on face, chest and under-parts. Tail is of good shape and medium length to balance. Very upset by cat next door, not a happy bunny today.

1. MOORE’S DULCAMARA PETRONELLA. 4/7/08. Pretty baby girl of good overall type. Slender body is of very good size and weight for just under four months, feeling firm and well muscled with straight back, gently rounded chest and slim well shaped legs ending in dainty oval paws in proportion. Head forms short wide wedge with gently rounded top between well spaced medium large broad based ears of good shape. Large lustrous rich amber yellow eyes are of very good shape and set wide apart to give typical expression. Very gently curve to brow, very good break, short straight nose and level chin of fairly good depth. Close lying coat is of medium length, fine, but just slightly soft and kittenish in texture at present, in super condition with a healthy sheen. Warm even pale to medium dove grey, very slight pinkish cast just discernable in hall light, good frosted effect to head, ears and limbs. Tail tapers to finer rounded tip and is a fraction short to balance. Affectionate, playful and very sweet natured.
2. RIDDLE’S CATAMARIAN BACCARAT. 2/4/08. Attractive Brown girl, developing well and of very pleasing type. Slender long well filled body is of very good weight, firm and well muscled with straight back, gently rounded chest and slender well shaped legs ending in neat oval paws in proportion. Head shows short wide wedge with slightly rounded top between well spaced medium large broad based ears of good shape. Large expressive yellow chartreuse eyes are of very good shape and set wide apart. Very gentle curve to brow, very good break, nose leather falls away at tip, chin is level and of fairly good depth. Medium length to coat of fine satiny texture, close lying and in super condition with a glossy shine. Warm rich even sable brown. Tail tapers evenly to “paintbrush” tip and is a touch short to balance. Calm, slightly sleep girl, very sweet natured.
