GWYNEDD CAT CLUB JUDGE – Mrs B Prowse 17/7/2010

Thank you to Marie and Joan for the invitation to judge once again in Wales. I had a lovely day, handled some beautiful cats and had a lovely lunch. What more could anybody ask for? Oh yes, thank you to Sonia Hacking, as always a good companion, keeps me in line and handles the cats very well. Look forwards to the next time Sonia.

 I GRPC MR J COX’S GR PR SSAFASEC DAGWOOD BUMSTEAD 95) MN 21/6/07 

Cream of good shape size. He is much too pretty to be a boy! He is cobby and stands on short fat legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop. Full cheeks firm chin. Coat well prepared and a good shade of cream, it is a little unsound at the moment. Tail in proportion to his body.

 GR CC MRS P MALLABONE’S CH FINCHFIELD SGT PEPPER (70 30 7) M 6/4/09

 Black Silver Spotted Exotic whom I last judged as a kitten, I liked him then and I like him now! Really chunky young man who is cobby in shape and stands on short fat legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short snub nose with good stop and full leather. Level bite. Full cheeks firm chin. Coat is well prepared, dense, plush and standing away from the body. His spots are oval in shape and numerous. Coat is silver with dense black markings. Tail well ringed and in proportion to his body.

RES GR CC MISS V WYATT’S CH RISINGMOON HALF-NELSON (70 9) M 15/4/09 

Red Tabby Exotic of well balanced Persian type. Cobby in shape and standing low on short legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full leather. Good bite. Full fat cheeks, strong chin. Dense plush coat of a rich red with deeper red tabby markings that show a clear butterfly, oysters to flanks and spine lines. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Tail in proportion to body. Just felt head type was a little more mature on the other boy today.

GR CC MRS A McENTEE’S CH ZENDIQUE VIVIENEE WESTWOOD (70 12a1t) F 2/7/09

 Brown Tabby and White Exotic who has lovely balanced Persian type. Lovely female of excellent shape and size whose body is cobby in shape standing on legs which are short, thick and strong. Large round head with very good width between neat ears. Large round expressive orange eyes. Short snub nose with good stop and full leather. Good bite. Full fat cheeks and strong chin. Coat is dense, plush and soft and stands well away from her body. She has a white chevron on her face, white underparts and feet. Body shows well defined Tabby markings. Tail short and well ringed.

 Red and White Bi colour who is cobby in shape and stands low on his legs. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round orange eyes. Short snub nose with good stop and full pink leather. Bite slightly undershot. Full cheeks firm chin. Well prepared full flowing coat of a rich red and sparkling white. Body is nicely patched. Face showing both red and white. Tail fully coloured and in proportion to his body.

I GR CC MESSRS MLYNEK & HAYWARD’S GR CH CONANIMA SNOWDRIFT (13c2) M 19/3/09

 Blue Point Birman of good shape and size and lovely well balanced Birman type. Skull is broad and rounded with good width between ears that are medium in size. Almost round deep blue eyes. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Level bite. Rounded cheeks which are full. Coat well prepared, silken in texture with ruff framing his face. Pure white gloves which are scalloped with socks that cover the entire back paws. Good length to gauntlets. Points are blue-grey in colour and all matching. Tail bushy and medium in length.

RES I GRCC MR & MRS ALLEN’S GR CH LALOLA MISTER DARCY (13c14) M 11/6/08 

Lilac Tabby Point Birman. Lovely build and shape. Skull strong, broad and rounded. Medium sized ears that are spaced nicely apart. Almost round eyes of blue. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Level bite. Cheeks nicely rounded. Symmetrical gloves and socks. Good length to gauntlets. Well prepared coat of magnolia. Points, lilac markings on a pale beige agouti ground. Well defined Tabby markings for this colour. Stripes to legs and rings to tail. He was not at all happy today and did not handle too well.

GR CC MRS L GRANT’S CH NOYNAROCK MIKA (67 31ft) M 15/8/07

 Cream Tabby and White Norwegian Forest who has matured well since I last saw him. He is large and heavy boned. Body is long and muscular and he stands high on the legs with the back legs longer than the front ones. Triangular head with long straight profile. Forehead is slightly rounded. Chin firm. Ears have good width at the base and are almost medium in size. Eyes oval and set obliquely. Good bite. Well prepared coat showing the desired woolly undercoat which is covered by a coarser overcoat. He has a full ruff and knickerbockers. Tail long and bushy, easily reaching the shoulders.

RES GRCC MR & MRS BULLIVANT’S CH BARANCHRI HORUS (63e) M 21/4/09

Fawn Somali who is well balanced with a firm, lithe body. Head is a moderate wedge showing lovely gentle contours. Ears set wide apart but not low, broad at the base and proportionately large. They are well tufted. Eyes are amber, large, almond shaped, set slightly oblique and well apart. They are accentuated by a dark surround and encircled by lighter spectacles. A shallow indentation forms the muzzle and there is a slight nose break in profile. Good bite. Coat is a warm powdery fawn made up of a pale oatmeal undercoat ticked with fawn. Chest, belly, under tail, inside of legs and breeches is a pale mushroom. Ticking is fawn and it is developing on the body but is well defined along the spine and tail. Tail long and fully furnished.

GR CC MR & MRS WILLIAMS’S CH EISERBLEW BELLE DE JOUR (66w) F 19/9/07

 Seal Mitted Ragdoll. Good size and shape, body is long and she stands on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Head is broad; she has a flat plane and good width between her ears which are medium in size. Eyes are well opened, slightly oblique and set nicely apart and are also a good blue colour. Bite is level. Cheeks are nicely developed. Dense seal points. Chin, bib and chest are white as is the underbody. The two front paws are white up to the angle of the paws. Back legs are white up to the level of the hocks. Coat nicely prepared beige in colour and a good length and texture. Tail is long and bushy.

 RES GRCC MRS S MELIA’S CH SUPATOFT TIKA MASALA (63) F 7/7/09

 Lovely Usual Somali. Body is firm, lithe and graceful. She is beautifully balanced for type. Head is a moderate wedge showing gentle contours. In profile she has a slight nose break. Ears are nicely set, proportionately large, well cupped and tufted. Good bite. Chin is a little weak. Eyes large and almond shaped, hazel in colour and very expressive. Coat is soft and fine, dense and lying along the spine. She is a rich golden brown ticked with black. Chest, belly, under tail, inside of legs and breeches are rich apricot. Tail fully furnished. Did not handle too well today, think something had spooked both Somali’s?

Blue Birman of good size and shape. Body long standing on medium sized legs on short strong paws. Nicely rounded head with ears that are medium in size and spaced well apart. Almost round medium blue eyes. Nose that is medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round. Good bite. Well prepared coat with matching blue grey points. Pure white gloves which are scalloped. Pure white socks that are medium in length. Good length to gauntlets. Tail bushy and medium in length. I judged him as a kitten and was delighted to learn that I had given him his 3rd CC so had made him up to Champion.

2ND MS C DEANLEY’S DEENLAY SEULETUNIQUE (13c2) M 13/8/09 

Blue Point Birman who is well grown and has a lovely temperament. Body is long and he stands on thick set legs on short strong paws. Skull is broad and rounded with good width between ears which are medium in size. Eyes are deep blue and almost round. Nose is medium in length with a slight dip in profile and full blue leather. Good bite. Full cheeks with firm chin. Well prepared bluish white coat. Pure white gloves that are scalloped. Socks are pure white and medium in length. Gauntlets tapered and also medium in length. Coat is long and silken with ruff developing. Points a blue grey and all matching. Tail is bushy and medium in length. Difficult decision between these two boys.

Seal Tabby Point Birman. Good size and shape with good boning. Head is broad and round with good width between medium sized ears. Almost round deep blue eyes. Nose of medium length with slight dip in profile. Good bite. Cheeks needing to fill. Well prepared coat which is a lovely texture. Points dense seal markings on a pale agouti brown background. Tabby markings well defined, M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to ears. Legs are barred and tail is well ringed. Pure white scalloped gloves with medium socks. Good length to gauntlets. Tail in proportion to his body.

Cheeks need to fill a little. Good bite. Well-prepared coat. Scalloped pure white gloves, pure white socks that cover the entire paw and good length to gauntlets. Slate blue points colours with excellent Tabby markings, M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to ears. Barring to legs with a fully ringed tail which is medium in length and bushy.

1ST CC W/H MRS N CROOK’S BEARDWOOD THEO ROUSSEAU (64 41) M 28/2/09

 Brown Classic Tabby Maine Coon. Large, solid and muscular body standing on substantial legs on large round well tufted paws. Head is medium in length. Square muzzle with a firm chin. Cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones. Bite almost level. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Ears large and tall well tufted, wide at the base, set high and spaced well apart. Eyes full and round, green in colour spaced nicely apart and set slightly oblique. Coat well prepared. Warm copper agouti ground colour with well defined black tabby markings. Well ringed tail, full flowing and at least the length of the body. Unfortunately has a fixed deviation at the end. Was gutted that I had to withhold as he is a lovely boy.

 Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon. A very pretty young lady. Body is medium in size, solid and muscular. Stands on substantial legs on large round tufted paws. Head medium in length with large tall ears that are well spaced and well tufted. Eyes round, full and set slightly oblique. Nose of even width with slight shallow curve. Good bite. Muzzle just needs to develop a little more. Cheeks fairly full with firm chin. Beautifully prepared coat of a warm brown showing dense black tabby markings well. Ruff and breeches developing well. White to feet, legs, underparts and white chest. Long well ringed tail easily reaching the shoulders

2ND MRS A GARDNER’S FELLPURRS MIRANDA (64 41) F 12/9/08

 Brown Tabby Maine Coon who is totally out of condition, can only presume that she has been calling. Good size but needing more weight, she stands on substantial legs on large round well tufted paws. Head medium in length with tall, very well tufted ears that are set high but well apart. Rather round eyes set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with a slight concave curve. Square muzzle with firm chin. Cheeks could be a little fuller for perfection. Good bite. Coat needing much more preparation showing black markings on a rather cold copper ground. M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, spotted whisker pads, thumb prints to ears. Shoulder markings forming an outline of a butterfly with oysters to both flanks. Tail long and well ringed.

1ST BOB MRS G KULKOWSKI’S DOLISKI BLUE ANGEL (66a) F 4/11/09 

Pretty Blue Colourpointed Ragdoll. Good size and shape, body long and muscular standing on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Nice broad head with flat plane. Medium sized ears needing just a little more width between them but they are tilted forward. Medium blue eyes set slightly oblique which are large and well opened. Medium length to nose with a gentle dip. Level bite. Cheeks filling nicely rounded muzzle. Well-prepared coat which is showing some surface shading but it is a good length and a nice texture. Points colour is a greyish blue and all matching. Long and bushy tail.

2ND MISS S AGAR’S GROOVICATS TOSCA (66a) F 12/1/10

Blue Colourpointed Ragdoll. Well grown for her age. Her body is a good length and she stands on legs which are medium in length on firm round paws. Broad head which is domed rather than flat and needing more width between ears. Ears are medium in size and tilted slightly forward. Two tone blue eyes which are well opened and set slightly oblique. Medium length to nose needing more dip at present. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill and chin a little weak. Well-prepared coat which is good texture and length and lacking undercoat at the moment. Points colour is a greyish blue and all matching. Long and bushy tail.

Blue Birman who is well grown and nicely balanced for Birman type. Body long standing on medium sized legs. Skull broad and rounded with good width between medium sized ears. Nose is medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Good bite. Almost round medium blue eyes. Coat well prepared, silken in texture. Coat is shady on top but clearing at the roots. Pure white gloves that are scalloped. Socks that are medium in length. Gauntlets taper and are medium in length. Points colour blue grey and all matching. Tail bushy and in proportion to body.

2ND MRS E BLATHERWICK’S PR KYNOBI LUCAS (13c2) MN 8/8/08

 Blue Point Birman of excellent type. Body is long and massive and he stands on medium length legs with short strong paws. Head broad and rounded with medium sized ears that are spaced well apart. Almost round deep blue eyes. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round. Chin a little weak. Level bite. Well prepared coat of bluish white, a little shady on the top but clear at the roots. Coat is long and silken in texture with a full ruff and breeches. Points are blue-grey. Front paws have pure white gloves. Back paws have medium white socks. Good length to gauntlets. Tail bushy and in proportion.

Lovely Blue Point Birman of good size and shape. Nicely rounded head with ears that are medium in size and spaced well apart. Almost round medium blue eyes. Nose that is medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round. Good bite. Well prepared coat with matching blue grey points. Pure white gloves which are scalloped, right glove is a little shorter but covers the toes. Pure white socks that are medium in length. Gauntlets are a little short and left gauntlet is blunt. Tail bushy and medium in length.

1ST MRS H HORTON’S NAMRIB CHEROKEE (64 41dsw) M F 31/10/09 

Red Silver Tabby and White Maine Coon whom I judged a few weeks ago, he is lovely. Good size and shape standing on substantial legs on large round well-tufted paws. Body long creating the characteristic rectangular appearance. Head medium in length with large tall well-tufted ears, which are spaced well apart. Full and round gold eyes set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Square muzzle, cheeks fairly full and high cheek bones. Coat well prepared showing a pale silvery red ground colour with rich red markings, M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Body markings are well defined. White inverted V. White feet, chest and underparts. Tail long, well ringed and at least the length of the body. Lovely temperament.

 2ND MRS L RUSSELL’S JEMLEY TWILIGHT MOMENTS (13c2) F 2/2/2010

 Very pretty Blue Birman. Body long and she is a good size standing on legs which are medium in length on short strong paws. Head broad and rounded with ears that are medium in size and spaced nicely apart. Almost round deep blue eyes. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round with firm chin. Points are blue grey and she has a bluish white coat which is well prepared. Nice ruff framing her face. Pure white scalloped gloves with pure white socks which cover the entire paw. Gauntlets taper nicely. Tail bushy and in proportion to body. Sweet temperament.

3RD MRS & MISS AGGETT’S ISADORYOU THEODORE (64 41d) M 13/3/2010

 Red Tabby Maine Coon who is well grown for his age and looks very promising. Body of good length, solid and showing the characteristic rectangular appearance. Head medium in length with ears that are large and tall, well tufted and tipped. Full and round green eyes. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Muzzle developing well and cheeks starting to fill. Level bite. Well prepared coat which has a lovely silky texture and is a good length and is displaying excellent classic tabby markings. M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to ears. Good butterfly across shoulders with oyster to both flanks. Spine lines are apparent with good barring to legs. Rich red markings on a bright apricot ground colour. Tail easily reaching the shoulders, well furnished and well ringed. Excellent temperament.

1ST MRS & MISS CLARKE’S ADSETBU MARINA (27) F 3/1/07

 Brown Burmese of good size and shape. Body is medium in size and has a good muscular feel to it; she is also heavier than she appears. She has slender legs which are in proportion to her body and her tail is straight, medium in thickness and tapers to a rounded tip. It balances well with her body. She has a medium wedge, reasonable width to her cheeks which taper to a longish muzzle which has a blunt finish. In profile the depth of her head is good, top of the head is slightly rounded as is the brow. Ears are medium in size and set well apart. Eyes are chartreuse in colour, medium in size and a little deep set. She has a distinct nose break, her nose is a little long but it is straight and ends with the tip in the same vertical plane as the chin. Her bite is good. Coat is short and fine, lovely satiny texture and lies close to her body. Coat is a darker seal tone and lacks warmth. Lovely temperament.

1ST DR P COLLIN’S IGR CH AUREUS FEMME FATALE (27c) F 8/10/06 

Lovely Lilac Burmese with a typical Burmese expression. She has a firm body which is medium in length, rounded chest and straight back. Slender legs standing on neat oval paws. Body is deceptively weighty. Tail is straight and tapers to a rounded tip, reaches the shoulders easily. Head balances well with her body, she has a short wide wedge which is wide at the cheeks and tapers to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Top is rounded with good space between her ears which are medium in size, broad at the base, rounded at the tip and in profile are tilted slightly forwards. In profile she has a rounded brow and a distinct nose break followed by a straight nose with good depth to chin. Her bite is good. She has large yellow chartreuse eyes with the top line of the eye showing a slant towards the nose and the lower line is rounded. Coat is short and glossy, lies close to the body and is a delicate dove grey with a pinkish cast. Handled well.

1ST MR C TAYLOR’S RAWEKE GOODGOLLY MISSMOLLY (27c) F 17/12/09

 Lilac Burmese baby who is elegant and very friendly. She is well balanced for her age in both size and Burmese type. Her body is medium in length and deceptively heavier than she appears to be. She has slender legs and stands on neat oval paws. Tail is straight tapering to a rounded tip and reaches the shoulders to balance with her body. Her head is in proportion to her body. She has a short wedge which tapers down to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Top of the head is rounded and she has good width between her ears which are medium in size, broad at the base and tilted slightly forwards. In profile her brow is rounded and she has a distinct nose break followed by a straight nose ending with the tip of the nose level with the chin. Eyes are large, lustrous and chartreuse in colour. They are spaced well apart. Bite is level. Coat is short, fine and a good texture. It lies close to the body and is a lovely shade of dove grey with a pinkish cast. The under parts are a little lighter in shade and the ears and face are a little darker.

2ND MRS A BAKER’S MICIASALI YOSIFA (27) F 4/11/09 

Lilac Tortie Burmese at the moment going through the teenage stage. Head and body do not balance as her head is a little small to the size of her body. Body is medium in length and she stands on slender legs on neat oval paws. She is muscular and deceptively heavier than she appears to be. Her head is a short wedge which needs a little more width between her cheekbones but it does taper to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Head needing a little more width between her ears which are medium in size, broad at the base and slightly tilted forwards. Her top of head is round as is her brow and she has a well defined nose break which is then followed by a straight nose ending with the tip in the same vertical plane as the chin. Eyes are large, chartreuse in colour with the top line of the eye showing a slant towards the nose and the bottom line being rounded. Bite is level. Coat is a little long today; it is a good texture, glossy and is dove grey lilac with a pinkish cast showing shades of cream.

3RD MR & MRS TOWERS’S FERNYAULGH TIFFANY (27a) F 28/11/09

Blue Burmese baby who is also going through the adolescent stage. Again good size to body but head needing to catch up. Body medium in size, muscular and deceptively heavy. She stands on slender legs on neat oval paws. Tail is straight, of medium thickness and tapers to a rounded tip. It balances with her body. Head is a short wedge which needs more width between the cheekbones and tapers to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Rounded top needing a little more width between medium sized ears which are rounded at the tip and tilted slightly forwards. Brow is round and she has a distinct nose break followed by a straight nose ending with the tip of the nose level with the end of the chin. Level bite. Eyes are large, spaced well apart and are chartreuse in colour. Coat is a good length, satin-like in texture and lies close to the body. It is a rather dark tone of blue at present with gradual shading to the underparts.

1ST MRS J RIDDLE’S GR PR OAKFORD SWEET WILLIAM (27f) MN 20/6/08

 Cream Burmese of lovely balanced Burmese type. Body is medium in length; he is muscular and heavier than his appearance indicates. He has a strong rounded chest and a straight back. He stands on slender legs on neat oval paws. Tail balances well with body, is straight and rounded at the tip. His head is a short wedge with good width between the cheekbones and tapers to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Top of head is round with good width between medium sized ears which are round at the tips and spaced well apart. Brow is round and he has a good nose break followed by a straight nose ending with the tip of the nose in the same vertical plane as the chin. Eyes are a yellowy chartreuse and are large, lustrous and set well apart. Bite is level. Coat is short, fine and satin like in texture. It lies close to the body. Coat is a lovely shade of cream showing a powdery effect on the ears and top of the head. He has slight tabby markings on his face which are quite permissible in this colour.

2ND MRS S PLAW’S CH & IGR PR RAINSONG XABI ALONSO (27) MN 7/3/07 

Brown Burmese of well balanced Burmese type. Body is medium in length and a little portly around the middle!! He has a muscular feel to his body; his chest is round and strong with a straight back. Legs are slender and he stands on neat oval paws. Tail is straight, of medium thickness and rounded at the tip. It is in balance with his body. Head is a short wedge with good width between the cheekbones and finishing with a blunt muzzle. Rounded top of head with good width between medium sized ears which are spaced well apart. Large pale chartreuse eyes which are well spaced with the top line showing a slight slant towards the nose and the lower line being rounded. Brow is rounded and he has a distinct nose break followed by a straight nose which ends with the tip of the nose in the same vertical plane as the chin. Bite is level. Coat is short and fine, satin like in texture and close lying. His coat is a rich warm seal brown showing lighter underparts but the shading is gradual.

3RD MR C TAYLOR’S GR PR RAWEKE CLEOPATRA (27) FN 12/3/07

Brown Burmese of good shape and size. Body is medium in length, muscular and she is heavier than she appears. She stands on slender legs on neat oval paws. Tail is straight of medium thickness and rounded at the tip. It reaches the shoulders. Head is a short wedge which for me needed a little more width between the cheeks and then finishes with a muzzle which could have been blunter. Level bite. Top of head is round and she has good width between medium sized ears which are rounded at the tips and tilted slightly forwards. Large round lustrous yellow chartreuse eyes which are spaced well apart. Brow is round with a distinct nose break followed by a straight nose which finishes in the same vertical plane as the chin. Coat is short. Satin like in texture and lies close to the body. It is a warm seal brown showing lighter underparts with gradual shading.

Brown Tortie Burmese baby who is well grown for her age. She has a sweet expression. Body is a good length and she stands on slender legs on neat oval paws. She is a good weight and in fact is heavier than she looks. Tail reaches the shoulders, is straight and rounded at the tip. Head is a short wedge needing a little more width between cheekbones but finishing in a blunt muzzle. Rounded top with ears which are medium in size, spaced well apart and rounded at the tip. Brow is round and she has a distinct nose break followed by a straight nose finishing with the tip of the nose in the same vertical plane as the chin. Eyes are large with colour still developing, at the moment a muddy chartreuse. Bite is level. Coat is a little long at present but is a good texture and it is glossy. Coat is brown displaying varying shades of red. Sweet disposition.
