WEST OF SCOTLAND. Judge – Mrs Barbara Prowse. 11/12/2010Thank you to Ian and Caroline for the invitation to judge once again in Scotland. The show managers and committee should be applauded on a successful show after the weather conditions almost caused a cancellation and bookwork etc went missing lost in the snow! Well done to all of you. My thanks to Lisa Buck for her help and expertise, we handled some lovely exhibits and I look forward to the next time that we can work together. AC PERSIAN GRAND PREMIER MALEI GRPC MR D SMITH’S GR PR WOOSY UMPH-N-PUFF (6f) MN 30/6/07Cream Smoke of well balanced Persian type. He is cobby in shape and stands low on the legs. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short snub nose with good break and full leather. Level bite. Full cheeks firm chin. Well prepared profuse coat that is a lovely texture. Body is a pale cream with a creamy white undercoat which extends about the bottom one third of the coat; his guard hairs are about one third as well. Well defined mask that is a deeper shade of cream than the body. Frill and ear tufts are silver. Tail is in proportion to his body RES GRPC MRS M CARMICHAEL’S GR PR JUSCARI EMLYN (54) MN 24/8/05Golden who is cobby in shape and stands low on the legs. Round head with good width between small neat well furnished ears. Round emerald green eyes which are a little deep set. Short broad nose with good stop and full brick leather outlined in black. Level bite. Full cheeks, firm chin. Well prepared coat. Head showing an apricot undercoat deepening to gold, body is a much colder shade and he is a little grey at the roots but the coat is evenly tipped with black. Chin, ear furnishings, stomach and chest pale apricot. Tipping on the tail is heavier than on the body. Tail short and bushy. AOV SLH PREMIER NEUTER MALEGR PC MRS G DAVIDSON’S PR SUVICOON QUICKSILVER SIMBA (64 18f) MN 28/12/05Cream Silver Tabby Maine Coon Solid body, muscular with good breadth to chest. Stands on substantial legs on large round paws. Head medium in length, good square muzzle with fairly full cheeks. Ears tall and they are set wide at the base and high. Eyes that are hazel, full and round and set slightly oblique. Nose of even width with a shallow concave curve. Level bite. Coat well prepared but a little on the short side at present. Tabby markings good on head, legs and tail but a little faint on the body. Tail reaching the shoulders and was well furnished AOV SLH PREMIER NEUTER MALEGR PC MR & MRS SNEDDON’S PR SHAWCOON FLORA MCDEE (64 41) FN 15/4/09Brown Tabby Maine Coon of good size, muscular and standing on substantial legs on large round well tufted paws. Body long with proportionate limbs creating the characteristic rectangular appearance. Head is medium in length with tall well tufted ears that are set high but well apart. Round green eyes set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with a slight concave curve. Square muzzle with firm chin. Good bite. Coat well prepared showing a nice copper ground colour with well defined black markings to head and legs. M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, spotted whisker pads, thumb prints to ears. Body markings a little diffused due to length of coat. Tail very long, well ringed and well furnished. RES GR PC MRS F BROWNSMITH’S PR POWERKATZ LUCY LOU (64 41ew) FN 14/2/09Tortie Tabby and White Maine Coon. Body is solid and muscular and she stands on substantial legs on large round well tufted paws. Head medium in length, nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones. Level bite. Square muzzle. Gold coloured eyes which are full and round spaced well apart and set slightly oblique. Well presented coat. Brilliant copper brown ground overlaid with red and black tabby markings which are well defined. White chest, feet and underparts. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back. SILVER TABBY SERIES MAINE COON NEUTER1PC BOB MISS N McGEACHY’S SHAWCOON FANTASIA’S FALKOR (64 44sw) MN 3/10/09Silver Tabby and White Maine Coon. Body medium in length standing on substantial legs on large round well-tufted paws. Head medium in size with large tall ears that are well tufted and spaced nicely apart. Full, round hazel eyes which are set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Level bite. Muzzle is square with cheeks needing just a little more fullness, chin firm. Well-prepared coat with ruff and breeches developing. Silver agouti ground with well defined dense black tabby markings. Good markings to head and legs. White chest, collar, feet and underparts with white inverted V on face. Tail long, well ringed and at least the length of the body. AC SELKIRK REX KITTEN1ST BOB MS A MORRISON’S KURLILOX HAN SOLO (79L 15) M 15/6/10Long Haired Black Selkirk Rex. This young man has a lovely temperament and is a good shape and size. Body is muscular and more rectangular than square, shoulders and rump are equally broad. Head is round with a slightly curved top of head. Ears are medium in size, have curly furnishings and are spaced well apart. Eyes could be a little larger for perfection but are round and have good width between them. Nose is short broad and straight with a convex curve in profile. Bite is level. Muzzle is medium in width and padding is developing well. Coat is thick and dense. It is arranged in loose individual curls although it is a little straighter on the back at present. Ruff is full and curly as are the trousers. Tail is thick and medium in length. 2ND MRS M BLAIR’S KURLILOX GO COMPARE (79s 31f) MN 28/4/10Cream and White Shorthaired Selkirk who for me is too British in type. He has good boning and he stands on legs which are medium in length. He has a firm muscular feel but body is very cobby in shape. Head is round with ears that are small, neat and spaced well apart. Eyes are large and round. Nose is short broad and straight needing more of a downward slant. Bite is level. His muzzle is medium in width and whisker pads are developing. Coat is thick and dense, of fairly uniform length and it stands out from the body. It is well rexed and arranged in loose individual curls. Tail is thick and medium in length. Lovely temperament. BLACK SILVER TABBY NEUTER1PC BOB MRS J BEST’S LEONITARA SILVER SUKI (18) FN 9/2/07Black Silver Tabby. Compact in shape and well balanced. Body cobby standing low on the legs with round firm paws. Head round with full cheeks. Ears small and round and set nicely apart. Eyes green, large and round. Nose short, broad and straight with a slight nose break and a full brick leather. Level bite. Chin firm. Coat short dense and crisp. Dense black tabby markings on a silver ground colour, there was very slight tarnishing on the nose. M to forehead, thumbprints to ears, spectacles and spotted whisker pads. Shoulder markings form the outline of a butterfly, an oyster to both flanks which is well defined. Good spine lines. Tail well ringed, thick and medium in length. TIPPED NEUTER MALE1PC MRS H BROWN’S TEMPLEGATES MOONSHADOW (39f) MN 12/11/09Cream Tipped of good shape and size. Cobby and standing low on short thick legs. Round head with rounded cheeks. Ears are small, rounded at the tips and spaced well apart. Round green eyes that are outlined in black. Short broad nose which is straight with a slight break, full brick nose leather lined in black. Level bite. Coat is short dense and crisp. Almost white undercoat which is evenly tipped with cream on body, head, ears and tail. Legs show some tipping. Chin, stomach, chest and under tail is almost white. Tail is medium in length, thicker at the base with a rounded tip. TIPPED NEUTER FEMALEBOB MR & MRS SMITH’S GR PR TEMPLEGATES JOSEPHINA (39) FN 26/5/04Black Tipped of good shape and size. Cobby standing low on the legs which are short and strong and she stands on round firm paws. Large round head with good width between neat ears. Round expressive eyes which are green in colour and outlined in black. Short broad nose with full brick leather, outlined in black. Level bite. Full cheeks but chin a little weak. Coat is short dense and crisp. Almost white undercoat with the coat on the back, flanks, head, ears and tail evenly tipped with black. Legs show tipping. Chin, stomach, chest and under tail almost white. Tail in proportion to body, thicker at the base with a rounded tip. Very pretty girl. CHOCOLATE BURMESE KITTEN1ST BOB MRS J FORBES-NISH’S KARLAC TIA MARIA (27b) F 2/4/10Chocolate Burmese who is medium in length, muscular and stands on slender legs on neat oval paws. She is heavier than she appears. Her head is in proportion to her body and she has a wedge which I would like to be a little shorter which tapers to a blunt finish at the muzzle. I would like a little more width between her cheeks for perfection. Ears are medium in size, broad at the base and slightly tilted forwards. Eyes are set well apart, large and pale green chartreuse in colour. Top of her head is nicely rounded and she has a good nose break followed by a straight nose, her chin is a little weak. Coat is a little long at present but it is a good texture and does lie close to her body. Coat colour is a nice warm milk chocolate with lighter underparts. Ears and face are slightly darker in shade. Tail is straight, medium in length and reaches the shoulders. LILAC BURMESE KITTEN1ST MRS J FORBES-NISH’S DOVESTONE EVANSTAR (27c) F 14/5/10Lilac Burmese who has a lovely Burmese expression. She is well grown for her age and is heavier than she appears to be. Her body is medium in size and she stands on slender legs on neat oval paws. Tail is straight and medium in length; it has a slight thickening at the end. Her head is a short wedge which tapers to a blunt finish. She has a good rounded forehead and good width between her ears which are medium in size. Her eyes are two tone in colour at present. They are green in the middle and yellow on the outside. Her profile shows a gently rounded brow and she has a distinct nose break followed by a straight nose with the tip of the nose almost in the same vertical plane as the chin, chin recedes slightly. Her coat is a little long at present but it is a good texture. Her coat is a lovely dove grey lilac showing a definite pinkish cast, underparts are lighter and ears and face are slightly darker. AC PERSIAN MAIDEN KITTEN1ST MR & MRS LESLIE’S DEDANNAN TECHNICOLOUR DREAM (70 12a6t) F 17/5/10Tortie Tabby and White Exotic. Well grown for her age. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round orange eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full leather. Bite is quite undershot. Full cheeks, very strong chin. Well prepared coat of sparkling white with a nicely patched body and well defined tabby markings showing on body and head. Well ringed tail in proportion to body. AV SLH DEBUTANTE NEUTER1ST MISS D HENDERSON’S LUNARAINE SKOLL (67 18d) MN 11/1/10Red Silver Tabby Norwegian Forest. Body is long and he is a good weight and has good boning. He stands high on the legs with back legs longer than front on large round paws. Head is triangular and he has a long straight profile. His head is slightly rounded and his ears are large with good width at the base and follow the line of the head down to the chin. Eyes are large and oval well opened and obliquely set. Good bite. Coat is semi long and he has a woolly undercoat that has a coarser topcoat. He has a full ruff and knickerbockers. Tail is long and bushy and reaches the shoulder blades easily. Well presented and a lovely temperament. AC DEBUTANTE KITTEN1ST MRS F BOWMAN’S PORTEOUS SILVER ENYA (30cs) F 27/6/10Lilac Silver Spotted baby. I just loved this colour and what a sweet baby. Cobby body standing low on short strong legs with round firm paws. Round head with full cheeks and firm chin. Good width between small ears that are rounded at the tips. Large round orange eyes which are spaced nicely apart. Short nose which is broad and straight with brick nose leather. Level bite. Coat is short dense and crisp. Ground colour is a cool toned beige with lilac Tabby markings. The head markings are M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to the ears. Body and legs showing numerous oval shaped spots, around the flanks the spots are elongated and linked. Tail has numerous narrow rings with the tip of the tail being the same colour as the markings. 2ND MR & MRS MacLEAY’S KRUZINKAL PANAMA (40 14) M 25/6/10Lilac Tabby Colourpointed kitten who is well grown for his age. Body is cobby and he stands on short strong legs on strong round paws. Round head with good width between small neat ears. He has round eyes of a lovely colour of blue which are spaced nicely apart. Nose is short, broad and straight. Good bite. Cheeks well rounded. Chin is firm. Coat is magnolia white and it is very plush, soft and very long. Points show very faint lilac markings on a pale beige background. Very faint M to forehead, spectacles and spotted whisker pads. Very hard to see bars on legs due to colouring but he has rings on her tail which is thick and medium in length. I just loved him and he had a lovely temperament. AC ARISTOCRAT NEUTER1ST MRS M MURRISH’S CH BARITPHANIE SOLITAIRE (15) FN 10/6/07Black of good shape and size. Cobby and standing low on the legs on large round firm paws. Large round head with good width between small neat ears that are rounded at the tip. Round expressive copper eyes. Short broad nose. Good bite. Cheeks full with firm chin. Jet black coat that is a good length being short, dense and crisp. Tail is thick and medium in length. 2ND MR & MRS McCOLL’S PR FERGAN DEVILS ADVOCATE (16) MN 16/5/08British Blue of who is cobby in shape and is well boned. He stands on short strong legs on round firm paws. Round head with ears that are tall and spaced well apart. Large round pale orange eyes. Short straight broad nose. Level bite. Muzzle is rather pinched. Firm chin. Coat is short dense and crisp. It is medium blue in shade and showing some silver tipping. Tail thick and medium in length. AC BURMESE SELF ADULT1ST MRS I COOK’S CH EGLINTON EROL BROWN (27) M 14/7/09Brown Burmese who is heavier than he looks and has a lovely Burmese expression. His body is medium in length and he stands on slender legs which are in proportion to his body on neat oval paws. Head balances with his body and he has a short wedge which has good width at the cheeks and has a blunt finish to the muzzle. Eyes are large and lustrous, set well apart and are green chartreuse in colour. Top of the head is rounded and he has good width between his ears which are medium in size and tilt slightly forwards. He has a distinct nose break which is followed by a short straight nose. Coat is short, fine, glossy and it lies close to the body. It is a rich warm seal brown. He has a few stray white hairs on both shoulders. Tail is straight, tapers to a rounded tip and reaches the shoulders. 2ND MRS M FERGUSON’S GR CH TEAROHA AUGUSTUS BROWN (27) M 21/7/08Well grown Brown Burmese who is heavier than he looks. His body is medium in length and he stands on slender legs on neat oval paws. Head is in proportion to his body and he has a longish wedge which needs a little more width at the cheeks. He has a blunt finish at his muzzle. Eyes are large and are set well apart and are green chartreuse in colour. Top of the head is rounded and he has good width between his ears which are medium in size and slightly tilted forwards. He has a good nose break which is followed by a straight nose which has a bump near the end. Coat is short fine and glossy. It lies close to the body and is a rich warm seal brown. He has a few stray white hairs on his left shoulder. Tail is straight, tapers to a rounded tip and reaches the shoulders. AC BURMESE BREEDERS NEUTER1ST MRS J VERLANDER’S IGR CH & PR HIGHLANDER HEAVENSENT (27c) FN 12/10/05Lilac Burmese with a wonderful wicked Burmese expression. Her body is medium in length and she stands on slender legs on neat oval paws. Tail is medium in length and tapers to a rounded tip. Head balances well with body. She has a short wedge which has good width between her cheekbones and tapers to a blunt finish. Forehead is rounded and she has a distinct nose break followed by a straight nose ending with the tip almost in the same vertical plane as her chin. Eyes are large, well spaced and green chartreuse in colour. Ears are medium in size, tilted slightly forward and well spaced. Coat is a good length; it is short and fine and lies close to her body. Coat is a lovely dove grey lilac showing a definite pinkish cast, underparts are lighter and ears and face are slightly darker. AC BURMESE NON BREEDERS NEUTER1ST MISS A COULTER’S GR PR JACOU BORNTOBOOGIE BEAU (27f) MN 3/8/08Mature Cream Burmese. Body is medium in length and he stands on slender legs on neat paws. He is muscular and a good weight being heavier than he looks. Gently rounded top of head with medium sized ears which are well set and slightly tilted forward. Short wide wedge and nice blunt muzzle with lovely expression. Large expressive eyes which are well set and green chartreuse in colour. Good nose break with a straight nose ending with the tip of the nose in the same vertical plane as the chin. Coat short and close lying of good texture and satin like to the touch. Coat is a rather dark shade of cream with the underparts lighter. It shows a distinct bloom on the ears, top of the head and the back. He also has faint Tabby markings on his face and slight barring on his legs. Tail is a good shape and reaches the shoulders. 2ND MRS J McGLASHAN’S KHAZAROX DASH OF CLASS (27d) MN 1/2/10Red Burmese who did not really want to come out of his pen so very difficult to assess. His body is a good length and he is heavier than he looks. Head is a longish wedge needing more width between his cheeks and more width at the muzzle as it is a little fine. Ears are medium in size and spaced well apart. Eyes are green chartreuse in colour, set well apart and a good size. Head is slightly rounded and he has a distinct nose break. Coat is short and satin like in texture. It is rather a pale shade of red. He has faint Tabby markings on his face and barring on his legs. Tail is medium in length and tapers to a rounded tip.
