SOMERSET CAT CLUB JUDGE –Mrs. B Prowse 5/6/2010Thank you to Elaine and Lisa for my first invitation to judge at this very well run show. I had a lovely weekend with excellent hospitality. Thank you to Sue Amor for her help and expertise. I had some lovely cats entered in my classes and I had some hard decisions to make. IMPERIAL CLASS AC GR PR PERSIAN NEUTER MALEI GRPC MISS J DASHWOOD’S GR PR PETITEPAWS APOLLO (70 1) MN 23/5/08Black Exotic of good shape and size. Large round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Large expressive round deep copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full black leather. Level bite. Full fat cheeks, firm chin. Dense black coat that a little unsound but it was plush and full of life standing well away from his body. Tail nicely balanced with body. AC BIRMAN CHAMPION ADULT FEMALEGR CC MRS P COLLINS’S CH DUBROVA ROMALLA (13c1) F 7/2/02Seal Birman of lovely size and shape. Very nicely balanced for type. Body long standing on legs of medium length on short strong paws. Skull strong, broad and rounded with ears which are medium in size and spaced nicely apart. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Eyes of a good blue which are almost round but not bold. Wide level bite. Cheeks full and round with firm chin. Well prepared coat of pale beige showing some surface shading but clear at the roots. Dense matching seal points. Pure white scalloped gloves. Socks are medium in length. Gauntlets are a good length tapering to the hocks. Tail bushy and medium in length. TORTIE & WHITE ADULT1CC BOB MR & MRS PAYNE’S ROSEBRIDGE FRILLY BLOOMERS (12 1) F 5/5/09Dominant Tortie and White. She is cobby and stands low on short fat legs. Beautifully balanced Persian type. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full leather. Level bite. Full cheeks firm chin. Coat well prepared showing patches of dense black and a rich red. Both colours to face with body showing patches of red. Dinky tail showing both colours. BLUE TORTIE & WHITE ADULT1CC BOB MR & MRS SANDERS’S LOMORAS PARRIS (12 2) F 29/8/09Dilute Tortie and White. She is a very pretty young lady with lovely balanced Persian type. Head is round with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short snub nose. Good bite. Full cheeks firm chin. Coat well prepared and nicely patched. Pastel blue and cream with a sparkling white. Showing both colours to face with white and body nicely patched. Dinky tail showing both colours. 2ND MRS D COOKE’S CH FIRANTY DONNATELLA (12 2) F 2/4/09Dilute Tortie and White of good shape and size but a little underweight today. Well balanced Persian type. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full leather. Good bite. Full cheeks, strong chin. Well-prepared coat which had an awful lot of old coat in it. Both colours with white to face of a medium shade of blue and cream. Sparkling white body nicely patched with blue and cream. The blue is a medium shade and is a little unsound at the moment. White underparts. Both colours to all four limbs. Blue and cream tail. BI COLOURED ADULT MALE1CC MS R JENKINS’S LOMORAS BOBBYDAZZLA (12a5) M 29/8/09Well grown Red and White Bi Colour of lovely well balanced Persian type. Large round head with excellent width between neat well furnished ears. Round eyes of a good orange colour which I would have liked a size larger. Short broad nose with good stop and full leather. Good bite. Full cheeks. Well-prepared profuse coat that was prepared to the last hair of rich red and a sparkling white. Red face with white chevron, white collar and white stripe around his middle. White chest and underparts. Dinky red tail. 2ND MRS L WILSON’S TYTHERTON GIFT OFTHEGAB (12a1) M 13/5/09Black and White Bi Colour. Well grown and cobby in shape. Large round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full black leather. Good bite. Cheeks full with firm chin. Coat is well patched with black and white. Both colours to face. He looked a little grubby today especially on his face and legs. Tail fully coloured and in proportion to his body. BOB MRS S AMBLER’S GR CH TYTHERTON RALPH LAUREN (12a5) M 25/5/08Red and White Bi-Colour of excellent shape and size. He is cobby and stands low on the legs on round firm paws. Lovely balanced Persian type. Round head with excellent width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full pink leather. Level bite. Full fat cheeks, strong chin. Well-prepared coat of sparkling white with red. Red and White to face, small patches of red on his body and a fully coloured tail. Full brush. Lovely boy. BI COLOURED ADULT FEMALE1CC MRS J REES’S JUANNRE ABIGAIL (12a2) F 28/7/09Blue and White Bi Colour of good size and shape. Cobby and standing low on short thick legs. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round copper eyes. Short snub nose with good stop and full leather. Good bite. Full cheeks firm chin. Well prepared coat of a sparkling white and a medium blue. Blue face with white chevron. White chest, underparts and feet. Tail in proportion. AC EXOTIC TABBY or TABBY & WHITE ADULT MALE1CC MRS R FISHER’S SHEERBLISS CELTIC TIGER (70 7d) M 21/2/09Red Silver Tabby Exotic of well balanced Persian type. Cobby in shape standing low on his legs. Round head with good width between neat ears. Round copper eyes. Short snub nose with full pink leather. Full cheeks firm chin. Coat has a pale silvery ground colour with red classic tabby markings; it is full of life and stands well away from his body. Tail is a good length and well ringed. 2ND MRS R FISHER’S OWLETTS JIM JAM (70 7d) M 11/8/09Red Silver Tabby Exotic just lacking the maturity of the other boy. Cobby in shape standing low on the legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full pink leather. Full fat cheeks. Good bite. Coat dense, plush and standing away from his body. Pale silvery red ground colour with red classic tabby markings which are well defined. Well ringed tail which is in proportion to his body. AC EXOTIC TABBY or TABBY & WHITE ADULT FEMALE1CC BOB MRS G CLARK’S CH SHEERBLISS DAKOTA (70 12a6t) F 21/2/09Classic Tortie Tabby and White Exotic of good size and shape. Lovely balanced Persian type. Round head with good width between neat ears. Round expressive orange eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full leather. Good bite. Copper brown ground colour to coat overlaid with lovely shades of red. Tabby markings well defined. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, thumbprints to ears. Butterfly across shoulders and oyster to both flanks. Spine lines running parallel to each other. Well ringed tail. Coat dense and plush, standing away from the body. AC TURKISH VAN ADULT1CC BOB MISS M UPHAM’S YENICIZGI AYSE (13d7 od) F 12/8/09Cream Odd eyed Turkish Van Female. Sturdy body and standing on well boned legs which are medium in length. Feet are neat, well rounded and tufted. Head is a broad wedge with a medium sized nose that is straight with a slight dip in profile and full pink leather. Ears are moderately large, well feathered, set high on the head and fairly close together. Eyes large and oval, amber in colour, alert and expressive with pink rims. Level bite. Coat chalk white. Head markings are a pastel shade of cream, they are not symmetrical but I would not penalise her for this as she has lovely type. The head markings are separated by a vertical blaze. Tail well furnished and balances nicely with the body; it is ringed with cream on a paler cream ground. CHOCOLATE POINT BIRMAN NEUTER1PC BOB MRS F BRIGLIADORI & DR K ROBSON’S UK IGR CH SHWECHINTHE SHWENAT (13c3) MN 31/3/99Mature Chocolate Point Birman of excellent size and shape. Body long and he stands on legs which are medium in length on short strong paws. Skull is broad and rounded and his ears are medium in size and spaced well apart. Eyes are almost round and medium blue in colour. Nose medium in length with dip in profile. Cheeks nicely rounded but chin a little weak. Coat is a good length and texture and he has a full ruff. Coat showing slight surface shading. Points a dark chocolate and he ahs a full masculine mask. Tail is slightly brindled. Gloves are scalloped and left glove dips towards the toes on the inside of the paws. Socks are medium in length. Gauntlets are a good length and tapered to finish just below the point of the hock. Tail in proportion to his body. RED, CREAM or TORTIE POINT BIRMAN NEUTER MALE1PC MRS J BLEWITT’S PURPURITE JASPER JOHNS (13c7) MN 10/6/09Cream Point Birman. Body long and massive. He stands on medium sized legs on short strong paws. Skull strong broad and rounded. Ears are medium in size and spaced well apart. Eyes are almost round, medium blue and spaced nicely apart. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Level bite. Cheeks nicely rounded. Well prepared coat showing slight surface shading and it is a very nice length and texture. Points colour is a pleasing shade of cream although the tail is a little hotter in colour and he has faint tabby markings on his face. Pure white symmetrical gloves with pure white socks that cover the entire back paws. Gauntlets are a good length. Tail bushy and medium in length. 2ND MRS T SHEPPERD’S SNOSHU JACARANDA (13c5) MN 30/7/08Red point Birman. Good size and body confirmation and well balanced for Birman type. Broad and rounded skull with medium sized ears that are spaced nicely apart. Almost round medium blue eyes. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill and chin a little weak. Pure white scalloped gloves that finish at the angle of the paws with white socks that cover the entire back paw. Gauntlets a good length finishing just below the point of the hock. Well prepared coat of pale cream with full ruff. Rich red points which are all matching just showing faint tabby markings on forehead. Tail medium in length and in proportion to body. RED, CREAM or TORTIE POINT BIRMAN NEUTER FEMALEBOB MRS J WORMALD’S IGR CH & GR PR DANLEIGH STARBURST (13c6) FN 25/4/04Seal Tortie Point Birman. Good size and shape. She is very pretty with well balanced Birman type. Round broad head with medium sized ears that are spaced nicely apart. Eyes almost round and a deep blue colour. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round. Good bite. Well prepared fawn coat. Points are a seal brown intermingled with shades of red. Blaze to nose. All points are broken with colour. Pure white symmetrical gloves and socks which cover the entire back paws. Good length to gauntlets. Tail short and bushy. AC PERSIAN SELF ADULT1ST MRS D COOKE’S CH FIRANTY MIDNIGHTSTAR (1) F 18/9/07Black Persian of well balanced type. She is a good shape and size but rather lacking in weight at present. Round head with good width between neat ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short snub nose with full black leather. Full cheeks firm chin. Good bite. Coat is dense black and well prepared. Tail in proportion to her body. 2ND MR & MRS ANGUS’S GR CH ANSTEYN RED HOT CHILLIPEPPER (4) M 11/6/08Red Persian who is a good shape and size and nicely balanced for type. Well grown with good boning standing on short legs on firm paws. Round head with good width between neat ears. Large round copper eyes with more attention needed around the gutters. Short broad nose with good stop and full pink leather. Bite slightly undershot but acceptable. Full cheeks. Coat is a rich shade of red, well prepared and showing very minimal tabby markings. Dinky tail. 3RD MR BRAY & MRS GRIGGS’S CHARBONNELLA BETTE NOIR (1) F 1/8/09Black of well balanced Persian type. Good shape and size being cobby and standing low on the legs. Round head with good width between neat ears. Short snub nose with full black leather. Bite is quite undershot. Full cheeks firm chin. Coat dense black, well prepared with tail which is in proportion to her body. AC SOMALI or RAGDOLL BREEDERS ADULT1ST MR & MRS DAVIES’S GR CH RAGSHAVEN BUSTERS LEGACY (66 31a) M 27/3/05Blue and White bi colour Ragdoll of lovely balanced type. Excellent size and shape with body being long and well grown. Head is broad with flat plane. Ears are medium in size, set wide and slightly tilted forward. Large blue eyes which are set slightly oblique and are spaced nicely apart. Medium length nose with a gentle dip. Level bite. Full cheeks with rounded muzzle. Points colour is a bluish grey. Back a bluish grey with a small patch of white he also has a part white collar. Inverted V on face which is symmetrical. Bib chest and underparts white. Front legs are white and back legs are white up to the level of the underbody. Long and bushy tail. Excellent temperament. 2ND MR & MRS ALLEN’S CH TISANTI ALBERTINE (66w) F 16/6/07Seal Mitted Ragdoll. Body is long and she stands on large round paws. Head is broad with a flat plane. Ears are medium in size and spaced well apart with a slight forwards tilt. Eyes are large, well opened, set slightly oblique and medium blue in colour. Cheeks are well developed, rounded muzzle and firm chin. Good bite. Dense seal points which are matching. Chin, bib and chest are white as is the underbody from chest to tail. Front paws have white mittens which extend to the angle of the paws. The back legs are white to the level of the hocks. Coat is well prepared but very very shady. Coat is a good length and texture. Tail is long and bushy. 3RD MISS H GLEDSTONE’S SWANSEARAGL MR DARCEY (66w) M 12/7/09Seal Mitted Ragdoll. Good size and shape, body is long and he stands on legs that are medium in length. Broad head with flat plane and good width between ears which are medium in size. Eyes are well opened, slightly oblique and set nicely apart. They are a very good blue colour. Nose is medium in length and has a gentle dip. Good bite. Cheeks could to be rounder for perfection and white chin recedes slightly. Dense seal points. Chin bib and chest are white as is the underbody. The two front paws are white up to the angle of the paws. The back legs are white up to the level of the hock. Coat needs more preparation; it is harsh to the touch, beige in colour and a good length. Tail is long and bushy. AC SOMALI or RAGDOLL NON BREEDERS ADULT1ST MRS L RUEL’S ADATELO PRINCESS KIZZY (66t) F 18/7/08Seal Tabby Colourpointed Ragdoll of very good shape and size. She stands on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Head is rather long and narrow in shape and needs to broaden. Ears are medium in size, slightly tilted forwards and need a little more space between them. Eyes are large, set slightly oblique and blue in colour. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip. Level bite. Cheeks need to fill and chin is a little weak. Coat well prepared, silky in texture and a good length. Points are seal brown with well defined tabby markings. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, thumbprints to ears and spectacles. Good barring to legs with a well ringed tail which is long and reaches the shoulders well. AC SOMALI or RAGDOLL BREEDERS NEUTER1ST MR & MRS DAVIES’S CH & IGR PR SONNYWOOD NUTMEG (66e) FN 20/5/02Seal Tortie Colourpointed Ragdoll with a long and muscular body. She stands on legs that are medium in length on large round well tufted paws. Her head is broad and she has a flat plane. Ears are medium in size, slightly tilted forward and are set well apart. Eyes are large, set slightly oblique and medium blue in colour. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip. Level bite. Cheeks well developed with firm chin. Coat well prepared, silky in texture with full ruff and knickerbockers. Coat is showing quite a lot of shading on the body but it is clear at the roots. Dense matching points which are seal brown intermingled with a pale shade of red. All points show colour. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders well. 2ND MR & MRS STABLES’S CH & PR MERLIESIN ITSAKINDA MAGIC (63d) MN 6/3/06Lilac Somali who is well grown with a lovely smiley face. Body firm and of medium size although a little rotund around the middle! Head a moderate wedge showing gentle contours. Ears set wide apart but not low, broad at the base and proportionately large. They are well tufted. Eyes are hazel, large, almond shaped, set slightly oblique and well apart. They are accentuated by a dark surround and encircled by lighter spectacles. A shallow indentation forms the muzzle and there is a slight nose break in profile. Good bite. Coat is a warm dove grey made up of an oatmeal undercoat ticked with lilac. Chest, belly, under tail, inside of legs and breeches is mushroom. Ticking is lilac and it is denser along the tail and spine. Lovely tufted feet. Tail long and fully furnished. 3RD MRS & MISS BOWKER’S PR VALKEA AURORA BOREALIS (66w) MN 14/3/08Seal Mitted Ragdoll. Good size and shape, body is long and he stands on legs that are medium in length. Head is broad; he has a flat plane and good width between his ears which are medium in size. Eyes are well opened, slightly oblique and set nicely apart. They are medium blue in colour. Good bite. Cheeks need to be rounder and chin recedes. Dense seal points. Chin, bib and chest are white as is the underbody. The two front paws are white up to the angle of the paws. White just reaches the level of the hocks on the back legs. Coat needing much more preparation and it is quite shady. Tail is long and bushy. AC SOMALI or RAGDOLL NON BREEDERS NEUTER1ST MISS D CHILCOTT’S EMANAN NANUQ (63e) MN 9/6/09Fawn Somali of medium build and nicely balanced. Broad head curving to a firm wedge and set on an elegant neck. Good sized ears set wide apart and broad at the base, well cupped and tufted. Large almond shaped eyes set obliquely, well apart and a nice shade of amber. Good nose break, level bite with slightly weak chin. Coat soft and fine and lying flat along the spine. Coat colour a deep shade of fawn made up of a pale oatmeal undercoat well ticked with fawn. Full heels, well defined spine line and strong facial markings. Tail long and well furnished. 2ND MRS L DAWES’S PR MIDNIGHTPAWS UNKNOWN JEWEL (66 31a) MN 13/6/07Blue Bi colour Ragdoll of lovely balanced type and very well mannered. His body is long and muscular and he stands on legs that are medium in length on large round paws which are well tufted. Good broad head with flat plane. Ears are medium in size, set wide and slightly tilted forward. Large blue eyes which are set slightly oblique. Medium length nose with a gentle dip. Level bite. Full cheeks with rounded muzzle. Points colour a bluish grey. Back a bluish grey with patches of white. Balanced inverted V on face although it does tend to be rather narrow up his nose. Bib chest and underparts white. Coat well prepared, silken in texture and medium in length. Long and bushy tail. 3RD MR & MRS STABLES’S GR CH & PR AMORES OPHELIA FIZKIN (63s) FN 14/2/03Usual Silver Somali who is well balanced for size and shape. Her body is firm, lithe and muscular and she stands on long legs with oval feet that have tufts between the toes. Head is a moderate wedge showing gentle contours. She has a shallow indentation which forms her muzzle and in profile she has a slight nose break. Ears are set wide apart, broad at the base and proportionately large. Large almond shaped amber eyes set obliquely and well apart. I would like a stronger chin. Coat is soft and fine with a full ruff. The base hair is a silvery white ticked with black. She has slight tarnishing on her ruff, front legs, back paws and face. Ear tips and tufts, facial markings, top and tip of tail, toe tufts and heels are black. Belly and under tail is silvery white. Tail is long and in proportion to her body. ANY BURMESE A/K/N BORN JAN – JUNE1ST MRS & MISS MATTHEWS’S KATCHYN COKAHLUALICIOUS (27b) F 13/6/09Chocolate Burmese who is medium in length, muscular, standing on slender legs on neat paws. Head is in proportion to body and she has a short wedge which tapers to a blunt finish at the muzzle. Ears are medium in size, broad at the base and slightly tilted forwards. Eyes are set well apart, large and a yellowy chartreuse in colour. Top of her head is nicely rounded and she has a good nose break followed by a straight nose, her chin is a little weak. Level bite. Coat is a little long at present but it is a good texture and does lie close to her body. Coat colour is a nice warm milk chocolate with lighter underparts. Ears and face are slightly darker in shade. Tail is straight, medium in length and reaches the shoulders. 2ND MS A WILLIAMS’S JANAGAR BLUE VELVET (27a) FN 27/4/09Blue who is very unbalanced at present. Head is not quite in proportion to her body today and her body is a good length but she needs a little more weight. Legs are slender and she stands on neat paws which are oval in shape. Her head is a long narrow wedge which needs a little more width between her cheek bones and tapers to a blunt finish. Top of her head is rounded and she has ears which are medium in size which need more width between them. Eyes are large, expressive and chartreuse in colour. I would like a little more nose break but the nose is straight after the break but it is also rather long. Level bite and good depth to chin. Coat is short, fine, satin in texture on most of the body but a little harsh along the spine. Blue is a little dark in shade at present. Tail straight reaching the shoulders with a rounded tip. ANY BURMESE A/K/N BORN JULY – DEC1ST MRS S HILLMAN’S GR CH TOSCANA TALLULAH (27h) F 15/8/03Mature Chocolate Tortie Burmese. Body is of medium length and she stands on slender legs on neat paws. She is muscular and a good weight. Gently rounded top of head. Slightly large ears which are well set and slightly tilted forward. Short wide wedge and nice blunt muzzle with super expression. Large expressive eyes which are well set and pale chartreuse in colour. Good nose break with a straight nose ending with the tip of the nose in the same vertical plane as the chin. Level bite. Tail is a good shape and reaches the shoulders. Coat short and close lying of good texture and satin like to the touch. Warm chocolate with nice red and cream markings. Tail is a good shape and reaches the shoulders.
