Show report for Cambridgeshire Show held 28 March 2009 -

Judge Prue Kerr

Many thanks to Sally Tokens and Paul Asquith for inviting me to judge, and to the club for its hospitality. I had the pleasure of the company of my friend Patti Tegg, as my steward - I really enjoyed our day together, and look forward to the next time.

BURMESE IMPERIAL GR CH MALE

 IMP GR CH JARVIS’ GR CH KYMIAN KIPLING,

red; marginally small for a male adult, but felt strong and muscular, with elegant limbs, tail rather tapered, and a little short to balance; coat is of beautiful sleek fine texture, and of a bright rich tone of red, head has medium length wedge, with good break in profile and rounded brow, level chin and bite, I would prefer a little more width at the jaw hinge, well shaped and set ears, eyes are of nice shape, pale yellow in colour.

 Res w/held; 2 PALLISTER’S GR CH PENWYNKATZ CRÈME DELIGHT;

 cream; well proportioned body and limbs; unfortunately today he felt light for his build, perhaps seasonally, and lacking in substance, especially over the shoulders; he really lacked the “heavier than he looks” feel; tail of balancing length and good shape, coat is of sleek texture and even tone, clear of bars; head has medium length wedge, good nose break, level chin and bite, nicely rounded brow, well shaped and set ears, yellow eyes of good shape.

IMP GR CH FEMALE

GR CH SNEESBY’S GR CH KATOME BETHANY BROWN,

brown; really stylish girl, very muscular feel, slim elegant limbs, tail in harmony, lovely sleek fine close-lying coat, head has a short blunt wedge, with excellent width to top of head between well shaped ears of proportionate size, deep level chin, good profile break, with rounded brow, yellow eyes have obliquely set upper lid and curved lower lid, giving wonderful expression. A lovely girl.

Res MOONEY & REID’S GR CH MAINMAN KISSABLE,

, a very chunky lady, who obviously enjoys her food. Mature and muscular, but rather portly and with a correspondingly thick, rather short tail, coat is a warm dark tone of chocolate, clear and of soft texture, head has short blunt wedge, level chin, upper incisors missing, good width to top of head, with well shaped slightly upright ears, yellow eyes of good shape and set when she was relaxed in her pen.

ASIAN SMOKE OR BURMILLA ADULT, MALE

1 CH TAYLOR’S PREFERE SEBASTIAN YRADIER,

BCR red silver Burmilla; nice strong muscular feel to this young lad, well proportioned body, legs and tail, coat of excellent texture, nice bright tone of BCR red over silver base, head has a medium length wedge, level bite, chin level but not deep, fairly well defined nose break, well shaped and set ears, green eyes of correct shape with obliquely set upper line and rounded lower lid.

FEMALE

1 CH BOB ROBINSON’S KARESAMA SILVER SEANYMPH,

BCR black silver; young female who as yet gives the impression of being rather immature, but is of excellent overall type, with very well proportioned muscular body, strong but elegant limbs, and tail in harmony, coat is of fine texture, with silvery white undercoat and dark tipping, head has excellent width to top, between widely held ears of balancing size, level bite and deep chin, rounded brow with good nose break, expressive green eyes have wonderful shape and set. A very nice girl.

Also considered for BOB

 ROBINSON’S CH KARESAMA SILVER SEASHADOW,

also very nice, but brow just a little less rounded, and chin not quite so strong.

ASIAN SELF/TORTIE (INC BOMBAY) NEUTER

1 PR w/h ZAGNI’S TYPHA BROWNIE,

FEX chocolate self; very big strong lad, and despite the fact that he is only just adult, looks in no way immature. Strong and muscular, with elegant limbs, tail of tapered shape, is slightly short to balance; head is long, rather narrow at jaw, and lacks sufficient break in profile, chin and bite are level, top of head needs more width, ears are held too upright.

AV MAIDEN SH ADULT

1 ROBINSON’S KARESAMA SILVER SEANYMPH,

Burmilla AV KITTEN

1 CRAGG’S MAGICAL MIZ TIGGYWINKLE, 33a27sx, 8/11/2008;

 lovely baby, with firm muscular little body, slim legs, oval paws, fine tail to balance; her coat has as yet to materialise and her entire body and limbs are covered in fine down, head has level bite and deep level chin, good width at the jaw with fair whisker break, excellent stop in profile, flat brow with ears of proportionate size, set just marginally upright, blue eyes are oval in shape, with correct slightly oblique set.

3 LOHR’S ELLIECHLO LILY LOHR,

Asian tortie.

AV BURMESE BREEDER’S FEMALE - a strong class, and a real pleasure to judge.

1 SNEESBY’S GR CH KATOME BETHANY BROWN.
2 JARVIS’S KYMIAN MARTHA,

 chocolate tortie; really lovely overall type, well balanced body, limbs and tail, lovely sleek, clear coat, head is short with blunt wedge, excellent break in profile and nice deep level chin, rounded brow, nicely rounded top of head between well shaped and set ears, yellow eyes of excellent shape and set.

2 BOSWORTH’S OAKENSHIELD SOUTHERN BELLE, CREAM,

strong muscular feel, well proportioned and with sleek texture to coat, which is rather hot in tone, head has medium length wedge, good profile break, rounded brow, deep level chin, yellow eyes are slightly round in shape, well shaped and placed ears.

3 WILLIS’ LUSARA VIOLET VENUS,

lilac

 AC MAIDEN NEUTER

1 GRIMES CH MYTHIAN MEKURIA,

 blue MN;a large lad who had just about had enough by the time we reached him, muscular lad, quite long in the body, with balancing limbs and tail, head has rather long wedge, well shaped and set ears follow line of upper head, yellow eyes with slight green rim.

AC VISITORS NEUTER

1 GRIMES’ IGR PR ADMILBU MAGNUM MIVRA,

 blue tortie; lovely girl, feeling heavy for her size, but of elegant proportions, and muscular, coat of excellent close-lying texture, and of soft powdery tones, head has excellent profile break, slight bump over nose, well shaped and set ears, rounded head between well shaped and set ears, excellent eyes shape and set.

2 BLAKE’S CH & PR HOBBERDY HOOPSADAISY,

 chocolate tortie; yet another very nice tortie, this time of a rich deep tone of chocolate and red; very heavy and muscular feel, balancing tail, head has short blunt wedge, nose rolls off a bit, and chin is level but not deep, very nicely set ears with good width to top of head, excellent shape and set to eyes, with nice expression.

3 RAE’S RAEBURASI SUGABABE.

AC BURMESE NEUTER.

1 TEGG’S GR CH & PR MINATOSA PANDORA,

brown tortie; lovely girl, chunky, well proportioned body, limbs and tail, coat sleek, dark tone of brown tortie, clear, head is short, with rounded brow, level chin, nicely placed ears, greenish yellow eyes of excellent shape and set. Absolutely lovely.

HOUSEHOLD PETS AV SHORTHAIRED ADULT

1 HURN’S SMOKY;

a lovely contented tabby MN who was so laid back, even at the end of his long day. Looked really majestic in his large comfortable pen; shown in lovely condition and a credit to his owner.

2 JAMES & JAMES’ DENNIS,

an odd-eyed white MN who was taking everything in his stride, so calm and relaxed; lovely crisp well groomed coat, and such a soft, easy-going nature.

3 HURN’S EBONY,

a large black girl, with a bit of long-hair in her ancestry, I would surmise, judging by the length of her coat and her facial expression. Just a bit of dandruff in her coat today, but still a lovely soft gently girl, very relaxed and with a lovely temperament.
