CAPITAL LONGHAIR CAT ASSOCIATION SHOW - 8 JANUARY 2011 JUDGES REPORT - MRS CELIA DE MARTINO

My thanks to Sally and the committee for their kind invitation to judge here again. A lovely venue amd luckily no snow this year. Thanks to my steward John Blore who as usual handled the cats and me with his usual expertise. He always is good company and I rely on him to keep my pencils sharp!!

AC SELF PERSIAN CHAMPION ADULT MALE

GCC HOWARD’S CH PURRDREAMZ SWEET SENSATION.

A gorgeous odd eyed white lad with well prepared long profuse soft silky sparkling white coat. Excellent width between well placed furnished ears, short nose with stop, full cheeks, good bite and firm chin. Well placed eyes, could be bolder for perfection, good orange colour developing and the blue one a good shade. Large cobby rounded frame with sturdy legs and tail in proportion to body. Excellent temperament and condition

RES GCC CONYBEARE’S CH OSCARBARA PRINCE CHARMING.

A lilac lad showing good width between well placed furnished ears, short nose with stop, full cheeks, good bite and firm chin. Muzzle slightly pinched. Round orange eyes. Cobby rounded weighty frame with short sturdy legs and tail of medium length in proportion to body. Well prepared soft silky coat of a good warm shade of lilac, some shading. Excellent temperament and condition.

I GCC WITHELD ROBERT’S GR CH ALASKAN CINDERS

A lovely black girl just over 6 years old and was probably a stunner in her prime but today lacking in length of coat and eye colour. Good top of head with well placed furnished ears, short nose with stop, full cheeks, acceptable bite, muzzle pinched and firm chin. Well place eyes of pale orange due to age. Head more heart shaped than round. Cobby frame with sturdy legs and tail in proportion. Glossy black coat with minimal shading. Would have awarded cc but not grand today.

BOB PEACHEY’S IMP GR PR CASHEL HEADBOY.

Well grown well prepared golden lad with profuse coat of warm apricot evenly tipped with black. Excellent width between well placed furnished ears, short nose with stop, brick leather outlined, full cheeks, good bite and firm chin. Well placed excellent green eyes, touch deep set, outlined in black. Cobby rounded frame, short sturdy legs and tail in proportion

NORWEGIAN FOREST KITTEN MALE

1 & BOB SCOTT’S GLEDEKATT NJORD

A brown tabby lad just over 5 months old with lovely straight profile and that lovely alert Norwegian expression. Good triangular shaped head with well placed large furnished and tufted ears. Straight nose with rounded forehead. Well placed oval green eyes, slightly oblique in set and made bolder by his pale spectacles. Bite good and chin firm. Strong muscular frame with sturdy legs, back legs being higher than the front. Long ringed tail in proportion to body. Well prepared soft silky kitten coat with some woolly undercoat coming. A striking lad in excellent condition and having an excellent temperament.

2 CANDLER’S KATTJEWELS MAXIMUS.

A blue silver tabby who ran winner close. Just over 4 months old and well grown for age. Good triangular shaped head with well placed large ears, excellent long furnishings, straight nose with rounded forehead, good bite and firm chin. Well placed oval green eyes slightly oblique in set and with an alert expression. Muscular body with sturdy legs, back legs higher than the front showing knickerbockers and long tail in proportion to body. Fairly well prepared silver coat with tabby markings, woolly undercoat evident and showing lots of guard hairs. .

3 ROSS’ NORSKWOOD CRACKER

A red tabby lad nearly 7 months old of good size and weight. A substantial boy with muscular body, sturdy legs, hind legs higher than the front, showing knickerbockers and long ringed tail in proportion to body. Triangular shaped head with straight nose in profile, slight bump to side, rounded forehead, well placed oval green eyes, slightly oblique in set. Alert expression Would prefer larger eyes. Well placed large furnished and tufted ears. Good bite and firm chin. Well prepared coat with rich red tabby markings and good woolly undercoat coming. Excellent temperament and condition.

4 CHERRY’S KATTJEWELS BAILEY

A cream silver tabby lad just over 4 months old, bad tempered for one so young but hopefully his first show and was nervous as he is a lovely boy. Triangular shaped head with well placed furnished and tufted ears, straight nose with rounded forehead, good bite and firm chin. Muzzle too pronounced. Well placed oval orange eyes, slightly oblique in set. Silver ruff framing his face. Well grown for age. Muscular body with sturdy legs, back legs higher than front. knickerbockers, long tail in proportion to body. Well prepared soft silky kitten coat, some woolly undercoat coming.

1 CANDLER’S KATTJEWELS TINKERBELL

A blue tortie silver tabby, just over 4 months old, the youngest in the class and stunning, ran male very close for bob. Triangular head with lovely alert expression, straight nose with rounded forehead, well placed amber eyes slightly oblique in set, alert expression. Well placed furnished and tufted ears, good bite and firm chin. Well grown muscular body with strong legs, back legs higher than the front and long tail. Well prepared silver coat with blue tabby markings. Lots of guard hairs and woolly undercoat evident, very good for one so young. Excellent temperament and condition.

2 SPOONER’S TIGANLEA DAME PORTIA

A blue tortie nearly 6 months old with an excellent profile. Triangular head with well placed furnished ears, straight nose with rounded forehead, oval hazel eyes, well placed slightly oblique in set, good bite and firm chin. Muscular body with sturdy legs And long tail. Well prepared coat of blue and cream showing lots of guard hairs in her kitten coat but waiting for undercoat to come. Excellent temperament and condition

3 SCOTT’S GLEDEKATT EIR

An odd eyed black and white with triangular shaped head, well placed furnished ears, straight nose with rounded forehead, good bite but needs more chin. Whisker pads pronounced. Eyes, one blue one amber well placed, but more round than oval so set does not appear so oblique as I would have liked to give that alert Norwegian look. Muscular body withth sturdy legs and long tail in proportion to body. Well prepared glossy black coat of good length, lots of guard hairs evident, woolly undercoat coming

MERIT CANN’S CHEHAM TOTAL ECLIPSE

A gorgeous bright eyed glossy black girl just over 3 months old. Good width between well placed furnished ears, nose with break at nasal bridge, full cheeks, good bite, rounded whisker pads and firm chin. Walnut shaped eyes, well placed and set wide apart. Rounded body, well grown for age and of good weight,, her shoulders being the same width as her rear. Body well covered. Tail of medium length and in proportion to body. Well prepared soft silky dense plush coat of glossy black with hardly any shading .Excellent temperament condition and preparation.

MERIT POWELL & WELLS’ CHEHAM PURE ILLUSION

A blue mink tabby girl just over 3 months old and what a gorgeous colour .Good width between well placed furnished ears, a touch open ast base and needs to grow into them. Full rounded cheeks, nose with break at nasal bridge, fairly rounded whisker pads, good bite and firm chin. Well placed wide apart walnut shaped hazel eyes. Muscular body, rounded, weighty, read as wide as shoulders sturdy legs, tufts starting to come between toes, full tail of medium length and in proportion to body. Well prepared soft silky coat. excellent mink tabby markings on pale beige background. M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, facial lines from outer eyes, Tail ringed and mackerel tabby markings to back. Excellent temperament and condition. A well behave laid back take home babe.

A brown tabby and white 8 month old girl who was dying to come out and have a cuddle .Good width between well placed furnished ears, nose with break at nasal bridge, full rounded cheeks, good bite, rounded whisker pads and firm chin. Orange walnut shaped eyes well placed and set wide apart Well grown for age, weighty rounded frame, Shoulders and rear of even width, sturdy legs with tufts starting to come from toes. Full tail in proportion to body. Well prepared soft silky coat of medium length and well prepared. Black mackerel tabby markings on warm brown background. M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, facial lines from outer eyes. White ruff, chest, tummy and legs. Excellent temperament and condition A striking girl in excellent condition and with a lovely personality.

Strong weighty muscular body, strong ringed legs and ringed seal brown tail in proportion. Well prepared soft silky beige coat with excellent mask and points. showing seal brown tabby markings on paler brown background. On face M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, spotted whisker pads, facial lines from outer eyes .Excellent temperament and condition.

Large cobby rounded weighty frame, short sturdy legs and tail of medium length in proportion to body.

Good width and flat plane between well placed furnished ears, nose with gentle dip in profile and retrousse at tip, good bite and firm chin. Nice blue eyes slightly oblique in shape and set. Muscular body with sturdy legs and long blue tail. Well prepared pale beige coat with good blue mask and points. Soft silky new coat coming from shoulders, the rest harsh and past it’s best.

Blue on head separated by white coming from inverted v on forehead covering nose, whisker pads, shin, chest and tummy. Legs white.

A beautiful blue tortie birman of good type. Excellent well placed blue eyes. Excellent well prepared soft silky beige coat of good length and texture. Good mask and points showing good distribution of blue and cream. Even white gloves socks and gauntlets.
