CENTRAL LONGHAIRED CAT CLUB. JUDGE – Mrs Barbara Prowse 23/01/2010.

Thank you Marion and Sheila for the invitation to judge. I had a lovely day at this well run show and handled some very nice cats and kittens. A big thank you to Anne Ashworth for stepping in to steward for me after my booked steward was unable to attend due to illness. As always it was a pleasure working with you Anne and look forward to the next time, also a big thank you to Brian for the fully marked up catalogue.

AC PERSIAN NON-SELF CHAMPION FEMALE

GRCC MRS A MILLICAN’S CH CULLYKHAN HONEY PIE (12 1) F 4/9/08

 A lovely start to my day with a stunning Dominant Tortie and White. She is cobby and stands low on short fat legs. Beautifully balanced Persian type. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full leather. Level bite. Full cheeks firm chin. Coat well prepared showing patches of dense black and a rich red. Both colours to face with body showing a couple of patches of red. Dinky tail showing both colours.

RES GRCC MRS H HAYCOCKS’S CH TAMOSAH CHABLIS (10) F 4/8/04 

Very pretty Chinchilla female of good size and shape. Cobby and standing low on the legs. Head which is broad and round with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive emerald green eyes that are outlined in black. Short broad nose outlined in black with a full brick leather. Nice level bite. Full cheeks with chin slightly weak. Well prepared coat displaying a white undercoat which is evenly tipped with black. Legs are slightly shaded but the chin; ear furnishings, stomach and chest are pure white. Tail short and bushy.

GRCC MISS B HILL’S UK GR CH MIDDLEMAY LILYTHEPINK (13c4) F 3/4/04 

Lilac Point Birman of good shape and size and lovely Birman type. Broad and rounded skull with good width between medium sized ears that are spaced well apart. Almost round medium blue eyes. Medium sized nose with a slight dip in profile. Good bite. Cheeks full but chin slightly weak. Well prepared magnolia coat with well developed ruff. Coat long and silken in texture. Points a matching pinkish grey. Gloves are pure white and cover the front paws and are scalloped. Medium socks. Gauntlets taper and are medium in length. Tail bushy and in proportion to body.

RES GRCC MRS A MADDEN’S CH PENBERIS DEMELZA (13c5) F 6/2/07 

Red Point Birman of lovely shape and size. Body long and massive standing on legs of medium length with short strong paws. Head broad and rounded with ears that are medium in size and spaced well apart. Almost round medium blue eyes. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and rounded. Well prepared coat of pale cream showing slight surface shading. Points a rich shade of red. Pure white gloves which are scalloped with pure white socks that are medium in length. Good length to gauntlets. Tail bushy and in proportion to her body.

GRPC MR & MRS BUNCE’S UK IGR PR COONTASTIC NIJINSKY (64 31t) MN 27/10/05 

Classic brown tabby and white Maine Coon. Good size and shape with excellent boning. Strong head which is nicely balanced and a good overall length. Large ears which are well furnished with tips and tufts present. Green eyes which are large and set slightly oblique. Fairly full cheeks. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Nice square muzzle with firm chin. Good bite. Well prepared coat of warm brown and a good texture showing good markings to face, legs and tail. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads and spectacles. Barring to legs with rings to a long tapering tail. White chest, underparts and feet. He also has a white chevron on his face which covers his whisker pads and nose.

RES GRPC MR & MRS BUNCE’S IGR PR COONTASTIC THE MINSTREL (64 31t) MN 27/10/05 

Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon. Excellent shape and size, body large, solid and muscular. He stands on substantial legs on large firm paws. Head medium in length with ears that are large, tall, wide at the base and e Full and round gold eyes set slightly oblique and spaced well apart. Nose of even width set high on the head. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Level bite. Cheeks fairly full, square muzzle and firm chin. Well prepared coat of a warm copper brown with dense black classic tabby markings. M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints. Well defined oysters, butterfly and spine lines. White chin, chest, feet and underparts. Very well furnished tail, tapering slightly towards the tip and reaching the shoulders with well defined rings.

Chinchilla who is cobby in shape and stands low on the legs. Very pretty young lady. Round head with excellent width between neat well furnished ears. Round emerald green eyes outlined in black. Short broad nose with good break and full brick leather lined in black. Bite is slightly undershot. Full cheeks. Coat full and flowing and beautifully prepared. Pure white undercoat with even tipping on the back, flanks, head and tail. Stomach, chest and ear furnishings pure white. Legs are slightly shaded with the tipping. Dinky tail.

Red shaded cameo. Cobby body on short stocky legs. Lovely balanced Persian type. Round broad head with excellent width between neat ears that have silver furnishings. Round expressive copper eyes. Short snub nose with good stop and full pink leather. Bite is slightly undershot but acceptable. Full fat cheeks, firm chin. Well prepared coat showing a very light undercoat that was evenly shaded with red. The intensity of colour to his face and along the spine was deeper. Tail short with a full brush.

Chocolate Point Birman of lovely feminine Birman type. Body is long and she stands on thick set legs on short strong paws. Skull is round and she has good width between medium sized ears. Almost round deep blue eyes. Nose is medium in length with the required dip in profile. Good bite. Strong rounded muzzle with wide cheeks and firm chin. Good bite. Well prepared coat that is ivory in colour, ruff framing her pretty face. Coat is long and silky to the touch. Pure white gloves that are scalloped. Socks that are medium in length with gauntlets that taper halfway up the back legs. Points are a dark shade of chocolate and matching. Tail bushy and in proportion to her body.

Lilac Point Birman of good Birman type. Body long and massive standing on legs which are medium in length on short strong paws. Skull broad and rounded with ears that are medium in size and spaced well apart. Eyes almost round and a good blue colour. Level bite. Cheeks full and round, chin a little weak. Nose is medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Well prepared magnolia coat with matching pinkish grey points. Lovely full ruff and trousers. The gloves are full and scalloped with pure white socks that are medium in length. Gauntlets are a good length and taper to a point just below the hocks. Tail short and bushy.

Has to be my take home kitten of the day. Blue Point Birman who is well grown and balanced for his age and has a lovely temperament. Body is long and he stands on thick set legs on short strong paws. Skull is broad and rounded with good width between ears which are medium in size. Eyes are deep blue and almost round. Nose is medium in length with a slight dip in profile and full blue leather. Good bite. Full cheeks with firm chin. Well prepared bluish white coat. Pure white gloves that are scalloped. Socks are pure white and medium in length. Gauntlets tapered and also medium in length. Coat is long and silken with ruff developing. Points a blue grey and all matching. Tail is bushy and medium in length.

1ST BOB MRS N GARLAND’S MEADOWMAINES EVANIA (64 41s) F 14/5/09 

Classic Silver Tabby Maine Coon. Body a good size and shape for her age. Good strong head of medium length and good breadth. Ears are tall and large, wide at the base and spaced well apart. Hazel eyes that are full and round and set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Level bite. Cheeks filling nicely with firm chin and square muzzle. Well prepared coat displaying good tabby markings. Black markings on a silver ground colour. M to forehead, spectacles around eyes, spotted whisker pads, thumbprints to ears. Shoulder markings forming an outline of a butterfly with oysters well defined. Well defined spine lines. Tail well ringed and reaching the shoulders and was well furnished.

2ND MRS J JOINER’S JEMAHAN RAINBOW CASCADE (64 41es) F 26/7/09

Tortie Silver Tabby Maine Coon. Body long and she is well grown for her age. Head medium in length with ears that are a little small but they are well tufted and spaced well apart. Round hazel eyes that are set slightly oblique. Nose of uniform width with a shallow concave curve. Muzzle could be a little squarer and chin recedes a little. Level bite. Cheeks need to fill a little. Well-prepared coat consisting of an undercoat and glossy top coat. Ruff and breeches developing well. Tabby markings showing well on a silver agouti ground overlaid with shades of red. Tail long and at least the length of her body and well ringed.

Lilac Point Birman of good balanced Birman type. Body long and he stands on legs which are medium in length on short strong paws. Skull broad and rounded with ears that are medium in size and spaced well apart. Eyes almost round and a good blue colour. Level bite. Cheeks full and round chin slightly weak. Nose is medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Well prepared magnolia coat with matching pinkish grey points. Lovely full ruff and trousers. The gloves are full and scalloped with pure white socks that are medium in length. Gauntlets are a good length and taper to a point just below the hocks. Tail short and bushy.

RED, CREAM or TORTIE POINT BIRMAN NEUTER MALE

1PC MR B TACKLEY’S CH & GR PR KLASSYKLOGS KABERNET (13c5) MN 11/3/04

 Red point Birman. Good size and body conformation and well balanced for Birman type. Broad and rounded skull with medium sized ears that are spaced nicely apart. Almost round deep blue eyes. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Level bite. Cheeks rounded with firm chin. Pure white symmetrical gloves that finish at the angle of the paws with white socks that cover the entire back paw. Gauntlets a good length finishing just below the point of the hock. Well prepared coat of pale cream with full ruff, there is some slight surface shading. Rich red points which are all matching just showing faint tabby markings on forehead. Tail medium in length and in proportion to his body. Lovely temperament.

2ND MRS S LEECH’S KYNOBI KREEMKRAKER (13c7) MN 4/3/09 

Cream Birman. Body long and massive. He stands on medium sized legs with short strong paws. Skull strong broad and rounded. Ears are medium in size and spaced well apart. Eyes are almost round, pale blue and spaced nicely apart. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Level bite. Cheeks could be a little fuller. Well prepared coat showing some surface shading and a very nice length and texture. Points colour is a rather hot shade of cream. Pure white symmetrical gloves with pure white socks that cover the entire back paws. The gauntlets could be a little longer. Tail bushy and medium in length.

BOB MRS J WORMALD’S IGR CH & GR PR DANLEIGH STARBURST (13c6) FN 25/4/04 

Seal Tortie Point Birman. Good size and shape. She is very pretty with a lovely temperament. Round broad head with medium sized ears that are spaced nicely apart. Eyes almost round and a deep blue colour. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round. Good bite. Well prepared fawn coat. Points are a seal brown intermingled with shades of red. Blaze to nose. All points are broken with colour. Pure white symmetrical gloves and socks which cover the entire back paws. Good length to gauntlets. Tail short and bushy.

1ST MISS V WYATT’S RISINGMOON HALF-NELSON (70 9) M 15/4/09 

Red Tabby Exotic of well balanced Persian type. Cobby in shape and standing low on short legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round copper eyes. Short broad nose with good stop and full leather. Good bite. Full fat cheeks, strong chin. Dense plush coat of a rich red with deeper red tabby markings that show a clear butterfly, oysters to flanks and spine lines. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Tail in proportion to body.

2ND MRS C TURNER-RUSSELL’S VIVALDI ANNALISA (70 10) F 14/4/07

Pretty Tipped Exotic. Good shape and size. Round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive emerald green eyes. Short snub nose with brick leather. Good bite. Full cheeks chin a little weak. Coat is dense and plush standing well away from her body and full of life. It is evenly tipped with black. Tail in proportion to her body.

Blue of good shape and size. Well balanced Persian type. Round head with good width between neat ears. Round eyes of pale orange. Short broad nose with good break. Full cheeks. Good bite. Coat well prepared and a lovely shade of pastel blue, it is a little unsound at present. Tail in proportion to body.

 Lilac Tortie Birman who is beautifully balanced for Birman type and very pretty. Body is long and she stands on legs that are medium in length on short strong paws. Skull is broad and rounded and her ears are medium in size and spaced well apart. Eyes are almost round and medium blue in colour. Nose medium in length with slight dip in profile. Good bite. Cheeks full and round with well developed chin. Coat well prepared showing slight surface shading. Points are lilac intermingled with shades of cream. She has a lovely cream/lilac blaze down the centre of her nose. All points show lilac and cream. Pure white gloves that finish at the angle of the paw and leg. Socks cover the entire back paws. Gauntlets are medium in length. Tail bushy and medium in length.

2nd MISS E MORRIS’S NOYNAROCK SOLVLYNX AVMANEN (67 18) M 5/4/09

Silver Tabby NFC. Body is big and strong, long and muscular. He stands high on his legs with back legs longer than front ones. Paws are large and round. Head is triangular in shape and he has a good straight profile. Ears are large and set high. Eyes are large, well opened and set slightly oblique. Good bite. Coat is a good length and he has a full ruff and knickerbockers. He has a woolly undercoat covered by a coarser overcoat. Tail is long and bushy and reaches the shoulders.

AC SOMALI ADULT 1ST MRS E WATTS’S GR CH EMANAN GERONIMO (63) M 3/3/02 

Usual Somali of medium build and beautifully balanced. Body is firm and lithe, muscular with a fairly long tail that tapers. He is alert and smiling. Head is a moderate wedge showing gentle contours. From the front there is a shallow indentation forming the muzzle and in profile there is a slight nose break. Ears are set wide apart, broad at the base and proportionately large and tufted. Eyes are large, amber in colour, almond shaped and set obliquely. They are accentuated by a dark surround and encircled by lighter coloured spectacles. Level bite. Coat is soft and fine, dense and lying flat along the spine. His coat is a very rich golden brown with an apricot base coat ticked with black. Chest, belly, under tail, inside of the legs and breeches are rich apricot. Full ruff and breeches.

2ND MR & MRS BULLIVANT’S BARANCHRI GUINEVERE (63cs) F 13/2/09

Blue Silver Somali. Body firm and lithe standing on long legs with oval feet and well tufted toes. Broad head curving to a firm wedge showing a wonderful smiley face. Muzzle is gently rounded and her profile shows a slight nose break. Ears set wide apart, proportionately large, pricked and well cupped. Green eyes, large, almond shaped and set slightly oblique accentuated by spectacles. Firm chin and level bite. Coat soft and fine, dense and lying flat along her spine. Coat is a glacial, silvery blue ticked with a darker blue. The ticking to ears tips and tufts, facial markings, top and tip of tail, toe tufts and heels is blue. Chest, belly, under tail, inside legs and breeches silvery white. She has very slight tarnishing to her face, legs and chest. Tail long and well furnished, length balances with body.

1ST MS A SLEVIN’S ASHANNAS PRINCE OF PEACE (13c2) MN 19/4/05 

Blue Point Birman who has good well balanced Birman type. Body is long and he stands on thick set legs on short strong paws. Skull is broad and rounded with good width between ears that are medium in size. Almost round eyes of medium blue. Nose is medium in length with a slight dip in profile and full blue leather. Good bite. Full cheeks but chin slightly weak. Well prepared coat that is quite shady but it is clearing from the roots. Pure white gloves which are slightly scalloped and finish at the angle of the paws. Socks are pure white and cover the entire back paws. Good length to gauntlets which taper to finish just below the level of the hocks. Coat is long and silken with a full ruff. Points are blue grey and all matching. Tail is bushy and medium in length.

2ND MISS V ROSE’S SNOWCAPE KEYS (67 31dts) MN 7/9/08

Red Silver Tabby and White NFC of excellent size and shape. Good length to body which is long and muscular. Standing high on the legs with back legs longer than front ones. Well tufted paws. Good shape to head, ears are large, well tufted and they are spaced nicely apart. Full round eyes that are well opened, spaced well apart and set slightly oblique. Level bite. Good straight profile. Coat good length and texture and well prepared. Woolly undercoat covered with by a smooth top coat. Tail long and bushy reaching past the shoulders.

3RD MRS S WILKINSON’S GR PR COONTASTIC EDUARDO (64 41sw) MN 29/4/08 

A beautiful Maine Coon who would have been placed higher but he was not in the best of moods today which is unusual in this breed. I think something had upset most of the cats along this row as they all where a little twitchy!
