BUCKS OXON & BERKS CAT SOCIETY SHOW
Saturday 20th September 2008
Judge: Charis WhiteMy thanks to Sandie Holloway who put up with me yet again while she stewarded for the day! Sandie puts so much effort into her handling of the cats – she does really well with the Orientals too – and is quiet and gentle in her approach. It’s always a pleasure to work with her. Thanks, Sandie. I look forward to our next outing together.
AC BRITISH CHAMPION
MALE
GCC - LORTON-HOBBS’ CH LORASTON LED ZEPPELIN – Blue & White Bi-Colour 22/04/06He has a good solid frame with a deep body which is just a little long for cobbiness at the moment, and which stands on slightly long but well boned legs with large rounded paws. Broad head – he is not yet fully mature and the cheeks are filling out well. Slightly large ears are well set. Large round eyes of good colour. Broad nose, level bite in slightly tapered muzzle and firm chin – just a little discolouration from previous acne here. Quite crisp coat is dense and short. The medium blue areas are sound, but a little silvery in places. He has plenty of white in proportion to the colour with a nice white blaze and a full narrow white collar. Clean white areas on his body – just some stray white hairs into the blue in places. Full coloured tail id of good length to balance to his body and has a rounded tip.
RES.GCC – WEST’S CH WESTWAYS LITTLE BILL – Cream Colourpointed 25/01/06Solid and cobby but quite a compact frame for a male. He could be slightly larger with a little more breadth of body. Good broad round British head with neat, well set ears. Round eyes of blue shade. Good profile to broad nose, level bite and firm chin. His coat is showing the effects of our weird summer – it needs grooming out and more preparation and is rather open in appearance although the length and texture is good. The body colour is creamy white with cream points colour – evenly matched and showing some acceptable barring in places. Medium length tail with rounded tip. Good temperament.
FEMALE
GCC – LORTON-HOBBS’ CH LORASTON MODESTY BLAIZE – Blue Tortie & White 05/01/05Lovely cobby mature female with a large broad deep body which stands on short sturdy legs with rounded paws. Broad round British head is held on a thick neck, and she has neat ears, well spaced, and good rounded cheeks. Round expressive eyes of orange, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. The coat is dense and crisp, just a fraction long. There is at least one-third of white evident in proportions of the colours. She has an attractive blaze and a partial collar, and white on her chest and tummy. The blue areas are a little silvered and the cream is just fading slightly in density at the roots. She has some good patching, and a little mingling in places. Tail – good length, thick at the base and rounded at the tip – is fully coloured. I gather she had a very good day so congratulations on all her successes on the day.
BRITISH LILAC NEUTER, FEMALE
PC, BOB – WRIGHT’S KITAMAAT SERENDIPITY 13/02/06Cobby female of good weight and bone with a nicely rounded head. She has a broad deep body, short strong legs and firm round paws. Ears are a fraction large for balance but have good width between. Round but deep set pale orange eyes. Nice full cheeks. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Her coat is a little long and slightly soft. The coat is sound but the lilac lacks the pinkish tone desirable, being a little fawn in tone. She was out ‘undressed’ today as she obviously usually wears a collar!
BRITISH CREAM NEUTER, MALE
PC, BOB – POTTER’S KABENBE SOUL SURVIVOR 26/05/05Super large framed male of good bone and balance. He still has quite a young head for his age, the cheeks are not fully rounded and he has a slightly narrowed tapered muzzle. Well set ears of medium size. Lovely deep orange eyes. Broad nose and good profile, level bite and firm chin. Dense crisp, coat is quite short. The colour is a warm sound cream, he just has ghost spotted pattern across his body along his sides. Good temperament.
ORIENTAL LONGHAIR ADULT
BOB – TAYLOR’S GR CH PIPPASTRO SILMARILUS – Black Silver Shaded female
AC ORIENTAL BICOLOUR KITTEN
FEMALE
1ST, BOB, READ’S ADAJAN BEWITCHED –Chocolate Tabby Point & White Longhair 19/02/08Pleasing body shape, long and firm, standing on long slim legs with oval paws. Long tapered tail balances. Medium triangular wedge is set on a slender neck. Large ears are well set with wide bases – she just tended to flatten them at times. Oriental shaped eyes of clear intense blue slant towards her nose – the shape improved when she relaxed. Fairly straight profile, level bite, chin firming. The coat is developing in length, with a fine silky texture, lying flat to her body. The plume is developing along her tail. The coloured areas of her body are ivory. The points colour is still settling – the chocolate is quite a pale, but reasonably warm, shade. On her forehead above a white patch, the top half of the ‘M’ can be seen, and she has stripes on her cheeks. Thumb prints are evident on her ears. On her legs, the chocolate is still very pale as yet, darker on the hind legs, where the colour is on the backs of her legs with white down the front. Some leg markings evident – acceptably paler at her age. Fully coloured tail. She has one-third proportions of white to colour, with white on her face between her eyes, and below her eyes running down to her muzzle and chin. The white then extends down from her throat along the length of her tummy to her abdomen. It comes up slightly higher on her left side and creeps up onto her right side from her chest. She has white on her left shoulder extending down to the ‘elbow’, white on her front legs and paws, and there is white extending down her back legs to her paws. An attractive kitten.
IMP GR PR NEUTER MALE
IGPC – JANICKI’S UK & IMP GR PR THAIRANO TILLERMAN – Foreign White 07/11/03.Well! He obviously didn’t need any certificate that I gave him on the day but it is always good to see cats of this quality and level, and get my hands on them! He has a good balanced muscular frame, standing on long slim legs with oval paws. He is a fraction broad in the body at this age but it does not detract at all. Well balanced triangular wedge is held on a slender neck. Large ears are set well and follow the lines of the wedge. Nice blue eyes of Oriental shape which slant towards his nose – which just has a light bump in profile. Bite is untidy but level. Firm chin. Super short fine close-lying coat is pure clean white. His long tapered tail just seems a fraction short for his fuller body. Lovely boy for condition and temperament.
ORIENTAL SMOKE NEUTER, MALE
PC, BOB PR GENTANTIQUE AVALON – Cinnamon Smoke 18/12/06Large firm muscular cat of good weight to long body, standing on long slim legs with oval paws. Triangular wedge is well set on a slender neck. Ears are of good shape but could be a little larger for balance to his size, and a little wider set. Oriental shaped eyes of pale green slant towards his nose. Nose has a slight dip in profile. Level bite, chin lines up. Short fine glossy coat lies close to his body. There is good evidence of the near-white undercoat across the body and neck, probably about half the hair length in places, and giving a good contrast to the top colour, which is a slightly pale shade of cinnamon. Some acceptable ghost tabby markings in places. Long tapered tail.
AC BRITISH NOVICE ADULT
1ST BOND’S MAROZKA ANASTASIYA – Black Tipped female 20/04/06Rather small and immature in appearance for over two years of age. She has a neat round head, topped with slightly tall ears. Super green eyes are well lined with black. Cheeks still need to fill out to balance her head. Good profile and level bite. Her coat is dense, fairly short along her sides but longer down the spinal area. The varying lengths impact on the evenness of the black tipping and the tipping is more even along the sides than down her back. Pale silver undercoat. Good tail.
AC BRITISH LIMIT ADULT
1ST WEST’S WESTWAYS EDWARD – Blue male 15/03/07Well grown male – solid and broad in the body. Good bone to legs and paws. Broad round head – ears are rather large for balance as yet. Cheeks filling. Round gold eyes – could not decide if he still has a residual green rim or not. Short broad nose is slightly flat in profile. Level bite in rather square muzzle. Firm chin. Good dense crisp coat of medium sound blue. Tail balances to body. He has good qualities already, with the maturity of head under development.
AC BRITISH MAIDEN KITTEN
1ST ANDERSON’S CURLU OSCAR – Cream Colourpointed Selkirk Rex Longhair male 11/05/08Lovely type to this kitten with good head shape and well set ears – he just tended to bonnet them a little at times. Large round open expressive eyes of blue, good profile, level bite and firm chin. Good padded muzzle developing – with broken whiskers. Lovely plush coat of good length with plenty of loose random unstructured curls all over the place. The body is creamy white with cream points colour. Well plumed tail of good length to balance. A striking kitten.
2ND LE MONNIER’S MARDENKA MILITARY-TWOSTEP – Blue male 03/06/08Super cobby baby with neat, well rounded head of excellent breadth. Ears are just set a fraction upright. Round expressive eyes, with good colour developing. Nice profile, level bite and firm chin. Short dense coat with a good feel to it. There are a number of shades of blue evident at the moment as the whole coat is still settling but it is sound and there is no silvering. Balanced tail. Good temperament – a promising kitten.
3RD CROWTHER’S TRUBRIT JAMILIA BLUE – Blue female
X 3RD JENESON’S WESTWAYS DILLON – Cream Colourpointed male
AC BRITISH DEBUTANTE NEUTER
1ST PERRY & HANDYSIDE’S BRIGHTHELM SILVER GHENGHIS – Black Silver Tabby male 06/04/07Broad deep four-square cat of good weight. Large round head with width between his ears. Round expressive eyes. Good profile, level bite and firm chin. Dense coat of dark silver ground colour which contrasts with the black tabby pattern. Super spotty toes. Ringed tail with black tip.
2ND IVES’ WELLMAR BOAZ – Blue Spotted male 31/05/07Large frame with head still filling out to balance. Well spaced ears and good round orange eyes. Good profile, level bite and firm chin. Coat is a little course in texture, and flat-lying. The ground colour is a dark shade of bluish fawn, and some of the deep blue pattern gets a little lost in definition. He has quite a lot of barring on his sides and shoulders where the spots are linked together – although his left side is better than his right! Spotty tummy and ringed tail.
