LANCASHIRE CAT CLUB

14 March 2009

Report of Mrs Chris Bamford

I thank Chris, Janet and Vicky for the invitation to judge at their show. Lisa Buck stepped in when my booked steward fell ill. Although she was out of her comfort zone (Selkirks), Lisa was a competent steward and we will work together again.

Black Adult, Male:

1CC & BOB. OAKES’ JENZJEWELS ZACHARIE. (1) 16/05/08.

Large young male with lovely type. He had a good cobby shape to his body with nice heavy bone and a short tail. His round head was not perfectly smooth but he had good width between neat ears. Round mid orange coloured eyes, broad nose with a good break, level bite, fat cheeks and a strong chin. His good length coat was in excellent condition and was sound to the roots. Lovely temperament.

Blue Adult, Male:

1 CC. ROGERS’ BESSJET BLUE DIAMOND. (3) 04/10/06.

Blue of good type who was made up to champion on the day – congratulations to his owner. Good cobby shape to his body, strong bone and a tail length in proportion. Round top of head with neat ears set well apart, round deep orange eyes, broad nose with a good break, almost level bite, fat cheeks and a good depth of chin. His full coat was soft and nicely prepared and although it was almost sound I would have liked to see it a touch paler for perfection.

2. HOLDEN’S SHIMBA SEABISCUIT. (3) 23/02/04.

Although he had a very pale coat he lacked the type of the winner and was not very happy on the day. His cobby body had good bone a tail length in proportion. He had good width between tiny ears, round orange eyes a little deep set, broad nose with a deep break and small nostrils. His bite is a fair bit undershot but he had good cheeks and a nice chin. His coat was very full, pale and sound to the roots but it had a slightly woolly texture to it.

Female:

1 CC & BOB MANNING’S CHAKEL LOIS LANE. (3) 01/03/08.

Just a year old and with really nice type. She has an excellent cobby shape to her body, nice bone and a tail length in proportion. Her round head has good width between neat ears, round deep orange eyes, a broad nose with a good break and large nostrils and leather, almost level bite, fat cheeks and a good chin. Her very soft coat is well prepared, not too long and a pale to mid blue in colour, almost sound.

AC Exotic SH Self Adult, Male:

BOB only STEPHENSON’S GR CH WESTHOLME MISSING LINK. (70 1) 03/05/07.

Black Exotic of lovely type who was not in the open but well worthy of the best of breed. He had a good cobby shape to his body with strong bone and a tail length in proportion. He had a well rounded head with neat ears set well apart, round eyes of a deep orange colour, broad nose with a deep break, wide level bite, nicely rounded cheeks and a good chin. His coat of sound deepest black was plush, soft and dense and stood out well from his body. Lovely temperament.

Female:

1CC ROGERS’ CH MILNUSS ELLIEANNA. (70 1) 24/05/07.

Black Exotic with very nice type and lovely temperament. She had a compact cobby shape to her body with nice bone, a short tail. Well rounded head with neat ears set well apart, round pale orange eyes, level bite, very short broad nose with a deep break, well rounded cheeks and a good depth of chin. She had a good length dense black coat, soft and plush and paler at the roots.

 Tortoiseshell Kitten:

1 & BOB SMITH’S BESSJET TIGERLILY. (11) 11/07/08.

Well grown eight months old kitten of excellent type. She had a lovely cobby body, short fat legs, strong bone and a short tail. Her head is perfectly round with good width between small ears, round copper coloured eyes, broad nose with a deep break, almost level bite, fat cheeks and a good depth of chin. Her coat was soft, silky and very well presented with patches of sound black and shades of red, most of which were a really rich colour. She had a good distribution of colour, and patches, over her entire body with all her legs and her tail broken by colour. Her face was broken by small patches of colour with a greater proportion of black to the top of her face and head. Wonderful temperament.

Bi-Coloured Kitten, Female:

1 & BOB. CHARLAN’S ALGERNON PEGGY SUE. (12a1) 14/10/08.

Black and White kitten aged just five months and with nice type. She had a good cobby body, nice bone and a tail length in proportion. Her nicely rounded head had good width between neat ears, round eyes of a muddy colour, broad nose with a good break, almost level bite, good cheeks and a nice chin. Her coat was soft, silky and fine in texture and needed just a touch more grooming underneath. Her coat showed the deepest intensity of black on her head but it was sound over all her coat. Her white was not perfectly sparkling with some very slight staining on her face and legs. Her back left leg had colour whilst the rest of her legs had only colour to the pads. She had one patch of white on her back, an all black tail, a white tummy, chest and bib. On her black face she had an almost symmetrical triangle of white ending with the point just above her eyes. The rest of her head was black except for white ear tufts.

Miscellaneous Classes

AC Persian Radius, Adult:

1. BROWN’S FALABELLA DOMINO. (12a1) 08/07/07.

Black and White female with quite nice type. She had a very compact cobby shape to her body with excellent bone and a short full tail. Her head was nicely rounded with neat ears set well apart, round orange coloured eyes, almost level bite, very short nose with a deep break, fat cheeks and a strong chin. Her coat was a good length with sound black and clean white except for some staining on her face. Her coat was predominantly white in colour with two large patches of black on her back, an all black tail and black to all her legs. The black on her face was to the top, including her ears, and down the sides with the middle forming a white triangle ending just above her eyes. This triangle was offset to the left so that she had black over her right eye but none over her left one. The black went over her head down to her neck at the back.

2. FARMER’S CH HERRAFARESIAH AMBASSADOR. (3) 02/04/07.

Blue male of good type with a cobby shape to his body, nice bone and a tail length in proportion. Nicely rounded head with neat ears, short nose with a deep break, round orange eyes, almost level bite, good cheeks and a nice chin. His full mid blue coat was not quite sound.
