NOTTS & DERBY CAT CLUB24 January 2009Report of Mrs Chris BamfordI thank Beryl, Judy and the rest of the committee for the invitation to judge at their show. Sue Danks stewarded for me and it was a real pleasure to work with her again. AC Persian Self Champion Male: Only two entered but both of them were worthy of the Grand on the day.1 GR CC STEPHENSON’S GR CH WESTHOLME MISSING LINK. (70 1) 03/05/07.Black Exotic of lovely type. He had a cobby shape to his body with nice bone and a tail length in proportion. Well rounded head with neat ears set well apart, round expressive eyes of a deep orange colour, broad nose with a deep break, wide level bite, nicely rounded cheeks and a good chin. His coat of sound deepest black was plush, soft and dense and stood out well from his body. Lovely temperament. Res GR CC. STEWART’S GR CH LAZANE ON CLOUD NINE. (2a) 08/06/07.Orange-Eyed White of good type who ran the winner very close indeed on the day. Excellent cobby shape with good bone and a tail length in proportion. Round head with neat ears set well apart, broad nose with a deep break, round eyes of mid orange, scissor bite, fat cheeks and a strong chin. Full coat, soft, silky and well presented. The colour was clean white with just a touch of staining to his back feet. Lovely to handle. Red Self Adult, Female:1ST CC & BOB MORRIS’ COUNTRYGIRL CHERRYBLOSSOM. (4) 16/04/08.Only just 9 months old and a really promising young lady with lovely type but, understandably, just a little immature at present. She had a cobby shape to her body with good bone and a short tail. Nice round head with good width between small ears, short broad nose with a deep break, round deep orange eyes, level bite, fat cheeks and a strong chin. Her soft, silky coat was perfectly presented. It showed a really sound rich red colour with some tabby markings but she is still young and hopefully they will clear as she matures. Miscellaneous classes AC Junior Cat, Male:1. STEPHENSON’S GR CH WESTHOLME MISSING LINK.2. MORRIS’ HEATHROSE ROOMS ONFIRE. (6D) 02/04/08.Red Smoke just over nine months old. He has a good cobby shape to his body with nice bone and a tail length in proportion. Well rounded head with neat ears set well apart, round orange eyes, broad nose with excellent nostrils and nose leather, level bite, round cheeks and a good chin. At the moment his coat is not very long but shows a good rich red colour and is well presented. He had a full mask, with pale spectacles and showing some tabby markings on his forehead. His ruff was pale red and did not go completely around his head. His ears furnishings were also pale red and his ears were a really deep rich red colour. The contrast to his coat has improved since I saw him two weeks ago but in some areas it is still pale red in colour and not white. His coat also showed some of tabby markings. He has a wonderful temperament AC Senior Cat, Female:1 MORRIS’ GR CH WESTHOLME CAPTIVATION. (11) 31/07/05.Tortoiseshell with lovely overall type and in excellent condition. She had a nice cobby shape to her body with strong bone and short fat legs. Her short tail was well furnished. Her smooth round head had good width between neat ears. Round mid orange coloured eyes. Short broad nose with a deep break. Level bite with the top set very slightly concave. Fat cheeks and strong chin. Her full coat was soft and well prepared showing sound black and shades of red, some of which were a very deep rich red in colour. She had large patches of both colours on her body and tail. All her feet were broken by small patches of colour. Her face is broken by small patches of rich colour with the exception of her black ears and being mainly black under both eyes. Wonderful temperament. AC Aristocrat:1. ELMS’ NOYNAROCK THYRA. (67 31et) 21/02/06.Tortie Tabby and White Norwegian Forest Cat with lovely type. Well built female with good muscle and build. Her bushy tail just reached to her shoulder. Her head is nice with a straight profile, strong chin, well tufted ears correctly set, large expressive green eyes oval in shape. Her coat was glossy with a dense undercoat, a full ruff and nice knickerbockers. 2. ROBERTS’ BEAUBRIGHT SNOWANGEL-LILY. (13c2) 11/12/06.Large Blue Birman female with nice type, good bone and a bushy tail in proportion to her body. She has a broad skull with a medium length nose that showed a slight dip in profile, well rounded cheeks and a strong chin. Very deep blue eyes almost round in shape. Her front paws had symmetrical white gloves and the back paws had white socks, well matched. Her coat was long and silky in texture with matching points colours. She did have a little body shading on her otherwise nice white coat. 3. EVANS & DUNN’S ELMCOON SUNNDANCE KID. (64 43ds) 21/01/07.AC Breeders Cat:1. DELANEY’S DEENLAY MISSDIOR. (13C4) 30/03/08.Lilac Birman female with excellent type and a really nice coat. She had a good shape to her body with a medium tail length in proportion to her body. Her head shape was very good with a nice wedge, a very slight dip in profile and very deep blue expressive eyes. Excellent long coat, silky and with a full ruff. Her coat colour was almost white with hardly any shading and points of pale lilac that matched. She had a full mask. Her gloves and socks matched except for the back left sock which was very slightly longer. 2. EVANS & DUNN’S ELMCOON SUNNDANCE KID. (63 43ds) 21/01/07.Red Shaded Silver Maine Coon male of lovely type. He had a good body shape with nice bone and a tail that reached his shoulder. He had a medium length head with a shallow dip in the profile of his nose and a square muzzle. The ears were tall and well tufted. His green eyes were full and round. His glossy coat had a thick undercoat, was well presented and with a ruff. 3. DAVIES’ GR CH RAGSHAVEN BUSTERS LEGACY. (66 31a) 27/03/05.Blue Bi-Colour Ragdoll male of good type. He is a large cat with a broad head, rounded muzzle and firm chin. He had large very deep blue eyes. His tail reached his shoulder and was bushy. His silky coat was a good length and very dense with some white to his shoulders and face. His points colour was medium blue and matched in colour. 4. SAYE’S ESAYA SMARTIEPANTS. (13c9) 24/04/08.AC Cat Not Bred by Exhibitor:1. DOBLE’S CH ESAYA POPPYOFBULLAMOOR (13C5) 29/06/04.Red Birman female of good type and superb temperament. She had a lovely body shape with nice bone and a bushy tail of good length. Her head is strong with a medium length nose that had a very slight dip in the profile. Good sized ears set well apart. Almost round eyes of the deepest blue colour. Her coat was in excellent condition, long and silky with a full ruff around her neck. Her coat colour was very pale with just a little shading to the body. All her points colour matched and were a good red colour. She had nice matching gloves and socks with the right sock just a touch shorter than the left one. Excellent temperament. 2. BLADES’ DOTCOM LINCOLN (64 41W) 05/06/07.Huge Brown Tabby and White Maine Coon male of good type and with a very alert expression. He has excellent bone structure, and a long flowing tail. His condition and coat preparation were really lovely. He had a good length head with a slight concave dip to the profile of the nose. Good ear size and set with nice tufts to them. Green eyes that were well rounded and set well apart. His coat was glossy with a good undercoat and a full ruff. 3. WHITBY’S GR CH FELONIE SUCETTER PLAYBOY. (13C13) 09/06/07.AC Breeders Kitten: A large class of quality kittens, most of whom won Best of Breed in their opens!1. SLEVIN’S ASHANNAS MAMMA MIA. (13c1) 09/07/08.Seal Birman female and a real little stunner. She has a good shape to her body, lovely bone and a full tail in proportion to her body. She had a perfect head shape with a very slight dip in the profile, medium sized ears set well apart, beautiful deep blue eyes and full cheeks and well developed chin. Her full coat was long and silky with a full ruff and in excellent condition. Her points colour was a very dark brown with a very pale beige to her body with no shading at all. Both her front and back paws showed perfect symmetrical markings. 2. DAVIES’ RAGSHAVEN GUMAMAGIC. (66 31a) 25/06/08.Blue Bi-Colour Ragdoll female of good type. She had a large body, nice bone and a tail in proportion. Broad head with well developed cheeks, round deep blue eyes, slight dip in her nasal profile and medium sized ears. Her silky coat was well prepared with a medium sound blue colour to her body, tail and points. She had white to her tummy and legs with a white “V” to her face. 3. SAYE’S ESAYA SPELLBOUND. (13c3) 15/07/08.Very pretty Chocolate Birman female of nice type. She is a good shape with nice bone and a bushy tail in proportion to her body. She had a broad head, well rounded with a slight dip to the nose and almost round deep blue eyes. Her long silky coat showed nice milky chocolate colours points with a clear ivory coloured body. Her face did show some slight brindling to the chocolate colour. Her front paws had white symmetrical gloves and the back feet had matching socks with a small patch of colour in the right gauntlet. Excellent temperature. 4. DOBLE’S BULLAMOOR SKYSTHELIMIT. (13c12) 28/08/08.AC Kitten Not Bred by Exhibitor:1. JOHNSON’S ESAYA ZINFANDEL. (13C5) 26/04/08.Really nice Red Birman male showing good type and just a couple of days short of being an adult. Large body with a bushy tail in proportion to his body. He had a nice head with a dip in his profile and large very deep blue eyes. His cheeks were full and round and he had medium ears set well apart. His long silky coat was a very pale cream to his body with no shading and red points with the legs a touch paler than his head and tail. His socks, gloves and gauntlets were all perfectly symmetrical. He has a really lovely temperament. 2. STANLEY’S SHEERCLASS APPLE MAC. (64 41as) 12/08/08.Handsome Blue Silver Tabby Maine Coon male with good type. He had a large body with lovely bone and good muscle and a long tail reaching his shoulder. Good sized head with a medium length, slight concave curve to the nose, round gold coloured eyes, level bite and full cheeks and firm chin. His coat was well presented with a dense undercoat. He had some very slight tarnishing on his back. 3. LONGLEYS’S ELMCOON MISS YOU NIGHTS. (64 41) 30/08/08.AC Aristocrat, Neuter:1. LEESE’S SHANLIVLE DELTA. ( 67 22) 13/04/07.Tortie and White Norwegian Forest Cat with really striking colouring to her coat. A large cat, muscular with good bone and a long bushy tail. She had the required triangular shaped head with a straight profile, large well tufted ears, large green eyes and a strong chin. Her coat had a woolly undercoat covered by a smooth overcoat with a full ruff and knickerbockers. The rich red and deep black colours to her coat made her a really attractive cat. 2. TAYLOR’S KADACOON FYTCHEY BEAR. (64 15) 05/01/08.Black Maine Coon male who was not a happy chap when I came to judge him in the afternoon. He is a huge cat with good muscle and a tail that reached his shoulder. Nice head shape with large well tufted ears set high on his head and well apart, round deep amber coloured eyes, good dip in the nasal profile, square muzzle and a firm chin. His coat was a glossy sound black with a dense undercoat, a full ruff and nice shaggy breeches. AC Visitors Neuter:1. GROVES’ GR CH SPELLSINGER MYSTIC MELODY. (13C2) 12/07/01.Blue Birman female aged six and a half and a really nice lady. She had a large body shape with a bushy tail in proportion to her body. Her head was strong and broad with a slight dip in the profile, well spaced medium ears, almost round deep blue eyes, round cheeks and a full chin. Her silky coat was a blue white in colour with very little shading and nice blue points. Her symmetrical sock, gloves and gauntlets were exactly as required in the standard. Lovely temperament. 2. DALE’S PR ADSETLO ROCKET. (67 31T) 16/11/06.Male Brown Tabby and White Norwegian Forest Cat in excellent condition with very nice type. He had a large powerful body with good muscle and a bushy tail that reached his shoulders. His head was a nice triangular shape with large ears set high and well tufted, a straight profile to his nose. His expressive green eyes were large and oval. His coat was full and he had a really woolly undercoat with a smooth overcoat in good condition and well prepared. 3. THOMPSON’S UK GR PR FORMONA APOLLO.(13C1) 27/04/01.
