CoonTICA Easter Purrade Show

25th & 26th April

Milton Keynes

The final UK show of the 2008-09 season promised to be a good one with a large entry of some of the UK's best cats, 14 rings, and a good selection of judges.

The show was managed by Ros and Martin Wood, both of whom have a wealth of Tica experience. The hall was dressed with a spring and Easter theme, decked with daffodils and tulips, Easter eggs, and balloons, it gave everyone a "spring" in their step! There were plenty of stalls to spend money, including an excellent turn out from the Cat Protection League.

To follow the theme, a Best Dressed Pen competion was held, some fabulous pens showing the hours of work that had gone into them. The eventual winner was by Margaret Hardy with her beautiful Easter pen, decked in pale green and pink silks, with rabbits, chocolates and eggs complimented the design.

The show team made everyone welcome on arrival with smiles and creme eggs, and soon judging was underway. Running a 7 ring per day show takes some organisation, the show and clerking team all worked hard all day to ensure it all ran to perfection.

Ringside viewing included cheers of delight as cats made the ultimate title of Supreme, and pole dancing performances by some of the cats!

Lots of laughter from both competitors and judges, and tears as some of the cats entered their final rings before retirement. With "last weekend" shows also being held in the US, Germany and Japan, the cats chasing Best of Breed, Regional and International awards will have to wait for all the results to come in and be verified before seeing if they have won the coveted awards.

This Tica season has now come to an end, we start a new one in May under a new Western Europe banner, with the first show on 16th/17th May at Stantonbury Leisure Centre, Milton Keynes.
