SGCA Pippastro Magik Flute International Best of Breed Oriental Long Hair Alter 2008-2009

We started showing with Tica only late last year, Mango settled straight into the format and soon began to show himself off, winning Best of the Best at his first attempt.

Knowing it was probably too late in the year to chase IW, we decided to have a crack at Best of Breed. Early this year we caught and led over the leading cat from Canada Balimoor Mendo Tate. We held that lead until last week when Mango was caught and overtaken again (by just 11 points).

It was going to the wire.

Mango had an amazing weekend at the last show, he accumulated some fantastic points with 10 finals, and last night all the US shows were updated showing that Mango has now finished on top! To say we are happy is an understatement!

Showing with Tica isn't the easy route as some people say, your cat has to be the best of it's breed and then take on some superb quality all-breed cats to gain a final placing.

It has been a hard few months, and without the help of some of my friends we couldn't have done it! So a massive thank you to; my beautiful daughter Emma for coming to the shows with me and helping to keep Mango fit and healthy, Nicky for showing me the ropes at my first Tica show, Kay for being my show buddy and keeping me sane and Anna for the most amazing photographs of my precious boy.

An even bigger THANK YOU to Pippa, for letting me have the most gorgeous love bug in the world. "This kitten has something very special" she said! And how right she was!

Thank you also to Roger Coleman from Applaws for helping get to Mango's diet right for a champion!

Finally, thank you to all the Tica judges who have LOVED Mango, including, Pascal Remy, Irene van Belzen, Jean-Marc laGarde, Vickie Fisher, Kurt Vlach and the wonderful Connie Web
