COVENTRY & LEICESTER CAT CLUB 27/2/10 JUDGE – Mrs. Barbara Prowse.

Thank you to Mark and Lesley for the invitation to judge once again. I had a very nice day in the company of Sonia Hacking, her first time stewarding and hopefully not her last. Hope we can work together soon.

RED/CREAM/TORTIE GROUP BIRMAN ADULT

1CC BOB MR W BAXTER’S ELMARLAY BABBLING BROOKE (13c10) F 3/2/09

Lilac Tortie Birman who is very pretty. Body is long and she stands on legs that are medium in length on short strong paws. Skull is broad and rounded and her ears are medium in size and spaced well apart. Eyes are almost round and medium blue in colour. Nose medium in length with slight dip in profile. Good bite. Cheeks could be a little fuller for perfection with well developed chin. Coat well prepared showing slight surface shading. Points are lilac intermingled with shades of cream. All points show lilac and cream. Pure white gloves that finish at the angle of the paw and leg. Socks cover the entire back paws. Gauntlets are medium in length. Tail bushy and medium in length.

BOB MISS E WHITBY’S GR CH FELONIE SUCETTE PLAYBOY (13c13) M 9/6/07

I have always liked this Chocolate Tabby Birman ever since he was a kitten. His body is long and he stands on medium sized legs on short strong paws. He has lovely balanced Birman type. Broad and rounded skull with medium sized ears that are spaced well apart. His eyes are almost round and are a lovely shade of blue. Nose is medium in length with the required dip in profile. Level bite. Muzzle is strong and rounded and he has a firm tapering chin. Coat well prepared, it is medium in length and a lovely texture, ivory in colour with no shading with ruff framing his face. Points are milk chocolate on a light beige agouti ground. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, thumbprints to ears and spectacles. Clean pure white feet, the gloves are full and finish across the angle of the paw. The socks are even and cover the entire back paws. The gauntlets could be a little longer but are even and tapering finishing about halfway up the back of the leg. Well ringed tail that could be a shade longer. Lovely temperament.

1CC MS J CUTT’S KHATIJEM TIFFANY (13c13) F 6/5/05

Chocolate Tabby Point Birman of good size and shape. Broad and rounded head with medium sized ears that are spaced well apart. Almost round eyes of deep blue. Nose medium in length with slight dip in profile. Level bite. Cheeks full and round. Strong chin. Coat long and silken and free from shading. Points, milk chocolate markings on a light bronze agouti background. Tabby markings well defined with clear M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to ears. Legs well barred. Pure white socks that are scalloped and finish at the angle of the paws. Medium socks. Gauntlets are a little short but taper. Tail bushy, well ringed and in proportion to her body.

2ND MRS P MORRISEY’S TIMPASMAC MINNIE (13c13) F 26/3/09

Chocolate Tabby Point Birman. Going through the teenage stage at the moment and needing to fill out. Round and broad head with good space between medium sized ears. Eyes almost round and are two tone blue in colour. Medium length to nose with a slight dip in profile. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill. Well prepared ivory white coat. Points, milk chocolate markings on a light bronze agouti background. M to forehead, spectacles, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to ears. Pure white gloves which finish at the angle of the paws. Pure white socks that are medium in length. Good length to gauntlets. Barring to legs but tail a little brindled and lacking rings. Tail good length.

3RD MR & MRS THOMPSON’S FORMONA LOOBYLOU (13c16) F 18/4/09

Seal Tortie Tabby Birman. Good size and shape for age. Body good length and she stands on medium sized legs on short strong paws. Rounded skull with medium sized ears which are set well apart. Medium length nose with slight dip in profile. Almost round eyes of blue. Good bite. Cheeks not quite full at present, firm chin. Coat needs much more preparation especially underneath. Points are seal with red intermingled in them, all points are broken with colour. Well defined Tabby markings, M to forehead, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to ears. Gloves are pure white and scalloped. Socks are medium in length. Gauntlets are long and taper to finish just below the point of the hocks. Tail bushy, medium in length, well ringed and in proportion to her body.

4TH MESDAMES BROWN & COUPLAND ATAKAD SECRET AFFAIR (13c12) F 21/5/09

Blue Tabby Birman of good shape and size. Body is a good length and she stands on legs which are medium in length on short strong paws. Head is rather triangular in shape needing much fuller cheeks. Ears are medium in sixe needing more width between them. Eyes are almost round and medium blue in colour. Nose medium in length with a gentle dip. Chin is very weak and her bite is very overshot. Scalloped gloves with a runner on her left front paw. Medium socks with good length to gauntlets. Coat well prepared and showing slight surface shading. Points are a good blue with well defined markings. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads and thumbprints to ears. Tail is bushy and medium in length, it is also well ringed.

1CC MR & MRS FISHLOCK-LOMAX’S ADATELO PENNYPARFAITDAMOUR (67 31ets) F 15/4/08

Silver Tortie Tabby and White NFC. Body is a good length and she has good boning. She stands high on her legs with her back legs longer than front on large round paws. Head is triangular and she has a long straight profile. Her head is slightly rounded and her ears are large with good width at the base and follow the line of the head down to the chin. Eyes are a good size and they are obliquely set. Good bite. Coat is semi long and she has a woolly undercoat but a rather soft topcoat. Full ruff and knickerbockers. Tail is long and bushy and reaches the shoulder blades easily. She was a little upset today.

2ND MRS L GRANT’S VANAHEIM PHAEDRA (67 22a) F 21/1/09

Blue Tortie and White NFC. Body is a good length but I feel that she has probably been calling as she needs to fill out. She stands high on her legs with her back legs longer than front on large round paws. Head is triangular and she has a long straight profile. Her head is slightly rounded and her ears are medium with good width at the base and follow the line of the head down to the chin. Eyes are rather small and deep set but they are obliquely set. Good bite. Coat is semi long and she has a woolly undercoat and a coarser topcoat. Ruff and knickerbockers are well developed. Tail is long and bushy and reaches the shoulder blades easily.

BOB MR & MRS FISHLOCK-LOMAX’S CH ADATELO REINE LACHATEAU (67 31ets) F 15/4/08

Silver Tortie Tabby and White Norwegian Forest. A lovely well grown young lady. Body big and strong, long and muscular and she stands on legs that are longer at the back than the front. Paws large and round with tufts between the toes. Head triangular with all sides equal. Long straight profile. Forehead slightly rounded with a strong chin. Ears large with good width to the base. Eyes large and oval. Good bite. Coat lacking undercoat at the moment but she has long coarser guard hairs covering the back, sides and tail. Tail long and bushy.

Blue Colourpointed Ragdoll. Good size and shape, body long and muscular standing on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Nice broad head with flat plane. Medium sized ears set nicely apart and tilted forward. Medium blue eyes which are large and well opened and set slightly oblique. Medium length to nose with dip in profile. Level bite. Full cheeks and rounded muzzle but chin a little weak. Well-prepared coat which is shady on the shoulders but is a good texture and length. Points colour is a greyish blue and all matching. Long and bushy tail.

2ND MISS H GLEDSTONE’S RAGGIPUSS DUDLEY (66a) M 21/2/07

Blue Colourpointed Ragdoll. Good size and shape, body is long and muscular and he stands on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Nice broad head with flat plane. Medium sized ears that are tilted forward and spaced nicely apart. Medium blue eyes set slightly oblique which are a good size. Medium length to nose needing a little more dip. Level bite. Full cheeks and rounded muzzle. Coat needing much more preparation but it is a good length and a nice texture. Points colour is greyish blue. Long and bushy tail.

1CC MR & MRS WILLIAMS’S CHEHAM ARDENDOLLS DEVINE (66at) F 7/2/07

Blue Tabby Colourpointed Ragdoll. Long and muscular body. Broad head with flat plane. Ears medium in size set wide apart and tilted forward. Large slightly oblique medium blue eyes. Nose of medium length with a gentle dip. Good bite. Well-developed muzzle, firm chin. Well-prepared coat showing some surface shading but clear at the roots. Points colour a medium shade of blue and they are all matching with well defined Tabby markings. M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to ears. Barring to legs and rings to tail. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders.

2ND MR P WESTWOOD’S FARISLE FANCY FAIR (66) F 2/4/09

Seal Colourpointed Ragdoll. Body is long and she stands on medium sized legs on paws that are large and tufted. She has a broad head with flat plane, ears which are medium in size and spaced well apart. Eyes are large, well opened, and slightly oblique and a medium shade of blue. Nose is medium in length needing a little more dip. Good bite. Cheeks nicely rounded. Dense matching seal points. Coat nicely prepared, it is a good length with very slight surface shading on shoulders and flanks. Full ruff and knickerbockers. Tail long, reaching the shoulders and tapering towards the tip. Very nervous today and did not show herself off at all well.

3RD MRS J FITZPATRICK’S EMERISLE SHO-SHONEA (66e) F 2/3/09

Very pretty Seal Tortie Colourpointed Ragdoll who is going through the teenage stage at the moment and needs to mature. She stands on legs that are medium in length on firm round tufted paws. Head is broad with a flat plane but a little short in length. Ears are medium in size, tilted slightly forward and set well apart. Eyes are large, set slightly oblique and deep blue in colour. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip, for perfection I would have liked a little more dip. Level bite. Cheeks well developed with firm chin. Coat well prepared, silky in texture with ruff and knickerbockers. Coat is showing some shading on the body but it is clear at the roots. Dense matching points which are seal brown intermingled with shades of red. All points show colour and she has a blaze down her nose. Tail bushy and only just reaching the shoulders.

4TH MRS R KOBYLSKA’S HAPPYTYME LUNAFAIRY (66) F 25/4/09

Seal Colourpointed Ragdoll of good size and shape. She stands on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Head is triangular in shape and has a flat plane. Ears are medium in size, slight tilt and set well apart. Eyes are large, set slightly oblique and deep blue in colour. Nose is medium in length with a gentle dip. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill out with chin a little weak. Coat well prepared, silky in texture showing some surface shading. Dense seal points with lack of pigmentation around her eyes. Tail long and bushy reaching the shoulders well.

Blue Point Male who has lovely balanced Birman type. His body is long and he has good boning. He stands on legs that are medium in length on round firm paws. Skull is broad and rounded with medium sized ears that are well spaced. Rounded muzzle with firm chin and good bite. Medium length to nose with the required dip to profile. Medium blue eyes which are round. Cheeks full and round. Blue grey point’s colour which are matching. Pure white gloves which finish just below the angle of the paws. Gauntlets are medium in length and taper. Pure white socks which are medium in length. Coat is a bluish white, very well prepared, silken in texture. Ruff well developed. Tail is bushy and medium in length. Lovely temperament.

2ND MRS E BLATHERWICK’S PR KYNOBI LUCAS (13c2) MN 8/8/08

Blue Point Birman of excellent type. Body is long and massive and he stands on medium length legs with short strong paws. Head broad and rounded with medium sized ears that are spaced well apart. Almost round deep blue eyes. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round. Chin a little weak. Level bite. Well prepared coat of bluish white, a little shady on the top but clear at the roots. Coat is long and silken in texture with a full ruff and breeches. Points are blue-grey. Front paws have pure white gloves. Back paws have medium white socks. Good length to gauntlets. Tail bushy and in proportion.

Tortie Tabby and White NFC of good shape and size for age. Her body is muscular and long and she has good boning. She stands high on her legs with back legs longer than her front ones. Head is triangular in shape and she has a long straight profile. Ears are large with good width at the base, spaced nicely apart and they are nicely furnished. Eyes are set obliquely but are a little small and deep set. Good bite. Coat well prepared with woolly undercoat and coarser top coat. Tail is long well furnished and just reaches the shoulders.

Brown Tabby and White Norwegian Forest. Large, heavy boned, yet elegant. Body is long and muscular and he stands high on the legs with the back legs being longer than the front ones. Triangular head with a straight profile. Forehead slightly rounded. Chin firm. Ears large with good width at the base. Eyes oval and set obliquely, alert and expressive but a little small in size and deep set. Good bite. Coat well prepared. He has a woolly undercoat which is covered with a coarser overcoat. Ruff and knickerbockers well developed. Tail long and bushy, easily reaching the shoulders

Seal Bi colour Ragdoll. His body is long and muscular and he stands on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Broad head with a good flat plane. Ears are medium in size, slightly tilted forward and set nicely apart. Mid blue eyes which are large and well opened. Nose is medium in length and he has a gentle dip. Level bite. Cheeks and muzzle need to develop a little bit more. Coat is well prepared and silken in texture. Dense seal points which are matching. Mask has a nicely balanced inverted ‘V’ of white. Bib, chest and underparts white although there is only a slither of white along the stomach and chest. Back and the sides of the body are beige. Front legs are white but seal extends down on to legs with it almost reaching halfway down left front leg. Back legs are white up to the level of the hocks rather than to the level of the underbody. He is just less than one third white. Tail long and bushy.

Blue Bi Colour Ragdoll of lovely balanced type. Good size and shape. He has a long and muscular body and he stands on legs which are medium in length on large round paws. Lovely broad head with flat plane. Ears are medium in size, set wide and slightly tilted forward. Large deep blue eyes which are set slightly oblique and spaced well apart. Medium length nose with a gentle dip. Level bite. Full cheeks with rounded muzzle. Points colour a bluish grey. Back a bluish grey with patches of white. Symmetrical inverted V on his face. Bib chest and underparts are white. Front legs are all white with white on back legs which reaches the level of the underbody. Well prepared coat which is silky in texture and is medium in length. Full ruff and knickerbockers. Tail long, bushy and reaching the shoulders

1ST BOB MRS C HARDY’S SKELLUM SOLOMON (16) M 22/8/09

There is always one I want to take home and this was it! British Blue kitten who is much too pretty to be a boy. He is cobby in shape, shows good depth to his body and has very good boning. He stands on short strong legs on round firm paws. Round head with good width between neat rounded ears. Large round expressive deep orange eyes which are spaced nicely apart. Nose is short broad and straight. Level bite. Nicely rounded cheeks with firm chin. Coat is a lovely pale shade of blue; it is showing silver tipping at the moment which is acceptable in a kitten. Coat is a little long and kitten soft today. Tail is medium in length and thick with a rounded tip. Lovely to handle.

1ST MISS HUTCHINSON’S ZINGFRO TIGERLILY (16) F 19/6/09

Blue kitten of very good size and shape. Cobby and compact showing good depth to her body. Round head with good width between small rounded ears. Large round orange eyes that are nicely spaced. Nose is short broad and straight. Level bite. Cheeks are full. Chin is slightly weak. Coat is a medium shade of blue; it is a little unsound near the roots today. Coat is slightly long, dense and soft in texture rather than crisp. Tail is medium in length and thick with a rounded tip.

2ND MRS C HARDY’S STONNALL CATBALLOU (16) F 29/7/09

Blue kitten well grown for her age. Body is compact and cobby in shape. She has a round head needing a little more width between ears that are a little on the tall side. Round expressive pale orange eyes. Nose is short broad and straight. Good bite with nicely rounded cheeks but is a little pinched in the muzzle area, presume she is teething. Coat is a little long and soft. It is a medium shade of blue showing silver tipping today. Tail is medium in length.

BLUE CREAM KITTEN 1ST BOB MR T SMITH’S COLINSWOOD TALLULAH (28) F 2/7/09

Blue Cream who is cobby in shape and stands on short strong legs on firm rounded paws. Round face with full cheeks. Ears are small, rounded and spaced well apart. Nose is short, broad and straight. Large round expressive copper eyes. Good bite. Coat is short, dense and crisp. The coat is a medium shade of blue and cream; she has small patches of cream on her face and body. All her extremities are broken with colour, her left back paw shows a large patch of cream but it has got blue hairs intermingled in it. Tail is thick and medium in length.

BLACK/CHOCOLATE/LILAC TORTOISESHELL & WHITE KITTEN 2ND

1ST & BOB W/H MR & MRS PARRY’S PINEMARTEN VELEVT MCMILLAN (22c) F 28/5/09

Lilac Tortoiseshell and White baby who unfortunately does not conform to the Standard of Points in that she has far too much white on her, I would assess her as having more than the permitted one-half. She is a very pretty girl and is well grown for her age. Cobby in shape standing on short legs on round firm paws. Head is round with good width between small rounded ears. Her forehead is a little flat rather than rounded. Round expressive copper eyes. Nose is quite short broad and straight. Level bite. Full cheeks with firm chin. Coat is short, dense and crisp. It is well patched with lilac, cream and white. Both colours to face with patches of colour on the body and a fully coloured tail also showing both colours. White chevron to face which extends across the left side of her cheek. Full broad white collar. White chest, underparts and legs. White encroaches up the sides of her body and into the patches of colour near the base of her spine. Tail is in proportion to her body.

1ST BOB MRS L RICHARDS’S ANGELSATMIDNIGHT BAGGINS (40 7) M 14/11/09

Cream Colourpointed who is well grown for his age. He is already compact in shape, well balanced standing on short strong legs. Round head with good width between ears that are a little large at present but are round at the tip. Large round eyes of blue. Nose is short broad and straight. Level bite. Cheeks needing to fill with firm chin. Coat short and dense a little soft in texture at present. Points colour is a pastel shade of cream with mask filling nicely. Legs and feet are slightly paler and showing ghost tabby markings. Body is creamy white. Tail is thick and medium in length. Lovely temperament.

1ST MRS S PATERSON’S ADNIOSH STARSTRUCK (40 2) F 29/8/09

Blue Colourpointed of good shape and size, she is well balanced and shows good depth to her body. She is cobby and stands on short strong legs on round firm paws. Head round with good width between small ears that are rounded at the tips. Eyes are large and round, appeared to be two tone blue but the colour was hard to assess due to the hall lighting. Nose is short, broad and straight. Cheeks needing to fill. Firm chin with level bite. Coat is short but rather harsh to the touch and it is showing quite a lot of surface shading at present. Points a medium shade of blue. Tail is thick, medium in length and in proportion to her body.

SELKIRK REX KITTEN

1ST BOB MISS C HAZEL’S WYREWOOD CHARLIES ANGEL (79S 15) F 16/7/09

Short Haired Black Selkirk Rex who is well grown for her age. She is solid and muscular has a good shape but at the moment her head is a little small to her body as she is going through the adolescent stage. Head is rounded with good width between ears that are medium in size. Rounded forehead with nose which is straight, short and broad with a downward slant in profile. Eyes are round, expressive and set nicely apart. Well padded whisker pads and full cheeks. Good bite. Coat is thick and dense and fairly uniform in length. It is very well rexed around the head, neck, shoulders, underparts and tail. The rest of the body shows less curliness. Tail a little on the short side and rounded at the tip. Pretty young lady.

Red Persian of lovely balanced Persian type. He is cobby in shape and a good weight with good boning. Large round head with good width between neat well furnished ears. Short snub nose with good break and full pink leather. Good bite. Lovely expressive copper eyes. Full cheeks firm chin. Rich red coat which was well prepared. Dinky tail.

2ND MRS B GRAY’S CH AMZENI EYESTOTHELEFT (70 15) M 16/2/07

Black Exotic of good shape and size. Lovely balanced Persian type. He stands on short stocky legs and is cobby in shape. Head is round with excellent width between neat well furnished ears. Round expressive copper eyes. Short snub nose with good break and full leather. Bite is undershot. Full cheeks firm chin. Coat is almost sound black and is dense and plush standing well away from the body. Tail in proportion to his body.

2ND MRS S JONES’S UK & IMP GR CH SILKIESTAR RAPHAEL (66 31) M 3/4/04

Seal Bi colour Ragdoll. Body long and muscular standing on legs that are medium in length on large round paws. Head broad with a flat plane. Ears medium in size, set wide apart and tilted slightly forward. Large eyes of blue set slightly oblique. Nose of medium length with a gentle dip. Level bite. Cheeks well developed. Coat well prepared and silken in texture. Well developed ruff and knickerbockers. Dense seal points which are matching. Mask has a balanced inverted ‘V’ of white. Bib, chest and underparts white. Back and sides of the body are beige with evenly distributed patches of white. Front legs are white and the back legs are white up to the level of the hocks. Tail long and bushy.

Almost round medium blue eyes. Nose medium in length with a slight dip in profile. Cheeks full and round with firm chin. Points are blue grey and she has a bluish white coat which is well prepared. Nice ruff framing her face. Pure white scalloped gloves. Pure white socks which are medium in length. Gauntlets are medium in length and taper. Tail bushy and in proportion to body. Lovely temperament.

2ND MRS H HORTON’S RUTTERKIN FANNY BYGASLIGHT (64 41ew) F 29/3/09

Tortie Tabby and White. Nicely balanced and very pretty. Solid and muscular with good breadth to chest standing on substantial legs with large round well tufted paws. Head medium in length, nose of uniform width with shallow concave curve. Cheeks fairly full with high cheek bones. Level bite. Square muzzle. Eyes full and round, spaced well apart and set slightly oblique. Well presented coat with full ruff and breeches. Brilliant copper brown ground overlaid with red and black tabby markings which are well defined. White chest, feet and underparts. Tail well ringed and at least the length of the back.

3RD MR & MRS WILLIAMS’S CHEHAM ARDENDOLLS DEVINE (66at) F 7/2/07

AV BRITISH SENIOR

1ST MRS T KINGWELL’S CH LORASTON GRETA-GARBO (17) F 17/4/07

Cream. Very pretty young lady. Body is compact, well balanced with good depth and she stands on short strong legs on paws that are round and firm. Head is round with good width between small rounded ears. Large round orange eyes. Nose is short, straight and broad with full pink leather. Level bite. Cheeks full with firm chin. Coat is a pale toned cream; it is a little paler near the roots. Coat is dense, short and crisp. She has faint tabby markings at present. Tail is medium in length, thick with a rounded tip.

2ND MISS J MARTIN’S CH WELLMAR JOSIAH (18b) M 25/7/05

Chocolate Silver Tabby of good size and shape. He is cobby in shape, has good depth to his body and stands low on the legs. Head is round with good width between small rounded ears. Large round orange eyes which are set wide apart and well opened. Short broad and straight nose. Round cheeks. Level bite with firm chin. Coat is dense short and crisp. Ground colour is a pale silvery chocolate with chocolate classic Tabby markings. He has a well defined M to his forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to his ears. There is a well defined butterfly across his shoulders and his oysters are almost symmetrical. On his back he has an unbroken line running down the spine from the butterfly to the tail, there is an unbroken stripe on either side of this. Tail is thick, medium in length and well ringed.

3RD LADY B WILLIAMS’S CH PURRAVIDA SILVER BUTTONS (30s) M 18/9/04

Black Silver Spotted whose body is cobby, standing on short strong legs on round firm paws. Head is round with rounded cheeks but chin is a little weak. Good width between ears that are rounded at the tips and are a little on the large side. Large round green eyes which need slightly more space between them. Short broad and straight nose. Level bite. Coat is short dense and crisp. Ground colour is silver with black Tabby markings; he is slightly tarnished on his face. The head markings show an M to forehead, spotted whisker pads, spectacles and thumbprints to his ears. Body and legs show numerous oval shaped spots, around the shoulder areas and flanks the spots are elongated and linked. Tail has numerous narrow rings with the tip of the tail being the same colour as the markings.
