Many thanks to Mark and Lesley for the invitation to judge and to the Coventry and Leicester Cat Club for their hospitality. A big thank you to Sean Farrell for driving down especially to steward for me, I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did.

AV FOREIGN GRAND PREMIER MALE

1 IGR CC KEMP’S GR PR NATZKATZ IRISH-CREAM 72 43nsq MN 16.5.07

Very good size and weight to this nearly three year old boy with good muscle tone. Good length body with a well rounded chest and straight back. Shapely, proportionate legs and neat oval paws. Fair length and shape to slightly tapering tail. Coat is fairly short and close lying and of excellent texture. Caramel Silver Shaded Asian with burmese colour restriction. Paleish fawn surface colour shading to silvery-honey toned ground colour and around lower sides and tummy. Slightly deeper tone to colour down spine and tail. Clear facial markings, broken necklaces and faint marks at top of limbs. Fairly short wedge, wide at cheek bones and with a nice blunt muzzle. Very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped, generous sized ears. In profile slight rounding to brow, good nose break and fairly short, straight nose. Level bite and fair depth, level chin. Large and lustrous pale green eyes set well apart and with a nice expression. Nice natured.

R IGR CC CROUCH’S GR PR CWMDARRAN AZRAFF 78 36 MN 29.6.08

Lovely ‘worried’ expression to this one and half year old boy who really sells himself. Slightly rounded wedge of medium length. Slightly angular nose line which I would prefer to see with a shallow contour but slight rise from bridge to forehead and gentle rounding over top of head and down neck. Uniform width down nose to good, gently rounded muzzle. Level bite and medium depth, rounded chin. Good ears medium in size, broad at base, slightly pointed, set well back and cupped forward to follow the line of the head. Large, full almond shaped eyes, set straight under a level brow, pale gooseberry green in colour at centre put paling to yellowy tone at outer edge. Excellent size and weight to long body, strong and muscular and well balanced. Well boned, proportionate, slender legs and good rounded paws. Good length tail, thicker at base and tapering slightly towards rounded tip. Slightly long length to close lying coat of superb texture and with a good sheen to it. Smoke Egyptian Mau of bright silvery ground colour tipped with black, just breaking through with movement. Good facial markings with ‘M’ on forehead with nice frown marks, good pencil lines on cheeks, complex scarab over top of head breaking into spots along spine. Randomly spotted in black which I would prefer with stronger definition for perfection, clearer on left than right hand side, broken necklaces and bars on legs. Ringed tail with a dark tip. Super relaxed temperament.

Eight plus year old Devon Rex lady with a ‘cheeky’ face. Head has fairly short, broad wedge with broad, high cheek bones, strong muzzle, level bite but slightly shallow chin. Nice in profile with brow curving back to flat skull, fairly good stop, nose just a trifle long but straight, well defined whisker break. Ears are set low and wide apart, well covered in fur, large and wide at base, tapering to rounded tips with tufts, short ear muffs around the bases. Large oval shaped, pale blue eyes, set wide apart and sloping towards outer edges of ears. Excellent size and weight with good muscle tone to hard body medium in length and with a nice broad chest. Slender neck, elegant legs and neat oval paws. Tapering tail which I would prefer longer for perfection. Soft texture to excellent short coat, even in length over body and with a good strong curl over body, slight curl down tail and down her legs. Crinkled eyebrows and whiskers. Sweet natured with a lovely purr.

R IGR CC MARSHALL’S GR PR BANEAURENO DEMELZA 33/30d FN 8.9.04

Red Spotted Cornish Rex five year old lady with a lovely temperament. High cheekbones to medium wedge with head length about one third greater than the width, narrowing to a good rounded muzzle, level bite but slightly shallow chin. Nice in profile with flat skull curving gently at brow and continuing straight to tip. Large ears set high on head, wide at base and tapering to rounded tips. Medium size to pale yellow, oval shaped eyes with top line set almost straight and with slight slant to the outer edge of ears. Hard and muscular, medium length, weighty body with an elegant neck. Just lost out on her waistline which just slightly spoiled her balance. Long slender legs and small oval paws. Fine, tapering, long tail well covered in wavy fur. Coat is fairly short and dense and silky in texture. Slight loss of coat behind the ears. Excellent rippling to fur down back, sides and top of legs. Slight curl to fur down tail finishing with a curl to the fur at tip.

KORAT ADULT

BOB LACEY’S GR CH JENANCA ANJALI 34 F 25.9.06

Elegant three and a half year old Korat lady. Lovely heart shaped head when viewed from the front with good breadth between and across the eyes and gently curving to a well developed muzzle. Large and flat forehead. Slight downward curve to short nose. Pleasing profile line shows slight stop between nose and forehead. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Large ears, flared at base, set high on head and giving an alert expression. Large, green, luminous, prominent eyes well set. Good muscle tone and weight to medium sized and boned body with a semi cobby appearance. Good legs to balance body and oval paws. Tail is heavier at base and tapers to a rounded tip, i would prefer a fraction more length for perfection. Fairly short coat, fine, close lying and with good glossy appearance. Good silver tipping to medium to deeper blue coat with sound colour. Nice natured.

1 CC EDWARDS’S GR CH KOORAHK PEE SAKORN 34 M 10.1.07

Excellent size and weight with good muscle tone to this three plus year old boy. Heart shaped head when viewed from the front, broad between and across the eyes and gentle curved outline around sides of face to muzzle. In profile flat forehead, slight stop then nose is a trifle long and slopes slightly to tip with a minimal bump so not quite perfect. Level bite and fair depth chin. Medium to large sized ears flared at base and set high on head. Good size and oval shape to green eyes. Good semi-cobby appearance to medium length, strong body with proportionate legs and oval paws. Tail is thicker at base and tapers to a rounded tip and is of fair length. Coat is a trifle long but close lying, sleek and of good texture. Even medium blue in colour which pales minimally to roots but has very slight silver tipping. Faint rings on tail. Nice natured.

THAI ADULT

1 IC & BOB LACEY’S JUSARKA POINT-TO-POINT 34/40/2 M 28.8.06

Three and a half year old boy of very good size and weight. Heart shape to head when viewed from the front with good breadth across the top of head. Good breadth between and across the eyes and gently curving to a good muzzle. Large and flat forehead. Slight downward curve to slightly long nose in profile with slight stop between nose and forehead. Level bite but slightly shallow chin. Medium sized ears, flared at base and set high on head. Large, prominent eyes, clear blue in colour. Good muscle tone to medium sized and boned body with semi cobby appearance. Elegant legs which balance body and oval paws. Good medium length tail, heavier at base and tapering to rounded tip. Coat a bit long but fine, fairly close lying and glossy in appearance just spoilt by some evidence of stud tail. Thai Blue Point of off-white but showing quite a lot of shading which does tone with the points. Blue to points of mask, ears and tail showing slight silver tipping.

ASIAN TABBY ADULT

BOB CROW & GOSS’S CH KAGURA KATISHA 72/45q F 23.11.05

Attractive four plus year old lady. Very good size and weight with a good firm feel to her. Proportionate shapely legs and neat oval paws. Coat a trifle long, slightly dense but close lying and of very good texture. Brown Ticked Tabby Asian with burmese colour restriction showing deep seal brown ticking with good bands of colour against a creamy beige ground colour. Ticking colour slightly more intense down spine and tail. Strong facial markings, broken necklace and half bars on inner limbs. Fairly short, blunt wedge. Very good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped ears of medium size. In profile, slight rounding to brow, good nose break and short, straight nose. Level bite and fair depth chin. Large, lustrous, pale green eyes well set. Lovely temperament.

ASIAN TIFFANIE ADULT FEMALE

1 CC & BOB McRAE & GABB’S DAYJOY ORLA 68 43hsq F 26.2.09

Very good size and weight to this one year old girl. Good length body with a good firm feel, proportionate, shapely legs and oval paws. Good length tail to balance body with plume like effect to fur. Coat length is still developing over body but some petticoat frill is starting to show. Chocolate Tortie Silver Shaded Tiffanie with burmese colour restriction of pale, warm toned chocolate surface colour with minimal shades of red on face all shading to a silvery ground colour. Good width to gently rounded top of head when viewed from the front between well set and shaped medium sized ears. In profile I would prefer a little more skull depth but slight rounding to brow, fair nose break, nose a trifle long but straight. Level bite and fair depth chin. Good size and shape to pale green eyes set well apart. Nice natured.

2 WARD’S CH HUGGIBEAR AUTUMN PROMISE 68 45 F 19.9.08

Petite seventeen month old lady. Good weight for size to medium length body but I would prefer her to develop in stature. Proportionate, slender legs and dainty oval paws. Good tail for length and shape to balance body with plume like effect to the fur. Black Ticked Tiffanie with slightly dense, full coat of good length with a full ruff. Warm toned coppery brown base colour but I would prefer more definition to the black ticking. Good facial markings, necklace and broken lines on legs. Good width to gently rounded top of head between well set and shaped neat ears. Slight rounding to brow, good nose break, nose a trifle long and rounds slightly. Level bite but very shallow chin. Good size to green eyes set well apart but of rather almond shape for my liking. Lovely temperament.

BLUE ABYSSINIAN KITTEN

1 & BOB WHITWORTH’S SILVERSMOKE CORNFLOWER 23c F 8.7.09

Very good size and weight to this seven month old well balanced girl. Gently rounded contours to head and gently rounded from top of head to brow. Good, gently rounded width developing between the ears forming a moderate wedge which tapers to a slightly rounded muzzle, formed by a slight indentation but I would prefer the muzzle just slightly fuller. In profile slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Level bite and fair depth chin. Good sized, well cupped ears, pricked and with furry inner edges, tufts at tips and set wide apart. Outer line of the ear follows the outer contours of the face. Large, expressive eyes set well apart, full almond shape and oriental in set, yellowy-green in colour. Medium build and size to body, straight back and rounded rib cage with slender legs to balance body and small oval feet. Long tail, thick at base and tapering gently to tip. Coat is fairly short, fine, dense in texture and close lying. Blue Abyssinian of warm toned mushroom base colour with blue ticking, showing good bands of colour. Blue pigmentation lines from eye to top of head, pencil lines on cheeks, pale hair around eyes and dark edge to eyelids. Creamy chin and lips. Blue ticking colour extending down spine and tail to a blue tip and blue partly up the hocks. Faint broken necklace. Sweet natured.

BROWN SPOTTED BENGAL KITTEN

1 & BOB MORELAND’S TOBYSDEN PANDORA 76 30 F 1.8.09

A promising six month old kitten. Good size and weight to long body sleek and muscular with medium length and boned legs and large rounded paws. Long, thick tail carried low and with a rounded, dark tip. Short to medium length coat, fairly dense, soft and luxurious in texture. Brown Spotted Bengal of golden-rufus ground colour with black and brown markings with well defined rosettes and no linkage. Clear ‘M’ on face, pencil lines on cheeks, chin straps and vertical streaks over head. Broken lines and spots on legs, rings on tail and spots on tummy. Head breadth developing for a medium wedge with rounded contours, high cheek bones and head is correctly small in proportion to body. In profile gentle curve from forehead to bridge of nose, slight concave curve to nose then straight to tip. Good broad muzzle, level bite but shallow, rounded chin. Pronounced whisker pads. Largish sized ears but following the outer contours of the head, wide at base and rounded at tips. Full, almond shaped green eyes, large and correctly slanted towards the base of the ear. Noisy but friendly girl.

SNOWSHOE KITTEN ASSESSMENT

Merit to SOUTHALL’S COLDENUFFORSNOW CABAZUN 83w M 23.9.09

Well grown five month old kitten with good muscle tone. Fairly broad wedge slightly rounded. In profile slightly flat forehead, slight nose break then nose straight to tip. Well rounded muzzle, level bite and fair depth chin. Good shape to blue eyes of medium size. Good length body, proportionate length, medium boned legs and oval paws. Medium length tapering tail. Coat is a trifle long but close lying and of good texture. Seal Point Snowshoe with deep brown tail, mask, ears and upper legs. White to front paws, full back boots, inverted “V” on face and chin. Good pattern looking nicely balanced. Lovely temperament with a super motor and enjoying his day.
