THE CROYDON CAT CLUB, 13TH FEBRUARY, 2010

My thanks go to Pat Norman and the committee of the Croydon for their kind invitation to judge. Thanks also to John Blore for his expert care and attention both to the exhibits and me. Here’s to the next time.

A.C. PERSIAN GRAND CHAMPION.

IMP GR CH. MALE. IMP GR. OWENS GR CH BESSJET ROCAWENPRIVATE JET.

Stunning black. Grand Persian type with neat ears on a bonnet top. Eyes correct for shape, size. Colour superb. Snub nose. Huge, fat cheeks full muzzle and strong chin. Level bite. Lovely cobby shape supported by short thick legs. Dripping in “sound to the roots” coat, beautifully presented. Texture great and the shine wonderful. A really worthy winner and a credit to his owner.

RES IMP. SOAVES GR GH LADYGEM CLAUDE MONET

Ran winner very close indeed. Blue and white bi-colour. Absolutely stunning with owl-like eyes, large, bold and round and of good colour. Bonnet top to head, ideal setting for the wee ears. Really round head. Lovely open face, full cheeks, strong muzzle and firm chin. Short broad nose, scissor bite. Pristine maximum expression of white coat. Blue areas, pleasing shade. Short tail and cobby body.

AC PERSIAN GRAND CHAMPION. IMP GR CH. FEMALE.

IMP GR. FISHERS GR. GH.SHEERBLISS ENCHANTED LAYDEE.

Tortie smoke exotic. Lovely head, really round. Small round tipped ears, set wide apart fitting into the rounded contour of the head. Bold round eyes of excellent copper colour. Short broad nose, strong chin full muzzle. Medium size body, cobby type, low on legs. Tail short but in proportion to body. Coat dense, plush, soft in texture, standing away from body due to density. Displaying shades of red with black. Lovely silver undercoat.

R IMP. HOWES GR CH HONEYMIST EDANA.

Tortie tabby lacking the general markings expected of a tabby. Dense black markings on a brilliant coppery brown agouti ground overlaid with shades of red are required, unfortunately this was not the case today. Very good type. Eyes excellent for size shape and colour. Short broad nose full cheeks, firm muzzle and chin. Scissor bite. Full well prepared coat. Nice body shape on short legs.

RED SELF ADULT FEMALE.

1CC BOB HAYNES ANSTEYN IAMRUBY LOOKATME.

Lovely girl with good type. Ears neat and well set low on head. Short broad nose, apple cheeks, full muzzle and strong chin. Scissor bite. Lovely tufted ears. Full coat, beautifully prepared, pleasing colour. Cobby body, supported by fat chunky legs.

1CC BOB D’ABATE JOHNNYCAKE DANTONA BEACH.

Outstanding red colourpoint. Really stunning. Coat pristine, groomed to the last hair. Points excellent. Wonderful facial balance and expression. Level bite. Grand cobby body supported by thick chunky legs. Tail nicely pointed.

1CC & BOB Messrs Brown and Motti BRONTE HOLLY RUNWAY HILL.

Chocolate colourpoint of good type. Ear points good. Full mask. Depth of colour good. Eye shape, size and colour correct. Short broad nose with stop. Strong muzzle and full cheeks, chin needing to fill out for balance. Scissor bite. Paws nicely pointed as is the tail. Old coat present in body coat but still a nice ivory white colour

TABBY COLOURPOINT ADULT.

Blue tabby point of great type/ Lovely eyes for size shape and colour, full of expression. Snub nose. Apple cheeks, full muzzle and strong chin. Scissor bite. Lovely body shape supported by fat chunky legs/ Coat at the present time is incorrect to the standard, my reason for withholding the certificate. I should like to see this exhibit again when coat is in full fettle.

BLUE KITTEN.

1 BOB. Angus PALCHINNO CELESTRAL SKY

Lovely typed kitten with profusion of pastel coat, needing to clear, beautifully presented. Head well balanced. Eyes good for size shape and colour. Scissor bite. Cobby body on short fat legs. Well furnished tail.

TORTIE OR CHOCOLATE TORTIE AND WHITE KITTEN.

1 BOB Fairbanks SHERRIAMOR BECHABYGOLLYWOW.

Dominant Tortie and white with lovely type. Bold round eyes of excellent colour. Short broad nose with stop. Full cheeks, firm muzzle and strong chin. Scissor bite. All three colours evident on face. .White paws, chest and tummy. Coat well patched with brilliant colours. Cobby body supported by chunky legs.

Lovely boy of excellent type with a scissor bite. Great facial balance and expression. Full coat, well presented and rich in colour, some seasonal shading evident. Grand body type on short fat legs.

CREAM NEUTER MALE.

1BOB Paynes Ch. Pempakat Andante.

Nice type. Staining on face and bib. Ear set good. Eyes correct for size shape and colour. Full cheeks, firm muzzle and strong chin. Scissor bite. Full coat needing more TLC. Cobby body on short fat legs..

TORTIE OR CHOCOLATE TORTIE AND WHITE NEUTER.

Stunning black tortie and white. Lovely well balanced head with tiny ears on a bonnet top. Bold round eyes of excellent colour. Short broad nose with stop. Full cheeks, firm muzzle and strong chin. Scissor bite. Full coat groomed to the last hair, maximum expression of white. Coloured areas really bright. Bodyweight and conformation very good.

A.C. PERSIAN NON-SELF BREEDERS ADULT

1. Howards FALABELLA MERCIE.

Tortie of excellent type. Huge, bold, round eyes of superb colour. Lovely balance to head. Short broad nose with stop. Full cheeks, firm muzzle and strong chin. Good bite. Coat beautifully prepared, soft to touch. Grand shine all over, mainly black with shades of red. Good bodyweight and conformation.

2. Hendersons MAVOURNEEN HOKUS POKUS

Black and white Bi-colour of excellent type. Bold round eyes of good colour. Snub nose. Full cheeks, firm muzzle and chin. Level bite. Appealing black smudge on nose. Full coat which is a maximum expression of white. Black areas sound and free from white hairs. Well presented. Good bodyweight and conformation.

3. Neale CUSHKA JUSTAN ILLUSION.

Very pretty chinchilla.

1 Howards LADYGEM BROWN SUGAR.

Brown Tabby and White with the lot. Wonderful facial expression coupled with perfect type. Huge, bold, round eyes of excellent colour. Snub nose with good nostrils. Fat cheeks, firm muzzle and chin. Level bite. Full, beautifully presented coat, white pristine, brown areas bright and showing clearly defined tabby markings with the agouti ground. Lovely Lady whom I fell in love with and is welcome at my fireside at any time. Good condition and bodyweight.

2 Clarkes SHEERBLISS DAKOTA. 70 12a6t. F. 21.2.09.

Very pretty tortie tabby and white exotic who has yet to decide what she is. She appears not to favour either Classic, Mackerel or spotted as on one side of her body she is spotted and the other mackerel. She does however have very good type. Lovely round head, with nicely rounded tips to ears, fitting into the rounded contour of the head, full cheeks, round forehead. Short broad nose with stop. Full cheeks and muzzle. Strong chin. Eyes full and round. Deep orange in colour. Level bite. Medium size body, cobby type. Short thick strong legs. Coat colours good, white pristine.

1. Davis NABOO PHOENIX RISING. 70 12ats M 17.2.09.

Mature exhibit. Very good top of head with neat well placed ears. Large round copper eyes. Short broad nose with stop. Level bite. Strong muzzle, firm chin, needing chin to strengthen for balance.o Strong neck and shoulders. Excellent cobby body set low on thick strong legs. Nicely rounded paws. Super rich red markings on Silvery red ground. Classic tabby. Lines from eyes and over back of head. Part butterfly. Oysters. Tail rings. Coat dense, plush, nice texture, standing away from body.

2 Weatherall-King ASHANEEKA TIAMOUR.

Lovely tortie with outstanding eyes for shape size and colour. Good type nicely balanced. Short broad nose with stop. Ample cheeks, full muzzle and firm chin. Scissor bite. Good coat, predominately black with shades of red in evidence. Grand bodyweight and conformation.

Certainly the main man for me. What a treasure. As soon as my steward opened the pen door and right on cue, he rolled over for his tummy to be rubbed. Cant beat that in a busy show hall.
