WYVERN CC SHOW12 Sep 09.Report by Mrs Dorothy A Stone. How nice it was not to have to get up at the crack of sparrows to get to this super show now back at its original home in Worcester & what a treat it was to have some decent lighting in which to judge! Heartfelt thanks to EILEEN, MARGARET & SUE for so kindly inviting me once again & for the beautiful Royal Worcester mug which I shall treasure. My gorgeous husband COLIN not only chauffeured & stewarded for me but also helped me to show trainee Vet Nurse HANNAH SHELDON the ropes & excelled at all tasks, so many thanks, darling. Hope you enjoyed your first cat show & handling some of the exhibits, Hannah. Thanks also for the honour of being asked to choose the Best Burmese Adult which was a toss-up between a gorgeous Brown Tortie & the very beautiful Chocolate lady to whom I had previously given BoB & who I felt just had the edge, Anna Virtue’s Ch Hobberdy Hocus Pocus who has a really smouldering expression as well excellent type (reminiscent of the lovely Hanky Panky of fond memory). AC BURMESE PREMIER (Gd Pr) MALE NEUTER. 5 present. What a collection of crackers! I also liked IGP RAINSONG XABI ALONSO who was most unlucky to meet the under mentioned contenders.Grand PC ROBINSON’s Pr ROSSIKHAN STATUS SYMBOL. Lilac. 22 mths.Super wedge & dome, well set & shaped ears could be a tad smaller for perfection. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, distinct break to aquiline nose that has a small bump, good depth to level chin, level bite. Large lustrous buttercup yellow eyes enhanced with mascara are well set, shaped & have an emphatic “F-off or die” expression! Well balanced chap of medium size looking quite mature now has well shaped body of very good weight with super muscular athletic feel, shapely limbs & tail balances. Fabulous sprayed-on style coat of lovely pink-hued faded dove grey has satin texture & highly polished finish. An angry young man of very good type shown in splendid condiditon – my compliments to his doting owner for presenting him so well. Res STEPHENS’s Gd Pr MILLGILL PANDEMONIUM. Brown. 5 yrs, 2 mths.Lovely short blunt wedge of very good width, wide slightly flat top of head, ears are well sized, shaped & set thus continue the shape of the upper part of the face. Profile shows rounding to brow, slightly flat forehead, distinct break & deep level chin. Gorgeous primrose yellow eyes have typical expression. Stylish chap of very good size, weight & conformation has required hard muscular feel, well shaped legs, neat oval paws, and tail with lovely “paintbrush tip” is a fraction short. Quality coat of rather dark seal brown has a lovely healthy shine. A fabulous chap shown in splendid condition with whom I usually have a lovely cuddle but sadly he was extremely upset so that was the last thing on his mind today thus he failed to show to his best advantage. AC BURMESE PREMIER (Gd Pr) FEMALE NEUTER. 4 present. A line-up of lovely ladies.Gd PC WRIGGLESWORTH’s Ch & Pr ROSSIKHAN OBSESSION. Chocolate. 6 ½ yrs.Good width to lovely short blunt wedge, wide but slightly flat top of head, well shaped ears that could be a tad smaller for perfection are perfectly set to continue the line of the wedge. Profile shows rounding to brow, slightly flat forehead, well defined break to slightly long nose, firm level chin, level bite. Gorgeous primrose yellow eyes have that unique scowl! Mature lady of good size has well muscled body but currently carries a trifle too many pounds consequently lacks the required elegance; slim muscular legs, neat oval paws, well shaped tail balances. Fabulous coat like moleskin is of the most beautifully even gold-toned warm milk chocolate with no noticeable contrast. Beautifully prepared, this gorgeous girl who I’m delighted to see went on to become overall Best Burmese Exhibit, was not in the happiest frame of mind today. I still covet her furiously!! Res TEGG’s Gd Ch & Gd Pr MINOTOSA PANDORA. Brown Tortie. 6 yrs, 1 mth.Lovely wedge & dome, ears are well sized, shaped & set. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, definite break to aquiline nose that has a small bump, deep level chin, and level bite. Gorgeous primrose yellow eyes have a wonderfully smouldering expression! Medium sized matron has weighty but muscular body that still retains its elegance; well shaped legs, neat oval paws, and well shaped tail prefer longer to balance. Quality glossy coat is of most attractively combined chocolate & shades of red. Shown in super condition, she was happier in her pen. ASIAN TIFFANIE MALE KITTEN. 1 present.Wrong Colour HARRISON’s TAHIRAH STORMCHASER. 5 ½ mths.Fairly short wedge of good width showing a slight teething pinch at present, gently rounded top of head is of good width, large broad based ears with tufts & fringes on inside edges of ears have rounded tips & forward tilt, are well set when relaxed thus continue the line of the upper part of the face. Profile shows good depth from brow to lower jaw, rounding to brow & forehead, well defined break to slightly long nose that has pink leather with a milk chocolate outline, firm level chin, level bite. Expressive gold eyes that are rimmed with milk chocolate have paler spectacle-like surrounds, are large, lustrous, well shaped in that the upper lids have the required slight slant towards the nose whilst the lower lids have a fuller curve & are spaced well apart. Well grown chap has a muscular body of good shape & weight for size, slightly heavy boned legs are of adequate length, large paws with pink pads & tufts developing between the toes are of incorrect round shape, tapering tail could be slightly longer but is covered in lovely fine silky glossy hair that is quite plume-like already. Lovely fine, silky but dense & glossy coat developing, has the beginnings of a ruff at the nape of his neck, the colour however, in the good venue lighting, whilst definitely Shaded (43) with a silver undercoat , fails to comply with the description given for that in which he is currently registered (Caramel) vis he has a milk chocolate tail tip, pink paw pads & nose leather (rimmed with milk chocolate), milk chocolate colour up his heels towards his hocks, milk chocolate ‘M’ on his forehead, smudges in the inner corners of his eyes & ribbons from the outer corners & milk chocolate leg bars. Consequently I concluded that the colouration & pattern conformed more closely to the description given for a Chocolate Silver (BCR). This was then verified by 3 full Asian Judges who advised me that I should “wrong colour” him & recommend that he be re-registered as 68 43 bsq. I am sorry that I was unable to award him the 1st Open class placing that he otherwise fully deserved & would have qualified him for the Supreme. I would love to see him again after he has been re-registered, please, as he is a lovely playful chap with the sweetest nature imaginable, was shown in top condition & very well prepared. I could have taken him home. ASIAN TIFFANIE FEMALE KITTEN. 1 present.1st & BoB GABB & McRAE’s DAYJOY ORLA. 68 43hsq. 6 ½ mths.Short, wide, blunt wedge, wide top of head is gently rounded. Large broad based ears with rounded tips & forward tilt set well apart have tufts at the tips & streamers developing. Profile shows a good depth of skull from brow to lower jaw, rounding to brow & forehead, well defined break to slightly long nose that has pale pink coloured leather rimmed with milk chocolate, firm level chin & level bite. Large lustrous pale yellow eyes that have a green pupil ring at present are rimmed with milk chocolate, have paler spectacle-like surrounds, a smudge of milk chocolate in the inner corners are spaced well apart but are obliquely set & the upper lids slant too acutely towards the nose, the curve to the lower lids however is more rounded. Well grown lass has muscular body of good weight, straight back, rounded chest, boning to well muscled legs is a tad on the heavy side but they are of good length, large oval paws the pads all of which bar one are pinkish milk chocolate, the one exception being pink & have lovely tufts between the toes; gorgeous plume of a tail is of very good length & shape. Lovely long, quite dense but flowing silky feeling coat with ruff & breeches developing lies flat along the spine & has a lovely healthy shine; has milk chocolate leg barring, tail tip, ‘M’ & lines (a couple of which are red) on forehead on paler chocolate silver, the ground colour of pale red-silver shades gradually down the shaft to the silver undercoat. A sweet, serene girl shown in top condition & beautifully prepared whom I loved. BLUE BURMESE ADULT FEMALE. 1 present (+ 2 for BoB only).BoB to Sandra BRIDGES’s gorgeous golden-eyed girl Gd Ch ARTRO BLUE DIAMOND looking wonderful as ever.1st & CC ROBINSON’s Ch ROSSIKHAN VELVETMISS. 2 yrs, 5 mths.Super wedge & dome, well set & shaped ears could be a tad smaller for perfection, profile shows rounded brow & forehead, distinct break, and chin is level but could be deeper. Gorgeous yellow-chartreuse eyes enhanced by liner have that typically intense frown! Mature, well balanced queen of very good size, weight & conformation has required muscular athletic feel, lissom limbs, tapering tail prefer longer to balance. Fabulous sprayed-on coat with healthy shine & satin texture is of well silvered pewter blue marred by a slightly fawn tinge today. A lovely lady shown in splendid condition & of the sweetest disposition. CHOCOLATE BURMESE ADULT FEMALE. 2 present (+1 for BoB only).BoB to Anna VIRTUE’s splendid girl Ch HOBBERDY HOCUS POCUS - she has the most wonderful expression & type & was later my BoV adult.1st Sorry, CC N/A KASAMUN’s Ch BIENZOLI SUGAR PLUM. 3 yrs, 5 mths.Fairly short blunt wedge of good width, wide dome, large well shaped ears are well set when relaxed. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, distinct break, lovely deep level chin but sadly bite is noticeably undershot (verified by Duty Vet). Expressive pale yellow eyes are well sized, shaped & set. Well balanced mature queen of very good size, weight & conformation, well shaped legs, neat oval paws, well shaped tail balances. Short, sleek, shining coat with satin texture is of a rather harsh shade of gold-toned milk chocolate & has incorrect heavy contrast on mask, ears & tail. Shown in top condition she was happier in her pen today. Sorry to disappoint but the CC was withheld in accordance with the GCCF Standard List of Withholding Faults applicable to all breeds (which appears in the Preface to the Standards of Points) owing to the presence of her noticeably undershot bite. 2nd BEALE’s ADNIOBU GUCCI GIRL. 10 months.Immature head type at present – short blunt wedge needs more width across cheek bones, gently rounded top of head is of adequate width but well shaped & sized ears are set far too high thus fail to continue the line of the wedge. Profile shows well defined break, firm level chin & level bite. Well set yellow chartreuse eyes fail in that they are far too small, of incorrect round shape & lack the required expression. Unbalanced adolescent lass looking more like an overgrown kitten today is of acceptable size, muscular body is of good weight, well shaped legs, neat oval paws, but tail that has a rounded tip is too thick & needs an inch or so in length thus fails to balance body. Medium length woolly textured & harsh feeling coat is of a brassy gold-toned chocolate & has incorrect sharply defined dark brown contrast on her mask, ears & tail making her seem more like an old fashioned Siamese than a Burmese, I’m sorry to say. Shown in good physical condition but not in the happiest frame of mind today. LILAC BURMESE FEMALE ADULT. 1 PRESENT.1st CC & BoB TARBUCK’s Ch MOLYROSSI STARBUCK. 2 yrs all but.Lovely wedge, top of head & ears. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, distinct break, a deep level chin & level bite. Gorgeous buttercup yellow eyes enhanced with mascara have that unique scowl which is the essence of this breed. Medium sized mature queen carrying a trifle too many pounds thus lacks the required elegance today however body is well muscled, shapely limbs, tail of good shape is too short thus fails to balance body. Quality glossy coat with satin texture & sheen is of a lovely pink-hued faded dove grey. Shown in very good physical condition, she needs fining down in order to have a real chance at top honours. CREAM BURMESE MALE KITTEN. 1 present.1st & BoB ROBINSON’s MOLYNMEUX GOLD DUST. 8 ½ months.Super wedge & top of head, well shaped & set ears could be a tad smaller for perfection. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, distinct break, deep level chin & level bite. Elegant adolescent lad of very good size & weight looking rather long backed & slightly unbalanced at present having reached the rapid growth phase but has a lovely muscular athletic feel, lissom limbs & well shaped tail balances. Sprayed on coat with satin texture & a shine to rival that of the sun is of rather hot but even cream that has powdering on rounded surfaces, has the odd smudge on his inner forelegs & indeterminate marks on his tummy. In splendid condition & beautifully presented, I adore this gorgeous boy who is another soppy great twit with whom I had a lovely cuddle! I foresee a rosy future for him!! CREAM BURMESE FEMALE KITTEN. 1 present.1st PALLISTER’s SOMATIR ANGELINA. 4 mths, 3 wks.Short blunt wedge of good width, lovely wide dome, large well shaped ears are set too high thus fail to follow the line of the wedge. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, distinct break & a deep level chin. Well set gold eyes of fair shape should be larger & more lustrous. Chunky lass of good size has well muscled body of good weight, sturdy legs, neat oval paws, tail of good shape & length but is rather thick. Rather long, quite close-lying coat with a harsh feel is of very debatable colour indeed & in my view borders on the Apricot especially as it lacks the distinct bloom & resultant powdered effect on rounded areas that should be present in a true Cream & the ears were very dark in colour too. The SOP originally called for a medium cream but I see that it no longer does so & wonder when the description was changed as I don’t remember being advised of the fact. A very sweet soul in good physical condition but who I feel could have been a little better prepared. BROWN TORTIE BURMESE NEUTER. 1 for BoB only.BoB to TEGG’s Gd Ch & Gd Pr MINOTOSA PANDORA. 6 yrs, 1 mth.AV FOREIGN VISITORS’ ADULT. 8 present. A quality class – thanks folks.1st BRUCE-GARDNER’s Ch FRILFORD SILVER FILAGREE. Female. 72 43sq. 3yrs, 3 mths.Lovely short wide blunt wedge, top of head is wide & gently rounded, large broad based ears with rounded tips & forward tilt are set well apart thus continue the line of the upper part of the wedge. Profile shows a very good depth of skull from brow to lower jaw, rounding to brow & forehead, distinct break to short nose that has pale pink leather with dark brown outline, deep level chin & level bite. Large lustrous greenish yellow eyes with dark brown outline & paler silvery spectacle like surrounds are spaced well apart & are of correct shape the upper lids having the required slight slant towards the nose, the lower lids be more rounded thus have the essential scowling expression. Stylish mature queen of very good size, weight & has super muscular athletic feel, well shaped body has straight back, rounded chest, elegant muscular legs are of medium boning & good length, beautiful oval paws have brown pads & a smudge of brown colour up the heels towards the hocks, fractionally short tail of medium thickness that tapers at the tip which is brown in colour, has a silvery underside. Superb coat with healthy shine is really short, sleek & has satin texture, the rich warm seal brown shading colour is heaviest towards the tip of the shaft giving a sparkling effect then shades gradually down into the silver undercoat; regarding markings, she has an M on her forehead & a couple of leg bars. Adorable lady in immaculate condition & beautifully presented who I’m delighted to see later went on to become overall Best Exhibit in Show – well done! 2nd ARNOLD’s Ch PAPAVER ANDROMEDA. Female. 33 31s. 23 months, 3 wks.Medium high cheek boned wedge set on a muscular arching neck is longer than it is wide, narrows to a nicely rounded muzzle with medium length white wavy whiskers & eyebrows. Profile shows rounding to brow, flat skull at forehead & between ears, lovely straight profile, chin has good depth but recedes slightly, level bite. Lovely large wide based ears that taper to rounded tips & have the typical mussel-shell shape are set quite high on the head. Well set gold eyes are a little too large & full thus lack the desired expression. Elegant young queen of very good size & weight has slender muscular body of medium length, seems to stand on tip toe on long well muscled legs, dainty oval paws, tail that is well covered in wavy fur is fine, tapering & of good length. Soft yet dense coat has lovely silky feel but is excessively short on her neck & shoulders where it is completely straight, elsewhere on her body it is very well rexed in close waves. Super lass in top condition with an exceptionally sweet disposition – lovely to see her fulfilling all her early promise. 3rd YOUNG’s KWANSAN KALAHARI MIAKAT. Singapura Female. 13 months.AV ASIAN KITTEN. 1 present.1st HARRISON’s TAHIRAH STORMCHASER. Tiffanie Male. 5 ½ mths.AV FOR SH NON-BREEDERS’ KITTEN. 3 present.1st WHITEHOUSE’s ACCLAIM WHITECREST AZIZI. Silver Egyptian Mau Male. 6 months.A very promising young man indeed with a sweet nature & a lovely worried look. He has a little tarnishing around his nose, could be slightly bigger for perfection at this age & has a lot of gold in his eyes at present, but I’m being nit-picky & don’t doubt that he has a very rosy future. 2nd RICE’s BOUNTIFUL JOEBLACK. Black Smoke Devon Male. 8 mths, 2 wks.Going through the rapid growth phase thus everything about him seems long particularly his wedge today & any stop he might have had has disappeared for the nonce. Otherwise, he’s an adorable lad with a lovely mischievous look, of very good size & weight with slender well muscled body, good limbs & tail. His coat is fabulous apart from rather a lot of guard hairs down his spine which we’ll hope he’ll lose when he gets his winter coat. I shall look forward to seeing him again. 3rd BAILEY’s COLDENUFFORSNOW ZAFIRAH. Seal Point Snowshoe. Male. 4 ½ mths.AC BURMESE BREEDERS’ ADULT. 4 present.1st STEPHENS’s Gd Ch MILLGILL THEATRICS. Lilac Tortie. 3 ½ yrs.Sweetest girl of wonderful type & great to see her coat back to its usual sprayed-on condition – such a pity she wasn’t in my BOV line-up! 2nd MATTHEWS’s Ch KATCHYN MAI TAI. Brown Tortie. 3 yrs, 7 mths.Another super girl of very good type, fabulous smouldering expression & lovely coat but sadly very aggressive indeed today thus not doing herself any favours. 3rd TARBUCK’s Ch MOLYROSSI STARBUCK. Lilac Female. 2 yrs all but.AC BURNMESE RADIUS ADULT. 1 present.1st MATTHEWS’s Ch KATCHYN MAI TAI. Brown Tortie. 3 yrs, 7 mths.AC BURMESE DEBUTANTE KITTEN. 4 present.1st BRIDGES’s SANLIS JUST CRUZIN’. Brown Male. 4 months.Super wedge & top of head, large ears are well shaped & set. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, fairly well defined break to short nose, deep level chin & level bite. Well shaped & set primrose yellow eyes have typical expression but should be larger & more lustrous. What a whopper! I had to check this bonny lad’s age, he’s such a size (& good it is to see, too), well muscled & of excellent weight with a lovely hard muscular feel, slender muscular legs, large oval paws ( looks like he’s going to be huge!), well shaped tail balances. Short, sleek, shining coat going through the pale phase still but colour is plenty warm enough. A sweet, alert lad in splendid condition who I’m sure will go all the way! I’ll look forward to seeing him again when no doubt I’ll need to bring a crane (or my beloved husband) with me! 2nd GRAY’s KELOUGRAY MEIRONG. Lilac Female. 14 wks, 6 days.Lovely wedge, top of head & ears. Profile shows rounded brow & forehead, acceptable break to short nose, firm level chin & bite is level but there is a dentition fault in that the upper incisors are concave. Expressive yellow-chartreuse eyes are well sized, shaped & set. Well grown baby has well shaped & muscled body of good weight, shapely limbs, good tail. Fabulous coat for one so young that is of the most beautiful even pink-hued faded dove grey with a lovely healthy shine. Utterly adorable & in splendid condition, unlucky to meet winner whose superior profile gave him the edge. Another whose career I shall watch with interest. 3rd PALLISTER’s SOMATIR ANGELINA.
