CUMBERLAND CAT CLUB SHOW 10th October 2009. DR BRUCE BENNETT.

A splendid and busy day at the William Howard School, Brampton. Many thanks to Jennifer and Ian for their invitation, and all their hard work; also to Pina Bruno-Greive who stewarded to the manor born, sticking to her last through a long and busy day while providing efficient help and sunny companionship the while. I look forward to our next outing.

NORWEGIAN FOREST KITTEN.

1. BoB. DOBSON’S MAYSULA OBSIDIANE. F. (67 31s) 5mths 1wk.

Black smoke and white young lady, with a triangular head, rather prominent whisker pads giving the impression of bluntness and a tiny pinch, though this was not actually reflected in the boning when the soft tissues were smoothed back. Excellent profile, virtually straight, chin has good depth, slopes back very slightly, incisors meet very well. Ears open and wide based, of good size and set, outer edges following the wedge’s lines, well spaced, crown very gently rounded between. Eyes set obliquely, large, just oval, wide open with wonder, amber toned with a hint of green around pupil. Strong little body, stands high on substantial limbs, higher at rear, very splendid large tufted paws. Tail of excellent length, reaching to base of neck. Kitten coat developing, texture still a little fine with the distinction between undercoat and overcoat as yet not clearly evident, tail furnishing on the way; excellent curling internal ear furnishings, terminal tufting not yet prominent, remarkable long whiskers.

HAVANA ADULT.

BoB. HARVEY’S CH FIORDILISO CUBA. M. (29) 1yr 1mth.

Boy of very good type though just a tad dainty for a full male. Splendid even wedge with an excellent topline, large, widely spaced ears showing appealing flare, wicked expression in his oriental, olive green eyes. Straight profile, chin slopes back slightly but bite meets well. Lithe body, limbs and tail matching. Super texture to his coat, fitting like the proverbial glove, sleek, sound somewhat dark chestnut shade. Just needs a touch more substance.

FOREIGN WHITE ADULT.

1. CC. BoB. BRASH’S CH RIVANESS MIZ-BELLE. F. (35) 1yr 1mth.

My, hasn’t this lady grown since last we met. Now of very good substance indeed. Wedge fairly even, with ears of good set and flare. Eyes a touch open but they came down well in her pen to oriental set and shape, good blue. Profile straight, chin lines up, incisors meet, just scissored over. Body large and strong, limbs to match, tail needs just alittle length for balance. Coat a little long, excellent texture, clear unsullied white. HAVANA KITTEN. 1. BoB. PORT’S ENIGMATIC KILLER OFGIANTS. M. (29) 4mths. Typy mite with a lovely even wedge sporting ears of excellent size and flare, well spaced upon it. Eyes of good shape and set, olive green, excellent expression. Profile almost straight, chin aligned, teething bit meets. Neat body and limbs, tail of length. Sleek sound coat, rather dark chestnut, hint of ghost banding still evident.

ORIENTAL CINNAMON KITTEN.

1. BoB. SIMPSON’S WESTGARTH WILD-GINGER. F. (37k) 7mths.

Rather a squeaker with a very good even wedge adorned by large ears, well spaced and flared, eyes a little open initially but resolved into excellent oriental shape, light green in tone. Profile shows a slight angle at the brow, straight above and below this. Firm body and limbs, tail needing a little more length to balance. Coat of good length and texture, slightly cool toned cinnamon, shade a little uneven over the back.

ORIENTAL LONGHAIR KITTEN.

1. BoB. McPARLIN’S STARAPPEAL EL CID. M. (62 36) 3mths 2wks.

Longhair orientals are very strong at present and here is another example. Longhair kitten of excellent development and strength of head. Excellent even wedge graced by large ears, open and flared in line, just the merest tad high when interested. Eyes of attractive oriental shape and set, dull green at present Profile curved at the brow, then straight to the nose. Body very well grown for his age, limbs and tail in proportion. Coat developing length, good texture to it. Excellent clear silver undercoat about half way up the hair shafts to the pleasing black tipping; Facial tracings showing smoking, leg bars and tail rings rather prominent at present.

ORIENTAL BLACK NEUTER MALE.

1C. BoB. HALLIDAY’S GR PR TOGHAR MIDNITE MAJIK. MN. (37) 1yr 11mths.

Splendid person of very good type. Wonderful wedge crowned by large ears, spaced and flared just so. Bright green oriental eyes with good expression. Temperament seemed a little bolder than when seen recently and it does become him. Excellent straight profile, chin and bite satisfactory. Large strong body and limbs, tail might be a tad longer and has a tiny terminal indiscretion. Dazzling, shiny sound black coat. Later Best Oriental; congratulations.

ORIENTAL BLACK NEUTER FEMALE.

1. PC Withheld. SHORE’S TIJANMEEK CALLERLILLI FN (37) 11mths 1wk.

Girl of fairly good type, just adult and still looking kittenish. Wedge even, with ears of good size, held just a little up at present, eyes very round, green good. Profile straight, chin lines up, bite meets. Body a little cobby meantime, limbs good, tail could be a little longer. Excellent sound gleaming black coat. Needs to mature a little.

ORIENTAL SHADED NEUTER.

BoB. LUND’S GR PR SMAUG TY. MN (43ds) 2yrs 7mths.

Big growly fellow of good type. Wedge of length, tiny pinch, ears of good size and set, could be a little more spaced for preference. Shaped eyes, amber green in tone. Excellent straight profile, chin good, bite on display, seemed level. Substantial body and limbs, tail just matching. Very good coat, silver undercoat well up the hair shafts to the typical slightly soft red shading, very evenly distributed over body. Tail rings and broken necklaces in evidence.

AC ORIENTAL LONGHAIR NEUTER.

1. PC. BoB. WEBB’S PIPPASTRO BLUE CALIFORNIA. MN. (62 43a) 1yr 1mth.

Young man of very good type with a lovely strong, even wedge head, balancing ears well set in line, eyes of excellent shape and green colour. Profile almost straight, chin and bite level. Lovely profuse coat of length and flow, marginally dry in texture today. Shading a pleasing soft mid blue, undercoat clearly evident and substantial in length on flanks and thighs, less clear down spine; it is very pale indeed, almost white rather than the described beige which appears really only on the mask and limbs.

AC SLH BREEDER’S KITTEN.

1. KILMARTIN’S NITERAP MARMAZETTE. F. (64 41sw) 7mths 1wk.

A striking girl of well balanced type and good development. Strong wedge showing the bridge midway between between ears and nose as required. Good breadth to balance, just slightly less than the length of wedge, cheekbones high, cheeks showing a becoming curve, muzzle squared off but retaining femininity, lovely unexaggerated gentle concave curve from brow to nose, chin firm and in line with nose leather, incisors meet. Ears upright, well spaced and broad at the bases, nicely tapered to their tips, might perhaps be marginally larger to balance, profusely furnished internally and with little tip tufts. Eyes set obliquely, looking a little oriental initially when she was sleepy, more rounded when taking notice, amber green. Substantial body, well developed for age, giving the described overall rectangular look, strong limbs, sizeable round, well tufted paws; tail of length, reaching to shoulders, well furnished. Full coat; undercoat well developed, topcoat showing glossiness and good flow; breeches developing. Super silver tabby and white pattern, pristine white on mask, chest, belly and paws; in tabby patches, preponderance of silver giving a lovely soft ethereal look..

2. BROWN’S DALEEMA CHAMPAGNE QUARTZ. MN. (13c5). 7mths 2wks.

Lovely lad, well grown, poised and sure of his quality. Head already broad and rounded, full cheeks, strong muzzle of medium length, profile showing quite a firm dip and a little bump above the nose leather, chin firm, excellent level bite. Spaced ears of mid size, perhaps slightly cupped, lovely eye shape, good mid blue. Body well developed, already firm and lengthy, sturdy limbs, rounded paws, medium length balancing tail. Coat profuse, good length and soft texture, ruff not yet developed, curly tummy. Very soft red legs, mask and tail richer toned. Symmetrical gloves, socks and gauntlets, correctly distributed, very faintly outlined in the soft red. Wonderful palest creamy body for contrast.

3. BRYANT’S MIGATOBONITO HOT LIPS. F. (64 44e) 3mths 3wks.

Wide awake and alert little person with a medium length wedge, muzzle yet to develop typical outline and length to balance. Profile shows rather a prominent curve from brow to nose. Strong chin, incisors just a whisper under meantime. Excellent large upright ears, high and apart, open, well furnished internally and showing tufts at the points already. Eyes set obliquely and just a little oval rather than round as yet, amber in colour. Strong little body and limbs, huge well tufted paws to grow into. Good development of coat already, wooly tummy, overcoat beginning to show some flow, lengthy tail with furnishing on the way. Pattern shows black tabby tracings on mask, with forehead M, cheek lines, whisker spots, leg barring and nascent tail rings; body barring evident contrasting to a warm background, all overlaid by softest red patching.

1. BULL’S SILKYSU SUMMER SOLSTICE. F. (32b1) 2yrs 4mths.

Lady of very good size and type with a wonderfully even long wedge head, excellent large ears showing spacing and flare, super oriental eyes of deep blue. Very straight profile, chin and bite level. Strong, well developed body and limbs, tail needs a little length to balance. Coat lies close, seal points all well broken by various shades of red, some showing good brightness. Quite a bit of body shading but sufficient contrast.

2. JONES’ CH SARAMESE GOODLUCKCHARM. F. (24c) 1yr 2mths.

Very flighty girl of fine type with a lovely even wedge, beautifully spaced and flared ears of size crowning it, oriental shape to her eyes, pupils very dilated, blue seemed good. Profile almost straight, chin lines up, bite meets. Fine, svelte body and limbs, tail of good length. Excellent short, close lying coat of good texture, showing soft, mid lilac points matching well, with a lovely clear magnolia body for contrast.

Another comely lady, well grown, with a long, slightly pinched wedge, ears of good size and flare set upon it, crown a little flat between, eyes of oriental shape and incline, good blue shade. Profile shows just the tiniest dip, chin and bite level. Very well developed body and limbs, tail to match. Seal points well broken by pale shades. Some tortie body shading but contrast there.

2. DENHOLM’S MEESHA HERRIMOKO. F. (32b2) 4mths 3wks.

Nice lass with and even wedge, a little blunt at the muzzle, good oriental blue eyes, ears well set and flared. Profile shows a slight dent at the bridge, teething (two pairs of canines currently in place!), incisors level. Balanced body, limbs and tail. Points are of a rather dark blue, breaks a little on the warm side, and the pigmented areas on the pads are bluish brown. She is heading for the caramel sector I think.

AV ORIENTAL OR SIAMESE KITTEN 6-9 MONTHS.

Very well grown, handsome chap who could already hold his own in adult classes. Long strong wedge, minor pinch, large well flared ears, nicely aligned, good blue shade to his oriental eyes. Attractive gent with a long wedge, slight pinch there, ears of good size, might be just a tad more flared, good oriental eyes that need a little more clarity to the green.
