NORTH WEST CAT CLUB. 25th September, 2010, DR BRUCE BENNETT.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this busy Show capably run as usual by Lesley and Jenny to both of whom my thanks for the invitation to judge. Thanks also to Darryl Yates who agreed to steward at short notice and proved a very efficient and congenial companion; I hope he will repeat the performance soon.

AC ORIENTAL GRAND CHAMPION ADULT MALE.

Imp GR CC to CASSAR-SIMMONDS’ GR CH CIATRA BASHFUL BRUNO. M. (37) 2yrs 8mths.

Imposing gentleman of very good type. Excellent triangular wedge head, splendid broad top to it between large ears set well, though his temperament on the day inclined him to hold them down a bit, excellent eyes for shape and minatory expression, olive green in colour. Profile virtually straight, chin aligned, upper incisors absent, rather untidy lower ones look as if bite met. Body medium large and firmly muscular, limbs and paws to match, tail balancing. Super, sleek, sound jet black mantle. Definitely made for the end of the witch’s broomstick.

AC ORIENTAL GRAND CHAMPION ADULT FEMALE.

1. (Imp GR CC Withheld).HIRST’S GR CH TOGHAR PASTICHE. F. (37h) 3yrs 2mths.

Very attractive lady with an even wedge, adorned by large ears that might be just a little more spaced for preference, well set otherwise and held in line. Eyes of good light green, oriental in shape, marginally open on the day. Patrician profile, just convex, chin strong and bite marginally undershot. Firm body, limbs and tail proportionate. Superb coat, close fitting chocolate with good warmth to the well distributed breaks.

AC SIAMESE/BALINESE PREMIER NEUTER MALE.

Good Class, seven entered, one absentee.

GR PC to HOWARD & HANBY’S GR PR AMARRICHI PRICELESS PRINCE. MN. (24) 3yrs 6mths.

Most impressive strong neuter with an even wedge head, marginal pinch, good broad top between large ears, open and flaring out handsomely, excellent depth of blue to his inclined oriental eyes. Profile shows the gentlest smooth convexity, chin aligned, might be a little deeper, bite meets, just scissored slightly. Strong masculine body, matching limbs and tail. Dense seal brown points, with excellent warm pale creamy body for super contrast, just a little shading over his lower back.

RES GR PC to WEBB’S PR PIPPASTRO BOLSHOI. MN. (61n) 2yrs 2mths.

Another most handsome individual with a very strong triangular head graced by large open ears with elegant flare to them, eyes of oriental shape and incline, clear blue, just a wee bit more open than the seal boy’s. Another very good gently convex profile, chin and bite lining up. Body firm and strong, balancing limbs and tail. Very good coat, soft and flowing, soft caramel points and excellent contrasting off white body.

Also considered.

WHITING’S PR TOWRA ANGELO. MN. (24a) 1yr 9mths;

Pleasing person with an even wedge, perhaps just a hint narrow, ears of good size set in line with it, open oriental eyes, of blue that might be a little deeper ideally. Good smooth profile, chin slopes gently back, bite meets. Strong body, matching limbs, tail needs a tad to balance. Matching points of soft blue shade, body showing shading in similar tones.

TURVEY’S PR STYPERSON BIJOU. MN. (24b) 4yrs 2mths.

Boy with a good even wedge, correct eye shape and colour, ears smartly set on the wedge, held a little high at times. Profile shows a gentle dish, chin lines up, level bite. Strongly muscular body, limbs and tail to match. Chocolate points a touch dark, excellent contrast to the superb, clear ivory body.

TURVEY’S PR STYPERSON MYSTIQUE. MN. (24n) 4yrs 2mths.

Lad with an attractive, shorter, even wedge, on which ears are well set, open and flared, might be just a little larger for preference. Super eyes for shape and set, mid blue in colour. Body huge and firm, limbs and tail balancing. Coat condition good, showing typical lilac based caramel points contrasting to the body that shows some shading in the same tones as the points.

SHORE’S PR ROYSTERER RAZZLE DAZZLE. MN. (32 9) 1yr 7mths.

Graceful fellow of good type, still looking a touch adolescent. Wedge long, even and elegant, large ears to complement it, eyes of good oriental shape and colour, set slightly deep. Very good smoothly convex profile, chin and bite line up. Body long and lithe, limbs and tail in keeping. Close coat, shows very delicate soft, mushroomy tabby tracings with a stunning clear body for striking contrast.

AC SIAMESE/BALINESE PREMIER NEUTER FEMALE.

GR PC to GREEN’S IGR CH & GR PR MAPU ALLEGRA. FN. (24n) 5yrs 11mths.

Very elegant senior, described many times on her way to Imperial status as an entire lady, now hurtling up the ranks as a neuter. Excellent even equilateral wedge on which proportionate ears are flared in precise alignment, eyes of very good oriental shape and incline, good blue in colour. Smooth arch to her profile, chin lines up, untidy bite meets. Elegant, feminine body, limbs and tail match. Coat a little long but lies well, very good matching mid caramel points, super contrast to her body that retains its unshaded off white properties.

SILVER SERIES MAINE COON KITTEN FEMALE.

1. BoB. COXALL’S LIONMAINE TANZANIKA. F. (64 41asw)

Blue Silver Tabby and White. 20.4.2010. 5mths . Appealing little lady with a well proportioned head for width to length ratio, muzzle nicely squared and well defined cheek bones to the touch. Solemn expression to her rounded gold eyes, set obliquely inclined, ears of good size, an ear’s breadth apart, wide based, held open and well upright, neatly tufted and internally furnished. Profile shows the required gentle curve to the nose, chin curves gently back but is of good depth. I pondered her bite for a while. The central lower incisors are trying to come forward, minimally in advance of the uppers but they do just touch at present so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and will trust that, as an adult, this does not persist. Body firm and rectangular in outline and beginning to stretch out, strong limbs to match, paws round and beginning to show tufting. Kitten coat shows the beginnings of topcoat development, with guard hairs coming through over the lower back and furnished tail, baby breeches developing. Blue coat pattern shows forehead and facial tracings, shoulder pattern developing, necklace and bracelets, body pattern slightly blurred against the bright silver background, a little tarnishing evident on face and over one shoulder; neat white paws and undercarriage.

HAVANA KITTEN FEMALE.

1. BoB. CASSAR-SIMMONDS’ TOGHAR INFIDELITY’S LEGACY. F. (29) 4mths 1wk.

Dainty baby with a lovely equilateral wedge head crowned by large spaced ears that at present are slightly cupped, eyes of good almond shape, nicely inclined and of good green shade. Profile shows a smooth arch, firm chin lines up with nose, bite just meets. Neat little body and limbs, tail at present needs a bit more to balance. Coat of kittenish length, fairly sound, slightly uneven, good warm chestnut shade.

FOREIGN WHITE KITTEN FEMALE.

1. BoB. DAVIES’ BURNTHWAITES CAUZINASTORM. F. (35) 8mths.

Pretty lady, slightly grumbly, with a long wedge, tiny pinch, elegant large spaced ears well flared to flatter it, eyes a little straight set, mid blue in colour. Good profile, virtually straight, chin a little shallow, incisors meet, scissored over. Long, slender body, matching limbs, dainty paws, tail balances. Coat close and smooth lying, excellent bright white throughout.

ORIENTAL BLUE NEUTER.

1. PC. BoB. ANDERSON’S GR PR FIORDILISO EARL GREY. MN. (37a) 2yrs 3mths.

Attractive lad, though rather shy with it. Even equilateral wedge head, on which ears of balancing size are well set, flaring nicely; eyes slightly open, almond shaped, greenish amber. Excellent straight profile, chin lines up and bite level. Large, long, rather tense body has lost a little in the midriff area since we met last and looks ever so much more elegant as a result, long tail to balance, tiniest nubbin at its end. Very splendid coat short and close with a shine not often seen in this colour, an attractive mid blue shade.

ORIENTAL RED NEUTER.

1. PC. BoB. HALLIDAY’S GR PR TOGHAR TERRA COTA. MN. (37d) 3yrs 2mths.

Very long elegant wedge to this individual, open ears of good size set in alignment; inclined eyes of oriental shape, clear light green. Good profile, virtually straight, chin lined up with nose, many incisors missing but bite level. Rangy long body, limbs to match, tail just balancing. Coat a little open on the day, good rich red, commendably modest tabby shading.

SEAL POINT SIAMESE ADULT MALE.

BoB. GIBBONS’ GR CH RICHDALE LONE RANGER. M. (24) 3yrs 7mths.

Stunning colour to this gent, whose type is good too. Long wedge, slight ‘waist’ to it, good breadth to its top between large well aligned open ears, oriental shape to his well set eyes of good blue. Very good profile, smoothly patrician, firm chin, lower incisors missing but bite looks to have been level. Strong body with balancing limbs and tail. But oh his colour! Haven’t seen a seal so good (apart from himself when younger) for ages. His seal points contrast beautifully to the warm creamy tones of the body, a reminder of just how many points the standard assigns to body colour; glorious!

SEAL POINT SIAMESE ADULT FEMALE.

Considered for BoB. BROCK’S GR CH KEVELS PURRSONALITY. F. (24) 2yrs 9mths.

Lovely, lengthy girl with a strong, equilateral wedge head, complemented by large, open ears set well in line, eyes of good blue shade, and almond shape, set on a good incline. Profile shows two straight planes gently angled at the brow, muzzle has good depth, chin is firm and bite excellent. Long lithe body and limbs, neat paws, tail needs some length for balance. Matching seal points with fairly shaded body but it retains warmth of tone.

CHOCOLATE POINT SIAMESE ADULT MALE.

1. CC. BoB. UNDERHILL’S RAYNARDS’ MISTER BINKS. M. (24b) 10mths 1wk.

A vocalist! with a good equilateral wedge head with large ears showing very good spacing and flare, shaped eyes of good blue. Profile just convex with a hint of straightness just above the brow. Body of medium size, consistent with his youth, limbs and tail in proportion. Good chocolate shade to his tail and slightly uneven paws, mask slightly darker. Creamy ivory body shows slight shading to tone.

CHOCOLATE POINT SIAMESE ADULT FEMALE.

1 CC Withheld. COX’S KHERAF COXSPIPPIN. F. (24b) 1yr 4wks.

Pleasing lady with an equilateral wedge with open ears of balancing size, well set to follow its lines. Profile virtually straight, just a little dent at the brow, chin firm and bite meets. Body firm, medium sized, limbs and tail in keeping. Rich, slightly dark chocolate points, very good ivory body for contrast. Would have had the CC but we just could not get her to stop squinting. Really sustained squints are pretty rare, but I practically turned cartwheels for her and she wouldn’t oblige, to my regret

APRICOT POINT SIAMESE ADULT.

1. CC. BROWNRIGGS’CH CHAPELROSE HOLY MOSES. M. (32fn) 1yr 3mths.

Typy fellow, retaining just a touch of engaging adolescent gormlessness. Wedge long and even, in which blue eyes of good oriental shape are set well, and adorned by large open, well aligned ears. Straight profile, chin well aligned, excellent bite. Medium long body with matching limbs and tail. Good warm points, excellent contrast to pale warm white body. Would like just a little more masculinity to his appearance ideally.

AC JUNIOR ORIENTAL ADULT.

1. BAUERFEIND’S CH SHIMILEETA TOSEXYFORMYFUR. M. (43b) 1yr 5mths.

This lad has super type with a very distinguished, equilateral wedge, excellent large ears, widely spaced and showing most becoming flare to them, oriental olive eyes set well in the wedge and with a lovely mysterious expression. Good profile, level chin and bite. Body large and strong, limbs and tail matching. As before, his pattern does not quite keep pace with his type, his coat being heavily ticked with a faint tabby ghost pattern, the back shows no shading being solid to the skin and the undercoat is underdeveloped elsewhere.

2. CASSAR-SIMMONDS’ FIORDILISO INDIAN PRINCE. M. (48 40) 10mths 1wk.

Boy of handsome type, with an even sided triangular wedge, the proportionate ears very well placed and flared to flatter, eyes of excellent blue, well shaped and inclined. Profile nearly straight, good muzzle firm chin and level bite. Body firmly muscled, size appropriate to age, balancing limbs, neat paws, tail needs alittle length to balance. Seal pointed pattern complemented by lots of white, all down belly, and on mask, limbs and shoulders.

3. YATES’ HIDCOTE MONTE CARLO. M. (48 38a) 1yr 3mths.

Very comely chap, with a strong, even wedge, excellent green oriental eyes, large ears, set and flared becomingly. Profile a proud arch, chin firm, excellent teeth and bite. Strong body, with limbs and tail in proportion. Predominantly white coat, the blue patches on his limbs show tabby barring in keeping with his registration number, but on the head are curiously solid, lacking tabby features.

AC DEBUTANTE ORIENTAL ADULT.

1. ENTWHISTLE’S ADNIOSH COCO-MINK. F. (29c) 1yr 2mths.

Lady with a pleasing wedge head crowned by ears of balancing size and flare, oriental eyes of bright green, set well. Brow curved, profile from eyes to nose leather straight, deep muzzle, firm chin, level bite. Body of medium size, had lunched well as had we, limbs and tail balance. Coat colour had rather a brown tone, fairly sound, good condition.

AC ORIENTAL BREEDER’S KITTEN.

1. SHORT’S TILSIE QUE SERA SERA. F. (37m) 3mths 1wk.

Dainty most appealing baby with a super little equilateral wedge crowned by large ears, very good oriental green eyes. Baby profile, teething bite. Plump little body, balancing limbs and tail. Coat of kitten fluffiness, mid cinnamon shows good breaks though they are pale in tone. Temperament ideal for charming judges

2. PARKINSON’S SMAUG NANDA. F. (43bs) 4mths 1wk.

Very striking chocolate silver shaded. Long wedge head in which are set eyes of good green that are a little open, dominating the face rather, ears of balancing size, and set. Good straight profile, level chin and bite. Well grown body, limbs and tail match. Stunning coat, the silver pushing a long way up the hair shafts to the very delicate dusting of chocolate

3. HIRST’S TOGHAR ZINFANDEL. M. (37k) 4mths 1wk..
x3. DAVIES’ BURNTHWAITES CAUZINASTORM. F. (35) 8mths.

2.LOWELL’S GR PR SUSPIRIA WILLIAM BECKFORD. MN. (37k) 3yrs 5mths.

Most appealing big guy with a short, even wedge, well set ears of mid size, olive green eyes of good shape. Profile shows a little dip at the brow, chin firm, bite level. Body very large and strong, powerful proportionate limbs, tail needs a little length to balance all that. Coat condition excellent, if slightly long, not quite sound but very even warm cinnamon.

3. THIRSK’S TENAJ BRONZEMYSTIC. MN. (29) 1yr 5mths.

Well grown boy with a long even wedge, ears of size set well in line, very good eyes for shape, blue needs a bit more depth. Good straight profile, chin and bite aligned.
