WEST OF ENGLAND & SOUTH WALES CAT SOCIETY 28th August 2010 DR BRUCE BENNETTA most enjoyable Show, large and bustling; my thanks to Grace Wylde and all concerned for their invitation and hospitality. Jane Haggar came to steward for me and once again proved to be a most congenial and capable companion on a busy day. Many thanks, Jane, and I look forward to our next collaboration. AC GR CH SIAMESE/BALINESE ADULT, MALE.Imp GR CC to WILLIAMS’ GR CH POLLYBEE LORD-ROYSTERER. M. (24c) 2yrs 8mths.Described in detail a few weeks ago. Just as splendid as ever. Strong type, mature wedge, balancing ears flaring out in line, very sleepy today (it was warm!) making his good blue oriental eyes look a little straight set till he wakened up, correct profile, muzzle strong and deep, bite that meets. Strong masculine body and limbs, tail balances. Coat as ever like silk, delicate lilac points and body that glows with the lustre of several hundred Watts at least. AC GR CH SIAMESE/BALINESE ADULT, FEMALE.Imp GR CC to GR CH KAMIK THEONEANDONLY. F. (32b1) 13.3.2010. 4yrs 4mths.Very handsome lady that I remember admiring from some time ago, very well balanced all round. Very even wedge, perhaps the tiniest bit blunt at the muzzle, broadly spaced ears set in line upon it, well set oriental eyes of good blue with an excellent expression. Arching profile, chin slopes gently, excellent bite. Strong body, matching limbs, neat paws, tail might benefit from just a tad to balance perfectly. Pleasing coat texture, seal points all well broken by warm reds, body now shows some shading, good warm cream evident on the bib for contrast, cute pale tip to her tail. MAINE COON BROWN/BLUE TABBY KITTEN, MALE.1.JENKIN & GAY’S CHEVYCOONS SMOKEY JOE. M. (64 41)Brown Classic Tabby. 13.3.2010. 5mths 2wks.Very well grown boy, large and strong. Strongly boned head, with correct proportions, muzzle palpably square in outline, sufficient cheek boning though it might be more defined, greenish amber eyes, appropriately gentle oblique set, rounded, might be just a little fuller. Well spaced ears, tapering and held upright, need to be a little larger for balance. In profile, the required gentle curve from the brow is just discernible, nose leather and chin line up. Body well developed with breadth of chest, long and strong with the required squareness of rump, substantial legs, rounded, tufted paws and tail of good length, reaching base of neck. Coat still a little short with top coat gloss developing over back and flanks, breeches and ruff on the way, as is tail furnishing which shows flow; ears show internal feathering and the beginnings of tufts at the tips.. The face shows the requisite tabby tracings, the crown is rather solid but tabby markings are evident at the base of the neck. Pattern is not well defined on the body. Shoulder pattern is lacking and the back and flanks are solid with only a hint of oysters present. There are complete necklaces and good bracelets and faint tail ringing. MAINE COON BROWN/BLUE TABBY KITTEN, FEMALE.1. BoB. BEST & MATTHEW’S TASSARA TAFIMA. F. (64 41) Brown Classic Tabby. 19.2.2010. 6mths 1wk.Pleasing lass of good type and pattern. Medium length head, width in correct proportion, bridge appropriately placed halfway between earline and nose, well defined square muzzle, nose of uniform width, broad high cheekbones. The ears are of good size, tapering, spaced an ear’s breadth apart and she holds them high when disposed to do so. Rounded eyes show fullness and the required slightly oblique aperture. Profile shows a good shallow curve from the brow to the nose, which lines up with the firm chin. She has a long, long rectangular body with the requisite squareness of outline at the rump, matching strong limbs, rounded paws, the tail reaching to just above the shoulders. Distinction of topcoat is evident with glossiness developing over the back, the ears well furnished internally and showing tufting, as do the paws. The pattern is well defined with clear tracings on the face, over the crown to the neck, with shoulder pattern, back and flank oyster markings good, a complete necklet, bracelets and tail rings, appealing delicately outlined nose leather. 2. CARDEN & FERGUSON’S SHEERCLASS BLUE BELLAGIO. F. (64 41aw) Blue Classic Tabby and White. 20.5.2010. 3mths 1wk.Sweet little girl, just out of the nursery, with a correctly proportioned head, adorned by ears of good size, held upright, tapering and spaced well, pale amber eyes inclined, might be a little fuller ideally. Neat muzzle shows a square outline, full cheeks, and nose of uniform width. Profile shows the gentle curve to the nose leather, a firm, aligned chin and level bite (teething). The neat little body is squarish, the limbs strong, paws large and the tail just long enough, reaching to the shoulders. The developing coat shows good tabby facial pattern, rather solid crown, good markings on the nape, shoulder pattern developing with discernible oysters on the flanks, a rather solid back, tail rings, good bracelets and a complete necklace all in mid blue shade against a beige ground, excellent bright white paws and tummy. The medium length coat itself shows some kittenish dryness, small ear furnishings and paw tufts are evident. MAINE COON SILVER TABBY SERIES KITTEN, FEMALE.1. BoB. HOPKINS’ CHEVYCOONS BLAZE. F. (64 41es) Brown Silver Tortie Tabby. 13.3.2010. 5mths 2wks.Somewhat of a prima donna, this girl who has balanced head proportions, a square, feminine muzzle, full, well rounded, copper eyes, aperture slightly inclined, and ears of good size and spacing (with excellent furnishings and little tufts) that she can hold nicely tall and high if she wishes. In profile there is a gentle curve brow to nose, with which the chin is well aligned; bite meets well. The body is long with a hint of girlish slenderness, but strong, square rump outline, substantial limbs, sizeable, tufted paws, tail of good length, reaching base of neck. Excellent coat with length and a significant top coat evident with some gloss to it, little breeches and a full tail, with a good tabby pattern, all elements present outlined in clear silver and, as expected, slightly blurred by the overlying warm reds. Tortied nose leather. 2. MASKELL’S KELFERRON WINTERBERRY. F. (64 41es) Brown Silver Tortie Tabby. 2.2.2010. 6mths 4wks.Older but less well grown than the above. Head of mid length, proportions correct, amber eyes, slightly inclined and fairly full, ears upright and very well tufted, might be a little more widely spaced. Muzzle fairly square, cheeks could be better defined, but the boning is there under the soft tissue, profile shows a slightly steep dip rather than a smooth curve to the nose leather, strong chin that lines up well, lower incisors half a millimetre under. Body long, slender yet firm, squarish in outline at the rump, proportionate limbs and tail, tufted paws of size. Another good coat with some glossy topcoat evident, breechlets and profuseness of tail. Good silver tabby pattern with necklaces, small oysters, tail rings, bracelets against a silver background, overlaid by soft reds. NORWEGIAN FOREST KITTEN , MALE.1. TUCKER’S ROWGARNOR BUFFALO BILL. M. (67 31ts). 5mths 3wks.Young fellow of good type, with an even, equilateral head, ears of size, wide based, open and following the head lines well, eau de nil eyes, oval and obliquely set. Super straight profile, chin slopes back gently, incisors meet, teething, double canines at present. Body long and firmly muscled, standing on lengthy hind legs, sizeable paws, excellent tail for length. Silver tabby coat on body shows overcoat emerging, assessment slightly complicated by earlier accident probably with water bowl which rendered quite a bit of nether regions wet, but had a presentable knickerbocker in evidence on the dry side at least, the other being a trifle bedraggled! Bright silver contrasts to the pattern and crisp white on the paws and underparts. Internal ear furnishings and paw tufts present. 2. TUCKER’S ELVENWEYR JETHRO (67 19) 4mths 2wks.Youngster with a medium length triangular wedge, sizeable ears set to follow its lines quite well, amber oval eyes set on a slightly oblique incline, expression grave and solemn. Profile nearly straight, chin lines up well, teething, incisors meet. Long lithe body, tall on limbs, tail could be a little longer for balance. Tabby coat in a sandy red shade fairly soft to the touch ,guard hairs overlying a rather dry textured undercoat, needing a little more preparation. NORWEGIAN FOREST KITTEN, FEMALE.1. BoB. HANDY’S FORESTSHADOW FRIKKA. F. (67 31ts) 5mths 1wk.A most handsome silver tabby and white young lady with a lovely broad top between her furnished, open ears, set high and of medium large size, set in good alignment to her equilateral head. Oval, amber eyes, open and set on correct incline enhance the picture; profile dead straight, firm chin of depth, level bite. Firm body of good length set on lengthy limbs, rear ones a little the taller, typical big paws, lengthy matching tail. Very good double coat with longer glossy guard hairs evident over the back, with woolly texture undercoat, soft waves on the tummy. Dazzling silver tabby with pristine white tufted paws to enhance, it though I know there are no points for colour and pattern. Shown in super condition. 2. TUCKER’S ELVENWYR ZIVA. F. (67 21) 4mths 2wks.Younger than the winner but well grown lass. Head a little shorter so the triangle is not quite equilateral, appearing isosceles rather, but nicely even, with ears of good size, wide based and of open set, following its lines up and slightly out, super internal furnishings. Eyes of oval shape, inclined as desired and with a mischievous expression. Profile shows a little curve crown to brow then straight to the nose leather, chin slopes very gently, bite meets. Strong body and limbs of length, paws showing tiny tufting, tail long with just the tiniest terminal expansion. The handsome tortie coat has kittenish qualities and has more length to acquire; it frames the face somewhat, disguising its actual shape, needing to be smoothed back to reveal the boning. Excellent condition. 3. HUGHES’ NORMAGIKATT RAPHAELA F. (67 31fts) 5mths.Sweet young lady, with a neat triangular head, ears of good size follow its lines quite well, excellent internal furnishings, oval eyes with gentle oblique incline. Profile a gentle convexity, firm chin, level bite. Body daintier than the similarly aged winner’s but has strength, limbs of appropriate relative lengths and size, paws substantial with little tufts appearing between the toes, tail good length reaching beyond the shoulders. Coat quite full but rather dry in texture, needing more preparation, cream soft in tone, the background lacking the brightness expected of silver. 4. TUCKER’S ELVENWEYR KAHLAN. F. (67 31a) 3mths 4wks.The babe of the class with less development, as a result; she has an even triangular head, spaced ears just slightly bonneted upon its corners at present, though they follow its lines well when viewed from the front, internal furnishings there. Oval eyes set on the oblique incline, alert expression, spectacular white eyebrows. Profile shows a slight brow curve, then straight to the nose leather, strong little chin, teething bite level. Body slender as yet, has good length with proportionate long limbs, lovely substantial paws, tail needs a little more length ideally. Coat of kittenish texture, a little dry and lacking fullness, just beginning to develop guard hairs, blue a little smokey as a result of the texture, smart white for contrast. Very appealing youngster. ORIENTAL BLACK KITTEN.1. BoB 352a (37) 4mths 3wks.Timid baby, with a medium length wedge, quite fine lines and little pinch, sporting lovely ears of good size, good green eyes, baleful expression to them. Profile nearly straight, chin lines up, incisors meet. Slender neckline, long slight body. Spidery slender limbs, neat paws, tail balances. Sleek and shining coat, a sound and unsullied jet black bodystocking. RED POINT SIAMESE KITTEN, MALE.1.BoB. BUTTON’S BETHANE BRANDIE M. (32a) 3mths 1wk.Sweet tiny tot, neat little wedge on which ears of balanced size are set quite well, inclined almond shaped eyes, blue could be more intense but acceptable. Arching profile, teething, incisors basically level. Neat wee body with matching limbs and tail. Coat shows kittenish length with washed out red appearing on the ears, ringed tail in similar tone, pale clear body. SEAL POINT SIAMESE NEUTER.BoB. GOURLEY & WARD’S GR PR DAZZLING BEN HUR. MN. (24) 4yrs 11mths.Handsome lad in sparkling form, with a triangular wedge, wee muzzle pinch, adorned by large ears, spaced and flared well. Wicked oriental eyes of acceptable blue. Profile shows a little bump over the muzzle, chin firm, irregular incisors meet. Long, firm body, limbs and tail proportionate. Warm seal points, no hood, body shows shading in similar tones but sufficient contrast present. Also considered; GRICE’S PR MANTINES LOOKWHOSTALKING. MN. (24) 1yr 2mths.Long, slender youth with a good wedge, broad top between large ears, well spaced and somewhat bonneted, inclined oriental eyes, set a little deep, good blue. Straight profile, chin and bite level. Long slender body, limbs and tail to match. Coat texture smooth, dark seal points with good contrast to the cool body. Lost out on masculinity to the mature lad. BLUE [POINT SIAMESE NEUTER MALE.1. PC. FREEMAN’S ADECIAM BLUE SEREN. MN. (24a) 2yrs 11mths.Adorable mature gent of very good colour. Wedge shortish with breadth at the top, crowned by well spaced ears neatly flared, that could be larger for balance. Almond eyes of good blue tone. Profile shows a little dent below the brows. Huge strong body and limbs, tail in keeping. His best features are his lovely soft blue points with good contrast to the cool body shaded in matching soft blue over the back. Has the gravitas of the mature individual. BLUE POINT SIAMESE NEUTER FEMALE.1. PC BoB. WATSON’S PR MALIKASIAM SAEEDA. FN. (24a) 2yrs 10mths.Substantial girl of good type, with a wedge of medium length, good topline, featuring well spaced ears showing nice flare. Oriental eyes with depth to their blue. Gently arched profile. Strong, lengthy body, limbs and tail match. Another set of good blue points here, with body showing substantial shading to match but sufficient contrast despite this. AV SLH NOVICE ADULT.1. HANCOCK’S CH JULESCOON JOE COONZACKI. M. (64 41w) Brown Classic Tabby & White. 24.10.2008. 1yr 10mths.Large, imposing male with a strong head, and good width, just less than length, bridge correctly midway between ear line and nose leather, well defined square muzzle, strong cheekbones, large tapering upright ears with at least an ears space between, internal furnishings and tufts at the points, rounded chartreuse eyes, might be just a little fuller, aperture just oblique. Nose width fairly uniform, gentle slope in profile from brow to mid muzzle, then straight to the nose tip, Muzzle has depth and chin lines up well. Strongly built chest, rectangular body, square rump, strong limbs, big tufted paws. Tail of good length to balance, reaches to base of neck. Coat texture good, topcoat distinct and shining, breeches and some ruff present, flowing tail. tabby pattern clear brown with warmth to its ground , though oysters could be slightly better defined ideally, smart white paws and tummy. 2. BEST & MATTHEWS’ TASSARA LORETTA LYNN. F. (64 41esw) Brown Silver Tortie Tabby(Classic) & White. 1yr 2wks.Young lady with a shorter broad head on which are set well spaced ears of good size, held very well upright, set apart and tapering nicely to tufted tips, internal furnishings present. Muzzle is broad, definition slightly obscured by the soft tissue of her whisker pads, but the square boning is there, broad cheek bones, rounded eyes set just oblique. Profile shows fairly steep curve brow to muzzle, chin firm, bite meets. Body long, strong and a little rangy, but she is an adolescent, square rump, substantial limbs and tufted paws, lengthy tapering tail reaching to base of neck. Attractive coat with appropriate glossiness of the topcoat on the back, little frilly breeches, demure ruff, profuse tail shows flow; silver classic pattern typically blurred by the tortie overlay. Coat seemed marginally short, seasonal presumably, glossy over- and woolly undercoat evident, with knickerbockers and some ruff evident, paw tufts and ear furnishings, Good condition; innocent expression despite his size. 3.
