WEST OF SCOTLAND CAT CLUB
13th December, 2008
Dr BRUCE BENNETT.
Another super show run by Caroline and Ian Thomson; my thanks to both of them and their Committee for their invitation. Pina Bruno stewarded for me, the first time we had worked together and we had a great day; I look forward to the next time. I inherited classes from Mrs Harper and Mrs Reed who were unable to attend; I hope that they are both returned to good health soon. Happy New Year to everyone.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE GR CH MALE.
1. Imp GR CC. SHAND’S GR CH ANDALYN AMADEUS. (24) 2yrs 6mths. Male of mid size with very good type, poised and elegant. Lovely head, an equilateral triangle with spaced ears flared in becoming alignment, eyes of almond shape, and good blue, well inclined and with a lofty expression. Very good profile, pleasing depth of chin, level bite though incisors a little ragged now. Elegantly balanced body, limbs and tail that has a tiny thickening near its root. Good seal brown points, body shaded but with more warmth of tone than when last met some time ago. Excellent condition, reserved temperament.
AC ORIENTAL CHAMPION MALE.
1. GR CC Withheld. TOSUN’S CH ADSETSH RUDOLPH (29) 1yr 11mths. A dear boy of considerable strength with a strong short wedge, muzzle being just a little fine for balance; ears well set, could be a little larger. Eyes good light green, rounded in shape, watchful expression. Profile shows a little dent in the middle, chin slopes back though bite meets well. Very good strong body, limbs and tail to match. Coat a little long, slightly open but has a nice shine to it; it is nearly sound and a pleasing warm, if slightly dark, chestnut shade. I was sorry to be unable to award; he has many positive attributes but too many little problems at this level.
AC ORIENTAL CHAMPION FEMALE.
1. GR CC. LINTON’S CH SHADOWSQUAD STARDUST. (37g) 1yr 9mths. This girl has matured well since we last met; having embarked on motherhood she is now in her splendid prime. Very lovely equilateral wedge head, graced by large open ears well spaced and set in becoming alignment. Eyes of oriental shape, well inclined, olive green. Profile shows a proud arch, chin is of good depth and bite meets. Body graceful and firm, long spidery limbs, neat paws and tail to balance it all. Coat lies smooth and close, slightly dark sound blue with good pale breaks, well distributed. Later best Oriental, well deserved.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE PR MALE.
1. GR PC BUCHAN’S PR KEELOKAN KAIKAI. (32.5) 2yrs 2mths. Spirited young man of very good type, with a very good even wedge head, large flyaway ears set well, eyes of very good oriental shape and incline, bright blue. Profile virtually straight, chin just a little shallow, bite meets. Body generously proportioned, sporting a little self indulgent sporran, xiphoid easily palpable, correctly aligned. Long limbs and tail, latter with the tiniest terminal indiscretion. Coat of good length and texture, good bright red tabby points, forehead scarab, cheek lines, soft leg bars, tail rings might be a little more defined. Good body contrast, soft matching shading evident. Still shows a hint of adolescent naughtiness.
AC SIAMESE/BALINESE PR FEMALE.
1. GR PC MULLEN’S PR BETHANJO BUTTONANDBOWS (32b3) 3yrs 1wk. Splendid large strong girl with an even, equilateral wedge head, super top with widely spaced large ears well flared which she tends to bonnet a bit at times. Eyes oriental of excellent deep blue tone. Profile shows a bit of a bump over the muzzle, good chin for depth, incisors lacking. Long strong body standing on tall limbs, tail balances. Points are good soft chocolate, somewhat darker over the muzzle, breaks showing excellent brightness here and there, ivory body showing modest typical tortie shading.
2. RES GPC. SPENCE’S PR SCOTMAR CLASSIE LASSIE. (24a) 1yr 8mths. Dainty little lady, showing beautiful overall balance. Very even equilateral triangular wedge on which proportionate, open ears are very well set in line. Eyes of excellent oriental shape and set and of a quite lovely deep blue shade. Gently arching profile, good depth of muzzle, chin lines up, bite meets. Neat, slender body, limbs and tail matching. Good soft blue points colour showing good contrast to cool softly shaded body. Also considered were two other lovely ladies;
GODWIN’S CH & GR PR GENETTA BLUE HYACINTH. FN. (24a) 5yrs 5mths, a mature lass described many times recently, with very good soft blue points and
LINTON’S I GR CH & PR FIORDILISO APRIL SHOWERS. FN (32b7) 4yrs 8mths, another senior lady also described on numerous occasions in the past, with super soft cinnamon tortie points and a very refined line in profanity.
HAVANA ADULT MALE
1. CC Withheld ALLISON’S TRELGANDORF TABACOLORD. 2yrs 7mths. A great old friend, pleased to meet him again. Lovely even type; even wedge head, large, well placed ears, oriental eyes of good soft green. Smoothly convex profile. Depth of chin, level bite. Balanced body, limbs and tail. Excellent soft, warm chestnut coat of commendable soundness and very good texture. This lad would have had a distinguished Show career but for the areas of depigmentation on his nose leather and paw pads that prevented the award of the certificate he would otherwise have richly deserved.
BoB TOSUN’S CH ADSETSH RUDOLF. 1yr 11mths.
ORIENTAL BLACK ADULT FEMALE.
1 CC BoB. HULL’S MAZPAHS CHANA BLACK. 9mths 1wk. Graceful lass, only just adult, of good type. Fine wedge head, tiny pinch, sporting ears of good size, set and flare. Oriental shape to her eyes of good clear green. Aristocratic arch to her profile, chin might be slightly deeper for preference but it lines up and the bite meets. Body slender and elegant, size appropriate to her junior status, limbs and tail match. Excellent shining sleek sound black coat. Taking life seriously.
ORIENTAL CINNAMON ADULT FEMALE.
1 CC. BoB. HAMILTON’S ADVISH WISTFUL WILLOW. 3yrs 1mth. Has matured well since seen some time ago. Wedge short and strong, ears well set, would like them a little larger, eyes held a little open, basic shape oriental, good bright clear green. Good straight profile, chin and bite level. Mid size, firm body, balancing limbs and tail. Healthy coat, of a very pleasing sound soft cinnamon shade, slightly dry texture.
HAVANA NEUTER.
BoB. WOOLLEY’S PR GENTANTIQUE ATHOLDORN. MN. 1yr 3mths. Engaging chap of medium size. Well balanced wedge head, ears placed nicely, eyes of good green, held just a little open as he supervised events; very good straight profile, chin lines up and bite meets. Still a tad chunky in the body, with not one, but two little sporrans of fat to fall back on should lunch be slow to arrive. Lovely glossy chestnut coat, sounder than when he was a kitten, very good texture.
ORIENTAL CLASSIC/MACKEREL TABBY NEUTER.
BoB BODDY’S PR EMERPUS LUCIFER. MN. (41b) 2yrs 6mths. Large strong gentleman of good type. Wedge even and with length to it, ears of good size flared well in line and eyes of good almond shape, attractively inclined, olive green in tone. Good firmly muscled body well balanced limbs and tail. Coat sleek in texture, tabby pattern in rich, darker chocolate, well developed facial markings, double necklets, shoulder pattern well broken up now, triple spine lines very widely spaced, like a three lane highway, oysters almost completely outlined, tail rings of considerable breadth. Background requires more warmth ideally and there is some invasion of the tabby patterning by it. Has considerable presence.
CHOCOLATE POINT SIAMESE ADULT FEMALE.
1 CC BoB SHAND’S PALMIRA SULAWEISI. 9mths 4wks. Graceful girl, size appropriate to youth. Fine wedge on which ears of good size are set and flared in alignment, well shaped almond eyes, set a little straight giving a slightly pensive expression, good blue tone. Profile shows a very shallow forehead depression above the slightly prominent eyebrows but is otherwise straight, chin and bite level. Slender firm body, matching limbs and tail that shows a little terminal twizzle. Coat of excellent texture, points a warm mid chocolate, slightly richer on the mask, excellent contrast to the unshaded, slightly cool body.
LILAC POINT SIAMESE FEMALE.
1 CC BoB MASON’S GENETTA ISLAY MIST. 1yr 1mth. Young lady of sound basic type with an even wedge of mid length balanced by ears of size, set and flared well in line. Eye shape oriental, lovely deep blue in tone. Profile almost straight, chin could be a little deeper for preference, bite meets scissored over. Long slender body, matching limbs, very good tail length. Loved her soft lilac points, just marginally darker on her ears, with excellent clear magnolia body for excellent contrast, making a charming overall picture.
RED POINT SIAMESE ADULT
1. CC BoB LINTON’S FIORDILISO TAKEN ASREAD 9mths 3wks.Youth of splendid type and development for his age. He has a very well balanced equilateral wedge head, lovely broad top between ears that are set just so to enhance it; lovely oriental eyes of good blue. Strong arching profile, chin lines up, bite level. Huge strong body just a hint too wide at the waistline, obviously likes his grub, balancing limbs and tail.
