THREE COUNTIES CAT SOCIETY

15th August, 2009.
DR BRUCE BENNETT

A well attended Show in its attractive and accessible new venue, run smoothly as ever by Sheila and Ivor to whom my thanks for their invitation.  Grahame Haggar came to steward for me and my thanks to him for his expert assistance and cheerful company on a busy day.

SIAMESE/BALINESE IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION MALE.

1. Imp GR CC Withheld. MARTIN’S GR CH GLENTHORNE CONSTANTINE.  M. (24) 3yrs 8mths.

Comely lad of very good type. Excellent topline with breadth between well flared, large ears, muzzle slightly fine full face for balance. Oriental eyes, well inclined, good blue tone, haws well over and this was fairly sustained spoiling his splendour, though he looked perfectly well. Excellent proud profile with good depth of muzzle that I always like, firm chin, bite meets. Firm body of medium size, slender legs, good length tail with a tiny terminal indiscretion. Dense seal points, darkly shaded body that is a somewhat cool, diminishing contrast now.

SIAMESE/BALINESE IMPERIAL GRAND CHAMPION FEMALE.

Imp GR CC MORGAN’S GR CH ASTRALBLAESE ANDROMEDA. F. (24n) 4yrs 9mths.

Looking quite transformed since I last saw her. Smart as paint today, with an even wedge, graced by large ears held in line now, might be just marginally more spaced for preference, eyes a little open out of the pen, but back in it they came down to a lovely oriental shape and slant, mid blue. Gently convex profile, good muzzle depth, chin ebbing marginally, bite level. Elegant neck carriage, strong body and limbs, tail just long enough to balance. Coat lying well, slightly long, well matched grey/brown points, excellent clear body for contrast.

ORIENTAL GRAND PREMIER MALE.

GR PC BAKER’S PR SOLARUS MISTOFELEES. MN. (37fn) 2yrs 1mth.

Boy of good type with a strong wedge of mid length, ears of balanced size set well upon it, eyes shaped and of light green shade, hint of a squint intermittently. Very good straight profile, firm chin, level bite. Big strong body, matching limbs and tail. Lovely even apricot sound coat, virtually free of patterning on the body.

RES GR PC. WEAVER’S PR SUNJADE SKIPPER. MN. (37k) 1yr 10mths.

Handsome gent with a mid length wedge, just the hint of a pinch, on which ears are well placed and set, might be just a hint larger for preference. Eye shape oriental, olive green. Body large and strong, limbs similar, tail could be a touch longer to balance. Coat sleek, slightly uneven cinnamon, rich toned out of the pen.

Exhibit 271 Looked very good but was not in the mood to be examined I am sorry to say.

ORIENTAL TORTIE KITTEN.

1 BoB DAWE’S BARBECCO AMIDALA. F. (37h) 5mths 3wks.

Pleasing lass, well grown, needing a manicure. Wedge neat and even, ears placed and flared nicely, oriental olive green eyes. Profile shows a shallow angle at the brow. Firm chin, bite meets, just scissored over. Firm little body, limbs and tail proportionate. Coat of good quality, showing warm mid chocolate, broken well by shades of red, some attractively rich.

CARAMEL POINT SIAMESE FEMALE.

1. CC. MORGAN’S ASTRALBLAESE APHRODITE. F. (24n) 1yr 5mths.

Attractive lady, of reasonable size, but with just a hint of kittenishness still about her demeanour. Medium length wedge, even, ears very well placed and aligned upon it, eyes of almond shape, set slightly straight, beguiling wistful expression. Profile almost straight, chin lines up, incisors very wayward, on average level. Slender firm body and limbs, tail to match. Very good caramel points, matching well though front paws just slightly uneven, excellent clear off white body for striking contrast. Had the hiccups.
